Overall, okay restaurant and a bit pricey. I was recommended this restaurant by a tour guide. 1) Appetizer - crab meat. (Around 7.50 EURO). Would not recommend. It basically tasted like crab mayo salad. It was decent with bread but I was hoping for more fresh crab meat versus crab meat that tasted something I could get from a cheap supermarket. 2) Entree #1 - Pork Leg. (Around 16.50 EURO). Pretty good! Juicy and super tender. The skin was crunchy and flavorful. However there was A LOT of fat surrounding the meat. Would recommend. - Came with oven baked potato chips were tasty and addicting. 3) Entree #2 - sirloin steak. (Around 15.50 EURO). would not recommend. It was small and super flat. A little too well done. And was drowned in a tasty sauce. However, if a steak is drowned in sauce, it basically means it isn't good. - it came with fries that we're regular French fries similar to McDonald's (but not as salted).

Comedy of errors!! Beautiful place and amazing decor. Sadly the service and food did not match the location. Our order had to be confirmed by the waiting staff 3 times. Steak was over cooked Fish was super expensive for a very average price of fish Incorrect beer presented Bill was incorrect. This place should be so much better! I would avoid for now

Great seafood place with amazing history and very, very tasty food. The place is located in an old monastery and a small closed courtyard place as well. The seafood is always fresh and well cooked, we had the seafood rice and it was difficult to finish between the four of us, mind you we had quite a few starters as well. The Bulhão Pato Clams were insane. Can’t wait to go there again.

The food here is great. But the service can really be improved. My wife and I wanted to get some quick night snacks after walking up the hills of Lisbon. But it took forever for the food and drinks to come, even something as simple as an orange juice took 30 min. And we asked several times "where is our food?" but there were really no responses. But once the food came they're good. It's the first time we had gooseneck barnacles, and we had to learn how to eat it properly. The atmosphere is quite decent with classy and well decorated interior. It's a pity, of they have better and faster service, they could've gotten a 5 star from me.

We were a group of 5 and we’ve been there for dinner. Amazing place, setting and atmosphere. The food just excellent, all of our dishes were delicious! Excellent wine! Very good staff as well, caring and attentive. This restaurant goes straight into my top 10 favorite restaurants in the world.

This place is a 5 star place but I gave it a 4 stars. Too bad I cannot give it 4.6-4.7. Read on. Atmosphere and decor: excellent, has a very nice indoor and outdoor seating. Service: almost impeccable, we had a reservation but weren’t asked for it as there were plenty of tables. Order was taken fast and served fast too. They helped with some recommendation and also helped to not order some dish that we wouldn’t have liked. My ONLY comment on the service is that we weren’t very hungry and weren’t sure if we wanted a starter. The person taking our order asked twice “so no starter??”, it felt slightly pushy that at that moment I felt bad for not buying a starter. We got the mussels and there were excellent. For main we got the Cataplana (it’s for sharing therefore not cheap), it’s my first time trying this in Portugal and it’s basically like a Bouillabaisse. Except this one was very salty, just like most of the Portuguese cuisine.

Recommended by a local friend. Beautiful deco with lots of historical tile arts. Very big space with different sections. Food was good but not great. Chips was soggy. Chocolate mousse tasted good!

I was pretty angry when I waited 50 mins for my fish soup and 30 mins for fresh squeezed orange juice at first but after I tried the fish soup, it's like-- there's nothing more delicious fish soup than this soup. & words can't describe our feelings for it. It's fresh & so tasty. But I wonder do I want to wait again for this soup for 1 hour🤔. The service is actually not so attentive, but because the fish soup is too good, so I still tip the server 10% and finally I see a beautiful smile from the server.

This was my favorite restaurant in Lisbon. The place itself is beautiful, the food is magnificent and João was an amazing server. We had a delightful diner and fell in love with the place. We will definitely come back.

We only came for a light and late lunch, but we absolutely loved all our dishes. We had crab and tiger shrimp, the latter was absolutely fantastic. Service was lovely, location is great, prices are on the higher side but to be expected and worth it in our opinion. Moscow mule was delicious!

Old convent turned restaurant. Stopped for lunch which was delightful. We really didn’t sample a lot, just had the sausage and cheese charcuterie boards which were quite tasty. The setting is lovely and staff very nice.

What a beautiful restaurant in the middle of nowhere and the long walk up a steep hill is well worth it. It’s fine dinning with prompt service, an extensive wine list and a sophisticated decor. The food were above average, but with room for improvement and all priced reasonably. Would recommend it if you are looking for a finer restaurant in the Lisboa.

Great atmosphere and service with good prices and tasty food. The steaks are delicious and the beer pudding is the best desert. The mocktails were not good though I don't recommend trying any.

Very beautiful place. Both the inner dining area and the garden area are truly a sight to behold. The food was excellent, especially considering the prices of the dishes. Would recommend the steak tenderloin (and im not a steak fan usually). My girlfriend loves the mussels and so did I.

A very classy joint with very experienced bar tenders. My daughter had an amazing espresso Martini. I had the bock and the IPA (tastes like a Stone IPA) Served in cool pint glasses. The ambience is quaint and refined. Our bartender prepped a whole seafood platter in front of us with intense precision. Impressed!

The Trindade Brewery was built in 1836 on the ruins of the Santíssima Trindade dos Frades Trinos Convent, founded at the end of the 13th century. Destroyed in 1704 by a fire, in 1755 by the famous earthquake and, in 1756, after reconstruction, by a new fire, the Convent ended up disappearing in 1834 with the extinction of the Religious Orders in Portugal. It was bought by Manoel Garcia, who set up the first brewery in Portugal here. Soon after, he opened the first Brewery, consisting of four rooms and a patio, the latter in the space formerly occupied by the Cloister. This brewery has magnificent Masonic-themed entrance panels. It is close to the Grémio Lusitano most famous for the Masonic Palace. Many agapes are held there after the evening sessions.

