The experience with the Swan Lake was beautiful, the sound quality was impeccable, you could almost feel the orchestra was right in front of you. However, the seatings are very unfortunate - I barely saw the stage and were sitting in a prime row, I can’t even imagine what the others could see. The event was in the afternoon, with hundreds of of children, and there was no booster or anything that could allow them to see the show. If it’s an experience you want to savor, or if it’s your first experience (as it certainly was for 90% of those kids), this is not a minor detail.

We saw the Christmas Circus and it was a great show, several different groupa of top notch performers, perfect for Kids and longer than we expected. Go to the earlier shows as the evening show has extremely long lines.

Strange venue with seats in the round and several areas of restricted view seats. Make sure you look at the seat plan before you book tickets.

I’ve seen the idles there a month ago, the venue is super impressive and I’m already looking forward to the next concert there!

I went there more recently to see John Cleese on his "Last time to see me" tour and, again, it was a great feeling. It's a large hall, very popular, in a building that shows its age but that it's still the place to go for every performer coming to Lisbon, rather than more modern and fancy venues.

The space is well organised and it’s easy to find your seat. The place is beautiful and quite big. The only downside is that it has no AC. It was a 26C degrees night, crowded and both public and presenters were drenched. It takes a bit off the experience.

This review isn't about the show that I saw because it was brilliant but the place lack of renovations. It is an old venue, we get it but the lack of comfort on the seats and the too warm place make it way uncomfortable experience. The rest is small so pretty much you see pretty well from almost every place except the ones besides the palco because that's too close and you will need to be looking to the side (weird)

Lovely wood antique-ish vibe, looks nice overall, it has a little coffee station with drinks and snack.. only things I would change are those super tiny uncomfy hard thin wooded seats!! Also, the audio they need more speakers.

Cultural concert arena, fair acoustics, but you should note the configuration, presentations out of center of arena (in the main stage) have a lot of dead spots, places you can't see the stage at all. At least two dozen of suites and another 200 seats are in those areas, and the only option is to check the presentation in the last floor, unseated. Main importance part have to put conditioning is subpar, getting hot easily during crowded events. Not my first or second option, but there are not much options in Lisbon. Enjoyable.

We went there for the Gentleman concert. It's not really big but not too small either. The sound was not the best but got better at the end.

The place is beautiful and full of history but there isn't AC. It's impossibel to enjoy any concert due to high temperature.

Having a great time at Swan Lake, but be careful booking your seats. For some weird reason, all the odd number seats are on one side of the hall, and the even numbers are on the other side. My wife and I are in nos 25 and 26, but we're on opposite sides of the hall!!

The Coliseum is undoubtedly a cultural masterpiece that continues to leave me awe-inspired. Nestled within the heart of the city, it stands as a testament to both the rich history and the modern vibrancy of Lisbon. Having graced its stage numerous times, collaborating with esteemed Portuguese singers, I can confidently affirm that this venue holds a special place in the hearts of artists and audiences alike. One of the most striking aspects of the Coliseum is its seamless blend of historical charm and contemporary amenities. Its façade exudes an old-world charm that speaks to Lisbon's storied past, while its state-of-the-art facilities ensure a comfortable and immersive experience for both performers and spectators. The grandeur of the architecture sets the stage for an enchanting evening, and the interior transports you into a world where every note reverberates with a sense of reverence for the arts. The acoustics within the Coliseum are nothing short of extraordinary. As a musician, the experience of playing on this stage is a true delight. The way the sound fills the space and embraces the audience creates a connection that is truly magical. It's a place where music isn't merely heard, but felt. Whether it's the soaring melodies of a symphony or the rhythmic beats of a contemporary performance, the Coliseum's acoustics enhance every note and elevate every emotion. In the backdrop of Lisbon's cultural landscape, the Coliseum stands tall as an emblem of the city's dedication to preserving its heritage while embracing innovation. It's a venue that respects tradition while providing a platform for contemporary expression. The synergy between the past and the present is palpable, making every performance a celebration not only of the arts but also of Lisbon's spirit. In conclusion, the Lisbon Coliseum is a treasure trove of artistic experiences. Its historical significance, modern amenities, impeccable acoustics, and the profound connection it fosters between artists and audiences make it an unparalleled destination for cultural enrichment. As someone who has had the privilege of performing there alongside esteemed Portuguese artists, I can confidently say that the Coliseum's legacy continues to shine brightly, making it an indispensable cornerstone of Lisbon's cultural identity.

Cool place to see some art performance: comedy, theatre and so on… however, some seats has no visibility (I really mean no visibility)

Coliseu dos Recreios is a cultural treasure in the heart of Lisbon. With its stunning architecture and rich history, it is an iconic location that delights lovers of the performing arts. The Coliseum has a unique atmosphere, which combines elegance and intimacy, providing an exceptional theatrical experience. Its impeccable acoustics and classic design create a perfect setting for concerts, dance shows, theater plays and other cultural events. In addition, its privileged location in the center of the city makes it easily accessible to the public. The Coliseu dos Recreios is a true cultural heritage, preserving tradition and promoting the appreciation of the arts in a unique and memorable space.

I booked to go and see Hollywood Symphony Orchestra. I did not see Hollywood Symphony Orchestra. Instead, what I got was a knock off European version; hosted by this shams of an establishment. If you host them, you're part of the problem of the scam that is this Orchestra. I spent £220, and planned my holiday around this show.

It was my first time at this venue and I was really impressed. It was not too big, so the music was not lost and you felt part of it. Excellent location. Will definitely come back

Came here to see Wolf Alice (Oct 2022). People can queue from R. das Portas de Santo Antão entrance. There is a cloak-room inside (paid) and a simple bar. It’s not a large venue, and the acoustics could be a little better, but otherwise it functions well - including the air conditioning.

We had balcony seats and the light wasn’t great at all, unfortunately. A big light was shooting directly in my face and I struggled to see what was going on on the stage

It's one of my favourite venues in Lisbon, BUT... Ventilation is completely inappropriate. Way too hot inside, even for seated events.

Venue is OK, but only take Portuguese cards. Didn't see a sign before we got in. Take cash if no card. Long queue for drinks

Iconic and placed in the middle of Lisbon, Coliseu dos Recreios is a hallmark for cultural events in the capital. That being said, architecture and infrastructure stand on polar opposites. Architecturally speaking, this place is displays a time of its own, which is marvellous and nostalgic. Sadly, the infrastructure is also stuck in the past, outdated and desperately needing improvement. The room can also get pretty hot and uncomfortable.

Saw Jimmy Carr and Michael Mcintyre here. Absolutely joy to be here. Concession stand could do with multiple cash counters, very long queue's..but love the history of this place. A must see when in Lisbon.
