What a find! We came here during a busy night and were lucky to snag two seats. I'm glad we did! The wine selection was great- we had several glasses of white which paired wonderfully with the food we had. The food was tapas style. I highly recommend the bread basket. It came with two custom butters, olives, and carrots. You could see the bread coming out of the oven and being sliced from where we sat. I wanted to take some home! The rest of our tapas were very tasty. We had some tartar, seafood, and dessert. The ambiance of the restaurant is wonderful. Romantic yet relaxed. I highly recommend visiting if you can.

This place was fantastic! The interior, adorned with a ceiling covered in bottles, is simply stunning. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and we had some great laughs together. Their wine selection is superb, and the food was truly delicious. One piece of advice: if you don't have a reservation, be sure to arrive on time, as it fills up fast. I highly recommend it!

Lovely atmosphere, food was light and lots of wine to choose from. Food was in small portions, like tapas. I cam back twice at lunch time and the staff were really attentive, great at suggesting food and wine. The tuna was the best dish, very sweet. The steak was great too and the bread freshly baked.

We found this restaurant through another restaurant’s recommendation and it did not disappoint! The decor is strikingly gorgeous with the bottles integrated beautifully. Appetizers were amazing, with the world’s best cheese topping the list. We had the pad Thai, entrecôte, two charcuteries, octopus, and a couple of other items and they all hit the spot. Must try and highly recommend! For more reviews, recipes and food ideas check out @nazaris_touch on Instagram.

We loved this place. We booked a reservation the night before which was a great idea as it was really busy and buzzing. Great atmosphere and music. Interior is gorgeous and the food was so yummy. It’s small plates but enough to share a dish. The roast potatoes were so good and so were the steak bites, really tender and soft. The bread appetiser was so good, freshly cooked and still warm and comes with olives, carrots and olive oil dip. Wine was great of course, everything was really reasonably priced. Staff were accommodating and so was the chef as we asked for one of the ingredient to be removed from a dish, amazing service. Highly recommend you pop by if you’re visiting Lisbon!

Amazing wine bar with wide selection of Portuguese wines and pretty tasty food. Staff super friendly and professional! Would definitely come back again next time I visit Lisbon! The price is also very reasonable.

A great bar to either drink or eat. We came at around 9pm and there were no available seats for us, but after 10 minutes they had. They set us at a table in the corner so it was very comfortable and intimate. We ordered drinks and a plate of portuguees cheese which was excellent. There was a great vibe there and we enjoyed our time very much. Highly recommended!

If you're a wine and food enthusiast, you won't want to miss out on this gem we discovered while strolling around Lisboa. The moment we stepped into this restaurant, we knew we were in for a treat. With an impressive wine and port list to choose from, we were spoiled for choice. And the food options? Let's just say we had a hard time deciding what to order, but everything we tried was absolutely scrumptious. Trust me, you won't regret making a stop at this place if you're in the area!

Another awesome night of food. We had a fair mix of small plates to share, but the real highlights were the octopus carpaccio and the veal carpaccio. Big shout out for the cod fish and chickpea salad as well. Now been a second time, try the beef entrecote and garlic prawns. Wow!

We came at around 6:00pm and it wasn't full inside. If you come later you would probably need reservations as they were turning people away after they let us sit at the bar. We ordered the octopus carpaccio (13) and the prego do pao (14) steak sandwich. Both dishes did not disappoint. The octopus capaccio was like nothing we've ever tried before. It was very thin and tender. The olive oil flavour really stood out here. The steak sandwich with fries was pretty good. The steak wasn't dry and the bread added a nice chew to it. The service was good but there was a bit of a mishap with the credit card machine so it took awhile for the bill to come. I would recommend this place for elevated Portuguese food. It's a modern take on Portuguese food and they have a lot of different types of wine in house.

This place is very interesting, the menu offers a variety of options for everybody. I had the octopus with potatoes and roasted peppers, and it was exquisite. The local staff were very friendly and happy to serve the customers.

I visited the place in 2019 for the first time, and I couldn't wait to return to lisbon to visit this place again. Outstanding wine galleries, unique aesthetics, a big variety of local meat cuts - cured meat - and cheese. Better sit at the bar and enjoy the wine journey. Highly recommend.

We didn't have a reservation so we set on the bar, that was great. The guy in the bar was very nice and helped us to find the best wine for us. The food was very good, and the place bis well designed. The dishes we ordered weren't that unique, but it was served in a very sophisticated way

Our first night in Lisbon and it blew away our expectations. From being greeted immediately with a friendly demeanor to getting some seats (two of us) at the bar in the beautiful space decorated with wine bottles, we knew we lucked out. Everything we ordered was outstanding, from the wine (our first glass of Green Wine!) to the bread, to mind-blowingly good octopus, to the main dishes (steak sandwich and steak) to some of the best desserts we've ever had (we ordered all three) our entire meal was one highlight after another. I can't thank the staff enough for making our first night in Lisbon so memorable.

