    (Translated by Google) INADMISSIBLE!!! On the 13th of October I had an emergency consultation with Dr. José Reis (orthopedist) because of a knee. I had an x-ray and, to my amazement, the doctor said that in addition to severe osteoarthritis he had a broken bone "that moved from side to side" and blocked his knee causing me the unbearable pain I felt. The first thing he told me was that he needed to be operated on urgently and that he should make an appointment for surgery with a colleague (with whom he was partnering) at a Miraflores clinic ??? !!!! but that operates in the Lusíadas! So far so good. I came with a photocopy of the RX, without pain medication, but with the other doctor's phone number to "go under the knife". As I usually reflect on the issues, I decided that I would not be operated on without another opinion and the next day I got another emergency appointment at Lambert's clinic with Mr. Dr. Pedro Simas. Result?? I don't have any broken bones, I do have bilateral gonarthrosis! I came with an elastic restraint, medicated and with physical therapy scheduled immediately to strengthen the ligaments. CONCLUSION: As I have good health insurance ..... it is all said! Shameful how unscrupulous people use our fragility / health to get rich! No dia 13 de Outubro tive uma consulta de urgência com o Dr. José Reis (ortopedista) por causa de um joelho. Fiz radiografia e, para meu espanto, o médico disse que para além de uma artrose grave tinha um osso partido "que se deslocava de um lado para o outro" e bloqueava o joelho provocando-me as dores insuportáveis que sentia. A primeira coisa que me disse foi que necessitava de ser operada de urgência e que para tal deveria marcar consulta de cirurgia com um colega (com quem fazia parceria) de uma clinica de Miraflores???!!!! mas que opera nos Lusíadas! Até aqui tudo bem. Vim com fotocópia do RX, sem medicação para as dores, mas com o nr de telefone do outro médico para "ir à faca". Como costumo refletir sobre os assuntos decidi que não seria operada sem ter outra opinião e no dia seguinte consegui uma outra consulta de urgência na clinica do Lambert com o Sr Dr. Pedro Simas. Resultado?? Não tenho nenhum osso partido, tenho sim uma gonartrose bilateral! Vim com uma liga elástica de contenção, medicada e com fisioterapia agendada de imediato para fortalecimento dos ligamentos. CONCLUSÃO: Como tenho um bom seguro de saúde ..... está tudo dito! Vergonhosa a forma como pessoas sem escrúpulos utilizam a nossa fragilidade/saúde para enriquecerem! Não confiem nunca sem terem outras opiniões pois podem ter surpresas! Obrigada por terem lido o meu testemunho.

    Supposed to be one of the better hospitals. Has excellent care by top surgeons but services of hospital rather poor compared to other countries. Food abysmal; WiFi poor; staff uncoordinated; decor of overnight rooms rather sad. But do not want to complain when so many people do not get access to this. Just info so perhaps the hospital makes a better effort as it is charging exorbitant rates for an overnight stay and it is a pity to let people that are not well have to deal with their very poor hospital management skills. Have been operated twice here. Never again!! Needs new management of post-operative service.

    They came up with an invoice for me to pay and send debt collectors after me - without a way of contacting them and not responding to my attempts to contact them. I went there on 07 October 2021. I left after paying the invoice presented to me. On 06 November I receive a text message asking me to pay another invoice which was also issued on 07 October 2021. I tried contacting Lusiadas to ask them what this invoice is about - and how come I was not asked to pay it on the day when I was there and paying for the service they provided for me. No one picked up the phone, and no one answers to my emails. Now I receive an email or a text message asking me to pay an invoice - which I have not seen yet. It has not been sent to me neither via email nor via a text message. This is unacceptable and it brings a lot of unnecessary stress in my life.

    I wouldn't recommend to an english speaking foreigner in Lisbon - Although I was told the doctors were fluent in English I was met by the very opposite. It was extremely hard to communicate the necessary details to any member of staff, and to add the reception staff weren't the most welcoming or accepting to say the least. And finally, they also don't accept many international insurances which is a complete inconvenience.

