A fascinating, diverse museum in a gorgeous mansion. It's relatively undiscovered, so it was not crowded and therefore even more enjoyable! There was just a bit of documentation and really few stories behind any of the displays, but they are impressive nonetheless!

Extremely underrated museum! I highly recommend visiting if you love interior design. The tickets were only €5!!!!!! The staff are so nice, friendly, and helpful unlike most places. I expected the museum to be small but it turned out to be bigger than I expected it. It’s a place where you cannot appreciate its beauty via a picture, you need to be there to see it for yourself. The museum is so grand and full of glamour. I wish I came earlier so I didn’t rush my visit. It will take you 2hours minimum to fully see everything

Amazing museum, real gem in Lisboa. Have one of the best collections of fans and clocks. Also they have several important pieces of ceramic exported from China in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Shanghai Museum borrowed from them 4 or 5 pieces for a special exhibition 2021 named A Cultural Conversation between Chinese and European Ceramic.

Beautiful museum. Entrance is 6 euros but it is worth it. To add, it is not that busy so you get to enjoy it without being disturbed by other guests. Recommended.

Great museum with very rich collection. The only annoying part was having to find the information of the objects shown on the papers.

A must visit for those who appreciate craftsmanship from wood flooring cuts/stains/patterns to tile work. I visited late in the afternoon and had the place to myself.

A lovely private museum. The kids are free of charge. For two adults we paid 12 EUR and it was definitely worth it. The place collects so many historical jewelries ( unique clocks, Chinese cutleries, porcelain, jewelry and so many hand made original furnitures.

Wow. Walking through the huge house alone is a fantastic experience, let alone all the amazing pieces. Craftsmanship of the highest level, with many unique pieces. I go to a lot of museums and this is by far one of my favourites! It's almost like a small Rijksmuseum. Don't miss it, you'll want about 3 hours to see everything

(Translated by Google) it is a place with a special authentic atmosphere of old Lisbon, which, to the impossibility, realistically conveys the spirit of an era that has long sunk into oblivion. Not only unique collections of watches, silverware or Chinese ceramics deserve your attention, but also the refined interior of the mansion, its historical environment. may be an incentive to go to this small, but a charming museum will serve as a small "bun": on Saturday until one in the afternoon the visit is free! trifle, but nice :) and so the ticket price is about 5 €, but that’s not accurate;) (Original)

This museum is a hidden gem in Lisbon. Although it is the center of the capital, you don't see a lot of visitors there. It's a private collection of art and personal belongings such as jewe, watches, porcelain etc. It's a great way to get amused by incredible objects and make a trip back in time! Price: 5€ per person 60+: 3€ Under 18: free

A real gem. A wonderful home museum where you can see how a very wealthy family and collector lived. If you like lavish decor and opulence, this is for you. If you only have a short time in Lisbon: Entrance fee to the museum costs the same as to Belem Tower, but this is a much better place to visit.

Lord have mercy, the rich really are different from you and me. This private-house-turned-museum is absolutely unbelievable. Apparently the owners were serious art collectors, and they turned their beautiful home over to the public to share their treasures. I'm still overwhelmed by the sheer scope and beauty - my eyes could barely take everything in. Glorious jewelry, fans, and timepieces/clocks everywhere, most still in working condition. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a place on your itinerary!

Great collection of paintings, sculpture and most importantly furniture and home design. The omnipresence of the clock is outstanding. The french works are almost half of all art pieces, rest are divided between chinese artists and portuguese, etc. Best time Saturday mornings of first or third week of month and between 12-13 is free enterance. Its highly recommended to visit

Wonderful gem of a museum. It is the old villa of wealthy collectors, and thus provides a fascinating insight into Portuguese history. Beautifully laid out rooms with detailed descriptions available in multiple languages including English. It seems to be off the beaten tourist track which is an added bonus.

(Translated by Google) The Medeiros e Almeida House-Museum was the residence of himself who, still in his life, turned it into a museum. Of the different collections, the watches, Chinese porcelain and silver. The remaining collections include, but are not it could stop being, furniture and painting, but there are others like jewelery, textiles, glass, etc. Of interest is the tea service that belonged to Napoleon Bonaparte, a watch by Isabel of Bavaria, Empress of Austria, and the Jan Brueghel's “Stop”, dated 1605.

A hidden jewel. Lots to see here in terms of paintings, sculptures and other art objects. Some have been integrated into the fabric of the building. The fountain room and collection of pottery are especially noteworthy. The latter has some early Chinese pottery that is very good.

I recently visited the Medeiros and Almeida museum and was truly amazed by the collection of artifacts, painted portraits, and furniture. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the helpful staff who gave me a recommendation on what to explore first. They knew the collection so well and were more than happy to give me tips on the hidden gems within the museum. The collection was truly fascinating and I was able to find a variety of items that I wasn't expecting. I was particularly enthralled by the detailed painted portraits and furniture. The museum also had a wide selection of artifacts from all around the world, and I was able to learn a lot about the culture and history of those places. Overall, I had a great experience at the Medeiros and Almeida Museum and would highly recommend it to anyone in the area. The staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, and the collection of artifacts, painted portraits, and furniture was truly remarkable. It's definitely worth a visit!

What a fabulous little museum! There are lots of museums in Lisbon. This one was just around the corner from our hotel so we thought we’d give it a try. We were amazed at what a well organised, well presented venue it was with beautiful and interesting treasures. As it was a former family home, you also get a little of the connection with the family, especially as there is plenty of information about them around the museum. Nice little gift shop with some attractive pieces too. We bought some mementos of our trip. Well worth a visit.

Don’t miss. The entrance fee is a bargain. The collection viewed within the former residence is sick (good). It reminded me very much of Nissim Commando in Paris but I’d give the edge to this museum on the volume of valuable pieces.

The objects don't belong to the styles I like but I'm still happy to have seen them. I was intrigued by the alarm clock with candle and gunpowder and the clock illuminated from the inside to read the time at night. The jewels are splendid.