Marisco plate for three people and garlic clams. I expected hot plate for seafood but it is cold dish. So we ordered extra soup. Be sure not to expect warm seafood plate. Still the shrimp was sweet and fresh.

Our party of 6 had lunch here and it was nothing short of extraordinary - the ambiance was awesomely unique, the food was delicious, and the service was phenomenal. My father likes to sample local lamb dishes at all of his travels and all of the tastings he's had, the lamb shank here is THE best 👌. I agree - best lamb dish ever! We also had the mussels and a couple of steaks - all were so tasty 😋 Will definitely stop by again when we're in town. Mahalo for an experience we'll remember for a long while, Trindade!

We read about this place on a RickSteves book so we went. The place is very beautiful and all stops there. We stoped for wine, beer and appetizers. The waiter came and gave us a lunch menu, when we told her we were not having lunch her attitude changed, she bought our drinks and ignored us for about 30 minutes, we tried catching her attention many times and nothing. We gave up on ordering anything, paid and left. I would NOT recommend this place

Have been here for decades. It's always the same good quality. Friendly service. The "monastery" is amazing. There is no need for reservation. Recomend the classic trindade steak.

Delicious food in an beautiful environment! Not all food pictured- much was devoured before could snap an image! The mussels are a must, we dipped all our bread in the sauce to try and extend the experience!! The cod a la bras is a popular dish, and definitely solid and homey but the Iberian pork cheeks stole the show for entree. Highly recommend as a nice meal, the history of this place itself makes it a wonderful place to eat but the cuisine takes it over the edge! A must go!

The beer was decent, tried a flight. The service was good. Overall the food we had lacked flavor and seasoning. The Verde soup needed a lot of pepper and salt. We shared the rice and seafood, it was pretty good, but lacked some flavor. There was a good amount of seafood. The interior is cool and lives up too the description. The friar based server attire is gimmicky.

Great place, I went there many many times in the past. but the steak sauce is now very bad. Give the customers the option for the old sauce. Very good fries and employees. They only have Sagres beer :( if you are a Super Bock fan, you are in deep trouble. To the owners: Please buy Super Bock, you should have what customers want and not what is cheaper for you!!!

5 stars for the service and ambiance, but maybe 4+ for food. The history of this beautifully designed building made this restaurant a worthwhile trip! Our waiter meticulously prepped the lobster shell removal.

Definitely a beautiful place to have meals. The food is so-so. Not bad and neither disappointing. Many tourist come here but Portuguese people also come here to enjoy. Female young staff at the entrance are lacking polite skills. The lady manager was very nice and was able to demonstrate herself as a real manager.

Interior is fascinating. I liked to food and services. It is pricey for a normal restaurant as this is not a fine dining spot and you will not regret it. Cataplana was amazing...

We have booked a table with many friends and were expecting an amazing evening. But it was not really what we expected. The service was not good, waiters were distracted not attentive late in serving. Some dishes friends asked were not available so we had to compromise. Wine they suggested was not good either. The design interior were beautiful tho. Overall would not go back there again.

Really nice restaurant. Authentic and not touristic. The food was really good and came in really fast. The staff is nice even tho had some issues with the drinks order, but was fixed. Average price for europe maybe not that much for Portugal but worth it. Recommend it!

The place is beautiful.. As it has been for decades. The food is good but the traditional "bife à Trindade" lost personality and the sauce is not good and too salty. Beer is excellent. Lots of work to be done and decide the path : to be a beer house /Cervejaria has always has been or a kind of a fancy place! As it is now is lacking personality. Pricy for what you get. Very weak service. Time to correct the options. Good luck to Trindade!

  • 2/5 Ricardo A. 1 year ago on Google
The service took a long time (1h30). The food arrived cold, the steak was tough, poorly seasoned and the fries were not soft. The service was not the best. The price you pay for the type of food and service is disproportionate. A restaurant not to return.

This ancient brewery in the heart of Chiado, is located in the Convent of Santíssima Trindade, founded in 1294. Just to see the magnificent tile panels, a visit to Cerverjaria Trindade is already justified, but there are other reasons of interest it offers wonderful traditional Portuguese fish dishes and you can truly immerse yourself in history as you feast on beautifully presented dishes. If fish isn't your thing, don't worry as Cervejaria Trindade has a selection of steaks on the menu such as the bife picado à trindade, a beer-based specialty. It's always a good sign when you see a busy restaurant with locals, so Cervejaria Trindade is worth a visit, but try to book to avoid disappointment.

I wanted it to be better! Beautiful building but it lacked atmosphere. Service was mediocre. Food was good but it needed the atmosphere to make it a place we would go back to!

It's a brewery that makes you order food to be able to drink a beer. Except there's a 20min wait for tables so if you want to try the beer just find a bottle shop. The beer is actually good!

Oh the clams!! And the jumbo prawns!! This place looks like an tourist trap, monastery theme, huge eating hall with terrible lighting etc... but the service was great, and the food was absolutely delicious!! We just had the clams in garlic and the jumbo prawns which are the size of my forearm, both were delicious, being that Lisbon is a food lovers town we ate light so that we could bounce around town tasing other delights this town has to offer.

What an interesting location! Used to be a monastery, then a Freemason lodge, and now houses a classic beerhouse with a fabulous choice of seafood and a super friendly service. The ambiance will swoon you, with classic azulejos all over the property and waiters dressed as medieval monks.
