The unfriendly staff at the hotel, particularly the reception desk, provided a disappointing and terrible level of service. The room was not clean. Please consider other 4-star hotels in Lisbon that offer a more pleasant experience, without the frustration that comes with paying for such subpar service.

Great rooms, clean and good service. Location close to metro (blue line) and lots of restaurants in neighborhood. Breakfast is excellent.

You will not be assisted with your luggage at this hotel, especially upon check-in. There is no free water in the rooms, although this is a standard even for 2 star hotels, but you can take it for free in a gym and eat some chocolate. The bathrobe for dwarfs or children, I don't mind, but adults need it too. Have a nice stay...

we had dinner in the restaurant just after arrival and the meal was substandard for the cost and not befitting a 4 star hotel The 'croquette' was particularly unpleasant and we asked for a refund on this starter only. The manager Jose was bizarrely adamant that it was ok and that we were wrong to dislike it. He stormed off and brought the uneaten starter back to our table and they called the police!! Over an 8 euro starter!! The next morning we discussed it with the hotel manager who failed to adequately apologise for Jose's behaviour and he went on to explain that we were incorrect to dislike the starter. Aside from this very unpleasant incident, we had a few other concerns with the facilities: -the toilet paper in the room is very cheap. -we were woken up on several occasions by noise from other rooms (on different nights). -pool and sauna are on separate floors -robe and slippers provided in room are very small There are many other hotels nearby and would strongly recommend to everyone to try these before Bessa. Very disappointed.

Loved everything about this hotel. First of all the location is perfect. Walking distance from the city and next to a subway station. The rooms are very spacious, clean and the beds are amazing. We really enjoyed their lounge area with the swimming pool. The staff is very friendly and quickly replied to our emails. Will definitely choose this hotel again.

Fantastic hotel. Location in central Lisbon, on a lovely shopping boulevard lined with trees, could not be better. Easy to get everywhere! Rooms are large, clean, and quiet. The pool is a great touch: perfect for kids. Front desk staff largely wonderful, though one or two staff could be a bit surly. Breakfast is fresh and ample, and the staff there are top notch, including a wonderful omelet maker. Highly recommend.

We had superior room for our family. It was big enough, very nice decorated, with a great street view. Our kids enjoyed swimming pool, even it is very small. Position of hotel is great, easy to reach all you need to see in Lisbon. We had a rental car, so use of hotel garage was very helpful. Breakfast is good but expensive. Great hotel and hope to visit it again.

Great hotel especially for the value. Very convenient location. Spacious rooms / clean bathrooms. Gym has a sauna and a steam room, which is a nice touch.

Just came back from a 3 night stay here. Hotel was in a great location close to the action. Room was very clean and we had a triple room on the same floor as the pool. Hallways had a bit of a cruise ship feel. we were supplied with robes and slippers for pool visits. Pool area was nice with numerous lounge chairs. Bar staff was fairly friendly.

Spontaneously decided to book a room for a night via Hotel Tonight. Was excited to be staying a night at the 'luxury' location. Myself and my girlfriend arrived at midnight. We asked could we get a drink at the bar - "the bar is closed" we were told. That was disappointing. Surely if you book to stay in a top hotel, you should be able to have a drink at the bar? Especially people staying in the hotel? Especially people just checking in? The person checking in didn't seem to bothered as our shoulders dropped and just went on to tell us how we could have breakfast for 17 euros each. Can't complain about the room. It was nice, and the shower was amazing. Except... the remote control was not working very well. It was late so I was not about to call and make a deal about it... but when one falls on a hotel bed... it is nice to aimlessly flick through the TV stations. The next morning we called to ask for a late check out. The women on the other end said they couldn't because all the rooms were booked etc etc. I didn't see how that could make much a difference... and after some protest she agreed to 30 minutes extra. She spoke to me like a strict school teacher. I asked her to speak to me like a person, and then decided I may aswell highlight the issue about not being able to get a drink the night prior and the remote not working. (I was being petty at this point... but I was frustrated by the lack of flexibilty by the hotel). There was no apology, but she did say she would send someone up to fix the remote. Me and the gf went for breakfast next door (its much cheaper ;-) )... and returned an hour later to find a handyman at the door. "I'm here to look at the remote." I told him to never-mind. I didn't care that much, but I did think they would just send someone up to change the remote. I didn't think it would take an hour. Once back in the room I had a call from the woman downstairs - asking if we still wanted the remote looked at. At this stage we had about 30 minutes left in the room. Yes, I'm sure most of these issues would annoy few. And perhaps yes I sound like that annoying customer. But having managed a hotel before... I can't believe there is so little interest in satisfying guests. Had I been in a management position, I would have offered a complimentary breakfast, a discount... or at the very least given a warm apology... to stop this very review. :-) Oh... last point. There is quit a nice pool/ bar. It would be nice to sit at in the the morning and perhaps have a coffee. But its not really set up for that either. Shutting up now. It is a beautiful hotel, the staff is talented and hospitable, and the location is right in the middle of shopping, a half a block from the metro, and so many attractions. We loved our stay!

I’m not easy to please, but I honestly can’t find a single fault in Bessa. Highly recommended and I can’t imagine why I would choose any other hotel next time in Lisbon. Easy access, great parking, super well located, and a decent value at that.

