Best place I eat in Portugal. 9€ for a massive portion, water, bread, dessert and coffee. Really good quality food and super friendly staff. I will come back!

Absolutely perfect, it was like eating at my grandma's place. A real typical restaurant with the price that goes with it. 9€ for the daily meal you choose between meat or fish, you have a drink, a dessert, bread and a coffee included in the meal, and the dish is huge. The service is perfect and the owner is lovely and tries to speak English and Spanish for the people that need it.

Gigantic portions of local Portuguese dishes. Primarily a local place. Mostly full both times we were there. No English menu. Google helps. Super friendly. Almost everyone orders the carafe of red wine that comes with the meal. The cod seems always on the menu, other options change.

Amazing experience! My second visit in this small restaurant. Hidden gem really! Delicious food, big portion, incredible price. Just 8 euros for main meal, bottle of wine and dessert and coffee 😍 Everytime when I visit Lisabon I have to visit Tunel de Alfama❤️❤️

We got SCAMMED in this place. We came as a group of four. Two of us ordered menu of the day (set for 9,5€) and two - drinks. Men who took our order said something in Portuguese and then brought meals for four. We didn’t want to be rude about it so we didn’t argue that this wasn’t our order (just accepted that we will pay more). Neither of us got first course (salad or soup). Then I went to cashier to pay for all (including the meals we didn’t order and courses that we didn’t get despite being part of the set). I came back to our table and sat for next 10minutes and left the place. Men run after us and forced me to pay again. As a result, instead of paying for 2 sets of menu of the day and drinks, I was forced to pay for 8 (EIGHT!!!) sets of menu of the day and drinks, and didn’t get half of the courses.

Remember to tell them if you want the complete special meal $9 euros … otherwise, they will not tell you this special deal. BUT charge you money $ for each water, buns, fish/beef, coffee & desserts. Maybe they think we are tourists and understand nothing :(

Came here years ago and was astounded the taste and value. Came here years later and got astounded again. Best food I've had in Europe let alone Lisbon. Can't recommend enough. If you don't like the food here, your taste buds are broken

Extremely good value for money. Fresh fish and amazing dessert.

Incredible experience. For 8.50 Euro you get choice of meat or fish (the meat was lamb, not sure if that changes or is always the same), bread, rice, fries, wine, dessert and coffee. The place seemed very local. Didn’t see any other tourists in there. The owner seemed to be the only one there preparing and serving the food. He was a kind, older gentleman who seemed to know what he was doing and took pride in his job. The whole experience felt very authentic. Everything was very tasty, from the wine to the dessert. Cannot recommend this place enough!
