What a great hotel! The location is just perfect. All staff are very friendly. The breakfast buffet is great, every day different veggies and fruits to choose from. Because of covid they work in shifts which is great as you've got plenty of space to walk around the buffet. As we came for our honeymoon I asked them if it's possible to leave a note for my husband. They left the note on the bed and also decorated the room very nicely, thanks for that!! The weather forecast was quite bad and therefore I asked them a day before if they've got any umbrellas to borrow, but unfortunately they did not. This is something that I would expect a 4 star hotel to offer. Nevertheless, I am very happy with my stay here and the welcome drink was a nice extra.

Our first time in Lisbon and it has been incredible. The hotel was so much more than we were expecting. The moment you walk in, it smells beautiful. Beautifully lit and the staff were more than welcoming. Our room was the slope view which didn't disappoint. The doors opened up on to the city and we had a view of the castle which lit up at night. It looked down on to the street where you can hear the atmosphere of the city. The bed was comfy, the room was clean and spacious. Overall extremely good especially for the price. Last of all the location is perfect, you can't get anymore central. Thank you for a great stay!

It was centrally located and nicely presented so it gets a star for that. Some of the staff were polite and friendly but there were a couple of female receptionists who always made me feel like they were talking about me in their language. It was very childish and rude. I have never experienced this in any other hotel and I have travelled extensively. The superior room I booked had a pungent odour in the bathroom that disseminated to the entire room and the shower was absolutely insane. The power point for the kettle didn't work so I had to keep moving it whenever the cleaners came and put it back. The clock was stuck at 5.30 from the moment I arrived. Had I known I would have brought my own travel clock. The hotel was dimly lit throughout which made it quite depressing in the middle of an already dark grey winter. Breakfast was OK but cocktails and mocktails were disappointing. Unfortunately this was not one of the better experiences I've had in hotels.

Location is perfect, 3 minutes from metro and right in the middle of old town The check in desk is first rate and the front desk employees are very accommodating. Breakfast is pretty good . The room is nice, but VERY small. Be prepared to trip over your luggage. I think the interior hallways to the rooms are exceptionally dark and disorienting, they need to increase the lighting. One final note: I'd give the bar staff 1/5. Hint: when a guest is at the bar area, think about getting them a drink instead of chatting with each other and cleaning glasses. I waited 10 minutes and no one approached me. Then I sat outside and and got the same treatment. So I went back in and wrote this entire review in the bar area, and not once was I asked if I wanted anything. Bad form.

Check in was very easy, efficient and friendly. The hotel is in a great location in the city surrounded by restaurants stores, and sights to see. The room was very nice - spacious, clean, well laid out. The A/C was slow to cool the room, but eventually did get it nice and cool. The only issue with the location is that music is played late into the evening, so it can be loud until about midnight. My only real complaint with the place itself, and it was a big one, was that the King bed was decidedly not a true King. We slept in many hotels around Portugal on our trip and this was the only location where the King bed was not what we expected. It was decidedly smaller both in length and width, so be aware and avoid if a King bed is a must-have for you.

Staff was great...all were very friendly, patient, and attentive. The location couldn't be better. Rooms are cute & quirky...there was more space that I expected since I had to book a 'small room'. Would highly recommend! (note - the hallways do take a bit to get used to. VERY dark.)

We stayed here for 4 nights. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed. It included a coffee machine, kettle, crockery and glasses as well as a complimentary bottle of wine!! Staff where very friendly and helpful. We were treated to a complimentary drink on arrival. The hotel has a lovely, cosy bar area where you can also order substantial snacks or a meal.

Stayed for 3 nights in Feb and couldn't fault anything about this hotel. Location is ideal for exploring Lisbon, the rooms are beautiful, staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. Also hotel lobby is gorgeous for relaxing in with some (great) food and a drink!

The hotel and staff are exceptional, we absolutely loved our stay here. Everything was perfect, and we even received a free room upgrade which was so very lovely indeed. We visited Lisbon for my partner's birthday, and the staff made this birthday treat so special. We even received a free bottle of champagne which was really lovely. The hotel itself is beautiful and located in a central area of the city. The food was excellent, as were the drinks. The staff were brilliant, we were so happy staying here, and will definitely be back.

This hotel was lovely. The rooms were great, big for a city center, and nicely and comfortably furnished. The rooms were quiet, didn't hear the neighbours. Could hear some sounds from the city streets, but it was in a busy lively area, so that was to be expected. The noises did not go on late, stopped at midnight. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Made our stay very enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again.