    Childbirth - This hospital is sick. Pick this hospital if you want a csection on a Friday at 4pm. They will be proud to inform of their high levels of intervention. Do not turn up in labour. They will state you are not booked. The staff are not caring as the leaders are not loving of their staff. It’s a horrible place to give birth. Rooms are nice, but that’s not what you need for childbirth. If you want a low intervention delivery, go to hospital St Antonio, same group, warm, caring, outcomes/patient focussed. The team really are able to function in support of you and they are a happy crew.

    In my opinion this hospital needs to get closed. We came with our daughter and she had an infected and hot foot and could not walk anymore. The nurse told us that they cannot help cause we had no passport and sent us away. We told her that we were just on a day trip and that our house with the passport is 70 miles away. We showed our IDs and told them to pay cash, but they told us that their boss says " no". This boss was too cowardly to come out and discuss with us and so the poor girls at the reception just talked to us. A hospital with this kind of management and what sends sick children away is in my eyes a shame for the beautiful town of Lisbon and the nice people.

    My insurance company recommended I go here for an ultrasound as I am pregnant-I had an aweful experience. Dr. Mario Rui Fernandes was SO unprofessional. He didn’t offer me anything to cover my bottom half while he was doing the ultrasound and left me completely exposed and afterwards didn’t offer me anything to wipe the ultrasound gel off with so I had to sit through the rest of the appointment and leave with cold sticky gel under my clothing. He miscalculated how far along I was which meant I didn’t get correct type of care I needed. My doctors in Canada had already calculated my due date and I had been following my pregnancy along with an app. His calculation meant I was a week earlier than I actually was which meant I wasn’t entitled to a morphological ultrasound which was the whole reason I had made the appointment! When I tried to correct him he became quite aggressive and rude and his told me he didn’t care what my other doctors or app said he goes by his old fashioned calculations. I was so upset after my appointment at how I had been treated. I ended up having to get my insurance company to fight this decision and ended up having to travel back to Lisbon to get the ultrasound.

    They are sending bills for nothing, the last one was when I even was not in hospital, there is no chance you can resolve the issue, as they ignore the emails (or just keep sending the invoices for payment), call center also ignores the questions and keeps transferring to the next operator until you end up wasting 30 minutes of your life. Don’t recommend in any case

    Appointment rescheduled for the 3rd time last week at 11am for an X-ray. The first time: I arrived at my scheduled appointment I waited over 45 minutes…I rescheduled my appointment as I work and didn't have the luxury of time. The second time: Same story.. waited for 40 minutes and rescheduled my appointment as I work. The third time…same story but things got worst... I took a number to register as usual (the number 100) and the screen number was 83!!! Waited for 30 minutes and the number went up to 86!! Are they kidding me????I had to wait for over 2 hours for my appointment ?? Plus, the reception area didn't have enough seats for all the patients that kept checking in. In this overcrowded space the nurses had to scream their lung outs with each patient's name, and every 10 seconds hearing the annoying screen sound of an announcing booth number…the total chaos. It was my third and last experience at Lusiadas Hospital that quotes "With nearly 20 years of experience, our goal is to provide the best available resources and means to our client" but isn't able to respect the waiting time outline for booked appointments… IF you are planning to pay them visit take the day off from your work arrive 30min before to be sure you park your car and finally be very patient!! It will be only fair to mention the kindness and professionalism of all the receptionists even if they look exhausted. One of the girls was so sick (coughing and sneezing )that made me wonder how come her responsible is allowing her to work in her condition and putting the employee in a delicate and dangerous situation as well as other sensible categories of patients (babies, elderly etc)

    What is happening with your booking system, please. A robot that doesn’t understand anything, and then you just hang up, no website or number listed, nothing. SHAME of a customer service. If you want people to book appointment in another way, EDUCATE, don’t be mediocre.

