My partner and I stayed one night so we could be close to the airport for our flight back home. Our private room was lovely! Super cozy bed, decent amount of space, and we really appreciated having our own bathroom in the room. We appreciated the lockers to keep our valuables for extra safety, just took 1€ that you get back after use. The staff were very accommodating for letting us drop off our bags before our check in AND for letting us hang out in the common areas and keep our bags there long after our check out when our flight got delayed by 12 hours! We are super grateful to have been able to use their space in the short time we were there, next time we'd love to stay longer to take part in all of the fun scheduled activities!

There will be some one in the kitchen to tell you stop wasting water. The lady who was making soup. Maybe she is the owner of the hostel? It happened to me when I was checking the tap water in the kitchen if it's cold enough to drink. Well I'm not a kid to waste water nor to explain myself what I'm doing. Other than that it's okey hostel. 🙄

This is a nice hostel and you can feel that the staff are making an effort for it to be a good experience. It's clean, there is a nice breakfast, snacks in the evening, and apparently some activities... unfortunately, this hostel is also a victim of its own success. It's just too crowded. Too many people crammed into a small space. Dorms are completely full. Breakfast feels like being on the subway: so many people it's hard to even move, finding a space at the table is a challenge. This environment is a hindrance to social atmosphere, you don't feel like talking when you are all mentally fighting for space. There is no peace or serenity to be found here.

This place was awesome!! Breakfast was huge and an actual breakfast. I met so many awesome people too. The rooms were big and clean. My bunk had a curtain I could close with my own personal fan, outlet, and light. They also have water, juices, theme nights, etc. Highly recommend!!

Best hostel in Lisbon, I stayed at different hostels during the years and always come back to the central hostel. Amazing staff, amazing location and comfortable beds with curtains for a great sleep. My favorite thing about the place? The lovely staff serves free home cooked food to try the excellent Portuguese cuisine. The pictures show the Tapas, which are also served for free every Wednesday. Overall extremely good value for price, highly recommended for travelers.

This is the best hostel I’ve stayed in by far (and we’ve stayed in about six during our Europe trip)! The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. There are multiple, well-decorated sitting rooms. The vibes are fantastic. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable with little fans mounted onto the wall. The showers are as expected for a hostel. The free breakfast is actually decent with several different breads, fruits, cereals, cheese, ham, juice, a few different spreads and freshly cooked pancakes. Free dinner is also provided a few times a week (we had a lovely pasta). There’s also a packed social calendar and lots of information about attractions/food in the different districts of Portugal and how to get there. The location is perfect, and only a few minutes walk to the nearest metro station (Marquês de Pombal). Only constructive feedback I can give would be that the metal lockers in the room can be quite noisy to move luggage in and out of so I didn’t end up using them and one of the showers has a moldy smell (none of the others did). Overall, we loved Lisboa Central Hostel. This hostel has won a few awards and I can see why. We were very impressed!

What a pleasant surprise! Besides breakfast there are even snacks in the evening provided. The hostel has different common rooms where people can meet and thus provides great socialising possibilities. In fact conversations with all kind of different people were so good, that you don't want to leave the hostel. Some final facts: The bathrooms and beds were good. Only the bed curtains are not completely blocking the light.. So you might wake up when someones coming in.

This is a busy hostel with really strict staff. People constantly coming in and out, so much it’s not very peaceful with such high turnover. Staff has 0 empathy or tolerance, I had to cancel a reservation 48 hours before (15 minutes after their deadline) and they not only kept my money despite the room was sold to someone else, but also charged me 10 EUR for storing my bag in their luggage room. They were also really aggressive about the whole thing, was a real bummer to end my trip in Portugal like this. It’s clearly all money and business, no concept of human kindness or customer service. Just collect cash at the expense of how you make someone feel or talk to them.

Superb Hostel! My friend and I had a great experience there. Very friendly staff (Amanda & Diogo were our hosts, all staff is excellent), great breakfast, they provide a lot events during the day, and we had some snacks with everyone in the evening, every day. Super cool experience. Definitely, we are going to come back!

This was the perfect place to stay in Lisbon! It is a simple place but it has everything you need for a welcoming, warm and clean accommodation. The bathrooms are cleaned multiple times a day, the beds are comfortable and the service provides great breakfasts and activities with an abundance of ways to meet people and have great conversations. The reception is 24/7 and had fantastic recommendations for an enjoyable stay with good eats and great adventures. I highly recommend at least starting your trip in Lisbon here for a nice community and home.

