Fun hostel with lovely staff! Only downside is that it was very hot in our room and the bed felt quite flimsy. Really enjoyed our stay, though.

Staff was really friendly and amazing, no complaints there. However if you are looking for somewhere to have good sleep this isn’t it. Bunk beds are old and noisy and bottom bunks are totally enclosed so it’s really hot in the summer without AC. The toilets were okay, one was very dirty. Some people in our room took the wrong beds and some poor guy checking in at 1:30am couldn’t go to bed because someone was in it. As others have mentioned you have to pass through some dorms to get to others so there isn’t much privacy. Mmm I personally wouldn’t return, but I suppose you get what you pay for with a cheaper price than other accommodations in the area. There is also a big effort for the hostel to organize gatherings for people to socialize with each other which is nice.

The staff isn’t concerned with the guests at all. The sanitaires are obsolete and quite dirty. The showers were full with hairs and dirt. Due to the warmth the rooms were brooding and whilst there isn’t airconditioning, prepare for rising temperatures. Although the building seems very nice in terms of the architecture, they don’t put much effort in maintaining it.

Rooms are really unclean, staff are unfriendly, the hostel has no atomsphere would NOT recommend for anyone who wants to meet people. The kitchen is so dirty and the breakfast is disgusting.

This hostel was really nice to meet new people, the common areas are well organized. The breakfast and the cleanliness are okay, some beds are way too close but you can easily change if you want to. You can also leave your bag during the day or a bit more if you need. Nice hostel!

The rooms are nothing special but they are clean. The service is wonderful and I love how they organize activities and have a chat for the guests so it is easier to meet someone. The hostel is near some bars and clubs and it is not far to walk to most places. The only thing is you will have to walk much upwards but that is the charm of lisboa.

Older building and no air conditioning in the rooms. If you’re here in the summer, it’s hotter in the room than outside. There’s no hand-soap in the ensuite bathroom which is nasty. The toilet seat is also broken. Their photos are very deceptive as they’re well taken with great lighting, it hides the dingy-ness of the building. Location is not good at all, far from Metro when you consider the hills. Breakfast is also nothing cool compared to other hostels in Lisbon. There’s many, many amazing hostels in Lisbon worth booking instead.

Absolutely loved staying here. I booked a private room with a shared bathroom. Not only was the room always clean, but the corridors and facilities were always clean as well! Staff was also very nice and friendly. Bit of a warning though, there are no elevators.

We stayed for one night at this hostel. Checking in late was no problem, the staff members were kind. We could also store our luggage easily after our stay. The mattresses are good and the bed is already made up when we arrived (nice if you check in late). The beds were in our dorm however really just next to each other, so it didn’t felt as much privacy. The ambiance is ok but quite individual, there are mostly groups of students or teenage friends. Meeting new people can be hard, I guess. Overall ok.

Very nice stay. Was nervous after reading some google reviews; their Hostelworld rating was high. It’s correct there’s no AC except for the common room by the reception. There’s fans in each bed and a larger fan by the door ceiling that was helpful. The workers come to change sheets after every guests leaves and bathrooms are cleaned daily. Everyone is very kind and helpful for directions and suggestions. Would 100% recommend.

5 stars for the friendly staff:) The hostel is very laid back and includes a game room with pool, ping-pong and table football. The rooms are spacious and the location is amazing (we could reach the center within a 15 minute walk). The only negative that I can think of is the lack of meat at the breakfast, but that might just be me. Anyway I would recommend everyone to stay here and enjoy the good vibes.

!!!! UNSAFE HOSTEL !!!!! We need to warn all GIRLS that this hostel is not SAFE at all. Anyone can enter the building at any time of the day, and, most importantly, the GIRL'S BATHROOM are fully open (you don't need a key to access it or anything) and the toilets are easily breakable by anyone. A guy followed one of us into the bathroom, starred down at some girls, followed others into their rooms. The hostel did NOTHING about it when we warned them.

Difficult to get help at times since staff does not speak English. Rooms are not cleaned daily, garbage can not emptied for days. Positives: good kitchen and low prices but next time I would pay more to stay in a better place.