    Unfortunately, I cannot say I had a good experience with this hospital. I had my first visit at gynecologist dra Isabel Rocha in early November 2022, because my regular gyno from a different clinic went for maternal leave. In the first five minutes of my visit without asking me any questions, the doctor started to advertise me contraceptive IUD that I didn't want at all, and I told her that such a serious long-term contraception wasn't for me because I might want to think of children soon. She said I needed to hurry, because I quote "otherwise you will be a grandma at the school class". I'm 38, although my age shouldn't even be the reason for such a comment. I silently admitted to myself that I will not return to this doctor again but I needed her to do the necessary exams I came for, which she did. I was told to come for the exams results in one month. They were all very important to do on time, as those were control exams that would make a difference in the future treatment. Four weeks after, in December I came to pick up the results. I paid another doctor appointment just to find out that someone on the reception made a mistake last time and did not charge me for one of the exams a month ago, so it hadn't been made at all. No one contacted me during that month regarding the issue. I was told "not to worry", make the payment and that they would contact me in 2 weeks when it's ready and send me the results. So I paid for it. Today, 4 more weeks later, on January 3rd, I called the clinic, and I was told that the result was ready but they couldn't send it to me because it was against their confidential policy. I drove to the clinic 60 km from where I live to pick up the exam, just to find out that in fact it wasn't made at all, for the second time in a row. The reason was that the doctor did not fill the necessary paper for the laboratory back in December. This is an important exam for my health, and two mistakes in a row is just a bit too ridiculous. I understand that this is a human factor, but this is their only job to see the patients and do the paperwork. This is not a bad meal in a restaurant. This is a human's health and we are talking about screen exam related to cancer. I had to leave the negative review in "livro de reclamação". Its number is 30669220.

    Worst experience of my life at a hospital. No communication between departments, I was waiting a total 10hrs for just a X-ray and blood test. Staff are rude and won’t help if it’s ‘not their job’.

    I got the referral of a doctor, ginecologist for a problem that I have been dealing for too long. The doctor received me in few days after the contact and was quite receptive to my concerns and requests which required diligent action in a short period of time due to my work leave (also very short). We set a date for the sugery and I was impressed that the contact was very speedy and allowed me to send every remaining document by email . I asked for a quotation of the total price, that was sent to me few days prior to the sugery, in which stated the total value of the intervention and hospital fees. All the inconvenience started after surgery: the nurses not atentive at all, always in a rush to fill you up with drugs and leaving you behind without even trying to understand what was going on for each case since they receive many pacients for plastic surgery therefore they assume all patients are there for the same " vain" reasons. I was there for other reasons, but even so I had paid my entire bill like anyone, so I deserved the private quality service I was paying for. The health assistants were also very rude and whenever I would press the button to call for assistance during night shifts , they were the first to come instead of medical nurses and they were the ones to evaluate weather you were or not entitled to be given assistance. I required very scarce times their assistance and just preferred to crawl by my on and manage what I needed. I stumbled once and no one came to check up on me, if there were consequences. Water was giving rarely, some would save the bottles if you had other sitting on the night stand. 3 days enduring that, without being able to complain, or having relatives come and check for me. My family leaved in another city. (Husband who stayed with the kids). After i left the nurse who took the last cateter made me bleed perfusively and i almost fainted. The personel took me to take the cab with no wheelchair, I had to walk for 10 min after being laying for 3 days. I have been living in Paris, hospitalized there, lived in US also hospitalized there, been in a private clinic in Brazil where I gave birth South africa private hospitals and also were really wonderfully treated. This was by far the WORST experience and service provider! NEVER will I recommend it nor use it any time !

    I received excellent quality care both before and after elective surgery. Everyone who I came into contact with was exceptional. Nursing staff did an excellent job at calming me down prior to being taken into the operating theater. They were absolutely amazing during my recovery.

