Absolutely loved this hotel, it was a 5 star experience but at a very reasonable price. Service was exceptional and personalized with handwritten notes, the room was spotless and well air conditioned, location was unbeatable, the free breakfast was restaurant quality, and the rooftop bar had a better view than most viewpoints around the city. Would stay here again without hesitation. The only non-ideal thing was the room window design -- it is a 2ft thick small portal that you can't really see anything through, so it makes the room feel a bit like an underground cell; may just be a design constraint because the hotel is built into a historic building. Either way it did not affect my stay since I wandered the street outside everyday and didn't need to see it from my room.

Don’t get fooled with thier 5 stars rating online. The customer service is sub-par to worst. We got here around 10 pm and we made a reservation for my kid and my mom and my husband (3 adults and one kid), but they told us we made a reservation for 2 adults, and that we should resolve the issue with booking.com. At first the front desk person checked us in and then he took us to the room and all of the sudden he said we can’t give you the room and you need to pay for another room, and we can’t add an extra bed for the night as its not available. This back and forth went to the point of becoming a scary situation to the extent that we were asked to pay for another room or leave the hotel with no refund on cancellation. My kid started crying as she was scared and exhausted after a really long flight with this situation unfolding, and it was pretty traumatic. After about one hour they brought their manager and they said we will give you a good rate for the second room and the EU laws are strict about additional capacity. So, basically we had no other choice and we needed to pay for another room. It seems still that this is a tricky way to get more money from guests (in our case +$1000s). Be careful when you get here. The location is great, (and probably the reason for the good rating) but the service is terrible to say the least.

Hosted a welcome party at the hotel’s rooftop for my wedding and everything, from the service to the views was perfect. Goncalo, Romano, and the whole team are professional and very easy to work with. I highly recommend stopping here for a drink or spending a few days at the hotel (the rooms with private rooftop terraces seem amazing). We can’t wait to return!

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel has a perfect location, although it is located at the top of a steep hill. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The rooftop bar was amazing. It was a comfortable place to relax at the end of the day. The wait staff were very happy to share their knowledge of Portuguese wines. The view of the city from the bar was stunning. A great place to enjoy a glass of wine and take in the views. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had a beautiful terrace that over looked the city. This hotel is a jewel in Lisboa's crown!

This hotel proved to be a hidden Gem experience! Great location with own super rooftop. Welcomed by very kind and professional staff. The same standard everywhere. Super recommendations & booking assistance for restaurants, escapes etc from serviceminded staff! Clean and excellent rooms, super breakfast in super rooftop location overviewing the city. Great rooftop regarding both location and service. Highly recommended and will definitely stay there next time as well. No reason to look for alternatives.

We loved our stay at Hotel Do Chiado. Our roots was with a terrace view of the city and it was super spacious. The bed was very large and very comfortable. There were very comfy slippers and robes. They left some pastries and port to enjoy upon arrival and we enjoyed them on our porch during sunset which was wonderful. We had wine and snacks on the rooftop bar which had live music and we highly recommend that as well. Breakfast was very delicious. The hotel is in a great area. We walked everywhere in the city and only bolted/ubered to Belem/Lx factory. We would recommend staying with Hotel do Chiado and would love to stay again.

My mom and I were taken so well care of during our stay at Hotel do Chiado! The staff were so helpful to us while during the four nights we stayed. They helped to coordinate a missed tour we had, accommodated us by giving us a two-bed room, and even picked up a lost item left in a room for us. When we left for a stay in a different city, they held onto our large luggage for us. Their restaurant staff were also very nice to us during our stay, and helped give recommendations on drinks :) The location is great and I would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Stayed for 3 night during a recent visit to Lisbon. Would recommend as very helpful and friendly staff with excellent command of English language. Big clean rooms and we had our own terrace with stunning views of the castle, the river and part of the city. Great breakfast selection and also a roof top bar. Location is ideal for getting around as bang in the centre of Chiado and ten minutes from lots of great places to visit and the central square etc. Would highly recommend.

Thank you to Reception staff Senhor Alberto Senhor & Levi who are the most wonderful people and looked so well after us. They gave us Tipps regarding booking a taxi and where to eat. We really appreciated their dedication, they had always time for us. The Hotel is spotless clean & very quiet, even during renovation there was no noise. We booked 9 nights the premium room and it was worth every Euro! The view is breathtaking. Even you are in the buzzing Chiado district, it is very quiet. We loved breakfast in bed. A nice touch was the cake, which changed every day, wow, artisan handmade. Try the “American coffee”. The Cleaning lady Condy did a fantastic job; each day we had a nice room spray, we want to say a special thank you Cindy 😍 The premium room is big, walk in shower (no bath) and the bed was twice of a king size bed. Mattress firm and 2 pillows per guest. We slept very well. We will come back again next year, 10 stars from Germany 🇩🇪 and Portugal 🇵🇹

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful hotel last week. Made beautiful by the staff! We were celebrating my birthday and our anniversary and the entire team could not be more accommodating and warm. The room we stayed in had a street view with a balcony. The location is very ideal and bustling, without being intrusive. Walkable to many attractions, restaurants and shopping. The rooftop bar/restaurant has an expansive and breathtaking view. It closes earlier than I would like, but the service is good. We would stay here again and recommend that you do as well. See you again Hotel Do Chiado. Obrigado! 🙂

