😐 Go for more of the vibe and atmosphere than food. As previous reviews have mentioned they do drop some bread, chorizo and aioli onto you when you are first seated. It isn't complimentary and you can say no. Food would be ok if it was cheaper, definitely overpriced for the quality you get. For exam... Go for more of the vibe and atmosphere than food. As previous reviews have mentioned they do drop some bread, chorizo and aioli onto you when you are first seated. It isn't complimentary and you can say no. Food would be ok if it was cheaper, definitely overpriced for the quality you get. For example the olives were like €7, and were a bit young and bitter. But the vibe and location is great. Our waiter recommended a great bottle of wine (probably because it was the most expensive, but it was still great). The peppers and the stuffed mushroom were the standout dishes. We also got the rabbit, garlic shrimp, patatas bravas and a crispy pork roll (croquet), all of which were ok at best. We went on a Wednesday night and got a seat inside pretty easily. The place is bigger than it seems from the outside and the wait staff create an almost artificial busy/hectic atmosphere by taking away plates straight away. Worth going to for a couple drinks and maybe a plate or two to begin your night, but don't plan it as your sole dinner.

We have eaten here 5 times in our 2 weeks here in Lisbon. We love the food, staff and atmosphere. Sometimes a short wait but we’ll worth the wait. The shrimp risotto & grilled octopus were a surprise hit with us! The mushroom risotto was also very good as well as all their salads. Very good wine selection with a knowledgeable staff to help you. We look forward to returning to Lisbon and our first stop will be Tapas Bar 52! We returned 12/3 & 12/4/2022 They did not disappoint. The food was delicious! The World Cup Soccer ⚽️ was on the TV so we had a great time enjoying the atmosphere. Staff remembered us from the summer and greeted us like Family. Truly a neighborhood Bar in a busy city. I have added new pictures and would give them 5 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ once again!

We walked past this place on our way to somewhere else, but they had run out of the food we wanted so we came back here as it was busy and we took it as a sign of a good place to eat. Spoiler alert: we were wrong. After we sat down we got the menus and a bread basket, aioli, and a plate of chorizo. We were told if we eat it we'll be charged and if we don't want it they'd just take it away, which was fine. The price for the chorizo was nowhere to be found so we asked and it was 5€, 8.50€ for everything so we ate all three. 10 minutes after we sat down we ordered a bottle of sparkling water and a glass of red wine (drinks weren't on the 2 page tapas menu). I was only asked whether I wanted a full bodied or a lighter wine. Chose the full bodied which ended up costing 7.50€ which seemed expensive for Portugal. 10 minutes later a bottle of still water arrived and the waiter put down a glass and a open bottle of wine. We ordered our food (patatas bravas, pimientos, and grilled sausages) and then he got distracted and left. We called him over again to get the right water and then he actually poured the wine. 20 minutes later the pimientos arrived. 5 minuter after that the patatas. 10 minutes after the patatas (when they were almost gone) we were told that they were out of sausages, which was annoying. They should've told us they were out when they put the order in, we might've gone for the meatballs instead then. Telling us after the other food already arrived was plain terrible. They offered to bring (more expensive) blood sausages which we refused as we didn't want to wait another 20 minutes. Asked for the bill which came fairly quickly but then the waiter disappeared. Ended up waiting another 10 minutes to actually pay. Food was okay but the whole place seems overpriced and service was chaotic.

We walked by this place last night, and it looked like a good place to check out, considering it's a 5-minute walk from our hotel. Tonight, we decided to give it a try. What a disappointment, from start to finish. Sergio was our server; we ordered two glasses of wine and three different tapas. The wine was served a few minutes later, but the food was very late. In fact, two tables which were seated after us received their food much sooner than us. I asked Sergio, and he simply said it was coming. Five minutes later, there was still no food, so I waved Sergio and asked him to cancel the food order, and then all of a sudden, two of the three tapas were delivered. It was another 10 minutes for the third appetizer. We ordered the following: Fried Calamary, Stuffed Mushrooms, and Shrimp Açorda (stew-like). The calamari were very bland and were served without any sauce. The mushrooms and the shrimp açorda were very flat on flavor. The service is poor, slow, and definitely not attentive. The prices are reasonable, but considering the quality of the food, it's overpriced. The atmosphere? There isn't one, period. It's a tapas bar with tables on the sidewalk! The other concern is that when I asked for our ticket, upon checking it, I discovered I was charged for the bread, aioli, and chorizo, which we didn't touch and was taken away. I started to point it out to Sergio, and before I could say the words, he realized that he charged me for the Starters. I personally don't believe it was an honest mistake. I don't live in Lisbon, but even if I did, I wouldn't patronize this place ever again!