    Tried multiple times to call this place, got to the waiting queue and every 1-2 minutes was able to hear a short pause, clicking around, some background noise and then I was back in the queue with the waiting music. It seemed like they were picking up and pushing me back in, that happened at least 2-3 times whilst I was waiting for about 16-17 minutes in the waiting queue... Horrible service quality

They only called me for screening at 8:20 am ... which never happens to a person with a crisis, after screening they sent me back to the waiting room with a green bracelet !!! I was really upset with asthma, otherwise I wouldn't go to the hospital! I waited in the room until 08:50 !!!! When I entered the office, the first thing the doctor did, instead of listening to me, or putting me on a drip (a normal procedure) was to have me tested, chest X-ray and covid test ... which is done by last to a patient with an asthma attack. It is always imperative to treat the patient and then do such tests! I also mentioned that Covid-19 would not pay any tests! The doctor didn't ask me if I wanted to do the test ... after the exams, without any treatment yet, they sent me back to the (empty) waiting room, where I treated myself using the ventilator pump as a resource! With that it was 9:40 and I was still in the room self-medicating myself! I left at 9:45! Without any medical support. At 10:10 am I received a call from the Hospital saying that the doctor wanted to give me the prescription “as he had prescribed taking the drugs after talking to me” to which I replied that the doctor had not prescribed or talked to me about any type of medication ! The Assistant who was on the phone ignored any type of complaint from me and as soon as they hung up the call they send SMS with the amount to be paid! This type of service is not allowed! I do not intend to pay, much less the test to the covid that I was not informed nor of the values, nor they asked me if I wanted to take the test! It is unacceptable! I had a severe asthma attack, I treated myself alone in the empty waiting room of a Private hospital! (Original) Dei entrada no hospital dos Lusíadas Lisboa às 08:05 am de dia 25 de Dez com uma crise de asma, que foi em todo o processo desvalorizada, num hospital que estava vazio! Só me chamaram à triagem pelas 08:20... o que nunca acontece a uma pessoa com uma crise, após triagem mandaram-me novamente para sala de espera com pulseira verde!!! Eu estava mesmo aflita com asma, caso não, não iria ao hospital ! Esperei na sala até as 08:50!!!! Quando entrei no consultório a primeira coisa que o médico fez, em vez de me auscultar, ou me pôr a soro ( um procedimento normal) foi mandar-me fazer análises, rx ao tórax e teste ao covid... coisa que se faz por último a um doente com uma crise de asma. É sempre imperativo tratar o doente e depois é que se fazem tais exames! Referi também que não iria pagar teste algum a Covid-19! O médico não me perguntou se eu desejava fazer o teste... após os exames, ainda sem qualquer tratamento mandaram-me novamente para a sala de espera ( vazia) onde fui eu que me tratei sozinha utilizando a bomba de ventilan como recurso! Com isto eram 9:40 e eu continuava em sala a auto-medicar-me! Fui-me embora as 9:45! Sem qlq apoio médico. As 10:10 recebo uma chamada do Hospital a dizerem que o médico me queria entregar a receita “ conforme tinha prescrito a toma dos medicamentos após conversa comigo” ao que eu respondi que o médico não me tinha prescrito ou conversado comigo sobre qlq tipo de medicação ! A Assistente que estava ao telefone ignorou qlq tipo de reclamação minha e assim que me desligaram a chamada enviam SMS com o valor a pagar! Não se admite este tipo de atendimento! Não faço intenção de pagar , muito menos o teste à covid que não fui informada nem dos valores, nem me perguntaram se desejava fazer o teste! É inadmissível! Estive com uma crise de asma grave, tratei-me sozinha na sala de espera vazia de um hospital Privado!

    Very bad service. Went for a dental appointment, ended up having surgery for the price of 200€. Only a year later the clinic bothers to tell me this surgery is not covered by any insurance lol. Is this plastic surgery perhaps? Had the same surgery for 65€ in another private clinic in Lisbon. Covered by my insurance. Watch out for what you pay! Absolutely unbelievable.