Very cozy wine tasting place with extraordinary decor and delicious tapas and wine. The staff there was very customer friendly, could speak good English and we really had a top waiter (very polite, decent/ well mannered, good service). Since we did not have a reservation we were not given a table, but a barrel to eat on. It did give a special touch to the location, but might not have been so convenient to eat on. So I recommend making reservations. We first took a carafe of white sangria and the charcuterie and cheese board which were both really delicious. Then I separately took the octopus carpaccio. When I saw the plate coming, I did ask for bread because it just didn’t seem to be enough food for me. Their dishes are rather meant as a sharing plate were you choose several dishes from the menu. The food was very good, maybe a bit pricey because, for example, such a plate was already quite a lot of money, but you didn't eat enough with it. So if you have to take multiple plates it can get expensive. But other than that, I definitely recommend to do it sometime. The toilet was not too bad, but maybe could have been a little cleaner.

We loved this place a lot! We initially had our booking for another day but we switched to New Year’s Eve dinner and we are so glad that we spent out night here. What a lovely service and ambiance. Everyone is super friendly. Food is amazing. The decoration feels super cozy but chic at the same time. The menu was special for the night but I’m sure their regular menu is as good as what we had.

Lovely dinner, especially for our last night in Lisbon. I highly recommend making a reservation - the restaurant is big but it’s a popular spot. Food was creative and delicious and staff can provide excellent wine pairings. We particularly liked the Iberico pork collar eye.

This place is amazing. If you’re in Lisbon you NEED to dine here. The location is beautiful and the vibe is just perfect: it feels like you’re in a different time! My friends and I were attended by few waiters all very competent, cheerful and kind. We’ve been suggested amazing wines and we ate delicious food. Overall great experience from the moment we’ve stepped in till the moment we’ve left. I’m definitively going back.

My husband and I had a great experience at this place. Although we didn’t reserve a spot we were immediately seated at the bar. The interior design is magnificent(very modern as we like) staff were attentive and polite. They have a great selection of delicious Portuguese wine. The food menu is unique and certainly will impress you. The tuna ceviche and veal cheeks were just amazing! I highly recommend this place!

By The Wine was a fantastic little spot discovered on Instagram. Situated just off a very touristy square, at the top of another steep hill, is this bottle lined cave of fairly priced wines and excellent food. Went with some jazzed up sardines and some of the stinkiest cheese I've ever had in my life, washed down with a bottle of sparkling Rosé which cut through the heat perfectly. Great space, good fun.

Loved this wine bar! From the moment we walked in the service was impeccable. They helped us pick wines to suit our liking and allowed us to try several before buying a glass. Also spend time explaining the difference, not just a wine bar but wine tasting too. Prices were very decent, especially come from the UK. Quality was great and at good prices. The charcuterie boards were delicious, definitely recommend getting one to pair with your wine. The decor is really cool and provides a great ambience. While we walked in without a booking, it gets super busy so make sure you book or be happy to wait for a seat at the bar.

This restaurant was highly recommended by friends who are in wine business and they are food connoisseur. Our first stop in Lisbon was “BytheWine” even before we check in to the hotel. I’m glad we had such a nice experience. Beautiful decor with wine bottles, nice wine list and excellent food! Service was friendly and efficient. Octopus carpaccio was my favorite. Tomato soup w poached egg was packed with flavor. Veal croquettes were good, but not my favorite. Codfish with chickpeas and red onion was very flavorful. Quesadillas was made with high quality cheese. Steak w potatoes and mayonnaise was excellent. It was little chewy but flavor was amazing. It’s best to make a reservation online beforehand and wear comfortable shoes~ it’s up on a steep hill. You will definitely have a good time, good food and wine.

Amazing wine bar with great options of Portuguese wine. Great atmosphere. We also ordered a cheese table (€16) that came with 3 cheese option, one most delicious than the other. All with great harmonisation. And the best thing very affordable!

Beautifully decorated interior with wine bottles and wine posters everywhere. Even a wine bottle vaulted ceiling. Great for a group or for a date. Small plates were easy for our group of 10 women to share. Loved the tuna and also the salmon ceviche.

Absolutely fantastic evening at By the Wine - the food was unbelievably good . And so many wines by the glass to try. Service was superb too. Go there!

Lovely bar to visit solo, but clearly popular with couples and dates and families to a lesser extent. The wine selection was excellent and although I did not eat, the preparation was quite aesthetic. The bar filled up quickly on a weeknight and I would recommend arriving close to opening to assure a place.

Great design Wonderful staff We went twice & the wines are run of the mill. Nothing special. Decent cheese & meat board. Delicious axles bread. Hit black sheep Lisboa, vino vero, senior uva for a better portugal wine Selection Would return. Wouldn’t rush to do so. Have opinions; Will share

Love this wine bar. We spent our first nights dinner here and we were overjoyed with a spectacular dinner and wine selection. The restaurant itself has great atmosphere with an interesting “wine bottle” bar back and ceiling. A must visit when in Lisbon for some excellent wine and food, loved the octopus!

We stumbled upon here on our first night in Lisbon and couldn’t have been happier. The staff kindly gave us 2 seats at the bar even though we didn’t have a booking. We had such a great experience. The food is fantastic, with delicious drinks to match. We loved it so much that we came back a second night (after a terrible dinner experience elsewhere) and we managed to score 2 seats at the bar again. Must do spot in Lisbon!
