Stayed there for 2 nights, as a family (2 adults, 2 young children < 8 years old). Had initially booked a family offer (2 rooms) but when we realised after calling and emailing the hotel that the 2 rooms would not be connecting, we had to cancel and rebook a room for 4… I really don’t understand why ACCOR group sells Family Offers without connecting rooms. Hotel was built in 1978 and it shows, hasn’t been renovated since. Air con did not work, bed lights were broken, and window was full of humidity (see pictures). Apparently they are currently doing refurbishment works (which of course they don’t mention before you book), from 10 am to 6 pm. When we stayed, drilling started at 8 am and was still going on at 7 pm on a Friday evening… When I called reception to enquire about construction noise they said there was nothing they could do. If I were a hotel manager and I say construction noise takes place between 10 am and 6 pm, I would make sure this is followed up… THE HOTEL IS IN SUCH BAD CONDITION THAT IT SHOULD BE SHOUT DOWN AND REOPEN ONLY ONCE THE REFURBISHMENT IS COMPLETED. They market their swimming pool, but of course its only opened during summer, which they do not specify on the hotel page. Gym had some OLD and rusty equipment. Breakfast was OK, but products are on the very cheap side, and furniture needs a complete refresh. Still surprised by the chair I found at my table on the first day (see picture). Overall not a hotel I would recommend, far below Novotel and ACCOR Group standards, and absolutely not a 4 star hotel. I will contact ACCOR Group for compensation.

Fantastic service and everyone is so friendly! The rooms are spacious and beds are awesome, especially for those with back problems. Also conveniently 2-3 mins from Ubers 24/7 (Which are super cheap in Lisboa).

Needed an overnight stopover due to a missed connection and this one came through! About 15 minutes from the airport and reasonably priced, especially for last moment booking. Staff were very helpful and kind. The room was comfortable and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've been on. I forgot to get the name otherwise I'd look it up for home 😁 The breakfast spread was plentiful and had options for kids and adults. It was busy as it appears to cater to business clientele, but no issues at all. They had an omelette to order station that was quite good!! They have a pool but due to timing I wasn't able to see it. If you're staying downtown Lisbon, I would recommend!!

We stayed here as a family of four during the Christmas holidays. The staff were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help us. They gave us the room early since we arrive early in the morning. The breakfast buffet is great! It literally has everything you can think of. We also had dinner a few times in the restaurant and it was also very lovely. The room itself was tight but very clean and the only complaint I can have is that it was very warm and when we opened the window, it was so noisy with the airport being close by. The location was convenient too. Close to metro station, train station, zoo and a mall.

Extremely hot rooms in winter. Opening window helps just a little. When you open the window you hear constantly planes flying above. Next time I would search for another hotel where rooms wouldn't be overheated. Helpful stuff - when we needed to borrow some plates and cutlery from the kitchen it wasn't a problem. Nearby are two playgrounds which is useful of you have kids.

We stayed there for 3 nights with Globus tour and did not sleep well because the room was too hot and we had no way to control the temperature. The front desk told us the hotel controlled all the room temperatures and we could not change it so……while the room was ample in size it needs a refresh. Bathroom has no amenities except for generic shower get and shampoo. Bathroom also need updating. Location was not ideal. Far walk or metro to get to many attractions or the water. Breakfast was ok. Would not return.

The staff were so helpful - nothing was too difficult for them. Room was great for the 3 of us. Gym is a little basic and the pool was cold but these are very petty points. Overall we were all pleased with our choice and it is close to a metro stop which makes travel very simple.

Disappointed by my stay. I paid 2,700 euros for a week in this four-star, business hotel in order to have a swimming pool and a bit of exclusivity. In reality, the hotel is overrun by kids, there is even an irritating animator walking between the tables every single day at breakfast (who thought it a good idea to distract kids while they are eating?). I did not know Novotel decided to become a children's camp. The swimming pool is indeed there, but since the hotel sits on a windy hilltop, some days it's too drafty on the pool terrace to be pleasant. Also, the water is very cold as the pool is unheated! Rooms are tired, bathroom needs a refresh and has rust/mold around the shower screen. Hotel does not help with car rentals - I went across the street to the Sana Malhoa who were glad to assist on that. Positives: staff is friendly and tries to help. Breakfast also decent. But regret overpaying for this three-star experience.