I loved this hotel. Right in the heart of Lisbon. Great drinks and bar food in the lobby. This hotel has the nicest lobby. We were a group of 8 who celebrated happy hour every day after our tours. Plenty of restaurants nearby for dinner Front desk associates were so helpful. I would stay there again if i came back.

Great hotel staff, great room, fantastic bar staff. The welcome drink was very welcoming. The location was walking distance from great sights, bars, restaurants, and public transportation. I've already recommended this hotel to friends and family and I just left yesterday.

A nice hotel to stay in - great service from all the staff. Rooms are small and quite dark. Location is excellent in terms of being central, but there are a lot of men hanging around the outside of the building on the closest two streets at night which can be intimidating

Expensive The location is excellent. The service is good. The bed is comfy. The room we got was nicely decorated. The room is very small and not comfortable so understand in advance what room you are getting.

Friendly helpful staff, great room with views out to the street. Great location loved the personal touch, with robes, slippers and a range of toiletries. Would have loved to spend more time there, so we will definitely be back.

A perfect place to stay in Lisbon. One of the standout features of Brown's Central Hotel is the food and drink on offer. The hotel bar is the perfect spot to unwind and relax after a day of sightseeing or business meetings, and the menu is filled with delicious options that are sure to satisfy any craving. From craft cocktails and local beers to gourmet snacks and light bites, the bar provides the perfect respite when you need a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. And speaking of the city, you're absolutely right that Lisbon has no shortage of amazing breakfast spots. While the hotel breakfast is certainly a convenient option, there's no need to feel obligated to indulge if you'd prefer to explore the local food scene. With its wide range of cafes, bakeries, and restaurants serving up everything from classic Portuguese pastries to international breakfast dishes, Lisbon is truly a food lover's paradise. Of course, the hotel itself is also a major draw. With its elegant decor, comfortable rooms, and attentive staff, Brown's Central Hotel is the perfect home base for your Lisbon adventures. And its central location makes it easy to explore all that the city has to offer, from historic landmarks to trendy neighborhoods and everything in between. Overall, I can't recommend Brown's Central Hotel highly enough. Whether you're in town for business or pleasure, this charming hotel provides the perfect combination of comfort, convenience, and elegance. So go ahead and opt for bed-only and take advantage of all the amazing breakfast spots that Lisbon has to offer - you won't be disappointed!

This hotel is located in the heart of the old town, really easy to access lots of the top sights from here. We had an interior room which was a little dark, but the quirky decor and very comfortable bed made it an enjoyable stay. The staff were really friendly and helpful, service at the bar was a little slow especially during the happy hour (which is actually 3 hours!) Food was lovely here, and the bistro area outside is great. We only had the breakfast once, but the selection was hot and cold food, more than just a continental.

Great location, staff very helpful and friendly, room was clean, comfortable and nicely fitted out. Breakfast area a bit hectic but plenty of good quality options. bar/lounge has a cosy vibe. Walk along the corridors was a bit spooky, but all added to a fab experience. Happy to recommend and would happily return. Thanks for a great stay 🙂

Great boutique hotel. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. It was a trip to Lisbon for my birthday and after a day out got back to the hotel to freshen up for dinner to find a lovely bottle of complimentary bubbles on ice in the room for my birthday. Cant fault the hotel at all we stayed bed and breakfast which was perfect. Location is great for all the main attractions and surrounded by restraunts. On arrival you also receive a welcome cocktail and bottle of wine in the room.

This was our first time in Lisbon. We loved everything about this hotel. Great location. Great staff. Spotlessly clean. Great breakfast. You are a few steps off the main thoroughfare but also a very short walk to some great restaurants. Room was smallish (try stay in a Japanese business hotel and then you know what a small room is) but we literally only sleep, wash and change there. We thought that our room was funky and functional. We would stay again.

A brilliant hotel, the staff were so helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. The bar was so cosy and rooms so modern. The location was excellent we could walk to all the local attractions, shopping centres and Christmas markets. Shout out to the bar staff they were great fun!

Right in the heart of Lisbon. Don't let the name put you off. Other than some of the halls seeming too dim and unlit, and one night of a boisterous singing performance nearby (which ended by 10 or 10:30) I was completely comfortable here. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. The bed was comfy. The room was...well...roomy! I did not have a car... having one would have been a problem.