I was going to deduct a star because of the lack of air conditioning (more on that in a moment), but I just can't do it. The fact is, the hotel is too nice, the staff too courteous, the location too perfect, for me to give it anything less than 5 stars. But yes, the air conditioning... simply wasn't working. We visited in February, but the weather was warm by our Boston standards and the hotel seemed to retain and produce its own warmth, probably from adjacent rooms, so when we first arrived, our room was about 80 degrees F - waaay too stuffy for us to get a good night's sleep. We tried turning it down, but could not get anything other than warm air to blow out of the vents. We called the front desk and the staff were very apologetic and accommodating. They moved us to a different room (frankly, it was a nicer, larger room on the quieter side of the building). The bad news was that the vents in the new room also only blew out warm air, but at least in that room we could open the balcony windows wide and let in the cool night breeze. Unfortunately, this meant that fellow guests from adjacent rooms could have easily entered our room while we slept, but we didn't get robbed or murdered, so it all worked out, LOL. My suspicion is that, because the week we stayed there was unusually warm for February, the hotel simply hadn't turned on the compressors yet, so it was impossible to get conditioned air. If it were any other hotel, I would definitely deduct a star (at least), but the truth is, AC aside, everything else was absolutely perfect. Hotel do Chiado is a beautiful hotel, well maintained, and staffed by super kind and courteous people. Everyone at the front desk, as well as breakfast and room service were all super pleasant and attentive. Beds were large and comfortable and the rooms were spacious. Location is awesome, with primo shopping, museums, and lots of excellent restaurants within short walking distance (as long as you don't mind the hills). There is a metro station pretty much in the basement of the hotel. All in all, we had a fabulous time in Lisbon and will definitely return some day. And yes, I would absolutely stay at Hotel do Chiado again, although I might ask in advance if the AC is working!

My wife and I stayed here for four nights. The hotel location is perfect and right in the middle of everything you want to do in Lisbon. Our room was fantastic with views of the castle and water as well as a nice balcony overlooking the streets. The rooftop bar and garden was great as well as the incredible breakfast the hotel puts on every morning. What stands out though is the amazing staff. From start to finish the staff goes overboard to help and make your stay a truly memorable one.

I went with friends to the rooftop bar, for an aperitif in the afternoon. A very warm and friendly welcome from Alex, great cocktails and tasty finger food!! Great views of beautiful Lisbon

Besides being in the middle of everything which makes so easy to walk all over Lisbon! We got the suite which overlooks the city and the water! Absolutely beautiful ! And the breakfast buffet is also stellar !

As others have already said Hotel do Chiado is a brilliant hotel to act as your base in Lisbon. Great location, large rooms, great air con and fantastic terrace bar. All of the staff have that quintessential Portuguese warmth and professionalism. No better way to start your evening in Lisbon than with Pedro and the terrace bar team, taking in the stunning view of the beautiful city. Don't let the evening breeze put you off, they will offer you blankets and the warmest of welcomes

Hotel do Chiado did not disappoint ! The staff is very friendly and attentive, the room is very clean and spacious but the best part was the balcony : the view of Lisboa was stunning , one of the best views and rooftops of the city ! The breakfast was really good too ! I definitely recommend this hotel !

Very nice location. Rooftop bar a bit off. Stone dead at 10pm. In Lisbon. Anyway try to get room 712. Perfect corner room with a terrace and breath taking view. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We didn’t stay at the hotel but we had food and drinks on the rooftop. Spectacular views (some of the best in Lisbon I think) and it so peaceful and quiet. Food was good but nothing amazing…definitely worth it for a drink and view though!

My husband and I took a baby moon to Lisbon and wanted to stay somewhere with a view and central to many attractions. Hotel do Chiado did not disappoint! The room was spacious and clean, in a perfect location walking distance to many attractions, restaurants, and neighborhoods. We opted for a room with a balcony and spent many mornings and nights with a drink or snack enjoying the view. We also enjoyed the buffet style breakfast in the mornings. The offering and variety was delicious. The staff was attentive and friendly. We were able to leave our luggage before check in time, and by the time we arrived back from a day of sightseeing, they had already dropped our bags off into our room! We'd recommend Hotel do Chiado to anyone looking for a great stay and will definitely come back next time we visit Lisbon.

We stayed here in the last week of Nov 2023. This hotel is in an excellent location, next to a shopping mall, Santa Justa Lift, Rua Augusta, with all kinds of restaurants and shops all-around. Our room had a balcony, with the best view. The rooms were spotless, and staff was very helpful. On our checkout day, we needed to leave around 7am for our flight. Even though their breakfast time was 7:30am and onwards, they had 2 perfect mini breakfast bags ready at the reception for us to take out. They called the taxi for us, from the company they work with for many years. The driver was very calm with very safe driving skills and shared with us some interesting facts about the city. We will definitely stay here in future!

Just finished a great few days in Lisbon. Was here before but will be making this hotel my forever future place to stay. Apart from the great central location for walks and public transport, the staff were super friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean with great views and the breakfast was excellent. Note: If here a Benfica match, the underground Metro to the stadium is a few mins walk. Will definitely be back.

What a great view.7th floor room with terrace overlooking the city - couldn't be better

Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Location good. Breakfast was superb. The only thing that let it down is the rooftop bar which was closed for private functions without warning and where the staff were slow and not welcoming.
