Delicious food with relaxed atmosphere. The portion is perfect and we have just enough room to taste their yummy dessert. Highly recommended.

We almost missed this place...the signage outside is not very noticeable. My wife noticed the bread in the window and looked inside to discover that it was a restaurant (they need a better sign that can be seen from the street as you are walking downhill and focused on not tripping...maybe one that sticks out from the wall over the walkway). I am so glad we stopped in to take a look. We were greeted warmly, given a menu in English (yes, of course they have them in Portuguese) and were told that they specialize in smoked meat dishes from Northern Portugal...I did a smoked meat happy dance, but my wife is a vegetarian / pescatarian so we had to make sure they had something for her...we were informed that they do have a few vegetarian options, so we decided to stay for dinner. The restaurant is cozy (maybe room for 16 - 20 guests), the service is personal, the staff is kind, and willing to help with any translations or advise necessary. The prices were very reasonable (our entire meal, including a bottle of wine & 2 desserts was $45 Euro). The waiter recommended a bottle of Golpe wine, which we enjoyed (smooth & not too acidic). We began with some bread, olives, tapenade, and some olive oil dips. My wife had the vegetarian pie and a salad, and I ordered a pork & garlic sausage with potatoes and what we in the United States would call collard greens. The sausage was VERY soft and delicious. The softest, yet juiciest sausage I have ever eaten. They must grind the meat several time to get it this soft, plus it is blended with some bread in the mixture in the casing, but it was crispy on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. For my liking, the potatoes and collard greens needed a little salt and pepper (so did most things I ate in Portugal...they tend to under season a lot of the foods there, from my experience), but they were both cooked properly and once seasoned a little, the entire meal was excellent. For dessert we had the apple crumble and an almond dessert, plus a glass of dry, white port wine. Such a great meal. I hope your experience is similar to ours.

Simple and relaxing restaurant run by a lady and a handsome chef. Service is warm and very prompt. The menu is limited and serves mainly meat, there is unfortunately no seafood in this restaurant. I had veg salad, grilled veal and pumpkin pie. All perfectly done and served. Will come back again!

Great, cozy place to have some northern Portuguese food and drinks. Small place, but can make reservations of up to 20 people (full house). The 'prego' with barrosĂŁ meat is top notch.

Booking needed as they're almost always full. Absolutely delicious food. Very tiny and only one waiter but they do they're best and always with a smile. Super super nice atmosphere and food! We absolutely loved it and couldn't recommend it more!

A fantastic and charming little restaurant. This place is quaint, and we stumbled on it walking down the street. Service is very relaxed but warm and friendly so make sure you’re not in a hurry or needing to be somewhere. The food is simple and amazing, and very well prepared. A perfect end cap to a trip to Lisbon, and a true hidden gem! (Photo is a large steak shared between two - came with sautéed cabbage and potatoes)

Amazing food, amazing staff. Tiny place with 6 or 7 tables, but in this case quality definitely beats quantity. They serve regional products from North East Portugal available either in a format of smaller dishes made to share or main courses for a single person. We ordered some of the platters made to share and the portions were quite good for a party of 4. And although the portions of the dishes were great, the quality of the food presented on them was just amazing. While eating these platters I experienced true bliss for about 20 minutes. The staff is also incredibly friendly, both chef and waiter know their stuff when it comes to gastronomy and they deliver a personal service unrivaled in most restaurants. TL:DR 11/10 great food, great staff, great location, do yourself a favor and book a table.

An incredibly good meal! Barroso beef steaks were the best beef I have ever eaten. The warm and attentive service would actually have earned 6 stars. Thanks for a great evening.

Absolutely amazing food and service. There were two gentleman who were incredibly helpful and the food was stunning. A real showcase of traditional Portuguese food. Make sure you either book or get there early as it is small and intimate.

We stopped here on our way to our apartment after a long Sunday visiting Sintra. We were guided with suggestions and wee very pleased by the selections. The smoked pork sausage was the best with a nice lingering smokiness that complemented our bottle of red wine. We then had a steak for 2 that brought back memories from my grandmother’s cooking on a wood stove. A nice crispy crust around the meat. It was a perfect end to a busy day of discovery. Thank you!
