LxFactory is a surprise! This old historical industrial complex house which right now is an artistic, touristic, and entertainment spot in Lisbon will surprise you with the variety of options that you can choose. And if between these houses you are searching for a calm spot to sit and have a conversation or read a book and take tea, or wine, you may choose Ler Devagar . The shop is down to top full of books and a small bar offer you a limited number of choices in drinks and snacks. vintage chairs and tables and metallic infrastructure creating an environment of the 70´s. On a cold November night, I was preferring the place being warmer. However, I enjoyed being there with friends.

Amazing bookshop, having books in Portuguese and in English. I really like that they used this old factory building to convert it in such a cool place. You can also have a coffee in the small bar on the ground floor.

Such a cute book store and there's even a coffee shop in here! Saw some people using their laptop here, seems like a good work space. There's also a small gallery upstairs, and they have a little store that sells music records too.

One of the nicest bookstores I've ever visited. The store is located in an old typography - the walls are VERY high and stacked full with books! There's a bar that serves foods/drinks and it looks like the perfect, cosiest place to chill and read or study. There's a part of the store on the first floor that is dedicated to jazz music and has a huge selection of CDs. Definitely worth a visit. Loved it!

Ler Devagar, which means "Read Slowly," is considered one of the most beautiful bookstores globally, attracting lots of people who love taking pictures for Instagram. This Lisbon gem has earned its place as a must-visit spot for both locals and tourists alike, offering a haven of aesthetic wonderment that is highly Instagram-worthy. Inside Ler Devagar, it feels like you're surrounded by books everywhere. There's a café on the first floor where you can relax. Upstairs, there's a place where they show cool things and a record store called Jazz Messengers that's been open since 1980. Also, here you can see "The Flying Bicycle, a striking artwork by Pietro Proserpio. Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's ornithopter, Proserpio fashioned the iconic "Mona Lisa" flying bicycle, a true marvel of creativity. Ler Devagar's story emerges from the ashes of an old print shop, infusing the space with nostalgia through the presence of antique printing presses that whisper tales of a bygone era. This independent bookstore is like a perfect example of a place that loves books and wants everyone to enjoy reading. It's a cozy and interesting spot where you can have fun.

COOL bookstore with a huge selection of unique books. It’s two floors of books and the third floor is a maker space. Really awesome space and just fun to look around. Most books are in Portuguese just FYI.

A fashionable bookstore with café. The second floor is like a gallery. The entrance is normal but the inside of the store is amazing.

Ler Devager, LX Factory Lisbon: Having lived in most capital cities like New York, London and Amsterdam, I can safely say there’s nothing like this bookstore meets café meets record shop. It’s nostalgic, vintage, bohemsian and contemporary. Everything rolled into one. Previously a press factory (the old equipment have been left there which now becomes uber cool), it’s now where you get offbeaten titles and old records. Tourists and locals sniff their way in here and marvel at the amazing interior. It’s like ants walking up the metal staircases in amazement. Little wonder it was recognised by New York Times as one of the best and quirkiest bookstores. #eatstylishtravelstylish

Great bookstore at LX Factory. Highly recommend you stop here before dinner and drinks. They have a cafe on the ground floor with some seating and of course, books. Crisp feel on this floor. Different vibe upstairs. Vinyl records up there, love the jazz selection. It was a pleasant surprise actually. And love the art out front.

A nice bookstore, they have a nice selection, we spent quite a bit of time inside and bought a few books. Prices are reasonable, I recommend it. However, I had a strange experience inside. I like translating and examining books with my phone in different languages that catch my interest. I was translating the title of a book when a male employee approached me and warned me not to take photos. When I explained that I was just translating, he understood and said okay. Still, I was bothered by this situation. You're a bookstore, you sell books, you should be happy for your books to be browsed and for someone to take a photo of a book they like. What harm could taking a photo of a book cover possibly do? You shouldn't approach it so commercially.

It's such a cute bookstore, I am in love, They have English books as well and the cutest post cards if you want to send something a little more original than the regular souvenir store generic postcards.

A magnificent, original library located in an artistic district. The building used to be a newspaper mill, but has been converted into a library. Don't hesitate to make the detour!!

Very wonderful bookshop! I talked with the staff and asked for recommendation. When he was describing one of the books, I literally fall for it. I appreciate his recommendation and patience.

Easily the retail highlight of LxFactory, Ler Devager is probably one of the best and most instagrammed spots in Lisbon! An old print factory featuring a bar, bookshop, Jazz section, artist space to work and gallery space for their art! Literally thousands an hour descend on this space and while few actually buy, those that don’t try to give the owners some cash by buying drinks! The old print machines are very cool and I like how artists have space in portions of the mechanism and other parts are used as display space! The whole area reminds me of Freetown in Copenhagen but without the drugs! This is a good place, with good people and set up, with attention to detail while being incredibly quirky at the same time.

Lovely library in an former printing factory. They left some of the machines and you can wander around them while choosing your next book. Also go upstairs to see the Jazz messengers and top up your vinyl jazz collection. They have a small bar for drinks so have a coffee, read your newly bought book and when you have refuelled go and see the other shops in LX Factory.Lots of discoveries to be made.

Beautiful book shop with excellent atmosphere. You can find a lot of books in Portuguese, but there are not that much English books, which is sad as this place is popular among tourists. Go there to see all of the amazing machines and book. Dive in into it!

Wish they had more tables with outlets but otherwise, a cool place to sit and read. You can purchase drinks and there’s even a small section of English books if you are learning or are a native speaker. It is a “tourist” attraction so there are moments of higher traffic for photos and videos of passerby folks but very quiet place. More comfortable chairs would be nice but I guess people would never leave lol lots of space fho

It's nice and large, but the majority of books are in Portuguese. The ones who are actually in English also quiet lack in variation of genres.

A steampunk bookstore. A vintage record store with music playing in the background. A cafe. Chaotically organized in a beautiful way.

It was dreamy when the sunshine was spreading on the flying bicycle, as if it was coming alive, flying towards the heaven of knowledge. It's amazing and unbelievable how wise people can be, and how books make it so easy for us to access the whole world's wisdom.

👍👍 This was probably one of my favorite brunches in Lisbon so far. We got there early around 10-11 and managed to get a spot pretty easily. When we left there was a lineup. Surprised the line wasn't longer. Every dish we had was spectacular... What we ordered / would we get it again Yogurt - if you...
