Its an ok place for a single traveler to stay a couple nights. I certainly wouldn't bring a wife or girlfriend here or she will be breaking up with you soon after. So what did I like and not like? The bathroom was surprisingly clean except for the shower curtain which was covered in black mold spots. They are making at least 600€ a day profit so they shouldn't have a problem with buying a new one for 10€ once a month (or get a fabric one that resists mold). Also the toilet seat wasn't attached to the toilet. Fix it or buy a new one. They're cheap. Spend a little money for a better guest experience. You are making excellent profit here so spend a tiny bit every month keeping it up. As for my room it was decently clean. The mattress was low quality (you can feel the springs) but not too terrible. I did manage to sleep 8 hours in a row so it couldn't have been that bad. I'm just shocked and happy there were no bedbugs. Frequently low priced places like this have them but I didn't get any bites. It's a miracle! My room in the back would be improved if it had a mirror and some shelving (+ a luggage rack). The only mirror is in the bathroom and it's for short people. I had to bend over awkwardly to see in it to shave or style my hair. The towels were decently white and seemed new but were thin. I can take that for a couple nights. No big deal. The place was reasonably quiet except for the cooing pigeons out back. Nothing they can do about that. I should also mention there is no elevator and you have to climb 67 stairs to get to the place. I just view it as a form of exercise but anyone older or weak with heavy bags might complain. There is a kitchen. I didn't use it but the African guy staying in another room sure did. Three hours listening to him cook and eat a meal. Grrrrr. Later he comes back and is cooking just before midnight when I'm trying to sleep. You have to deal with annoying people like this in a hostel. It wouldn't be bad but my room was right beside the kitchen. So overall it was an adequate experience. Its not as bad as some have described. If they improved just a few things it could be even better. It will never be The Ritz Carlton or the Four Seasons but its not pretending to be. You usually can't expect an amazing place at this low price point. You have to grade it on a scale. I just wanted something cheap, clean and well located with no bedbugs. That's what I got.

I stayed in Alfma Guest House for more than 3 weeks. Rooms are clean, comfortable & cozy. Amazing sea view from the window. Nice music around the street. All facilities are there : Kitchen fully equipped. Hot water all the time. Super wi-fi! Staff is so generous & helpful 😊 It’s location is MARVELLOUS in the centre-hub of the city.

Alles ok.

The location of this place is really good as its close to everything. Unluckily it wasn't the cleanest place. We had to use the shared bathroom but the bathtub wasn't clean. The bath curtain was dirty and was moldy ... The kitchen was useful but also dirty... Beds were okay, the big bed was tilted and it wasn't too comfortable. I wouldn't recommend it to be honest. You'll find cheaper options with better quality.

A good place you will find at this price. Nice bed, a lot of room, kitchen, nice shower, friendly owner, etc. And an awesome location. Very good experience here!

The worst experience ever, one star is too much. Room has no windows, there was NO RUNNING WATER for days. The kitchen consists of one sink and there is a constant disgusting smell. The room is on the fifth floor with no elevator. I would strongly recommend to get something different. The only redeeming quality is the location and the decent cleanliness.

The location is very good, but unfortunately there was no running water for 2 days and no window in the twin room! Also a washing machine and a kitchen was promised, but there was just a sink. The 30€ are not worth it to stay there under these conditions.

Well, let’s start with the beginning. The checkin was messy. I picked up the key from downstairs at the souvenir shop/where I left it as well. The owner I talked with was nice but wasn’t prepared to give me the infos I needed. The entrance door is a nightmare!!!!! Once I stayed 5 mins because it was impossible to open. The position is great in my opinion. The “guest house” which is an apartment is situated at the third floor. The WiFi connexion is very good. The room I had (#1) was a double one and it was clean. I didn’t use the towels because they looked over washed. The room i had was quiet. However the other part of the apartment is a mess, but not in the dirty way necessarily. There are two toilets, one of the can’t be used because you can be seen by the neighbors. And the other.. well I couldn’t find the switch. It’s a good place, but it needs improvements.

The guy who received us demanded 8€ “city tax” on top of the fees; We had already paid in advance for the room. He lied to us about that.

The worst place to stay in Lisbon.

Try to avoid this place , it’s horrible. I believe the reviews with “positive” comments are created by owner friends. For 3 nights 167€ , it was impossible to stay there , pictures are a lie, have nothing to do with the reality. I needed to cancel because of the horrible “accommodation”. They have a rule of 50% commission in case of not show or cancel. They make money from cancellations, actually a smart business. In that aria are only Indias / Pakistani community. You will leave in an apartment with 5/6 “rooms” with Indien/Pakistan workers, 2 workers in each rooms. Your room is 1.5/2m , a bed, that’s all. The shared bathroom is horrible as the kitchen. The smell is impossibly.

Complete lack of communication and professionalism by them on all levels, don’t even waste your time. All they do is come up with excuses for every problem that people encounter in these reviews and claim it was “their fault”. If they cared enough they would change their system because it’s obviously terrible, but instead they would rather charge you and take your money.
