Praça da Alegria (also called Alfredo Keil Garden) is located just to the west of Ave. da Liberdade. You will also find a nice double chalice water fountain and circular basin, traditional Portuguese style cobblestone surfacing as well as some tall and attractive trees providing significant shade. There is also a bust monument of Alfredo Keil (1930), composer and author of the National Anthem of Portugal along with children's playground and kiosk selling drinks and light snacks. During our visit, a craft market was being held on the square as well.

It's a cute little park which isn't very crowded. You can go there to walk your pet and if you have children, they can play on the slide and swing. There are benches to sit around the fountain and also Cafe Bagel to enjoy a cup of coffee ☕ :)

The charm of this place is its dominating large stone round pool with bronze fountain spraying water into the pool. The beautiful garden includes mature trees, greenery, shrubs and flowers, and it seems to have very few visitors, perhaps because it's slightly off the beaten path. There are several stone benches surounding the fountain area where you can relax and meditate, away from the hustle and bustle of the main roads and squares of Lisbon. I was very delighted to discover that this park has its own free WiFi, which was both welcome and strong.

Beautiful park. Trees are awesome. I rate with 2 stars only because there is a kiosk with snacks and drinks. Tenants cough and sneeze while preparing food without proper sanitizing , also they do NOT wash the vases, silver, plates,etc. They only rinse with plain water. To my this is highly un acceptable. I do not recommend to have prepared food, ask only for beer on a bottle and packed snacks.

Took there time to prepare food got a funny feeling that they forgot to to cook it when you consider 2 other couples order the same thing and got there before us my wife had to ask again and they said they are waiting for the kitchen in the hotel across the road to say it was really but 10 minutes later they came out of the hotel with the food

I'm a beautiful small garden and park, concerts, a childrens' playground and a lovely fountain make this a very enjoyable setting for a great cafe with food from the restaurant across the street. A very good Caesar's Salad and a delicious Black Rice were two dishes we thoroughly enjoyed. Good prices, too!
