Great spot to grab a beer and some bar food. Good place to watch the games. They had a decent selection of beers. Food wasn't the best but exactly what I needed to cure my hangover 😌

Great, fun bar! The atmosphere is great, comfy seats, lots of tables. There was a live singer who was amazing and very funny - karaoke tomorrow, will be back! The service was amazing, finished my cocktail and a waiter was over to me in seconds, all so friendly also! Only fault was not being able to tip the staff by card? Management change this!! I had such a good service and was unable to repay my gratitude as I had no cash!

One of the Best English Bar in Lisbon with big screens for watching sports. The food is delicious and high on the price side. Amazing cocktails and selection on drinks. Perfect for a winter night dine out and drink, but fully crowded on football match days! Try veal tacos and fried, top!

I loved the bar, it's an experience worth having! First it feels like we are in the "Peaky Blinders" series and second the staff is very, very nice! I highlight Ana who was very nice and concerned about our table! I will definitely come back, especially if I'm served by Ana. Thank you!

While staying in Lisbon, we looked for a place to watch the Rugby World Cup (specifically the Springbok games). This place was amazing. Beautifully setup, it even has screens outside in the street where you can watch if it gets too crowded inside. Chips were probably the best we've had and the atmosphere was always pleasant.

The George is a pleasant afternoon bar and a roaring evening sports bar. We visited most afternoons over a three week stay in Lisbon and got to know the bartenders and staff. A delightful group of youngsters anxious to chat. Overall the service was good and the drinks well prepared. We give it 4 clams on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale.

Excellent pub. I've been in Lisboa two weeks and am a hamburger enthusiast and I haven't been tempted to order a burger anywhere for fear that they'll be a disappointment. Here, I caved. There are a few things that elevate burgers to new levels. Obviously the meat can't be cheap, freezer-section, unseasoned junk. Secondly, the bread should not a factory, white, sesame seed bun. That's what fast food is for. Lastly, the toppings shouldn't compete with each other or overpower each other. This place makes a great burger. I got the George and it is served on fantastic bread with a great, flavorful patty that isn't overcooked, and balanced seasonings and toppings. Fries are good and the portions are more than you need. Finally, the beer prices are right where you want them to be; no gouging for being in a touristy area. Five stars, will return!

The food is a little more expensive than other places, but it's nice - decent pint of Guinness (and I usually don't try it when abroad!) Really prompt service

This was the first good meal I’ve had in lisbon after being here for 3 days! I looooved their risotto. My husband liked the steak. The broken egg fries.. if you don’t like fries, don’t get this otherwise you would like it lol. The risotto with extra spinach was my absolute favorite!!! The veal croquettes had high quality stringy veal in there not like the ground beef I’ve had before for croquettes but I’m sure everyone makes it different here. But I only liked it for the first one then it was just too much for me. Good for sharing! Their food is really crafty and different. Ok, i just don’t like the smell in this place thats why i would knock off a star but totally would go back for the risotto!

Nice cocktail and not that much attentive service though nice cocktail . While being empty I would rather focus on talking to customers more and explaining about the bar .

Fries are soggy and dry. and as for the fish, batter is too thick but at least is crispy. chicken wings are dry and blended. Service is nice.

Nice pub with a real english feel to it. Went there to See premiership matches. But still able to find portuguese style plates. Friendly service but a bit difficult to get the Bill right. We went several Times during our stay.