This place is busy and crazy busy after 7 pm. Many choices of dishes of food and wine by bottles and excellent cocktail. Optional bread basket and sausage plate. We love ham, marinated rabbit, octopus salad, fried mushrooms, duck roll with orange marmalade, meatball in tomatoes sauce and mussels. Desserts also good here as well. Friendly service and English speaking. Food came out fast as well.

Beware! Overpriced and pushy. When we sat down, we were given bread, garlic sauce and meat slices as an offering but we were expected to pay over 10 euro for them. The tapas is very expensive and small portions. It's a shame because the food is nice, but you can't forget you're being ripped off.

I can’t believe this place doesn’t have 5*! The most delicious tapas I’ve ever had. Favourite dishes were the patatas bravas (super crispy), meatballs (I wouldn’t have chosen these but wow they were 10/10), garlic shrimps, manchego. They put bread, alioli and chorizo on your table to start which isn’t complimentary and you can leave it and you won’t get charged, but for us we loved it as a snack whilst we perused the menu. Big beers and some port. Very reasonable compared to London prices! Loads of food and 3 big beers each for less than 50 euros each. The waiter was great too and gave us free shots because we moved to the bar to free up our outside table. We were so full, merry and then went to barrio alto after for some 🕺. Didn’t book on a Saturday night but luckily got a table for 3 outside

Great food and great service. Prices were very reasonable. Everything we ordered was delicious, wish we could have eaten more, but we were stuffed with the dishes we had ordered. Food is very simply, but very flavorful.

This place was popping all night and once seated and the tapas started coming I see why. The staff is incredibly awesome and hospitable. The food was amazing every dish we tasted left us wanting more

Such delicious food, really great menu, difficult to choose what to have! I can recommend the grilled Portuguese sausage, padron peppers and tomato salad! A little expensive for tapas but fab food.

Completely overpriced tapas and drinks!!! Not real Spanish tapas. Low quality of food. A glass of wine that you pay the same price as in an elegant high quality place … overall big disappointment ! Waiters were nice

We had lunch at Tapas 52 on a Sunday with 4 people. We ended up here, because most restaurants were closed on Sunday. They have a extended list of dishes to choose from, as well as a list of specials. We asked for recommendations from the waiter and were advised patatas bravas and pork cheek, which were both great dishes. The pork cheek was very tender, prepared in a red wine sauce. Their version of patats bravas was also delishes. Further on we ordered calamares, which weren't that great. Picanha which was good, and rabbit which was OK. Surprisingly it was a cold dish. Overall it was a good place to eat, but it's a very pricey place.

Food is completly overpriced and wasn't good. Very little quantity of food. The mussel was not cooked properly and were tiny, the tomato bread was not fresh. The only good food was the shrimps, but also very little quantity. The wine overpriced as well. The music was too loud, impossible to talk. You can smoke inside.

The food here (and their sister restaurant Tapas 47 if it reopens) never disappoints. The pork cheek in port wine reduction is divine.

Typical petiscos or tapas in a very cool area. Food was ok and service is really great. Good place for a drink and a small plate. Close to pub areas which are really close to this place.

Walking around before dinnertime, other restaurants were empty. But Tapas 52 was busy. We went back for dinner and we're not disappointed. Everything we had was good. The Bravas potatoes were excellent.

First visit in the afternoon is pretty chill here. I had scrambled eggs with asparagus, spring roll and panna cotta. All of them are tasty. It would be better if the panna Cotta is less sweet. Second visit during the dinner time, the bar is busy but with a cozy vibes here. Ordered a mushroom with asparagus and cheese and it’s delicious. Highly recommend but maybe not coming alone since you can only ordered few plates in this way.

I’m really sorry but we had to pay for stuff we didn’t order. 10 Euro extrabill for food put on our table without giving any chance to refuse. The most expansive tourist bar ever.

Great, cool service midday. I sat at the bar bc it was just me and I wanted to be in and out. The bartender made a gin sour and it tasted really good and not bitter. The octopus was tender! Conversation with the staff was easy. I’d come back in a heartbeat.

My only complaint is this place is popular! My group of three waited about 30 minutes before we were shown to a tiny table with 2 chairs and 1 stool. The place was so jam packed that the guy at the next table rested his elbow on our table. Food and service were excellent, however.
