Well there were no rats or bugs which is the best I can say. I've stayed in 4 other similar price hostels in the past month and Terrace Lisbon was the worst one I've seen. FYI check in is cash only, the owner told me to go find the multibanco at the end of the street. The bathroom has black mold everywhere and smells like sewage as soon as you turn on the water. There is no soap and no paper towels at the sinks (I left out the empty soap cartridge on the counter multiple times and staff just put it back still empty), and both dispensers are broken. The locks both on the front door of the building and to the actual rooms are broken and very difficult to lock and unlock as the actual frame of the locks aren't actually attached to the door, and the keys are like big toy fairytale keys, just decoration and no actual security. The walls are so thin that even in the private rooms you can hear the person in the room next to you snoring all night. There is no heat and no air conditioning in the rooms, it was freezing cold in my room in January. There is never anyone at the reception desk, I gave my room key to a cleaning lady to check out. The construction workers from the building next door come in to use the hostel bathrooms. Just go somewhere else, if you're trying to experience Lisbon then Belém and LXFactory are good for a day trip but sleep somewhere closer to Rossio Square. Belém is a really rough area.

After several terrible exsperiences in Lisbon at very bad hostel. Prices even at the worst ones really high now. So arriving to a hostel like this one is really truly liberating, relaxing and as a hostel should be. The owner is super nice, polite & flexible. We made a good reduction in the price (as I am a full-time traveler and therefore do not spend the night as a tourist. I "stay" significantly longer than usual in hostels) we were both satisfied with. In addition to that, there are good vibes here, clean, 2 bathrooms/toilets, a nice kitchen and, not least, a cozy courtyard where you, as a smoker, like the undersigned, can have a cigarette or just sit and enjoy yourself. Can really recommend this place and I have been in Many hostels over decades now. In addition to this is the location in Belém. One of the most beautiful places in Lisbon. The place tourists make a pilgrimage to both currently and of course also in the high season. 5 stars out of 5 from here 👍

Great location! Walking distance to a number of attractions, esp St Jerome Monastery. Excellent service! Patricia is super communicative and understanding. The hostel has an impressive entrance stairs. The terrace looks nice, but I never used it as a non smoker. The private room is a bit small and the bunk bed too low that I bumped my head frequently (I'm 5'3). The structure is too old and layout undesirable. It seems to me that the hostel is in need of a major renovation

The location was great, and the service was good. My issues lie in the amount of black mold found through the building. There was moisture/mold in our room on the ceiling. There also was an undersized fan for the bathroom. As seen in the pics there is mold in the showers and on the sink top. This all can be easily removed and fixed, yet no one seems to see it. I know it was a cheap hostel, but that should not be am excuse for health concerns.

The location is in the Heart of the Belém district right next to the Jerónimos Monastery, and Lisbon’s most famous ‘Pastel de Belém’. Patrícia the hostess is exceptionally friendly and goes beyond her means to make your stay there enjoyable.

Hostel well located in a very cool environment. Clean bathroons Beds very comfortable. I was able to rest quietly and have a great breakfast before my check out

Friendly staff, even at 02:15AM (sorry) 😅 Clean rooms. Kitchen and bathroom is ok. Big fridge and freezer, nobody touched our stuff. Big terrace at the back which is great for breakfast and evening chill. Very small terrace from the room, good for a morning stretch, not much else. Not much going on in the common area - good for some quiet time. Excellent ratio of price and quality. 💫

Its absolutely a lovely place, the terrace is magnificent and the rooms are clean. Overall all the building is perfectly maintained, wooden floor and new excellent furniture. Its very quite, and the environment safe. Is suitable for travellers or family that are looking a relaxing and comfortable place where to stay. Breakfast is superb!

Not a particularly nice place, cold tiny showers, bad location unless you have a car. Avoid

Nettes Personal jedoch selten vor Ort; Bett super unangenehm und hart; leider sehr hellhörig, durch Spalt an der Türe, wodurch man das Gefühl hat man könnte die Türe auch auflassen und es wäre genauso laut; dadurch leider kaum Schlaf möglich gewesen; Zimmerausstattung sonst okay auch restliche Ausstattung ausreichend; Föhn sollten noch zur Verfügung gestellt werden

Good safe neighbourhood but there was very limited service at the hostel; no one around to help for vast majority of the time & the one man we saw a few times (briefly) couldn’t speak English. There were full ashtrays left around, the patio was in disrepair and the small kitchens & bathrooms weren’t great. Suggest the managers change the dish cloths and sort out the water on the floor in the bathrooms. You need to get a metro from the airport and THEN the 728 bus. I wouldn’t stay here again, but if you do: Good luck.

Great place to spend a night or two, well located and affordable.

This was the nicest place we stayed at in Portugal... Every room was well finished off... Clean and tidy... And the staff were a joy.. Super helpful and friendly

Great place to stay... really fair prices for the excellent service that they provide. The cleanliness it's amazing and also the outdoor space. The breakfast have fresh products and it never run out in my staying. It's quiet and friendly.

This review is aimed to penalize the way this hostel dealed with this reserve that I made 1 month ago. 1 week before the stay the hostel just cancelled the reserve due, they say, a OVERBOOKING. Cancel would not be done just one week before saying that the choice was from #booking not from hostel mistake.

Very reasonable price and very very good location if you want to visit the Jerónimos monastery, the Belém tower and the padrão dos descobrimentos. All these monuments are very near by walking

Rooms are small and cosy apart of that location is very good free car parking in front of it.

Unser Aufenthalten war eine pure Enttäuschung. Es gab Bettwanzen und Schimmelbefall im Zimmer geschweige von den zusätzlichen hygienischen Mängeln. Wir hatten ernsthafte Bedenken bezüglich unserer Gesundheit, einfach nur inakzeptabel !!

Der Besuch hier hat uns unseren Urlaub zerstört. Wir hatten ein großes Problem mit Bettwanzen, die sich danach in unserem Gepäck befanden. Wir hatten überall Bisse und haben nichts erstattet bekommen. Es war eklig und unangenehm. Das ganze Hostel war nicht sauber und es gab Schimmel an den Wänden.