It seems they really care to give us a cool experience. The location is perfect and very near to the underground and the bus stops. The price is cheap. Sometimes they were offering to customers something in the kitchen, for example yesterday they offered us a tasty soup. The breakfast is good and with a lot of choice, and pancakes are delicious. I was in a 6 beds room. The beds have a private tent (very useful when everybody has different times to enter and leave the room). The hostel organises also a lot of activities, like as a city tour and surf lesson.I can't give an opinion on these The workers were always friendly and kind. November is also a good month to go there: the temperature is fresh, but enough warm for a cool surf experience. If I come back to Lisbon, I'll surely consider to stay in this hostel again.

I've stayed in many hostels around Europe but this is one of the best if not the best I found so far. Clean, friendly, quiet and fun! The location also it's perfect. Amazing team work and nice people. Hope to comeback soon!

This place is one of the best hostels I have ever been in terms of security and cleanliness. Each person has a locker in their room. The breakfast is included and really nice (homemade pancakes and fresh orange juice). They also offered me a shot of a typical portuguese liquor when I arrived. You can also participate to pub crawls (22€) and walking tours (for free). They always an activity at night which is really good to meet new people. The only weak point is that not a lot of people are staying in the common areas during their free time. Highly recommended!

Spacious rooms with individual lockers and privacy curtains. Full breakfast and organized activities like walking tour, pub crawl, movie night. Close to subway and bus stations for routes in all directions. Nice staff with detailed orientation at check-in

The reception was friendly and efficient with a guided tour inside to know the different spaces, services and rules of the House. Information about the city and visits was also given by the staff. A wonderful carrot soup at night was offered to all guests making it feel like home. Thank you I had a warm eventhought short stay

The place is clean, the rooms are big and well laid out, the staff is very friendly, and the location is very convenient (near the metro), and not too far from the airport. Excellent value.

Value for money is not good. We paid huge ammount of money for 2 nights. Had a room with private bathroom. Shower is small, rooms next to ours were very loud, breakfast although “free” has very few options to choose from. We had a car and asked for parking advice on sunday. They didnt even mention that parking is free on sunday, told us that they have garage for additional money. Postive : location is okay, some of the staff are nice, some are less nice.

This is the first hostel I ever stayed at and it set the bar high! I did 5 hostels in total, none of them compared to this experience: the people, dorms, bathrooms, common rooms, and social nights. At first, I wasn't sure because I never did hostels before. The 4 person mixed dorm I stayed at had curtains, lockers (1 euro deposit which you get back), enough spaces where 1 or 2 people could be packing and someone could still walk around, and 3 small bathrooms shared with a few other dorms but there are multiple bathrooms on the same floor so I never had to wait to use the shower or toilette. They have social events every night at the hostel like milkshake nights, movie nights etc. The main floor is structured in a way where there are many rooms to just sit and chat with other travellers but you can also choose to be by yourself. Plus the kitchen is spacious and they play great music in there ;) The staff are super friendly and make sure you know your way around the city. There are also free walking tours and pub crawls (for a fee) you can join. If I were to go to Lisbon, I'd stay here again!

Excellent location very close to many places, ATMs, metro station is super close. Great atmosphere to chill out whenever you don’t feel like going out, safe, breakfast 🥞 provided everyday. Various rooms to rest, watch movies 🎥 and mingle with other guests. Great hostel.

Had a fantastic time here for five nights, staying in a 10-bunk dorm. Staff were all very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The hostel is the best equipped of any I’ve stayed at, great kitchen and lots of common areas with a TV and game console, board games, books, and a guitar. Everything was always kept clean, and I felt very safe the whole time. Lockers are provided in the dorms (you have to put in a 1€ coin to lock them but it comes out when you open them again) for valuables, I was able to fit a 42L backpack in one with some pushing. My only complaint is that the power outlet/USB ports (provided on every bunk) were in rough shape. My outlet worked but USB ports did not, and one of the people in my party didn’t have either functional. Location is also great, it’s easy to get to anything nearby on foot, and there’s a metro stop just up the road. Very glad that we decided to stay here and I hope to come back.

Cleanest hostel I've ever been in. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The internet was insanely fast. The night I went they were giving free dinner, chestnuts and unlimited Sangria. Consider this place if seeking a hostel in Lisbon.

