Authentic, homemade Italian food in Lisbon! Really delicious and fresh Italian food in a restaurant away from the busy touristy area. We got the eggplant appetizer, gnocchi and carnbonara and the tiramisu and chocolate cake - you can’t go wrong!

We arrived late after the kitchen had closed, but were very kindly accommodated and allowed to dine. Really glad we were given the chance as the food was excellent. Better Italian food than we had during our recent visit to Rome for sure. The chocolate cake is out of this world!

Best italian food in town! Authentic, fresh and super delicious! As a primo we had the two choices of ravioli and they were so nice to divide our plates for us, so it was a perfect share. As a second we had a beef steak with a honey-red wine sauce and rosemary potatoes. Experimental and therefore incredibly amazing! Also excellent service! We will definitely come back and try more (all the dishes depend on what they get fresh on the market so the menu changes almost everyday). Can recommend 100%!!!

We really enjoyed our dinner at Il Monello. The setting is basic but the food is excellent. It was one of the best Italian meals I had in Lisbon. The prices were also very reasonable. I look forward to going again. Two things I would note for others - there’s no English menu so I advise using Google Lens so your camera can translate. That worked fine for us. Also they only accept Portuguese credit cards. So if not local you will pay cash.

We were the first ones to arrive. There was only one server for the whole restaurant, but we were served very promptly. The carpaccio de Manzo was excellent, very balanced in terms of flavors. The rice ball was ok. The ravioli with chestnuts and panchetta was exceptional. Very creamy very tasty! The dessert was delicious as well but the crumble was a bit too sweet. The service was very fast even though there was only one waiter. Very professional and not expensive at all! Definitely recommend a visit if you are near Campo Pequeno!

I couldn't be happier with the food we tasted at IL Monello. I must admit that if it wasn't for Google Maps, I wouldn't have find this hidden gem. The food is superb and truly Italian, the staff is very friendly and above all, very respectful (something hard to find these days). It was almost empty when we visited but that didn't harm the experience (nor the food quality). We'll be coming back one of these days to try the rest of the dishes (by the way, don't skip the tiramisu).

Very friendly service and authentic italian food. Highly recommended :D Also, I went on a Sunday, when I was "desperate" to find an open restaurant! Uff, lucky me ending up eating here ( my favourite dishes were the carbonara and the tiramisu tart )

Amazing Italian food, finally something in Lisbon that is respectful to great Italian food. Packed with flavour and fresh pasta. It's unbelievable how this restaurant isn't full all the time, people value the restaurant visual and less and less amazing full of taste food. If you want to feel great with the flavours and not about a great Instagram photo this is the right restaurant for you.

Ohh man, this is truly a hidden gem in Lisbon 😁 If you have a hotel around this area or if you'll be around Campo Pequeno Shopping Mall you can't miss this Italian restaurant! The restaurant is small and located away from other places which one you can easily access from a main street but it's worth this afford to find it and enter without doubt! They serve an amazing authentic Italian food where is difficult to find such a great place anywhere in the city centre. We tried several dishes and all have been awesome 👍service is also really great 😊 100% recommend! Enjoy 👊

Both entrees (eggplant and fried puff pastry with ham) are good. Pasta with pesto sauce, carbonara pasta are tasty as well. Hugo (boss) is friendly as well.

We headed here on our last night in Lisbon due to the good reviews, and we're so glad we did! It was a highlight of our trip - insanely good and flavoursome food (best Italian we've had outside Italy) and a wonderful waiter. Don't miss it!

Had a great family meal there on our last night in Lisbon. The fried pizza was great and not at all what we expected, it was light and not at all greasy. The filled pasta was so delicious and the parmesan ice cream was amazing. For four with a bottle of wine it came to just over €110.

Good food, and average service. The waiter are nice but they lack some service speed. Other than that the ambient in the restaurant is good and the meal is well prepared and plentiful. If you take your personal car, you will have some difficulty in finding a parking spot, due to be a residence zone. Very happy with the experience.

We happened to walk past a small restaurant, but super nice service and great food, the prices are totally fine. Finally got a limoncello on our second visit. We'll definitely come back on our next trip

Amazing pastas. The carbonara is incredible, made with traditional ingredients. And great homemade tagliatelle!

Came for dinner with another couple and their infant on a week night. The experience and the food was great! The server was kind, helpful, and accommodating for our smallest diner. The food felt very authentic (carbonara made ether traditional way with guan isle and no cream/nata. The bolognese was incredible! We will definitely be back with the whole family. Thank you!

Das beste Restaurant von ganz Lissabon!!😍 Definitiv sehr günstig (10-12€ für selbstgemachte Pasta) und jeden Cent wert. Die Nudeln sind frisch und genauso wie die Sauce selbstgemacht. Der Service ist freundlich und hilft auch bei der Auswahl gerne mit :) Lasst euch von der einfachen Einrichtung nicht täuschen, das Restaurant ist der Wahnsinn☺️
