We
almost
missed
this
place...the
signage
outside
is
not
very
noticeable.
My
wife
noticed
the
bread
in
the
window
and
looked
inside
to
discover
that
it
was
a
restaurant
(they
need
a
better
sign
that
can
be
seen
from
the
street
as
you
are
walking
downhill
and
focused
on
not
tripping...maybe
one
that
sticks
out
from
the
wall
over
the
walkway).
I
am
so
glad
we
stopped
in
to
take
a
look.
We
were
greeted
warmly,
given
a
menu
in
English
(yes,
of
course
they
have
them
in
Portuguese)
and
were
told
that
they
specialize
in
smoked
meat
dishes
from
Northern
Portugal...I
did
a
smoked
meat
happy
dance,
but
my
wife
is
a
vegetarian
/
pescatarian
so
we
had
to
make
sure
they
had
something
for
her...we
were
informed
that
they
do
have
a
few
vegetarian
options,
so
we
decided
to
stay
for
dinner.
The
restaurant
is
cozy
(maybe
room
for
16
-
20
guests),
the
service
is
personal,
the
staff
is
kind,
and
willing
to
help
with
any
translations
or
advise
necessary.
The
prices
were
very
reasonable
(our
entire
meal,
including
a
bottle
of
wine
&
2
desserts
was
$45
Euro).
The
waiter
recommended
a
bottle
of
Golpe
wine,
which
we
enjoyed
(smooth
&
not
too
acidic).
We
began
with
some
bread,
olives,
tapenade,
and
some
olive
oil
dips.
My
wife
had
the
vegetarian
pie
and
a
salad,
and
I
ordered
a
pork
&
garlic
sausage
with
potatoes
and
what
we
in
the
United
States
would
call
collard
greens.
The
sausage
was
VERY
soft
and
delicious.
The
softest,
yet
juiciest
sausage
I
have
ever
eaten.
They
must
grind
the
meat
several
time
to
get
it
this
soft,
plus
it
is
blended
with
some
bread
in
the
mixture
in
the
casing,
but
it
was
crispy
on
the
outside
and
soft
and
flavorful
on
the
inside.
For
my
liking,
the
potatoes
and
collard
greens
needed
a
little
salt
and
pepper
(so
did
most
things
I
ate
in
Portugal...they
tend
to
under
season
a
lot
of
the
foods
there,
from
my
experience),
but
they
were
both
cooked
properly
and
once
seasoned
a
little,
the
entire
meal
was
excellent.
For
dessert
we
had
the
apple
crumble
and
an
almond
dessert,
plus
a
glass
of
dry,
white
port
wine.
Such
a
great
meal.
I
hope
your
experience
is
similar
to
ours.