Updating my previous review. We booked a “Superior Family Suite” for 2 adults and 2 children (12,13). According to the website the “Sofa-bed” is suitable for children up to 15. Hence we thought this should be fine and we also had great experience with other similar Novotels before. The room we received had a sofa bed, of 1,14m large (and only one pillow). When expressing to the reception that this may not be suitable for 2 teenagers, they simply answered that other customers have always been happy about this (+no extra bed available and all rooms are the same). We never managed to speak to a real “manager” but only to front desk managers, who did not seem to have any decision power (nor sense for customer satisfaction). When asking for a second room (even though available at much cheaper prices than we paid), they only reverted that we needed to pay extra for that – full price. Our children slept very badly for the 2 nights we stayed. I would add that all the other “negative” reviews are accurate (aged rooms, not very clean rooms, very small windows, mold in shower, airplane noise). I would also note that the sofa-bed is extremely uncomfortable in addition to being small. Swimming pool also on the cold side (22 degrees water even though it was much warmer outside during the day ). On a positive note, the breakfast was fine and the hotel refunded the price difference between when we booked and when we arrived (watch out for Novotel’s “dynamic pricing”). This being said, I did express that I was more keen on better room or additional room instead of a refund – no success. I did not get the impression that customer satisfaction is a priority, they only are interested in making more money … I am surprised by the recent “positive” reviews which seem suspect (see BBC News recent report about fake reviews).

Pro : The hotel is 600/800m from either the red or blue subway line. It's a ~15m walk from Lisboa Zoo. The staff were nice. The breakfast buffet was great including some fresh fruits. The bed was comfortable. Cons : the hotel is in the plane landing corridor and the sound isolation was not that great. The room and bathroom need a refresh to stay at a 4* hotel expectations

Close to the airport. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Wifi was easy to connect to. Breakfast was nice - good selection of fruit, cheese, pastries, cold cuts (ham and presunto), freshly made sunny-side-up eggs, cereal, yogurts and bread. Downside Carpets in the bedroom were horrendously stained. No international plugs available (not a huge deal but we were impressed with another hotel that had that convenience) Biggest disappointment was on our last morning there. We saw a mother with two small children get scolded by a staff member because she was packing a tiny container with two small sandwiches and fruit. The breakfast was good, but it was not free. If my children didn't eat in the morning, I think it would be reasonable to collect some food for them to eat later. I would also add that we stayed in another hotel that offered small paper bags in case clients wanted to take some food items to go. It's these small details that matter. The staff were otherwise pleasant, but we wont be booking here again.

The hotel is very family friendly and comfortable for staying.. Staff is very friendly too.. FOOD at their restaurants is very fresh and tasty... only room for improvement and which is the case with most hotels is the time taken for checking in :) Big thumbs up to Novotel!! So if you are going to Lisbon, do consider Novotel...

The view wasn't bad. Washroom was nice and clean. There is a kids area downstairs. Restaurant was reasonable. Rooms were in Shabby state, uncomfortable bed, the staff was horrible. Overall not a good experience. Downtown is a 10 minute walk, which is OK.

Overall this hotel was quite good and provided most of what we needed as a family of 4 travelling. The rooms had a kettle available, sofa bed not that comfortable but all else in rooms okay. I was a bit disappointed in the pool area, it's in a quite shaded area so was very cool still when we were there in June, and was a very windy space - maybe when it's much hotter in the middle of summer that will be less of an issue.

