Overpriced place. First of all we asked tap water, and they told us they "run out" of tap water. They offered replacement with boiled water for 3 euros. It's direct violation of local law which says eateries must provide free tap water if requested by customer, and cannot charge fee even lower than regular water price. Food itself was not very tasty and small portions, and in my personal opinion they lacked salt. If you go two people, be ready to spend between 40-50euros. Food visually looked good as you see on the photos. Staff was nice and bilingual.

This place is cute and cozy... The food was not made to order, our salad was soggy, the shakshuka was kinda cold and came out in 2 mins after ordering. Was given a small amount for a glass order of wine and the mojito had an over powering aroma which did not make for a great taste. Had to ask 4 times before we got a bottle of water.

This restaurant is really really good! If you like Israeli/Middle-Eastern food, this is the place to be. Everything on the menu is delicious and you can easily share it with your friends/family. The service is great as well. The staff is always quick to help you and give you the best experience they can! Can reccomend this place to everyone!

Whenever we are somewhere we try to find an Israeli restaurant because we love the food so much. This was one of the best places we’ve been to. Not only was the food excellent, but the staff was super friendly and welcoming. We will definitely come back!!

I was very excited to try this restaurant. We went with my coworkers and food was tasty but service was less than ideal. One of my coworkers wanted to have the tasting menu and he ordered it. 10 minutes later the waiter comes back and says he cannot have it as everyone in the table needs to have the experience. Makes sense but shouldn’t needed to wait 10 minutes to get that information. Everyone started getting their food and my plate ( a classic shakshuka) took forever to arrive. No explanation no apology, nothing. They brought it when everyone was almost finished. Kinda ruined the experience and leaves a bad flavor.

A great restaurant with Jewish cuisine. It's fun to watch the very friendly and funny cook prepare the food. Food very good, drinks ... well, you shouldn't serve Aperol Spritz with crushed ice. It makes the drink watery too fast. But all in all very good.

Meaning - Joy - Talent If you strike those three when you do something, you're on the right way to be happier and make others around you happier. Tantura is one of those places that sends you away to a different country and a different culture and in the same time creates it's own unique place. Yes the food is "Israeli", but you will find an extra personal touch in every dish you'll taste here. I can write about the different courses we took, but, it doesn't matter - I guarantee you - every bite you'll take here and every sipp you'll have are going to be delicious and special. So... Just do it! Book yourself a table and be prepared for a journey you'll remember and cherish.

Yum yum yum! One of our most memorable dinners from our visit to Portugal! Every single dish (and we ordered a lot) was outstanding! Great for vegetarians with lots of options too! Would love to come back. Highly recommend!!

The BEST restaurant we went to in Lisbon I would recommend to anyone visiting the city not to leave without trying Tantura. Our favourite dish was the hummus with meatballs and the hummus stew. The chicken schnitzel was amazing (crispy chicken coated in sesame and tomato). The fresh bread is great too. Slightly disappointed in the shakshouka since the eggs were a bit over cooked and it was not too flavoursome but this could have been an off day. Service is very good, staff are attentive and smiley. it was quite easy for us to book on a Thursday evening. The atmosphere is super chill and homey- we got lucky to be seated next to the kitchen and could see all them prepping our dishes before bringing them out.

We couldn’t get into this restaurant due to the large flow of visitors for many days, in the end we were able to book a table, the wait was worth it! We ordered the tasting menu of different dishes from the menu and it was an amazing experience! Their bread, hummus, falafel, everything was just perfect! The staff was friendly too.

Our family had a great experience at Tantura. Make a reservation! Our family is vegan and there were great options. I highly recommend their homemade lemonade with date syrup! We loved mixing the mushroom hummus and tabouleh into pita. Staff were great as well and in a good location, easy to find. My husband enjoyed his local beer.

Amazing restaurant. We think it’s the best middle eastern food in Lisbon (after trying most of them..)! Top quality food, everything is fresh and hand made- even the bread! Many vegan and vegetarian options. Wonderful service, very attentive. Awesome vibes :-) 10/10 would definitely come again!

I absolutely loved the food, the staff and the space! The service was super fast and the employee who took my order super friendly - a Nepalese guy in Portugal for 4 years now, speaking a perfect portuguese. I was impressed! I am definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu!