Great hostel with loads of facilities. The room I was in was average. But I did select one of the cheapest options. The pillows in the rooms are terrible. Barely any contents so you are basically sleeping on an empty pillow slip. The hostel is a large venue with a bar, pool table, ball pit/pool, lounge and a number of terraces. The location is great, close to the main stations. Breakfast is basic and included

I recently had the opportunity to stay at WOT New Lisbon Hostel in Lisbon City Center and I must say it was a fantastic experience. The hostel is conveniently located right in the heart of the city, making it very easy to explore all the popular attractions and landmarks. One of the things that stood out to me about this hostel is the friendly and welcoming staff. The hostel itself has a modern and stylish design, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and ample storage space for belongings. The common areas are spacious and well-equipped, offering a great place to relax and socialize with fellow travelers. Another highlight of WOT New Lisbon Hostel is the range of amenities and services available. There is a fully equipped kitchen where guests can prepare their own meals, as well as a cozy lounge area with board games for entertainment. The hostel also offers free Wi-Fi, which is a big plus for travelers who need to stay connected. The hostel also organizes various activities and events, such as Fado tours and pub crawls, which are a great way to meet other travelers and experience the vibrant nightlife of Lisbon. Overall, I highly recommend WOT New Lisbon Hostel to anyone visiting Lisbon. The prime location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and great amenities make it an excellent choice for budget-conscious travelers looking for a memorable stay in the city center.

Great place, even better staff. Had a nice experience with friends while staying here, playing pool and foosball in the game lounge, and having a few drinks at the lounge. The staff were always kind to help us with our needs and concerns, and in telling us about the fun activities and places we could enjoy. Rooms were also regularly cleaned so it would always smell nice when we came back after a day out. Would come back again.

Some room for improvement! Was given a durty bed, staff didn't really welcome me or showed the facilities around! Had to ask to be taken to the room , which I felt a non feeling for complying with my request! Size of the room , smaller than tiny. For 6 people, way too small! Over all, not a nice place in my opinion! And we have to wash the dishes after breakfast! Not mentioning the beds, super noisy !!

the dirtiest hostel I've ever slept in. the toilets are filthy and the bathrooms are full of mould. The bedrooms are dusty and dirty. For a free breakfast it's fine. could be more variation.

Top location next to barrio alto, good service, decent rooms, toilets and showers were a little small and simple. The ball pit was nice. Also there were a lot of social activities to participate (most of them involved alcohol). The included breakfast was also very nice.

Very expensive hostel for a very dirty structure and rude staff. I found hair in my bed as well as dirty sheets. Even though we had booked an overnight stay with breakfast included, the girl at the reception (very rude) made it a point to point out to us that “breakfast was kindly offered by the staff and not included in our payment”. Absurd!! For a little more money you will stay in more central and CLEAN structures!!!!

Great location! Great breakfast too, the hotel offers beverages , cakes , coffee, break , jam etc… we booked a private room at the last floor , we had no place to store our clothes … the bed and especially the pillows were very very uncomfortable, we woke up with pain everywhere! (Which is a bit weird cause we paid a lot of money and had no proper pillows) a special thanks to the receptionist who was super friendly and brought us new pillows. I was hesitating between 3 or 4 stars as I said great vibes , food and location just the room / confort could be better for the price we paid. (The pillows were really so thin like a piece of paper)

What bothered me the most was the wifi that didn't work during my whole stay, and no discount whatsoever was given. Shower water just drained everywhere. Bed sheets were too small for the bed (at least the staff changed after I complained). Room facing common area during a "2 drinks for 1 night event" meaning a lot of noise. Heads up for that fact that the locker doesn't have a lock, you need to buy one if you don't have one.

Had a really amazing stay here. The staff were super friendly on several occasions with recommendations and local knowledge. Rooms had lovely features and balconies. Cleanliness is top notch, hostel room floors regularly cleaned and everywhere smells lovely. Social whatsapp group to join in activities. Location was perfect for bars and nightlife meaning was always less than a ten minute walk home for me. Thanks so much!!! Special shoutout to the receptionists!! Really cool people :)

The room was dirty also the kitchen and the sanitaries. I stayed almost a week, but they did not clean the floor once in my room. The staff was friendly, but not all the time. Unfortunately I could not sleep very well, because it’s really very loud, the walls als super thin. Breakfast was not great, a lot of sweet, unhealthy stuff. The Internet is fast, but that’s the only plus. It was very disappointing and way to expensive for the service provided.

I went for two nights with my partner and we did not have the best of experiences... Yes, the common room looks very good and they have many rooms with games to play, but If you go exclusively to sleep there like we did... everything could be improved. Our room was ok in size, we didn't expected much, but out toilet smelt terrible constantly, since the morning there was this sewer smell, and the toiled door is imposible to close (we had to use the bin) Noise through the hostal is present as well, specially at night, we even heard someone peeing in the toilet in front of our room. The breakfast option could be a bit wider, but I don't want to extend It. In general, there were Airbnbs rooms that can be a better option.

