Good menu. Delicious desserts. Local craft beer. I enjoyed the burger (choose white rice or bun), which came with green salad and a creamy sauce. The orange cake was scrumptious. Outdoor, covered, patio seating at the side. Very friendly, pleasant service.

We found this place by chance while walking towards the Quinta de Regareira from the town centre. I was very hungry after the visit (around 3pm) and tried to avoid those very crowded touristy restaurants and we stepped into this lovely gem! The ambience of the restaurant was very relaxing. I tried the meal of the day and it was delicious and the portion was so generous to feed my hungry belly. My husband was happy with his avocado toast too. The owner explained everything patiently and I can feel that this couple really run this place and serve the meals with passion and love. We also tried their homemade desserts and they are yummy and not too sweet. They serves homemade drinks and organic-branded drink too. Really refreshing. Price reasonable. I highly recommend Mela Canela even for non-vegan if you are looking for a break from the touristic menus.

Very nice and casual vegan place near Sintra station. The house burger was fantastic and very healthy! Very recommended!

My favourite plant based restaurant/cafe in Sintra. Very pleased that they are thriving to have the second place opened and we just managed to visit after 4 months. Very delighted to be there. Amazing location, right next to Sintra train station! Please don't miss an opportunity to try a typical Portuguese dish in a plant based version or a cuisine of the world! Amazing team and service. Highly recommended it! Big hugs!

I’m so delighted to be able to finally submit a real review about this place. The first time we visited this restaurant they did not have their newest location on Google yet so I wasn’t able to do a review. I said the next time I dine-in(we’ve been in a few times since but always take-away) I will take pictures of our food and submit a review. The ladies behind the counter are so delightful and the owner and his wife were so kind to my son and I the first time we were there. My son loves the scrambled tofu and sometimes will go in and just get that to-go. Their desserts are absolutely scrumptious. Tonight I had the mushroom sandwich for the first time it was very tasty 😋😋😋. So if you’re in the area this is definitely one you want to check out for yummy plant-based or vegan cuisine.

We fell in love with this place! The food was really really good! Very well seasoned and rich in taste :) Also, the portions were big enough. The personal was very nice and welcoming which made the experience even better. If you are in Sintra and you love good food you definitely should visit this restaurant. And its just few steps from the train station which is very convenient.

We went to Mela Canela when we visited Sintra. Amazing assortment of drinks, hot and cold. I took the banana cake which was slightly deconstructed ;) but among the best cakes I ever had in my life. We also took the copo do dua, which was a nice surprise since it was not so sweet m yet very chocolaty. Mela canela is definitely more than worth a stop when you spend time in sintra and just want to be away from buzzing touristy-crowded streets.

Fantastic to have a friendly vegan option in central Sintra. The falafels were a bit oily for my taste. Brown rice option would be great. Also they need a sign explaining the toilet door system (you need to ask them for the key).