Great service, great food and very good value. Very decent middle East food, with varied food but not too much choice (better do a few dishes well!). Our favourite was the special chicken with rice and the falafel. Missed having some type of babaganoush or similar.

Loved the vibe here (not a place for quiet conversation). The staff were skilled, friendly and relaxed even though it was clearly super busy. We had no reservation but got lucky with only a short wait (less than 15 mins). My watermelon sour (vegan was the default, not the afterthought) was a delight and came garnished with dehydrated lime and a sprinkle of herbs. Menu includes a dizzying selection of veg dishes, each its own explosion of flavour. The smoked cauli was my fave. If anything, the flavours were a little on the strong side but still gets 5 stars from me overall.

My friend told me about this place, and I wish I had come here earlier because the food is amazing! We decided to book a table in advance on a Saturday night, it was crowded, but in a good way! The atmosphere was just perfect. And don't even get me started on the food – it was absolutely delicious! Oh, and I can't forget to mention the drinks, they were fantastic too. If you ever find yourself in Lisbon, I highly recommend checking out this place. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! 😋

Easily some of the nicest food we had in Lisbon. The falafels were the best I’ve ever eaten, and the mushroom hummus was up there as well. We went back the next day to order an original and a smoked cauliflower pita. 🥙 Lots if vegan options 🌱

The food was fine but I’ve tasted better Israeli food than that. We came twice on the first time we made reservations we got a mail and apparently we needed to get two emails to confirm so we came and they didn’t let us in they’ve said that it’s a common mistake and that it happens a lot but they don’t fix it. On the second time they approved our reservation and we sat there but the food was fine but not really great and they forgot to bring us one of the dishes and only brought it after we finished the entire meal

Mediterranean restaurant with a warm and cozy atmosphere in Barrio Alto. Falafel, salad, chicken (schnitzel), French fries, Hummus, Thine and more. Everything is delicious and especially the falafel which is well made. The place is full in the evenings so it is recommended to book a place in advance on the website. The owners assimilate a warm and pleasant atmosphere in the staff. There is room for improvement in guest service

OMG!! Where do we begin. We were here 3 years ago and enjoyed the food then. The food has gotten much more better over 3 yrs, it is truely an institution and great authentic middle eastern food with great flavours. When you eat here, it reminds you of home. Make reservations if you don’t want to wait, a hidden gem in Lisbon. Thank you for another great meal

Wow! Our experience at Tantura was amazing. We were lucky to get a spot at the at the bar which we would highly recommend. We had the tasting menu and everything was good. Beware though, it was a LOT of food! Cocktails were delicious too. Highly recommend!

Food was amazing and staff too! I liked how things were served and the interior was pleasant as well. The only flaw was that we booked for 11.30 so when we came the place was still closed as they open at 12. It's strange that their booking system allows to book for hours out of the opening hours.

This is much more than just going out for eating. What makes this place rare in it's whole! It's not just because of the fresh food, early prepared and the reputation, or even the location, but the intention that is inherent behind this place, and the persons sharing it. So it is that where is love and intention behind there's an experience. Thank You. סבבה

I love Tantura but what’s stopping me from giving a 5 star is that they don’t toast their pitas and the pita is to thick. If they change these two things it’s a 5 star and will take the restaurant to the next level. The food is delicious, service is good and cute restaurant set up. I would love to speak with the owner and give some pointers. But I recommend eating here and will come back but not excited for the pita.

Scrumptious stuff. Can’t wait to go back and work my way through the rest of the menu. Cool, laid-back vibe, attention to detail throughout and most importantly;well thought out recipes. Everything looks to be made in house and it’s priced very affordably. I will keep Tantura in my back pocket as a go-to restaurant for when I’m struggling to pick somewhere in Barrio Alto. You can’t go wrong. Veggie friendly! 🥦 🍅

It's not easy to find a good israeli restaurant outside Israel, however this is not the case for Tantura. The hummus has an original taste and the dishes are typical israeli. The design of the place doesn't remind anything of Israel however the playlist has usually the best of the Israeli music. Tantura has a great staff that would go far and beyond to satisfy the client. The place is small, cozy and pleasnt.
