Geburtstag.

The building (Azurara Palace) was built in the 17th century and bought by the portuguese businessman Ricardo do Espírito Santo Silva in 20th century. He had a poetic and artistic soul, which inspired him to collect Portuguese artifacts from different auctions or private collectors to retrieve Portuguese art.

This wonderful little museum makes for the perfect intermission during a day of exploring Alfama. The works are interesting and make for a fun journey through Portuguese decorative arts, but the building is half of the fun. Highly recommend.

Excellent to know some of the great history of Portuguese art on furniture! Also furniture with Portuguese influence in the world.

The most distinguished school of restoration in Portugal and one of the references in Europe. Also a lovely museum, where you can dive into a perfectly preserved 18th century noble estate.

Really good collection of artifacts, the museum has. The guides are super friendly and eager to help in any way possible. Could have a better brief explanation of the artifacts right next to them, though.

The furniture in the museum is outstanding, there is plenty to look at and plenty of unique pieces. The curators treat you like 6 year old children with sticky fingers. They will welcome you in, let you pay then shove you through the museum without letting you take a millisecond to look at anything. I would not recommend not due to the furniture but due to the angry people who so obviously hate their jobs that work here.

Interesting although limited showcase of restored artifacts. Workshop tours require advanced booking or try to time your visit during the daily scheduled tours.

Wonderful foundation that keeps Portuguese historical traditional woodwork techniques alive and well. The museum is a must see. You'll be able to walk through several century's of historical recreation of Portuguese nobility and royalty living conditions.

👍👍 Beautiful place. It's such a pleasure to be here in any season in full sun or under the moon. The Belem tower is awesome ! This fortress in the middle of the Tagus has been the starting point for the navigators who set out to discover the trade routes. The expansive spirit is still present here. En...
