Stayed here for 4 nights in September loved every single thing about it BUT the beds being twin and just pushed together not connected via mattress cover or anything meaning they slid away from each other on the hard flooring which was frustrating. Other than that service, cleanliness, food, views and drinks all top tier! 👌

Rooms a little bit on the small side but clean and eye pleasing. Multiple terraces with breathtaking views. Always friendly and helpful staff. My number one hotel in Lisbon. Sometimes a little bit overpriced.

We had a most wonderful 4 day stay in this beautiful boutique hotel, tucked away on a beautiful cobble locked street in the Alfama district. Everyone was welcoming, warm, genuine, efficient & professional. Service was excellent from all members of staff. I celebrated my 60th birthday during my stay & the hotel could not have been more thoughtful & kind, making it very special for me with complimentary wine & birthday cake & candles. You feel like you are in a very warm cocoon, the modern conversion from an old bakery, respectively nodding to it's past in a very sensitive way. We just loved it. I especially loved my swim in the infinity pool the morning of my birthday. Thank you everyone!

Memmo Alfama is so chic and luxurious. The service was wonderful and accommodating—we didn’t want for anything. The breakfast has a great variety of foods and delicious coffee, fruits, and OJ. The view from the terrace is spectacular and we enjoyed tapas and wine out there. I can only imagine taking a dip in the pool in the summertime is also fantastic. We stayed in the top corner room which has nice windows that provide privacy, but when you step out on to the balcony you get the most incredible view of the rooftops of Alfama and the bay. Our room was also incredibly quiet for a city—we didn’t hear anything outside and slept like logs (I know a lot of our fellow travelers in other airbnbs and hotels in the same area of the city were kept up by loud parties so we were lucky). The street the hotel is on is a cool, dead end cobblestone road and you really feel like you’re stepping back in time. A great way to get a taste of Alfama and Lisboa!

An exceptional experience and the best way to enjoy a relaxing vacation in Lisbon. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable about the area, there's a complimentary walking tour (it took 2.5 hours, not 1 as advertised so be aware) which you should definitely take advantage of on day 1. It's in the middle of the beautiful Alfama neighborhood, but tucked quietly away from the main street.

We had a fantastic stay here. We booked a few hours before our arrival and the room was not ready upon check-in but the staff more than made up for it with drinks and gifts. Very lovely. They knew it was my wife's birthday and we arrived back from sightseeing with yet another gift. Much appreciated. The free walking tour was informative. The rooftop terrace is beautiful and one of a kind in the Alfama area. We didn't use the pool as it was a little chilly in the spring but others seemed to enjoy it. We enjoyed breakfast every morning. There is a buffet and also a menu to order from, all included in the breakfast offer. The restaurant is also on the rooftop terrace and has great drinks and pretty good tapas. We had a drink on the terrace every night and enjoyed the views. After 8pm the Alfama area is dead so if you're looking for easy access to nightlife you'll need to travel to another neighborhood, easy transport available on the nearby metro.

Fantastic boutique hotel on the heart of the Alfama district in Lisbon. Brilliant walking opportunities (try the free walking tours!) and close to the tram stops, including the historic lines. Brilliant rooms, breakfast and bar area at the hotel. Great views across the district and lovely staff. Would definitely recommend

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. But it was the terrace that really made the hotel a great place to stay. The view of Alfama and the river was worth the staff by itself. We also enjoyed the fado session as the musicians did a great job of explaining the history and techniques of the genre. All and all it was a great stay and a good value.

Everything about this made my heart happy, but especially the staff. Everyone was so kind and gracious and made our trip so memorable! The room was very comfortable, breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed drinks and tapas on the terrace. The added touches like the wellness tip book and sketchpad and pencil to inspire you while on your stay were such a nice touch. It's a gem!

A beautiful boutique hotel tucked away in a quiet alley street in Alfama. Great view from the patio area which our room had an exit to. The staff was incredible, helpful and kind, can't say enough good things about everyone that works there. If you can deal with a little bit smaller room it's worth every penny.

Beautiful quaint exquisite hotel in a great location in Alfama. Close walking distance to many great sites. People and service were wonderful. Two levels for great food and drink. Grab a drink on the terrace over looking the city and river and you'll be very pleased.