My partner and I completed our stay at this hotel only yesterday. We could not be happier, rooms were great for a city break, staff were attentive, friendly and super helpful. When we go to Lisbon again, we wont stay anywhere else. Location is perfect for all needs!

Wonderful stay! Room attendents/housekeepers were amazing. Happy hour was on point!! Whenever I needed anything, service was at my room within 5 minutes. Staff was attentive and had many suggestions with food and nightlife. This hotel is in the best location. Walk outside, and you have everything you could want and need.

Superb service and location for a city break with very comfortable bar / lounge area. standard double room VERY small ,no space for dressing table etc. also the bathroom. Worth upgrading room .Would still recommend as bar and reception service is just excellent and great location for a city break.

Beautiful hotel! Amazing location to the train station and the cities main attractions. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Very aesthetically pleasing. The bed and pillows felt like a cloud ☁️ the rooms had everything we needed. 100% a boutique style place.

Excellent service and location. Easy to walk around to main attractions. We were able to see a lot even with just one night in Lisbon. Room was small but sufficient, good for a couple but probably too tight for a family.

The hotel is in a great location only a 5 minutes walk from the metro and I walking distance of everything in central Lisbon. Check in quick and professional staff have info about the hotel and local area. Room was great firm bed, nice shower with lots of hot water Coffee pods and several device charging options. The lobby bar is nine and chilled

Brown's Central is the best. I contacted Covid when on Vacation in Lisbon. I had to isolate for a week in the hotel. All of the staff were extremely supportive. I can't say enough about how wonderful everyone was.

Would stay there again, 100%. We had a fabulous time thanks to the kind staff and great amenities at this stylish and comfortable boutique hotel. Location couldn’t be better!! The bar makes great cocktails too. Many great restaurants and sights round.

Very affordable and welcoming place to stay. Top location and interior. Great thought through concept. Staff in every department very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is alright. Drinks are good. Special wishes possible. Small selection of snacks that are good. Rooms are awesome. What I don’t like is the CCTV as you have it now a days in a lot of places.

Gary Moore Lisbon is a very beautiful city, but what made it spectacular, was my stay at Browns Central Hotel. The staff, from the front desk, managers, dining staff, and bar were excellent and did whatever they could to make my stay unforgettable. The rooms were quiet, spacious, and very well appointed. You could tell that someone put in a lot of time and effort to make the aesthetics of the hotel appealing. I stayed from July 6 through July 21st. Outstanding boutique hotel!!!

I really loved this hotel. The location was absolutely perfect, close to everything but on a quiet street so I could rest with not a single sound. The room was beautifully decorated, superstylish, cozy, with every detail carefully planned, and a very elegant bathroom. It might be considered a little small, but the decor was so perfect it made up for it. Room and bathroom immaculately clean, and quality bed linen and towels. I did not have breakfast, but I did enjoy the complimentary welcome drink at the bar, which has a very nice ambience. I am not a fan of hotel bars usually, but this I liked very much and so I went two additional times, to recover between walks, and for a cocktail at night, to wind down from the busy noisy lively Lisboan streets. Lastly, I would like to mention how welcoming and nice all the staff was. Especially Diogo at the reception, who was very nice and helpful and on a map explained in great detail what to see in the city and how to move around, with very useful information and tips. Very appreciated! This will be, with no doubt, my hotel in Lisbon, and will definitely stay there again when I return.

Lovely boutique hotel in the heart of the Old Town, the rooms are a little on the small side but with everything you need. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The breakfast was perfect with a great selection.

One of the best stays I have ever had. Everything is as good as it gets: the location, the rooms, the mattresses, the decor, the brasserie, the staff. Despite of the ultra-central location, in the heart of Lisbon's historical downtown, the rooms are the quietest I've ever experienced. Initially, I had booked for one night, but I ended up staying for many more because of what this hotel offered. It really is a gem.

  • 5/5 Denise C. 2 years ago on Google
We were able to check in earlier than expected. The hotel offered us a welcome drink which was delicious I ended getting another one. Our room was quiet and clean, and they took note of my request for a higher floor. Great stay.

Cannot fault any part of our 3 night stay. Variety of good quality food; happy informative helpful staff; great location; spacious room with supportive bed & pillows; relaxing shower with high quality skin/hair products; well stocked mini bar and complimentary teas (including herbal) & Nespressso coffee machine( replenished daily).

