BED
BUGS!
During
my
first
night
at
the
hostel,
I
faced
a
distressing
situation
that
severely
impacted
my
health
and
well-being.
The
room
I
was
assigned
to
was
infested
with
bed
bugs,
to
which
I
am
allergic.
This
not
only
resulted
in
sleepless
nights
but
also
posed
a
serious
risk
to
my
health,
considering
my
allergy.
Upon
reporting
the
issue
to
the
hostel
reception,
I
was
shocked
to
learn
that
two
other
rooms
were
closed
for
the
same
reason,
indicating
a
significant
public
health
concern
within
the
establishment.
Despite
my
allergy
and
the
clear
health
risk,
the
only
solution
offered
was
a
room
transfer,
which
I
understandably
refused.
Following
the
hostel's
inadequate
response,
I
reached
out
to
b-.com
customer
support
for
assistance,
presenting
photos
with
evidence
of
the
state
my
skin
was
in
after
the
incident.
Initially,
I
was
misinformed
about
the
response
time,
being
told
the
hostel
had
30
minutes
to
reply,
but
in
a
third
call,
corrected
to
a
24-hour
window.
After
waiting
for
this
period,
I
was
informed
that
the
hostel
had
not
responded,
and
subsequently,
I
was
offered
a
mere
15%
refund
of
the
total
reservation
cost.
This
response
is
utterly
unacceptable
given
the
circumstances.
Not
only
did
I
suffer
economically
due
to
the
costs
associated
with
medical
treatments
(15,64€),
transportation
(8,00€),
and
securing
alternative
accommodation,
but
I
also
endured
significant
distress
and
inconvenience.
What
troubles
me
most
is
the
disparity
in
support
based
on
the
value
of
the
reservation
(admitted
by
the
customer
support
agent
herself).
It
appears
that
because
my
bookings
are
of
lower
value,
I
am
being
denied
the
assistance
and
consideration
I
deserve
as
a
loyal
and
longstanding
B-.com
customer.
So
in
addition
to
a
Hostel
with
broken
toilets,
that
offer
no
security
for
female
traveller's,
two
sockets
for
a
6
bed's
dorm,
no
curtains
on
the
beds,
poorly
frequented,
in
which
the
receptionist
is
never
there,
if
you
have
more
serious
hygienic
problems,
such
as
BED
BUGS,
it
is
better
to
bear
your
own
loss,
as
B-.com
will
not
offer
you
any
assistance.