The room needs updating and a lot of attention. The carpet was dirty. The bathroom smelled of urine and the window was broken, there is no air conditioning so the room was very hot and the smell coming from the bathroom made it worse. The tissue box in bathroom was hanging from the wall. The shower was good but the bathroom tiles were dirty and tired. The all room needs a good clean and tidy up. The tv was big. The staff was very good and tried to help when we raised the issues.

Save your money and stay somewhere else, there are tons of beautiful properties in Lisboa centre with will a lot more happy to welcome you. I visited Lisboa in August and had booked the Mercure part of the Accor chain using some reward points being a loyal member of the chain for years. On the day of arrival I was informed the Mercure was not operating and I was redirected to the Novotel. The hotel staff who checked me in was so incredibly rude and unwelcoming to the point of really upsetting both myself and my friend (who's birthday it was and decided to leave). In addition the room was old, outdated and run down. The hotel is also in a terrible location. and you will need to taxis everywhere. In the morning the cleaning staff entered the room without knocking at 830am and without wearing a mask! This after they made me PAY and to take another covid test at check in as they did not accept my Covid pass. I had booked 4 nights but decided to leave after one night.

Hotel is 10-15 minutes from Lisboa Airport away. The quality and service in general is completely fine, but floor and also the curtains where quite "used"/dirty and I guess just old. The rest of the room was clean and totally fine, but maybe those things should be deeply cleaned or even exchanged from time to time. The service people where always friendly, especially in breakfast/lunch room. The food was always totally fine and well made. I can recommend this hotel if prises aren't to high when you book.

Novotel Lisboa was a big disappointment. The staff however are wonderful and earned the only Star for this lodging.. This hotel is not a 4 star, and is lacking the amenities it states. While the lobby is great, and new that is it.. The rooms are past out dated. No laundry service, no room service, no business center, no restaurant for over half of our stay. Our room itself was disgusting. Only towels for 1 person in a double occupancy room. Asked and had to go down a second time for another set of towels... Stains and tears all over the carpet. Baseboard coming off. Mildew In the fridge. Holes in drapes. Bath exhaust fan not working. No power or outlet on the side of the bed. Thermostat so worn you can't read the numbers. Tv the size of a Pringles can. Etc. Etc. Etc. I feel this hotel caters to large tour groups and business meetings. But is a bad idea for anyone looking for a comfortable "Room". The lobby is great. But I would never stay here again! Sad I I love Novotel in Madrid. This is not even close. Stay Away!!!

Good, a few improvements to make. Liked · Upon entering it has a very nice foyer and large restaurant and breakfast area, also very clean generally. Staff were very helpful. Large restaurant Bicycletta with varied options for food. We did not have the breakfast as we found it a little expensive at 15EUR pp, however it did look to be quite a large range of nice options. Room is large and spacious, big bathroom with Rituals Toiletries, very good power shower with clear instructions and comfy pillows. Housekeeping staff were very good each day. Only 10 minutes away from nearest Metro station and also huge shopping mall, El Corte Ingles. Disliked · The lighting is not very good. AC & charging is also quite weak for phone charging etc.. Feels quite warm at night as the window does not open hardly at all unfortunately.

Great family and business hotel. They had rooms with two twin beds. As well as a sofa that converts to a bed so that you can have extra family members. The breakfast buffet is amazing! Every staff member was helpful and accommodating. The location isn't near very many restaurants but there is a metro station 600 meter walk down the hill/stairs in the park across the street.

Location Great! Pillows terrible, no ice machine, no microwave or iron. Very friendly staff. I would book it again and ask for better pillows. Breakfast is 16 Euros and nothing to ravr about.

The hotel was fairly easy to find and has great location to the metro to be able to visit Lisboa. I highly recommend going with the metro or tuktuk to visit, the car will just hinder you. The room was beautiful with a great view and the staff was very accommodating for me and my dog. Highly recommend and I would 100% come back when I go to Lisboa again

Booked 5 nights in Lisbon - no room keys machine down for 2 days making access to the room quite tricky having to wait for staff to let us in Rooms not too clean and not enough storage Towels were scarce- had to call reception twice and flag down a housekeeper twice Restaurant is limited and the breakfast buffet at €16 per person was not worth it Location is remote - there is not much within walking distance. All is an Uber away Would opt for a better location nearer to the centre

Great room. Super location to town centre. Abundant breakfast fresh, huge selection, replenished often with cool pancake machine Great amenities including kids entertainment poolside Fantastic poolside bar with charming hospitality and food Helpful front of desk staff Superb restaurant at reasonable prices Definitely would reserve for next trip!