    One of the worst clinics i have visited abroad concerning the quality of the doctors. Old doctors without any willingness to assist in detail a patient. Both the departments of dermatology and gynecology are extremelly poor in doctors. It is very hard to book an appointment with a good doctor and you have to wait for an examination for 2 months. Do not recommend.

    Unfortunately I have bad experience, the receptionist guy doesn’t speak English. When we asked anything he makes weird face and even he is not trying to understand what we are saying, very rude . We had appointment for 14 pm for endoscopy and we waited for almost 2 hours for examination. But Doctors and nurses are good and polite.

    Infrastructure of the clinic is a disaster. I couldn't even find an elevator to other floor, then I waited for 15 minutes in wrong places, it its not clear where to go, no one tell you the right place to wait. Why not to do 1 reception and then lead people to consultation directly, this micro management is awful

    AVOID. Terrible so called hospital. I had an operation there in January 2019 and am worse since. The Surgeon misled me with false hopes. The staff are incompetent there also. I made formal complaints in their complaints book months ago and they have not even replied! I emailed them many times too and still no reply. This apparantly is illegal as they must respond. Take my advice... Don't use this BAD hospital. They are con artists there. Cheats.

    Medical team(those that operate you) is very good, yet some of the nurses and the administrators works as if they were fish on land. As examples they did not provide sufficient pain relief and did not assist at all in basic needs. Very bad communication on their behalf and poor followup. For using a private hospital, I have done everything myself, calling and sending emails up to 7-8 times regarding one issue. When they say "we call you", that does not happen

    I gave birth at Lusiadas Lisboa hospital because my obstetrician assisted births exclusively at this hospital. The nurses and doctors were very kind and they performed very well their job. The room was simple and clean but very noisy. The major issue for me was privacy. I came to the room at 4:30 am after a very challenging 14 hour long labor. I was finally happy with my baby and ready to get some well deserved sleep when at 7:30 am the hospital staff started to enter the room, first the nurse (which I understand), and then the hospital staff with breakfast, snacks, lunch, another snack, dinner, another snack. I couldn't rest for more than 2-3 hours together. This made me really upset and stressed out. All I needed was some rest and cuddle with my baby. On top of it all the food was horrible, even the tea was terrible. They give you at every meal white bread and refined sugar cookies, (bolachas Maria), super processed in plastic-wrapped "croissants" full of sugar and questionable ingredients. I mean we are in 2022 come on!!! After all this is a private hospital. I mean you pay insurance every month and then you have to pay around 700€ on top to be able to give birth there...(Without insurance approx 2500€) At least they should let a new mom sleep and give her some healthy food during her stay.. Advice for becoming mothers who plan the birth there: Bring with you as much healthy food as possible and request privacy.

    The hospital is clean and looks fine and probably the doctors are good. However, sorry, but paying 227 euros per a consultation and regular exams (urine and blood) and waiting for more than 4 hours in total is something strange. You pay a lot if you do not have insurance and there is no good service. You wait for a long time, people in reception are rude to other clients when they ask how long they need to wait and you start questioning why you paid that much if it is so disorganized.

    I really recommend this Hospital for urgent cases. The stuff is really polite and patient, not only to me, but for every patient, also elderly people. Although you may wait a bit, doctor will give you time and consult, will prescribe needed tests and treatments and then see you again afterwards to decide the next steps. I was really happy but afraid of the price, and at the end I paid the same as in the public (with the insurance). Besides that every thing was clean, there was water in the waiting room and the stuff spoke very good English.

    Very organized and kind personell. Everyone speaks very good english, which made me feel very comfortable as a patient. The doctor was super nice and took her time explaining everything to me. I have been at a state hospital ER before coming there and would recommend to all tourists who have health emergencies to rather chose a private hospital, if insurance covers it.