Nice place, went in looking for a quick bite to eat. The menu I wouldn’t recommend for any fussy eaters. We got fish & chips which were so lovely, the fish was nice and crispy. Then we had chicken wings & sweet chilli sauce, it was €6.50 or €7.50 and they were fairly small but good. I tried black fish for the first time, it’s very soft and the chorizo sauce was amazing. The atmosphere was nice, not too crowded. However one of the toilets wouldn’t close & the other had no lock so i had to go to the shopping centre next to it to use the bathrooms which was a bit frustrating

My reviews of this place have always been top notch, 5 stars forever and always - a great place to watch F1, rugby, football etc. But I must say it's becoming a huge tourist trap... I mean 6 euros for a Sagres, what is going on? It used to be 3/4 max, I'd say look for an alternative unless no where else is showing what you want to watch

Great bar in the heart of Lisbon.  Live music every day, great food, festive atmosphere every day.  The staff is very friendly and professional.  And if you are lucky enough to meet the new year at The George, it will be an unforgettable adventure.  A must-see place in Lisbon

The food was fabulous. It was a wonderful surprise to taste such beautiful and delicious cuisine with complex flavors, like a ceviche prepared in a celery root bisque. The drunken pear dessert creatively prepared with crushed walnuts is essential. This place is Lisbon’s hidden gem!!!

Awesome place for Paddy's day! Loved the ambience of the place, not too crowded, amazing burgers and fries. Guacamole is really yumm 👌 Special thanks to the servers - you are amazing! And green beer - tops 🤩🍀

It barely reminds you of an actual English pub, but it's a great place, nevertheless. A bit pricey, the food and beer were very good though, and they got a live band with karaoke going on.

We waited for more than an hour for our food to receive the Delta Mushroom steak for 16€ 🤣🤣🤣 The steak itself consists solely of an over salted burned mushroom. Don’t be tricked.

Delicious, reasonably priced beer considering the quality. Super friendly and helpful waiters. A pretty ridiculous amount of flatscreen TVs, but high up on the walls and therefore non-pervasive.

Our hotel was in front of this restaurant. Live music, nice interior, excellent food, friendly staff. I had chickpea masala, which is not a typical portuguese dish :) was the best I have ever had. Best wishes.

This is the most ridiculous place I've ever been in my life. I waited for this "steak" for 1:30h And it's not even tasty.

My favourite place in Lisbon : live music every day, amazing burger, great choice of beers (especially La Chouffe) and the staff is always super friendly.

Nice location, but they showed a Premier League match instead of CL! We asked several times to switch channels, but they did only after the Premier League game was over. So all in all not recommended for international football fans who want to watch CL!

The most luxurious sports bar you’re likely to find… We had a fab evening at The George drinking, dining & watching the football. Love the fact they restrict access to prevent over crowding & if you’re a fan of guacamole you must give theirs a try! Very attentive friendly table service so no need to queue at the bar for your drinks and good value for money

Great pub in central Lisbon for sport-watching and a decent range of beers. Staff really nice too! 😊

  • 3/5 Duarte F. 1 year ago on Google
Good bar, with good atmosphere and some variety. Their seating arrangements are a bit silly, as they under utilise the space. On big sport events, they do not take reservations and their staff does not care much for you, if you come to watch it.

Nice English pub to eat a burger and fries. There are regular musical animations, in an overheated atmosphere. A way to relax a little more during the vacations.

My fav spot during my 4 days trip to Lisbon. Music, football and very friendly waiters. You can have a 50cl Sagres on tap for 4€ which is a very good price. I saw comments saying that smoking is allowed inside but it was not (Sept 2022). Enjoy the live music !!

  • 4/5 Jesse C. 1 year ago on Google
Food was good, the live music was good. The service could use work, due to having to flag someone down everytime I wanted another drink.

Pretty decent pub smack bang central with few screens showing the football. Staff very friendly, good decor and quite busy considering covid restrictions and Liverpool were playing. Will go back.

  • 5/5 Tiago M. 1 year ago on Google
Neat place. It has good Guinness on tap and some classic pub dishes. They also have some Portuguese bites such as Prego with chips, at a good price and full of flavour (see photo). The price of single malts is an absurdity though. I get that inflation and importation are a thing but very few will pay 16 euros for a dram of Lagavulin. At least they should make discount deals or something on single malts. Finally, lose the moustaches pillows, a bit tacky.