Only went for the terrace, didn’t stay the night. Food was good but the drinks weren’t great. Got 3 app plates to share and it was plenty for the 2 of us. Really nice view. Just dress warm for evening, it gets very windy and they only have limited amount of blankets to keep warm. Service is a bit on the slower side, so if you’re in a rush maybe not the best option. Otherwise good spot!!

The location and view are great. But the service at the rooftop is terrible. We had to ask multiple times for our drinks and food order that were partly forgotten, and yet we were the only customers on the rooftop at this moment. As a result, I had to eat my dish 30 minutes after the rest of the table. The manager didn’t apologize and told me it was a lack of communication on my end. With so many mistakes in our order, it’s a bit difficult to hear that.

This is a wonderful hotel for couples visiting Lisbon. The two terraces have beautiful views and the staff are friendly and very helpful. The food is delicious and the pricing is very fair. The room (42) had two walkout windows which allowed a beautiful breeze from the river. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was spacious and the water pressure was strong.

Amazing view! As someone who lives in Lisbon and knows quite some rooftops, in my opinion, this is one of the best. 1-not crowded 2-not expensive (avg. 6-7€ for a glass of good wine) 3-Friendly and helpful staff 4-A great view of the city

  • 5/5 Stephen F. 6 months ago on Google
Service excellent. We only rated room 4 stars because the view was impeded. The terrace was home throughout our visit; for breakfast, swimming, after tour cocktails and late night wind downs. The location was perfect, with many sites in walking distance, though hilly (as expected). Expensive but highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed at the Memmo Alfama for our last night of our honeymoon stay in Lisbon. It was unfortunate that we were only there for one evening because it was a wonderful experience. The hotel staff were kind and helpful, they even left sparkling wine and a sweet treat in our room when they found out it was our honeymoon. There was a little table with chairs right outside our room and the views were nothing short of spectacular. We were able to enjoy the pool and outside bar area in the afternoon. The pool temperature was perfect while enjoying the amazing views. The room itself was cozy and comfortable but, trust us, you will be spending most of your time enjoying the outdoor areas here! The location was also very convenient and we had no trouble finding places to eat and enjoy the night life and a beautiful sunset. We would definitely recommend this hotel for your trip to Lisbon!

Fantastic hotel in a great location. The staff were very helpful. The rooftop bar is perfect. We enjoyed the free walking tour they offer. The room was clean and comfortable.

Excellent stay with very quiet rooms with modern AC which actually gets cold. The terrace rooms are TINY, yes.. but the common areas more than make up for it. We slept very well there. This place blends into the Alfama and really gives you the best experience of being there. The staff are incredibly welcoming and thoughtful.

Only visited the rooftop for a drink. Amazing view, really good wines, but they are unfortunately served in plastic wine glasses. When you let your customers pay this amount of money for a glass of wine, at least offer them a real glass..

We came just for a couple of drinks at the rooftop bar. It's amazing!! Fabulous views and great drinks choices. Suuuuuper chilled vibes and exactly the foil to recharge having walked all over Alfama for several hours.

The stunning hotel is indeed hidden from the hustle and bustle of the city and it feels like an oasis of calm with one of this planet’s most impressive views. This hidden treasure in the heart of one of Lisbon’s most picturesque districts has mastered the art of local integration, offering a truly authentic Lisbon experience, excellent cocktails, perfect service, with unmatched views of Alfama and the Tagus River. Tapas can be served too on request. The interiors of the room are simple yet have all the modern amenities required for an excellent stay: a Marshall amp to connect your phone and listen to music, a large-screen TV, comfortable towels, robes and lovely well-being products for showering. The breakfast menu is simple yet delicious, and pasteis de nata are available ‘a vontade’. The morning and eating area downstairs is a perfect space for meeting new friends and enjoying conversations. Staff are friendly, speak perfect English and other languages and are very helpful. Memmo Alfama has a non-smoking policy and the pool is for guests only. There’s a gym in the lower ground floor of the hotel with all perfect installations. These colours contrast with the beautiful red-tile swimming pool and the heart of the hotel is both the gorgeous outside terrace and the cave-like dining room and breakfast / lounging interior area. So highly recommended! Book it now!

