Amazing experience at Living Lounge Hostel. Pros: - Location is superb. You have everything around within less than a 10 min walk. - Cleaning is great. You are not in a 5 star hotel but I was really impressed how clean this hostel was compared to many others I have stayed with. - Breakfast. Scrambled eggs are served around 9am so be patient! Cons: - No elevator. If you need assistance you can always ask for it. No recommended for people with mobility requirements.

Smack, bang in the thick of things, yet super-quiet at night. I had the top room to myself at a 'Mrs Rochester- attic room' price due to the additional stairs (there's a luggage lift though, in case you didn't travel light). The old building is beautiful, cool, delightfully furnished and clean. Breakfast is included and comprises of fresh rolls, jam/ cheese, coffee, tea, juice, cereal, pancakes. You can book a home-cooked dinner for just 15 euros too. Bargain! Reception is 24 hours and staff friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

As they say, you always remember your firsts. This was my first hostel, and what a high standard it set. Super clean because the cleaning service was was constantly around. Everybody working at the desk throughout the day and night was very helpful and accommodating. The most memorable experiences were all the people I met and chatted with from around the world. Brilliant!

The location was perfect, very close to city center attractions. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. The room came with a hot breakfast which was a nice addition. I would for sure stay here again.

Nice place. Staff who was checking me in was somewhat okay, but staff at night was very friendly and nice. Good quality but I wished there was an elevator (or even the elevator for luggage which was out of order for all my 3 nights stay, has a note saying they will fix it asap but didn’t think so) Their rooms/washrooms are clean (bit small and squeaky bed but clean). Breakfast was nice but I really really really wished they have better coffee.. they offer lots of tour informations and Sintra tour discounts! (which I didn’t get to go due to the guide not being available, so self toured which wasn’t so bad) They have dinner offers but I didn’t try. I did stayed up one night until 2am drinking their bar wine bottle at the common area which was nice too.

Perfect location, in Lisbon center just next to Baixa-Chiado metro station. Rooms and beds are large (as far as I know, I was in a 4 beds room), every bed has it's own locker quite large. The hostel is kept very clean and there are lots of bathrooms, some shared and some private. It's included a great breakfast, with crepes, eggs, marmalade and so on. Every night you can join for common dinner, for new year's eve they organized a very good dinner at a cheap price.

Great hosts, with in our experience especially Sofia <3. Love the dinner eve's they organize, Miguel knows how to cook simple, but delicious and money worth meals! Had a phenomenal trip here with my partner. We had a private room with a balcony and access to spotless shared bathrooms. The bathrooms themselves feel very private when using, as the door has a lock and contains a toilet, sink and shower. The hostel in general is spotless and is cleaned thoroughly each day. Each floor has its own little lounge area for reading, and the main floor has a kitchen, dining room and living space. The included breakfast is basic but very good, with breads, crepes, eggs, cereals, fruit and yoghurt. A selection of juices, teas and instant coffee is also provided. The hostel attracts guests with a more mature and relaxed mindset, and so you won’t find groups of party goers making noise in the early hours of the morning. The hostel has a very sophisticated aura to it. I would definitely recommend. The location is perfect and beds comfortable.

Without a doubt one of the best hostels in which I have stayed. The facilities are incredible, and the staff is friendly. The rooms and bathrooms are always clean and decorated nicely. Will book back if I visit Lisbon again. The only thing is that I wouldn’t recommend it for ppl with knee problems or disabilities since there is no elevator and you have to climb many steps. Besides that, many thanks for all!

This place is worth the extra $ (it's pricier than other hostels). If you like staying right downtown, the location is impeccable. There ate restaurants nearby and just a few steps to Justa Lift. The staff are all helpful, like they go an extra mile to give tips and make sure I have a good time. Special thanks to Ricardo and the lady with long hair (we had fun watching the world cup with you)! The bathroom is clean and there are plenty of place to seat at the common areas. My only comment would be the breakfast. It's all carbs and sugar. Although it's enough to give some energy to start the day, I wish they'd boil eggs for some protein. Regardless, I'll stay here again if I come back to Lisbon.

It felt Dated, tiny bed, and no where to put a bag or suitcase. The chest decoration is a large piece of art for a small room, especially if it has no purpose and the space could be better used. Nice hostel near the metro station of Baixa-Chado. From there it is possible to reach any area of Lisbon, so the position is very strategic. Yes, you are in an old building in a city center, so this is not the place for you if city noise bothers you and/or you don't want to do stairs. (You'll be much happier if you bring a backpack instead of a roller bag.) If you're traveling solo and looking for a safe, clean, and convenient home base, it can't be beat. There's even AC for us AC-loving Americans ;) Literally right across the street from the Baixa-Chiado Metro station, which is perfect for getting an early start on day trips (Rossio, the station you need to get to Sintra, is a 7 minute walk. Santa Apolina, which gets you to Cascais and intercity rail, is only two stops away.) Small cons (that given the value, I don't have much of a right to complain about): no hooks in the single room, so my wet towel had to just sit there; one of the bathroom doors on the second floor wouldn't close; hallway noise could be a bit much, both nothing a white noise machine couldn't address.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. It is sparkling clean, with purposeful design that is eclectic, with both a boutique and quirky feel at the same time. The location is amazing. Both close to the train station (10 metres away) and all of the main sights. The place is so clean, it's almost ridiculous. Room was wonderful, dinner for 15 euros was a buffet 3-course meal. Just stayed at a place in Porto that was supposedly good, but really cannot compare. Book this place if it's available, cannot recommend it enough!

The whole hostel is beautifully decorated, really clean and I never had to wait for a free shower in the morning. I stayed in a 8-bed dorm and it was really comfortable, even with so many people. There were quite a few solo female travelers, including me, and I think it's a really good hostel for that, even if you're not 25 anymore. They do offer various activities to meet other guests: pub crawls, walking tours and a dinner which always smelled pretty good. I already had plans what I wanted to do, so I didn't have time to join in these activities. I can fully recommend the Living Lounge Hostel when visiting Lisbon.

Booked a stay here in July.. We arrived after midnight and it was so nice to be greeted by such a stellar dude! Thank you Richard! He explained everything we needed to know with regards to the hostel and answered all our questions. The hostel location was super convenient, everything was walking distance. I’ve stayed in a number of hostels and I can confidently say this one takes the cake. Ambiance was great, they have a substantial breakfast, rooms are spacious with tons of room for all your stuff in the lockers. The shower stalls are on the smaller side and I would recommend bringing a pair of flip flops to use around the hostel and in the showers. I was very pleased with all the counter space in the washroom as well. They offer a tour to Sintra, which we really enjoyed and highly recommend. Sergio was our guide; he shared with us some interesting history about each spot we went to. Before reaching Pena Palace we had lunch and a glass of wine.. this was included in the price of the tour! You will be spending time in the van, so bring a blanket and a pillow if you plan on napping while on the road. When we arrived at Pena Palace it was foggy and cold; we decided not to go into the palace as it was crowded with tourists trying to escape the chilly temperature. In the case that this happens on your visit to the Palace I would suggest bringing a hooded jacket and/or an umbrella because the Palace grounds are beautiful and definitely worth a gander.

The place is sparkling clean. Beds comfy. The staff super helpful with providing tips, directories, getting around the city. As a solo traveler, this was indespensible ! My only suggestion would be more variety for breakfast.