Brilliant hotel in a fabulous location. Situated in the centre of Lisbon, just step outside and you are ‘absolutely’ in the centre! Rooms are a great size and beautifully decorated. Breakfasts were excellent with great choice and every member of staff were nothing but charming. Would have no hesitation in recommending Brown’s Central.

Really nice rooms, design furniture and high quality. Location is super central, just around the corner you have Mantegaria one of the best pastel de nata you can find in Lisbon. Cleaning staff are a bit noisy during the day in the corridors. At night the location is also a bit noisy.

Don't forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any stay. This web site will compare countless booking websites and normally will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This place is one of the most well known in the area. I have been coming here for a long time. If you choose this place you definitely won't regret it. Central location in the heart of the main pedestrian Street. This small boutique hotel is very stylish and the rooms have everything you really need. The bathroom was a bit too small. Breakfast was very tasty with many choices. All in all it was a great stay.

  • 4/5 Iman B T. 1 year ago on Google
Super friendly staff, beautiful lobby. Rooms get a lot of sunlight but the heavy curtain and great mattress ensure a good night sleep. Rooms are fairly small as you’d expect from a downtown hotel. Our room had a balcony which was nice. Breakfast is mediocre. Great bar and outside tables are bonuses.

  • 5/5 Steven T. 1 year ago on Google
You’ll love staying here and wish you weren’t leaving! Wonderful location close to everything, particularly the centre and likewise all the shopping areas. Great food, drinks and friendly staff downstairs. I had a balcony room facing the street and could not complaint… wonderful to have a coffee outside and just relax!

  • 5/5 Kenny B. 1 year ago on Google
I love this bar. It's one of the best spots downtown to go to get some work done, have a drink, and just relax. The music is great and they have a nice selection of drinks too. The only downside is that they aren't open all night—that would've been perfect!

  • 5/5 L A. 1 year ago on Google

Great hotel, bar and restaurant. My partner and I had the pleasure of staying a night at Brown's Central Hotel. If we had known how competent and king the staff was, we would've stayed longer ! The location is perfect and the prices reasonable. I would highly recommend this establishment if you pass by Lisbon !

  • 4/5 Marc C. 1 year ago on Google
Very nice staff, good room with a nice TV and speaker provided. Great location in the city centre. Aircon keeps it chilly though was a bit tricky to work. Not a ton of storage which made things tight as we were staying a week. "City view" room is just a window facing a wall a few feet away, so couldn't open the curtains. Shower didn't seal so the bathroom would flood a bit. Overall relatively minor inconveniences and we enjoyed our stay.

We actually didn't stay at Browns , they have a little cafe set up outside the front of their building and we stopped by for a drink. When I went inside to use the facilities I could see that the hotel was beautifully decorated. The location of Browns is excellent it's right in the hub of everything.

We had a lovely three nights staying in Brown’s Central. Our room was 127 and classed as a ‘Charming Deluxe Room’ - it was very good. The bed was comfortable, the room clean and we had no issues. The Juliet balconies were great, it was nice to be able to look up/down the street. Breakfasts in the hotel were excellent with a good selection of food. All the staff who we had contact with (Reception, bar & breakfast) were friendly and polite. All in all, a good experience.

First visit to Lisbon and this place looked great online. It did not disappoint! Right in the middle of restaurants and shopping. Walking distance to the waterfront and more restaurants, museums and shopping. They have a bar that is great with a really fantastic bartender. They have a little cafe for breakfast as well. The staff were super helpful and really friendly. We stayed in the Master Suite and holy cow it was awesome! Had everything you need. As a side note, they did not provide shampoo or conditioner but there are a lot of pharmacy type places nearby where you can purchase little sizes if needed. But had everything else you would need! We loved our stay here and highly recommend it for everyone!

Strategic position for this amazing hotel. Close to shops and metro. Stylish room fully furnished, tiny but super clean bathroom. Wide choice of food for breakfast and good cocktails in the evening. Perfect choice for us 🔝

My husband and I stayed here for 5 days during our honeymoon. The rooms are compact yet very comfortable and cute, and the shower was very nice! The staff are very friendly and were always happy to give us their personal recommendations on places to go/things to see. The lobby and bar area were my favorite! It was very moody and beautifully decorated. You also get a free, delicious welcome drink when you arrive. 10/10 recommend.
