👍👍 Incredible food. Amazing atmosphere (we sat outside on a nice night). Unpretentious. Excellent service. This is the best octopus I’ve ever had (I did the eight course). Wine pairing was very good and the servers + staff knew their stuff well. They were also very friendly. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE FOR... Best thing to do is keep this for the end as a cherry on top.

After a recent visit to Loco and Pedros Lemos we were excited to continue our Michelin roadmap in Portugal. So we decided for a last minute tasting at Grenache after finding them in the Michelin guide. The location is amazing and the venue is cozy with a nice atmosphere. We were welcomed by an experienced and friendly staff. While each and every dish was a visual joy, the rest was disappointing. The biggest disappointment was the texture of most of the food which played a big role during the evening. Couvert - pretty basic couvert to start off the tasting menu. The bread sticks were fresh and tasty. The bread slices were dry on one side. The fish jelly was absolutely delicious and uplifting. But the chicken liver crisps and croquettes looked nice but didn't really impress. Beef Tartare, Oyster, Caviar Osciétre - The oyster was overpowering the whole dish. The cheese crisp stuck to the teeth and the actual beef didn't bring much flavour or texture. Foie Gras, Smoked Eel, Red Cabbage - Great flavours with a delicious smoked eel in the middle. But the foie gras was way too buttery in terms of flavour and texture, so it would've been better accompanied by something starchy than pickled red cabbage. Teriyaki Glazed Octopus, Red Pepper 'Coulis', Spring Rolls, Yuzu Gelée - Octopus was tender and flavourful. Too many raw components on the plate that didn't sit well with me. John Dory, Jerusalem Artichoke, Lemon, Ginger, Chicken Jus With Anchovies - Amazing flavours. While John Dory is a firm fish, this was too dry. The artichokes were rock hard. Great jus and black garlic sauce. Pigeon, Beetroots, Pickled Black Berry, Juniper Berry Polenta, Sauce “Salmis” - This was my least liked plate. The squab was on the tougher side and the beetroot tasted dirt. Cantal, Roasted Apple, Brioche - Strange dish to have on the tasting menu. Felt more like a side dish. Yogurt Sorbet, Sauce Gin Fizz, Dill Meringue - This was my favourite dish throughout the menu. Sorbet was tasty and the sponge cake on the side was delicious. Valrhona Chocolate Textures, Caramelised Bananas, Tonka Emulsion - Tasty caramelised banana, but the rest had a refrigerator taste like it had been stored there for a few hours.

For Michelin guide types: I've been to two Michelin 1-star restaurants in Portugal, and this "Michelin recommended" restaurant was better than one of them and the food was on par with the second. Absolutely excellent. I'm not a "take pictures of my food person" or so I thought and then this place, momentarily, converted me (while no one was looking I hope).

Tucked away from the crowds and up in middle of Gracia & Alfama. My partner selected this Gem of a place for a romantic birthday dinner and I was Immensely impressed. We were wowed with the degustacao tasting menu. My top favorites: Turbot, the Mushroom tartlet, and the smoked eel. The langoustine ravioli also made a special appearance. The chef sources premium local Portuguese ingredients to exemplify French cuisine. Contemporary yet refined. The ambience and setting is located in a elegant residential/hotel courtyard. Dimly lit white top tables in the garden terrace, it gives one a sense of being in your own home, unpretentious and romantic. The staff are knowledgeable and explained and presented each dish with gusto. They were warm and welcoming and also accommodated a customized tasting menu due to food restrictions. In the end, they even serenaded a sweet birthday song. Overall, I’ve been to many Michelin star rated restaurants from California to Tokyo and Hong Kong. I don’t believe the star defines the experience of a customer or even the overall quality of the restaurant but I sure hope this gem of a spot gets one because it’s well deserved. Bravo!

Had a pairing menu set, was lovely! Beautiful presentation and interesting choice of wine, dinner set was also beautiful in terrace hidden by big pretty door, romantic dining experience. Recommended for couples! Shoutout to the friendly sommelier, he is knowledgable and very nice. Food is great, service is great. Book first.

Fantastic service, food, atmosphere and location. Couldn't really ask for a better night out than here. Highly recommend the 6 course tasting menu matched with wines. Waiter was lovely to deal with and very happy to accommodate any requests.

We loved our evening at the Grenache restaurant :-)! The food was amazing - next time we'll definitely take the "as many courses as they offer"-menue. The food is inventive, yet delicate and so beautifully arranged. We also loved the service which was done by the chef himself tonight. Also the wines were complementing each course in a really nice way. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere which is a nice mix between cozy and modern. Very relaxed and great ambient. We definitely recommend going here.

By far our best dinner in Lisbon. The service is amazing, the waiter explained every single dish on the menu with care and recommended great wine. We were reluctant of what to order but when we tried the complementary starter, we knew that everything here would probably taste great. We ended up choosing the 6 courses tasting menu and everything tasted AMAZING! Would come back again if I ever visit Lisbon in the future.

The food is delicious, no doubt. The cheese dish was a bit strong and too much for me but maybe it’s just me:) Little tips: definitely a good place to dine but if aiming for Michelin ⭐️, need to pay more attention to the customers such as their dietary restrictions ( I am allergic to chocolate and had informed upfront before walking in the restaurant, they still served me dessert with coco powder 😵‍💫) Last, the little details such as pouring soup/wine carefully without spilling would perfect the dining experience.

Simply outstanding food in a lovely relaxed setting - not your average Lisbon cuisine but unforgettable all the same - and an amazing wine list to boot. Highly recommended.

Perfect dinner! The food was outstanding and could easily adapt to my intolerances (I pre warned them as they are unusual). We did the Experience menu and every course was incredible. Location was beautiful and romantic. Will be back!