Worst hostel in Lisbon... We arrived ad discovered that the HUB in Bairro alto was closed eventhough we had the confirmation from booking. We were then moved to the HUB nomad at our cost. When we arrived there, we discovered that it was really far from the center and from any point of interest. There, the receptionist (who was really nice and patient by the way) told us that our room was no longer available and that we have to pay extra to stay. The management team didn't even wanted to set the same price that we paid for our initial reservation. We ended up paying more than a room in an hotel downtown... If you don't want to risk any inconvenience, avoid this hostal chain and better book a nice cheap local hotel.

Great hostel in an amazing location. My first visit has prompted 2 further visits since. Staff friendliness seemed to be slipping on the last trip but maybe it was just bad timing. Would still go back. Always meet great people in the bar and rooms are well maintained. Not to mention the ball pit.

Pros: - great atmosphere - good staff - decent WiFi - comfortable beds Cons: - toilets. Although bathrooms seem to be cleaned on a daily basis, they have mold on the walls and shower courtains. - a bit noisy as the floor is made of wood and guests tend to make noise after 11pm. Maybe a bit more reinforsement from staff during check-in could help. Overall, if you plan to stay for a night or two, it's def a good choice. For longer period, I'd reconsider it.

AVOID! STAY ELSEWHERE! In July, this place was an inferno. No fan to move the air in 90+ degree heat?!? Unacceptable. And sadly the staff were unfriendly and not helpful. We asked for a fan and they just brushed us off. I actually ended up buying a portable fan to get through the hot nights. Photos of this place online don’t match reality. What looked like cute dorm rooms with capsule-like beds are really just old bunks in tiny spaces scattered throughout the building. Beds are uncomfortable with barley a functioning pillow. Bathroom drains need to be properly cleaned because they’re moldy and smelly. The atmosphere here is not very nice either… A horrible place! I’ve been to much better hostels than this. Wish I stayed somewhere else and will NEVER stay here again when I return to Lisboa.

Let me say that after I booked I went through some bad review and I was pretty scared ! Don’t believe them . Staff were always nice and smiling ; willing to help . Toilet and shower tidy and clean . Breakfast has cakes , cereals and fresh bread to fill with jams or chocolate or veg. Fresh fruit available plus a super new automatic coffee Machine with the offer of different coffee options . I can recommend it

  • 3/5 Rollo D. 1 year ago on Google
The breakfast was prepared by an amatoire..Only sweet things event ⁶ the 3 type of cakes were sweet. Heyyy there are diabetics.. Fruit juice machine was weird. Something jelly comes out and you add water and it was sweeter than sugar.... Employees were good so I gave 3 stars

Extremely cramped room, with no fans. Paid extra for ensuite only to discover the toliet and shower are just cut-outs in the wall with 0 privacy and that you're playing a lottery when you check in for whether you'll have space in the room besides your bed. Wi-fi didn't reach the room either. Charging extension cable didn't work in the bed and despite asking the desk for a replacement 3 nights in a row, it was still broken when I checked out. The breakfast was quite disgusting overall with actual rotten apples, extremely suspect tasting coffee and stale bread, only being somewhat redeemed by the store-bought cakes. The only reason it gets a 2 is because it's not unliveable. It's simply a continuous sequence of inconveniences that made the trip considerably worse, but nothing to the point of resounding horror or disgust. That being said the people there were all pleasant to interact with and it's entirely possible I ended up in the worst bed in the entire hostel. The communal areas weren't bad and if you want to meet lots of people, there certainly will be a lot of people because they're using every square-foot of the place. In conclusion, you should probably go somewhere else. I wanted to conserve on my budget after spending too much on hostels elsewhere, but it seems you get what you pay for in life, and this has just been another case that attests to that.

It's great if you want to meet new people and want a nice atmosphere. Everything is okay, like every other hostel. People give bad reviews cause they expect hotel like cleanliness and service even tho they pay less then half the price for a night. It's a Hostel, if you want privacy and quietness take a hotel jeez.

Would definitely recommend it. Overall was quite nice. If you’re someone who loves an old building you’ll love it! The building is a labyrinth so you feel like you’re in an adventure movie and the building is quite beautiful. That being said, because it’s an old building, the acoustics are terrible so would recommend you to bring your ear plugs. This I guess they can’t do anything about which is fair. But the staff is wonderful, super helpful and the location is fantastic too. Also if you’re coming to lisbon, then bring as less luggage as possible. You’ll be happier. But yes, would definitely recommend it.

Overall not a bad hostel. The bar was super cheap but other than that the hostel was quite dirty and there was no AC in my room and I was constantly sweating in the hostel... don't know if I would go back but not a terrible experience.