We had a fantastic stay, rooms are clean, tidy and pleasant, great facilities at the hotel, breakfast was good with lots of choice. Flavio in the restraunt/bar/breakfast room was a star, lovely, helpful and friendly, a standout amongst the team at Bessa Hotel Liberdade, the location is great to explore Lisbon with Metro a few yards away, and easy walking to the tourist and historic areas.

Amazing overall! Must stay if you’re visiting Lisbon from out of the country and for the first time. Conveniently located to EVERYTHING Lisbon has to offer within walking distance. Great value and modern look and very friendly staff.

Downtown hotel. Not much of a view but we did look out to the courtyard. Location makes it fairly easy to get around but traffic is just awful most evenings. Lots of up.and down walking but it is only about a block funicular trolley to take you up and down.

Great hotel. Room was modern and chic. Was immaculately clean when I checked in. Ceilings are high which I love. I don’t feel cramped. Bathroom was wonderful and futuristic. Staff is super helpful. Checked me in a few hours early. Location is perfect for exploring Lisbon. It’s right in the middle of everything. It’s a great value, too. Nightly rate was the same as other hotels in the area but this one was super nice and I felt like it was money well spent. I think they just remodeled it or something because everything is pristine. I recommend this place if you can’t decide on a hotel.

The hotel is probably in a perfect location in Lisbon center. Everything that is there to visit is less that 10-15 min walk. The train station to Sintra is 8 minutes walk. The staff is friendly, rooms are clean and they even had a cake for my wife on her birthday.

Avoid this place! They cancelled our stay during COVID and up to this date refuse to reimbursed us.

Elegant design, perfect location, somewhat sparse service. We loved the comfortable beds, rainfall shower, private toilet, and lighting choices. There was no place to really put luggage in our triple room— maybe because of the extra bed, but it was odd. We also were surprised at how sparse the lobby staffing was— always one person who was nice but sometimes missing, and there was no door or luggage help. We enjoyed our stay and would probably go back— maybe this was just an off day.

Truly enjoyed our stay (family of 4) in the BessaHotel. We had a family room which is basically 2 separate rooms that are interconnected providing lots of space (and 2 separate bathrooms which can speed up getting dressed in the morning :-). Staff were very friendly, both upfront when I had lots of questions due to covid, as well as during our stay. Also the location is very good. You are right in the center of everything and if you want to go little further, there's a metro in front of the hotel. If I would go to Lisbon again, I would for sure stay again in the BessaHotel.

The concierge team were very helpful and friendly. Perfect for convenience to the underground tram. Nearby shops and within walking distance of many points of interest. Great place to stay while you tour the country and all it has to offer.

Well planned and located for business travelers. Photos are accurate and details in the rooms well thought out. Pool/workout area is quite small. Staff are super nice and helpful. Breakfast and restaurant are both great with generous options.

Beautiful room with a gorgeous bathroom!! Super clean! The breakfast was good value for money and they gave a unlimited 20% voucher for all other food and drink. Fantastic customer service, reception helpful and friendly, gave realistic recommendations to the city. Would recommend 100% and stay again.

Location, location, location. And comfort (the mattresses and the insonorisation are perfect). And the staff is helpful, kind and professional. The hotel is ideally located in the heart of Lisbon, near public transportation and almost everything. The views are also fantastic (Castelo do Mouros from 5th floor). The pool is small but after a day walking in Lisbon very much appreciated. The breakfast is quite good. I would definitely recommend the hotel. Thank you all for making our stay so memorable.

Great hotel with amazing location. Great service and great value for the breakfast. Our only complaint was about the cleaning service, our sheets was reorganized but not replaced and the floor was a bit dirty. If it is important to you you should ask especially from the front desk or cleaning service staff

Very chic hotel, great for an overnight stay as we had a 24-hour layover in Lisbon. Would definitely recommend and stay again! Right in the middle of downtown great for walking around and lots of restaurant and shopping around!

Great location. Modern but in a traditional tired building. Clean. Friendly staff. World class hotel. Highly recommend. Also one of the few places with 2 double beds.

We stayed at this location because of the convenience to the city center however I recommend staying at a place that has take away boxes if you don’t plan on sitting and eating for every meal in its entirety. Unfortunately some companies save the two cents on boxes to make more food waste “and Money” by not giving customers options to take food to your room and save it in your refrigerator. (No Microwave either) The breakfast looked great unfortunately I run in the morning and don’t eat until 3pm so I couldn’t enjoy it later……. Ouch I just wasted money on the breakfast option. So if you run a workout in the morning and don’t eat I recommend staying at Tivoli down the street they also have a gym and boxes!! Ciao

We loved this hotel, very modern, location and staff! Specially Raquel at the front desk, she made us feel like home, by greeting us everyday in hebrew which was so thoughtful of her, helped us with every question with kindness!

Excellent hotel, clean rooms, VERY friendly staff. Breakfast is a buffet, and has a good selection but so-so on quality and taste. It also doesn't change day-to-day so you may be better off saving your money and eating somewhere on the street. The location couldn't be better, steps to the metro and easy access to everything. Would stay again.
