This place is really difficult to find, if you look up you'll see a sign on the 2nd floor of a yellow building, next to the cathedral. The reception is upstairs too, and you get in by buzzing reception from a very unremarkable green door. Look out for the sign as you go up the stairs, we wandered into what looked like a flat! The place seems clean and fairly comfortable, and the staff seem friendly enough. We've just checked in so I may edit this later

We stayed in this B and B hotel two years ago. Room was clean and tidy. Friendly stuff, we hardly manage to communicate because they don't speak english. Perfect location, 10 minutes walks to the city center.

The google maps directions are correct but there is this tiny sign next to the bell that says the name ask the resturant next to it. Other than the sign postage excellent hotel nice clean cheap friendly

Great location and clean, nice rooms! We had a beautiful balcony with a castle view. Receptionists at times a bit confused, and being only allowed one butter per breakfast is a bit weird. But otherwise a fantastic cost-benefit ratio!

A LOT of stairs to climb. Possibly the least expensive place to stay in the Alfama. Pay extra and ask for the suite. Expect nothing fancy.

Fawlty Towers. It is extremely cheap and very well situated near to several main sights so you can just head out and explore. However, showers and toilets should be cleaner than they are, and only one of the showers was stocked with soap - in a broken dispenser. Toilet doesnt flush. Its got bad acoustics and the partitions / doors are paper thin so you hear every conversation from your bed. I definitely suggest earplugs. The staff are nice enough.

Great location, but the rooms and the breakfast is very basic. Our room had a noisy AC and the shower was very worn. For the price it was good. Hard beds.

Good place, good localisation but the bathrooms are quite hard to use becouse of broken showers. A thing worth to notice is they took scan of my ID card without clear reason.

THE GOOD * sight seeing nearby - eg castle cathedral cafe's * rooms are large THE BAD - a big list :-( * you have to climb stairs :-( * my room was a pink colour * the entrance door and the bed is too small & the shower is also too small and cramped ( see pictures ) * the woman at the reception desk was unhelpful regarding attractions in the area and also lacked basic knowledge regarding public services eg train times/locations & bus times/locations etc ???- she also suffers from high anxiety and mood swings * doors are heavy to open and narrow ?? * noisy building works next door My Summary * I would try and find something better next time * I would not recommend this place :-( * i tried to upload photos but google is preventing me from adding photos of the room showing the pink room colour and the small doorways :-(