What a wonderful hotel! Stand outs for me are the staff, and the soundproofing! Spotlessly clean, with everything that you need. The terrace is wonderful, with amazing views, music weekend evenings, comfortable seating and a small pool. This can feel a little exposed, as others are sitting around eating and drinking, but it has wonderful views and free towels. There's also an outside bar, weather permitting. Special mentions need to go to Iñes, Jaime, Lucas, Domingos and all the other brilliant staff, they are what makes this hotel special! The breakfasts are delicious, feel sustainable with reusable pots and bottles, and there's no extra charge for à la carte and proper coffee! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

Unbelievable stay. Location, quality, and staff are hard to beat -- add in value for coming off-season, and it was a hit. Loved eating the breakfast every morning, waking up on the terrace seeing the views, and being greeted by incredibly friendly staff that always went above-and-beyond to help! Terrace room had a nice little window view, which was worth waking up to, even if room was a bit smaller. We were mostly adventuring and the hotel is so nice to spend time in (terrace!!) so worth the trade-off.

I had a very good stay here. Thanks to all the staff for their responsiveness, availability, kindness and tips;) The service in the restaurant was quite fast. I also really appreciated being able to enjoy the terrace at any time, quietly.

Although we only visited the rooftop bar, we really enjoyed our time there. Indoors as well as outdoors looks great. The view from the rooftop was great, including an infinity pool. The personal was extremely friendly and the food/drinks were amazing. Prices are similar to other bars, so definitely recommended to visit here!

We visited the rooftop bar. Absolutely stunning view. Drinks and food were decently priced. We were blessed to be invited to a Fado concert happening at the top bar. This was a trip highlight. The staff service was top notch. We even met the owners who were incredibly friendly. Cannot recommend this too highly. Magical evening.

I usually don't leave hotel reviews but the team at Memmo Alfama provided some of the most amazing and genuine hospitality that I have ever experienced. The staff were extremely kind, helpful, and friendly, and I want to say thank you thank you to the amazing folks who work at Memmo. You truly made my stay. Overall, this is definitely a place that pays attention to detail—from the chic and cozy interior design to the generous and diverse breakfast options, everything was made to make guests feel welcome and totally at ease. Not to mention, the location is perfect—tucked away and quiet, but just minutes away from everything you'd want to see and do in Alfama and beyond. And last but definitely not least, the terrace view over the Lisbon rooftops and water is absolutely unparalleled! It was an absolute treat to stay here and I cannot say enough good things about Memmo Alfama. I hope I can come back soon!

I really enjoyed our stay. The entrance of the hotel is situated in an out of the way street but from the pool area at the back of the hotel thers is an incredible view of Lisboa and the river Tagus. The rooms are on the small side but big enough to relax in. The poolside area with it's view is the true attraction of this hotel. The breakfast is good and the staff are very friendly.

What a great experience! There may be lots of very good hotels in Lisbon, but this is our favorite choice. A top level service by every single one in the crew, very nicely designed and maintained rooms and a spectacular view from the terrace, which makes you think about not leaving the house at all. Anyhow, if you do, the major Lisbon city attraction all are in walking distance. So if you just look for a bed to rest for the night, you may find other places. If you look for a location in itself that makes your stay in Lisbon even more special, it's a must!!

We had a great weekend in Lisbon at Memmo Alfama! Lovely hotel with a modern and classy design, great terrace with a beautiful view, really tasty food, delicious cocktails and very friendly staff members. Each and everyone was so exceptionally kind. We really felt at home away from home. A huge thank you to the hotel team.

Excellent location. Hotel is in an alley. Some rooms are a bit small. Best if you travel without large suitcase. Barely enough room to lay a large suitcase flat. If you travel with European size luggage, it is super , atmospheric and even a gym with weights and a treadmill and bike !

I didn't stay at the hotel, but visited friends and we hang outside on the terrace. Some of Lisbon most spectacular views. Beautiful views of the Tagus River and Alfama section of town.