Excellent atmosphere, lots of free food which brings everyone together! I met tons of amazing people here and staff were very accommodating when I extended my booking multiple times. Multiple other people also extended or were returning guests while I was there. Rooms were good, location was good too (right next to metro station, and barrio alto was within walking distance) thanks for a great stay!

staff are super nice and the breakfast is seriously amazing. Pancakes, cereals, bread, juice, and pastries. the coffee machine makes a lovely cappuccino or americano, hot chocolate. they had black tea but wish they had a few more selections! they also have a mini bar which costs €1-3/drink. Rooms are nice, with lockers (need 1 euro coin to operate), and curtains on the beds. there were fans and personal lights but the fan was super noisey and didn’t feel like i could use it. Vibes are great, staff is super cool, and so were the guests. There are so many different common areas (although i do wish one of them was more of a designated “work place/quiet zone” without TV). great hostel, did hear a staff member complaining he had no space in the fridge so whoever that was i hope they get you some space in a fridge!!!

Amazing hostel that is probably the cleanest one I've ever stayed in (bathrooms are cleaned often). Would recommend and would stay again :) It is out of the city core (which I wanted), but has plenty of good restaurants and sites in walking distance.

I was in the single room for one night. Check-in was fine, the young lady explained and showed me really all things of common areas and what I needed to know. Bed was simple and bit saggy, shared bathroom okay (you cannot expect much for this price). Breakfast was great, I got extra soy milk, there were cereals, oranges, apples and bananas. Bred with peanut butter was also nice. And I had great discussion to other guests. If you don't expect too much comfort this is a great place to stay. Some sightseeing things are around but to Baixa and the sea you have to walk few kilometers.

This place is well-located, has a great staff, and there are many extras (e.g., they'll do laundry for you) which make it more like a hotel. I'd definitely stay there again.

This one of my favourite hostels. Real value for money, clean, excellent comfortable dorm with curtains, light, charger each bed and space in room to move around and pack your bags. Bathroom in room clean and heaps of extra toilets and showers around . Heaps of common rooms and nice kitchen with great breakfast included. Location is great too. Only let down was the service. When the manager was there he was very friendly and helpful and the guy next to him also. But when the manager not around they barely look at you.one girl didn't even move her head for like a minute before deciding to attend me only to tell me to wait again again while she finish doing paperwork..ahh guest comes first lady. The other guy too as well not smile. Only did when boss around. The girls who clean up and work in kitchen very friendly and smiley. They offer good safe storage room for your luggage too. Would definitely recommend just hope they improve that friendliness and making guests feel more welcome. Then could almost be perfect.

Great atmosphere. We were greeted with a compulsory drinks and even got free soup and bread in the evening! They also offer free tapas/milkshakes/.. on specific days. I really recommend it! The room was neat and clean, there's AC and a lot of common areas just to chill (:

I've never been in an hostel before, and I was afraid about like sharing bathroom. But I have to say that I'm impressed with the cleaning of the place. Rooms were quite good (air conditioning there is like a ++). I must say that the location isn't great, because all the fun is at least 2km away, more near the coast

  • 5/5 Evanthia V. 1 year ago on Google
Had an amazing time in this hostel. I stayed in a mixed 4 person dorm and had no issues (I'm a woman and felt very safe here). Their rooms provide curtains, lockers and ac. The hostel was very clean and tidy and the bathrooms were cleaned daily. I met so many amazing travellers here, the ambiance is great and social! They plan activities for the guests such as sangria night, free ice cream, day trip to Sintra..etc.. which is a great way to meet other people. The staff are very accommodating and suggested so many places to visit while in Lisbon. Definitely recommend this place!!

This is one of the best hostels I ever stayed in! They have a kitchen for you to prepare your food, 24/7 reception, washing machines, events etc really great place. Also we had such a nice room!

This is the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in! The location is strategic to reach the center and close to metro lines to get to the airport and anywhere in Lisbon. The staff was really helpful and friendly, they host many activities to gather in communal spaces that are just super nice and also give advice about everything going on in the city and surroundings. Rooms were neat and comfortable (bed bunks with curtains, lights, fan and personal little cupboard as well as lockers to store stuff in the room that work with coins and the key it provides) . Free Breakfast is huge and delicious and surprisingly available long hours than others.

One of the BEST hostels I have stayed in. I love the 4 bed dorm options, it really allows you to connect with your roommates and create friendships. Extremely clean rooms and bathrooms! They provide lockers in each for 1 euro which you get back when you leave. All staff are wonderful and were very helpful with questions about activities in Lisbon! I highly recommend this place!!

I booked a private room, the wall had mold and the room was absolutely reeking of it. I asked to change to a different room, they claimed they had no more private rooms available despite hostelworld displaying four private rooms free that night. They put me in a dorm instead and refused to refund the difference. The staff is extremely unfriendly the minute you have any problem. I highly recommend you stay away from this place.
