    * Added English language menu photos. We asked a local for a Francesinha recommendation and they directed us here. Great Francesinha (get the Francesinha Portuense for original, like you’d get in Porto). I recommend getting the fries on the side. Sandwich was delicious and the fries were crispy. I can’t say if this is the best Francesinha in Lisbon because this was the only one I had. It was damn good. Good beer, too. I recommend Marcos.

Excellent Francesinha and Burgers. The atmosphere was also great, with very pleasant waiters. You have to visit this place when in Lisbon.

A bit of history first then about our experience with the restaurant:-) Francesinha is a Portuguese sandwich named by Daniel da Silva in the early 50s. Silva, a Portuguese emigrant to France worked as a cook for a restaurant called A Regaleira in Porto after he returned to his country. Here he began to serve his interpretation of Croque Monsieur. It got very popular & spread across Portugal. This is only one of the theories though^^ The sandwich is made with bread, wet-cured ham, linguiça, fresh sausage such as chipolata, steak or roast meat and covered with melted cheese & a hot, thick spiced tomato-beer sauce. And served with french fries. We had it first in here and loved it! It’s a huge meal so not exactly breakfast but more like a lunch or dinner. The french fries were also very tasty. I almost finished the whole plate. A cold beer goes perfectly well with francesinha.

We have enjoyed the excellent Francesinha. Have a dozen of Francesinha variations are offered to open the horizon for this Portuguese speciality. The quality beers round up the positive picture. Even there are a lot of guests inside and outside we had not to wait for a long time. You can follow also sport events.

George from Portugal was amazing, great recommendations. I had the codfish with cream and my husband the pepper chicken. I was with a large group of 10 people and they were able to immediately accommodate us. Super fast and friendly service with a ton of Portuguese dishes. The sangria and beers are amazing. Came with my family. Also George from Argentina collected the bills and also provided fast and friendly service. This was a great restaurant with an amazing location. Thank you to both George’s!

One of the best places in Lisbon, really worth trying the delicious Francesinha. The food is pretty good, tasty and the prices are fair. Somehow all the food is overshadowed by the impeccable customer service. The people working here are absolutely amazing. Thank you

This place was recommended to me by a local who grew up in Lisbon. I had a great experience trying Franceshina, and green wine, here for the first time. Service is great and everything is delicious and reasonably priced. The highlight was when our waiter had us try some cheesecake that he made himself, which was delicious. I could feel his passion for restaurants in his time with us. What a lovely restaurant to visit and linger at for dinner.

I don’t know how an original francesinha should taste, but the vegetarian option was amazing! Definitely recommend! Although it wasn’t cheap, it was totally worth it!

Best "Francesinhas" in whole lisbon! Visiting very often during the last 3,5 years and never regret eating that typical portugues dish. Delicious and amazing! Give it a try. Danny

Before coming here, we'd done research online to find a restaurant with Portuguese dishes. We didn't make a reservation, but when we arrived there was enough room for us. The restaurant has an indoor and outdoor seating area, with many places. The staff was incredibly nice and they all spoke English very well. The menu had multiple vegetarian dishes. They didn't have any vegan options, but I ordered the Frade salad without tuna without any problems. The salad was lovely and really big! I especially liked the chickpeas. It was served with olive oil, salt and pepper on the side so I could season it to taste. The franceshinas that my company ordered were also very delicious. Great value for the price, as the franceshinas themselves were filling and had fries on the side as well. We spent roughly €20 on a main meal and drinks per person.

Specialized in Franceshina, the restaurant is clean and offers a friendly service. Plenty of space inside and outside. Unfortunately french fries were not homemade with the Francesinha.

Such an amazing place with amazing service despite an influx of customers. Their food was absolutely delicious and their sangria was amazing. The entire thing was super affordable for how good it was. Would not hesitate to eat here again.

Brilliant food and staff. Ordered the red dragon (spicy) francesinha and it was outstanding. Came with chips and they also dropped us down extra sauce. Great value for what you get and really good quality. Thoroughly enjoyed.