Wonderful hotel and staff. Great location in Alfama. Breakfasts were extensive and delicious. Room was small but very comfortable. Great views from the rooftop terraces where you can eat breakfast or have drinks and tapas.

This is a fantastic hotel for couples visiting Lisbon. The terrace has beautiful views and rooms are chic. Most importantly the staff are friendly and very helpful. We would like to give special thanks to Tiago and Monika who made our stay extra special.

Just came in for coffee, left with a total, fantastic, lunch, wine and dessert experience. The rooftop is fabulous, the food is amazing, staff and personell are super friendly. They treated us with royal hospitality! A hidden gem in Lissabon!

Lovely location with great views towards the cruise ship terminal and Alfama part of town. The location is excellent to quickly access most parts of Lisbon. Staff is friendly and tries their best to accommodate the guests wishes. Rooms are in a good state and clean with a modern and cozy decor. We were very utterly disappointed with the (Christmas) dinner we had booked which was the worst meal I had in Lisbon, and that at a relatively high price considering the low food quality (2pax 150€) with cheap wine served. I would have preferred paying more and getting a good meal than dry meat, bad menu order and horrible seating. Generally the FnB seems to be very much in low season in December: the bar served great cocktails and the view is wonderful but the Beer Tap was not functional during our entire stay and the mini bar was unplugged upon our arrival. The low-lounge chairs might be fine for a 30min breakfast but for a 1h+ meal its horrible to sit squeezed in lounge chairs that are even too small for children. Breakfast options are limited but the breakfast is free so it would feel unfair to complain about it. The scrambled eggs are excellent, the “pancakes” or “crepe” are a joke and insult to either version….mixed feelings about their FnB as previously stated. If I come back to Lisbon I would consider staying at this hotel but would stay clear of any pre-booked dinners or meal offers and probably grab breakfast somewhere else. The room service burger and fries or the salmon tartar are great so some of the basics they seem to be able to get right.

We were strolling around the alfama at 7.30pm and stopped here by chance. From the terrace you can enjoy an outstanding view of the neighborhood and the tajo. We had a good bottle of wine and tapas. The stuff is very kind and attentive. The interior is accurately designed. We found no crowd despite the place may well desrve it. Definitely recommended.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Memmo Alfama. The rooms were cozy and very quiet and especially the breakfast at the roof top was our highlight of our stay. I will always choose this Hotel when staying in Lisbon.

WHAT A DREAM! Hotel Memmo Alfama recieves our highest recommendations for someones stay in Lisbon. This beautiful design hotel offers calm and relaxing atmosphere. With breathtaking views of historical panorama views of Alfama neighbourhood. Shout out to wonderful staff, Monica, Lara & Pedro for making our stay so very special.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel, so glad we chose this place. The hotel is down a narrow alley from the main road / tram route through Alfama. The hotel is perfectly located to explore Alfama on foot, with lots of bars and restaurants locally. We were greeted by a member of staff that helped to carry our cases to the hotel. Our room was ready before the stated check in time, and bags were taken up to the room for us. Our room was lovely, not big but definitely enough space. Air conditioning was effective, it was clean and modern. We found the curtain separating the glass shower partition from the bedroom an interesting choice but it's entertaining in the right company... We loved the rooftop bar / terrace, a gorgeous spot to enjoy river views and watch cruise ships when they're in. There's a small / shallow, red tiled pool which is beautiful but didn't get much use during our stay due to being a bit cold in March and and a bit public, with anyone using the terrace bar looking on. Cruise ships were in on 3 of the 6 days we were there, so we were able to watch those and also enjoy an uninterrupted view if the river during our stay, whilst drinking wine and enjoying the tapas menu. The croquettes, potato skins (with beetchup) were especially delicious. Breakfast was excellent, both the made-to-order and buffet elements. The poached eggs were perfectly poached, the crêpes are very small so ordering two is a good option. We found all staff friendly and helpful, in particular those working at breakfast and the bar, offering advice on the menu and also local activities.

Great place to have a drink on their rooftop terrace with fabulous views. We had a great Saturday evening with a DJ playing nice vibes. Service was friendly but highly understaffed.
