Great space with plenty of open area for kids to play. Close to the river and also lots of restaurants and cafes are nearby. Often some events take place in the garden which adds a bit of animation. A good place to rest for a picnic.

Nice open park. Good to lay on the grass to get some sun or do some activities. Has good lighting at night too and it's surrounded by one of the best monuments of Lisbon.

Vasco da Gama Garden is a public space in Belem which is named after the famous Portuguese navigator and explorer. It is situated between Praca alfonso de Albuquerque (east) and Praca do Imperio (west) as well as Rua de Belem (north) and Avenida da India (south). The garden is around 4.5 hectares in area, featuring wide cobblestone paths, park benches and large trees affording many shaded spots. You can also see a couple of interesting monuments here including the Thai Pavilion and a contemporary column structure. The garden is very near to Mosteiro Dos Jeronimos and there is much more shade compared to nearby Praca do Imperio, making it a better place to stop and rest your feet after visiting the monastery. During our June visit, we were lucky to find quite a few trees in bloom, showing off much purple colour to the park as well. Overall, this is another of Belem's enjoyable public spaces which can be enjoyed by visitors spending spending the day here as part of trips to Lisbon. We liked it more than other parks mostly because the amount of available shade. This is what really stood out, after spending quite a bit of time in the direct sun during the day.

The Vasco da Gama Garden was lovely. We enjoyed getting up close to the Thai gazebo and seeing that it was a gift from Thailand. Also, the statue of himself on a pillar. The garden is very accessible as one walks along the river.

Well maintained gardens with beautiful landmarks such as the Thai pagoda. The gardens are a great place to stop with a picnic or pop over to one of the many cafes on the edge of the gardens for a coffee and a cake.

Always a pleasure walking around the park, with the river as backdrop. They seem to be developing the space further which is usually a plus, but will hold judgement until after

Lively park with a central lawn and surrounded by trees and a front of old houses from before Belem becoming a monumental cluster. The buildings house restaurants and pastry shops, making quick bites readily accessible, amd yhe whole park experience very urban and comfortable. There are a few public art features, a Thai Sala, a diplomatic present, and local markets and pop-up kiosks are usually held nearby. The tree covered sides offer good shade and benches for cooling down in wa summer days. The park is very popular, specially on summer weekend.

👍👍 Beautiful place. It's such a pleasure to be here in any season in full sun or under the moon. The Belem tower is awesome ! This fortress in the middle of the Tagus has been the starting point for the navigators who set out to discover the trade routes. The expansive spirit is still present here. En...
