A great spot the locals recommend to try the famous Gijinha “medicinal” drink. Way less waiting time that other similar shops in the area. Very friendly and swift service. Outdoor seating available. Place gets very lively at night and during holidays. Payment accepted in cash or card. Very fair pricing per portion.

After trying, we can understand why this is the best. The ginjja is much more fragrant and the alcohol taste is stronger.

Our favourite Ginjinha spot in all of Lisbon! The shop is beautiful and authentic, with charming shop owners! We loved that our ginjinha was served with actual cherries (this wasn’t common at other stores) We loved it so much, that we came back two more times during our visit and bought 3 bottles to bring home! We’ll be back 🍒🍒🍒

It truly is the best Ginjinha. Not too sweet, a subtle balance of flavor. And the Eduardino is unique in all the world! A fantastic herbal liquor. The closest comparison I can think of is Chartreuse. The bar is tiny, so only a few people can fit inside to grab their drinks before spilling out into the street. It's absolutely delightful.

Although you can find cherry liquor all over Portugal, this one by the Rossio square counts into the oldest and most famous ones. It's a small shop where you'll see queues (go very fast) for that famous cherry. You get it in a shot glass (1,50 Eur) and drink it right on the square in front, no tables or chairs. TIP: do visit the amazing next door Dominic Church (see that review).

We visited this place during our walking tour of Lisbon as recommended by our guide as part of our experience. We tried Portugal's famous sour cherry liquor here and was quite impressed. Located in the touristic hotspot near Rossio this is a must try during your visit or any tour. You can also take a sample back home with you

We went on Wednesday night 23.45 because Google said they were open till midnight but when we got there it was closed. The next day we passed by the check again. The man was a bit grumpy compared to when I saw him on YouTube for one of those vlogers.

Something that you have to try when you’re in Lisbon and here is the best place to get it.

Ginja 1,50 €.

If you only want to go to one Ginjinha place, this is the place to go. Better tasting than its neighbors, it also has the benefit of generally shorter lines and some cafe tables to enjoy your 'medicine' at. It is also a great place to get bottles to go, as the licor is better and cheaper than the stuff you'll find at tourist shops.

Atmospheric little bar serving the best cherry liquor & beers at decent prices. Authentic place with no frills but lots of buzz about it

Great for wake me up or after lunch digestive shot of Ginjinha ! Card or cash accepted and seats available outside. Not waiting queues and friendly prices. Must try gem of Portugal.

Their ginjinha is delicious. They serve their tasty sweet cherry liquor in small shot glasses which can be enjoyed while standing at small tables just outside. We loved this place and visited it more than once.

We tried a Ginjinha cherry liquor with actual cherries inside. A very nice digestive from this lovely tiny place. Comes highly recommended, the liquor is cheap and tastes really good.

A quintessential experience to Lisbon. Pop in for a boozey cherry wine shot (one type only) that comes with liqueur cherries in the glass. What you see is what you get. Bottoms up!

Not my favorite place to have cherry liquor in Lisbon, but it was nice. €1,5 per shot.

Great cherry wine in shot glass. A big strong to our standard, really great taste indeed. 100% recommended the true way to start a night with in Lisbon.

One of the best Ginja I have had. It is a family run business and to watch how the process is done and then to taste was wonderful.

Sem Rival, the neighboring Espinheira, and A Tendinha do Rossio, opened in 1840. We cannot say that they were the first because it is known that in the old charcoal kilns, almost all managed by Galicians, there was also the custom of selling wine by the glass at the counter. . And that in many of them there would not even be tables, just a counter. As the interior spaces of these two houses are reduced, this form of service promotes the extension of the shops across the street, coloring Largo de SĂŁo Domingos and Rua das Portas de Santo AntĂŁo with the lively presence of liqueur lovers, who gather standing , with or without them and, if possible, avoiding plastic cups.

Really good and cute Ginja place away from the touristy side of Rossio Square. It’s pretty cheap in comparison to others around it. Would definitely recommend if you like sweet alcohol. They have 100ml sizes which makes great gifts in carry on luggage.

How could anyone dislike this place? Sure, the floors are sticky, but the Ginjinha here is undeniable. What makes it even better is the people you'll meet while having your sip. We came every day of our trip and met a wonderful myriad of characters, each from somewhere else, with their own loveable story. This place truly brings people together. đź–¤

What an amazing story. Excellent Cherry Liquer and Anais Liquer. We were taken there on our Devour food tour. Went back twice more.

Open until late. Nice shot for €1,50. The ginja is not as thick as the one down the road but the cherries are not so bitter

👍👍 I was very surprised to see that even though this is right in the middle of “tourist town” the Pastel De Nata is by far the best I have ever tried.