Generally clean, but some issues affect perception: In our case, there are peeling timber veneers on the main door, the bathroom grout appears mouldy, the bathroom light is cracked, and there is poor caulking along the bath. I like the idea of the lobby entertainment, but I won't let kids touch the toys there. Our room comes with a queen bed and a large sofa bed that comfortably fits 4. Overall, it's great value for a 4-star hotel, and I'd return.

  • 3/5 Bruna D. 5 months ago on Google
Check in was easy and staff polite. Room on the 8th floor, it was cold, thermostat old style and not much control, I tried to mild the temperature without success. Bed comfortable and clean. Bathroom has a good hair dryer, hand/ body soap and shampoo. The bathroom needed a better and deep cleaning on the ceramics and ceiling.

  • 4/5 Dennis C. 5 months ago on Google
Great food @ reasonable prices. Very pleasant staff. The only downside is a 15 to 20mins walk to Metro. No problem if it's sunny, but if it's raining it's not too good. Enjoyed our stay 😁.

Despite ongoing renovations and a temporary air conditioning issue, our stay recent stay at this hotel was generally positive. The location is excellent, close to amenities, making it convenient for travellers. Big Shout out to Rubeen for exceptional service, arranging a fan promptly for our comfort. The breakfast was delightful and the housekeeping team maintained cleanliness. Special thanks to Lilia & Rubeen turned potential negatives into positives. I'd consider staying again post-renovations.

Good location, walking distance to mega mall, grocery store and restaurants but removed enough that it’s quiet. Rooms are musty and extremely dry though. Would benefit from better ventilation. Rooms have water kettle and fridge. Hallways are dated and carpets look old. It’s just an older facility. Dining is pretty good though - our dinner buffet was generous and plenty of options for both meat eaters and vegetarians!

  • 4/5 Lucy S. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel is pretty nice, service is good, morning gets very crowded for breakfast. It is on the main street, so if your room faces it, with the open window it's a bit noisy to sleep. Also, gym is very basic and there are no mats for stretching / floor exercises

  • 4/5 valerie f. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel is ideally for families and children. Very friendly staff, good service, clean and open- space rooms. It is very nearby to several metro- stations. The swimming Pool is small but cosy. There even was animation for young Kids. 1 disadvantage: The Pool can be very busy and it is slippery on the sides. It is also very deep. The restaurant "Bicicleta" is also a big asset. The staff is very helpfull and enthousiastic and the dishes were delicious!

The hotel started off ok until we realized it was hot in our room. We called the front desk and asked to have it adjusted and I was told they couldn’t do it because the entire building was at the same temperature. This was interesting since the lobby was at a comfortable temperature, yet my room was like a sauna. Needless to say my family and I didn’t sleep either night. It was so hot I started to sweat as did other members of my family. I called again and asked for a fan to which I was told they didn’t have any. Thank goodness I didn’t pay for breakfast because that was a mad house. I don’t think anyone ate all that great or hassle-free down there. I DO NOT recommend this place, stay at an Airbnb or Marriott / Hilton etc.

Booked this hotel on hotels.com on Jan 2020, to attend a conference in Lisbon in March same year. Then the pandemic hit. The hotel refuse to refund after negotiating with them for more than a year. Big disappointment to international hotel chains like this and I would never book with Accor Group again.

Nice reception area, acceptable restaurant food and prices but I have mixed reviews regarding the front desk staff. One day 2 men were working and were very helpful and friendly, the next day, 2 ladies were there and were beyond rude and totally unhelpful.

Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a place. This site will compare hundreds of booking web sites and usually will have prices much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This place is one of the best in this area. I have been coming here for years. If you stay for a few nights you for sure won't regret it. Staff were very welcoming. Location is excellent close to metro station, Shopping center and the main Islamic Center. Breakfast was excellent too.

The rooms are very dated, with good size but with broken/ not working correctly stuff. The bed is not that good and the pilows are very bad. My wife and I struggled to sleep for the first few nights, then we went to Ikea to buy some new pillows ourselves so that we could sleep better. Service is ok but the Room service missed my room on the first day. (I had to do my own bed and struggled a lot to get some fresh towels, had to pretty much go get them myself from the towel storage ). The staff is friendly but not that helpful. Breakfast has some variety but lacks quality. the only good thing was the coffee, The location is ok, but keep in mind that the 12eur they charge daily for the parking is if you don't drive your car, every time you go in and out the period restarts, from my math you get up to 24 Eur per day if you drive your car. ( I paid 21 for one day because I went to have lunch outside) If you plan to not use your car you need a 1KM (15min) walk to the closest Metro (Underground) station The pool was open but the water was very cold. the outside was very dirty, and there were directions to the "pool bar" that took me back to the hotel reception bar, I order a club sandwich, but I need to take that to the pool myself so I either wait there for 20min or I need to go to the pool and get back there in 20. Not the experience I would expect from a 4star hotel. I would expect some of those issues from an Ibis hotel like the one you have across the street from this hotel. but that one is half the price of this one.

Nice hotel but the carpet in our room was definitely in need of a clean. Comfy bed and great shower. Loved that there was a bidet and also loved that they have a room in which to safely store luggage for those arriving before check-in time. Front desk staff were great, very helpful. Housekeeping was not so great. Did not empty trash every day...actually seemed to only make the bed and nothing else. Both the food and the service in the restaurant could have been better.

Very nice experience. I was travelling for business alone. The hotel is in a nice position, not far from the airport. Rooms are nice and spacious with good soundproofing. Breakfast is ok and decently priced. The restaurant is very good, the menu is not huge but everything is tasty and well made. The staff are nice and welcoming. Will be back for sure

I appreciate the hotel's modern amenities, clean rooms, and convenient location. Breakfast is good but not excellent and most of the staff provided exceptional service. Overall, the Novotel Lisboa is a comfortable and satisfactory choice for a stay in Lisbon. I wish the hotel honored the Accor loyalty program and looked into the privileges the members are entitled.

I stayed in room 801, the room was dated, carpets dirty, and there was a crack on the inside wall. Bathroom looks very dated with the hair dryer faded into off-white. Only positive was that the breakfast was very good. I will expect at least a usb port as standard on every room. Parking is paid for and if you take the car out multiple times you end up paying €€€. If you leave it overnight it’s €11 and that’s reasonable. Overall a pretty tired looking hotel rooms. Needs a freashen up soon.

Comfy bed, kids friendly hotel, they use rituals Bath soap etc…the breakfast was decent. The restaurant serve a delicious food and yes parking is not free. The staff looks so serious, they don’t smile to you and we ask to have a floor a little up so kids enjoy the said fully booked but empty during breakfast.

  • 4/5 Travis H. 1 year ago on Google
Better location for business travelers than for tourists, but worked well for me. Rooms were clean, bed was reasonably comfy, staff were friendly. The breakfast is overly pricey for what you get, but hey it’s a hotel breakfast. If I return again for business travel I would come back.

Room service is not good. The premises is very nice. They don't fill your tea tray. Everytime you need a tea you have to call them for the creamer and teabags plus they make you do the exercise to collect it yourself from their cafe area which was located at the ground floor. We stayed at novotel for five days our only reason to book this hotel was it had play area for children but when we landed to that area. It was locked and the staff unable to find solution to that we kept reminding them everyday but things didn't go well. I would recommend to book something near center area in Lisbon.