    It's funny how lack of confidence transpires in ones work ethic, all the medical staff and most higher qualified nurses are very calm, helpfull and kind, however, the reception staff is absolutely rude in a way that almost balances out the kindness of the remaining staff... If people are going to the ER service how hard is it to keep your arrogance and frustration to yourself? Ignoring and providing somewhat dry responses to paying costumers, no one is above anyone ... Soraia in particular struck me as the rudest .. perhaps seek therapy for your frustrations instead of taking it out on the people who are paying quite a lot for a service that, outside of this country is the bare minimum... More expensive than other private hospitals, they try to upsell too, not really worth it.

    I'm from a family of physicians. I chose to deliver my 1st baby in this hospital a few days ago. The only reasons why I chose it was because it was the only place in Lisbon where my private doctor works (her main hospital was out of reach for us) and because I wanted some privacy while staying with my husband and with the baby. The best: facilities, customised meals, 24h support from nurses/staff. The worst: overall lack of competence, lack of manners by some of the staff - I was even bullied at the cafeteria -, incompetence in the procedure for creating the baby's ID card. I won't go there for a 2nd baby. There are better choices in the public and private national health systems when we want respect for the patient, reliability and effectiveness.

    I'm glad I went here. The service was efficient and friendly - everyone was super welcoming and everyone spoke English (except for 1 person, and that didn't matter). I'd highly recommend it for expats/travellers particularly given the other options. I rarely write reviews, but I was so stuck on what hospital to go to when I was so sick and I hope this helps someone who needed a good review like I did. Expensive, but I come from a land of relatively healthcare and I know the price of things so I can't judge on that.

    Unreliable - they told me I could come and pick up my radiografia results on Monday. When I went there on Monday the results were not ready so I traveled there for nothing. Respect people's time please! Three stars because other than bad service they seem to have a really good and modern hospital with advanced equipment - and many of them speak English.

    Receiving patients is probably the nicest part of the Lusiadas experience. The rest... Not so much. Despite the small amount of people present, the wait times are abhorrent(upwards of 2 hours, that is if you've managed to convince the medic who's checked you in that whatever ails you is urgent) and other facilities, like the vending machine or the bathrooms are lacking. But if you're visiting, you better buckle up for a wait. Welcome to Portugal.

    I can't give a 0 because one star is the minimum. I have a plug-in car. Arrived to the hospital Lusiadas to see my newborn grand daughter. Left my car to charge in the charging station in.the parking (there are only 2). Cost of 4kWh was 15EUR. Realized that they charge 10EUR/h only to have the car sitting there charging (add energy cost). This is an hospital. Not a luxury hotel. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR CHARGING HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE 0% IN IT!!

    This is THE WORST hospital ever. I did a biopsy 6 months ago (a pretty serious and expensive exam), and never got the results back. They were supposed to be available in the app, but they are not. I called the hospital 5 times (at least) and were left hanging. Stay away from this place.

    Awfull experience specifically with Dra.Patricia Rodriguez Orthopedist for Children.And the X Ray department.Firstly Dr told us to attend at 15h ,I've arranged traveling to the place and once there she rudely told us to arrange an appointment and get the X ray Wondering why she told us to be at the Hospital still as appart from spending travel money we left the Hospital without even an apology or even a justification.X ray was with technical difficulties...after us been waiting.     I went here with my wife because my wife had a gynecological condition that warranted immediate attention. Not only did the doctor treat my wife brusquely for showing up at the ER, she conducted herself poorly profesionally as well. She neglected to verbally inform my wife of a potentionally serious condition, saying that she didn't want to hand out a diagnosis and that we should go to our regular doctor with the findings from the exams we made. Only when we got home and read the papers did we find out about the condition the doctor refused to a) inform us of and b) medicate. A quick google search later, and now we're more worried than ever. This hospital looks good and the nursing staff are for the most part nice. As far as the competence of the doctors go you're better off going to a witch doctor.
