Amaaaazing food!!! It is a must if you are in the area. The samosas are my favorite. I had one before and after our meal - such a treat. The lamb was so tender, falling off the bone. The spicy chicken has the perfect amount of spice. The shrimp was cooked to perfection in each sauce and the coconut rice complimented it just perfectly. We loved every dish we had. The staff was attentive and so kind. Can't wait to go back!

I can’t believe more people don’t come here. The food is amazing and the service is even better. Super friendly staff and very helpful. I had the lamb ribs and a samosa which were both so tasty. The samosas are addicting I could have ate those as my whole meal if I didn’t already order a plate. The hot sauce is very spicy but so good. The lamb was great and the serving size was very generous. Definitely worth coming for lunch or dinner. They have wonderful outdoor seating

My dad and I came two weeks ago and had the vegan options. The curry was really tasty and my dad enjoyed his meal. My vegan pasta was incredible. Very often vegan cheese has a horrible smell but this was just creamy and delicious! I may well have actually believed it wasn't vegan if I had my eyes closed. It was exceptional. I would very highly recommend visiting here if you are vegan and in Lisbon.

Great discovery. Tried Mozambiquen food for the first time. First time we went there it was an absolutely amazing experience, the food was perfect, and the beer is great (and i am not a beer drinker usually, but Mozambiquen and Angolan beers are really great!). Unfortunately, the second time was not so great. I ordered the seafood curry and the fish was overcooked. Even other dishes were better first time. I definitely recommend this place as it is truly a gem in Lisbon but i advice the owners and cooks to be consistent with the quality as to not disappoint returning customers.

Absolutely loved the food here!!! The N’Biji Seafood platter was my favourite! So fresh and flavourful, every bite literally had me wanting more. Definitely recommend. Sebastien was super friendly and accommodating.

Wow!!! Just wow. I came because of the recommendations and reviews, but at first I was a little underwhelmed by the place, but that is because every ounce of their effort goes into creating and developing absolutely phenomenal food with such eat and complexity of flavors that you will want to try everything!

The chamussas were amazing! So were the lamb ribs, with the meat falling off the bone. I highly recommend this hidden gem in Lisbon. Enjoy your food with a Mozambican beer while there as well, you won't be disappointed.

We stopped here for lunch during a summer sunday. The staff was very friendly and fast with both drinks and food. We ordered two of the typical shrimps and crab dishes as well as the signature cider of the house. They also have some veg options, we tried the starter one and were not disappointed. Everything was tasty enough to make us crave for more! The atmosphere of the place was enjoyable, from the colorful textiles serving as roof from the very much needed fan that gifted us with a bit of fresh air. Definitely recommended!

The food at this place is AMAZING. I was skeptical at first for the look on the outside, lots of pigeons and is a bit weird were is located. I had the vegan dish with curry, beans and rice and I’m obsessed since. All you can hear when you’re seating down is only compliments on how good the food is. There’s also a few food tours that came by this place when I was there, thats definitely a good sign.

Came here with high expectations, food was expensive compared to local spots, place is not fancy, regular chairs, tables. I ordered lamb chacuti and a bottle of water{16€ for the lamb 2€ for the water}. food came cold, lamb wasn’t tender except for 2 pieces. the big disappointment moment for me came when i asked for the check, the waiter came with credit card machine, i paid in cash 20€ bill, i was gonna leave 4€ for tips, the waiter handed me 2€ back and mentioned there’s no tips on the bill suggesting i leave the 2€ missing for tips. it felt like i was coerced to tip. i’m leaving 1 star just for this incident. it completely ruined the experience. tips shouldn’t be required from customers. i should’ve gotten my change back then decide what i will leave for tips. the waiter was an African Portuguese lady with glasses, her service was good but she screwed up for the finish. tourist trap reminded me of Istanbul restaurants not Lisbon!

Yaas, our Portuguese pal brought us here a couple of times and the food is amazing! First time we had a prawn, crab and mussel dish with rice (one portion is enough for 2 people) and it was so good, we wanted it again but they'd run out when we went the second time! So I tried the prawn and okra dish and the other half had the peanut chicken dish instead which was just as good. I really love their rose sangria too, my fave so far! A couple of the servers are not great with English (not a problem, more of a heads up what to expect) but still friendly and helpful.

beef samosa - 6.5/10. mine arrived cold, the filling wasn't very inspired. makoufe - 7/10, interesting flavour profile with the mustard(?) greens and prawn. bit salty for my taste. the prawns themselves were not as large or fresh as I've come to expect in Lisbon. bit overcooked as well. Piri chicken - 9/10, huge portion, incredibly tender. Lamb chacuti - 7.5/10, big portion, great marrow. good lamb flavour. the curry is very nutmeg(?) forward if I'm not wrong. grainy texture thanks to the powdered spice. I'm a fan.

An excellent restaurant a little off the main street. But nothing that Google maps cannot find. This restaurant offers a selection of items with African origins and Portuguese taste. We had chicken samosas. Amazing. The hot sauce was an excellent addition to it. We had the prawn curry with coconut rice. So flavorful! We also had the goat stew. It didnt like much but so good. Meat was very tender. Everything was just amazing

I've been to this place about three times and always forget to take pics of my dishes as I always take my guests there to eat. There are days when they have live music. I like where the restaurant is located as you get a real authentic Lisbon experience, with the tables placed in an alleyway near local residential buildings. My favorite dish there is the Goat Chacuti with this yummy dark coconut sauce, served with coconut rice. My friends have tried their other dishes, which never disappoint. Their dishes are filled with flavor, yet with a "home cooked twist". I definitely recommend Cantinho do Aziz. As long as I'm living in Lisbon, I'll continue to come and eat there.

What an amazing experience! When I learned that it is an Indian/Mozambican fusion restaurant I was expecting it to be delicious. I can say it is even better than I expected! Thanks to our waiter Radha for the great suggestions and good work!

I ate goat for the first time and it was delicious. If you have ever said that some meat is delicate, you must try goat because I have never eaten such delicate meat before and you will say that you have never eaten something so melting in your mouth before. The same can be said about shrimps, I have never eaten such well prepared shrimps before

So I did some research before going to Lisbon Portugal and I heard about this restaurant (Cantinho do Aziz) and let's just say in one word. WOW! The food is truly amazing. We started of with a couple of beef and chicken Chamussas (Samosa). It came to the table super hot and crispy and that chillie sauce it came with was so good we ended up putting it on everything. It was spicy but not kick in you mouth spicy. We then had the Curry Prawns (deshelled) with rice and it was great. We also ordered the Piri Piri Lamb Bakra and the lamb was so well cooked, it was falling off the bone and juicy. We had the Piri Piri Grilled Chicken and it puts Nandos to shame. We also had the Makoufe. It's a prawn and crab dish cooked in a local Cabbage with peanuts and coconut sauce. It was creamy and had a great flavor of crabs. We ended the meal with 4 more Chamussa as we could not help ourselves. The atmosphere and service was top notch. The one thing is it is a little out of the way as it is in this very nice alleyway. There is outdoor seating and the indoor was good also. If you are every in this area (Alfama). You definitely need to come here.

This was next to where we stayed and decided to try it. Had the lamb and rice (bakra piripiri) as recommended - simple but tasty dish! Staff were friendly and happy! Pretty neat vibe too with outdoor seating. Seemed to be very popular amongst tour groups (3 groups came and went while we were there) so must be doing something right!

If you are looking for good halal food options in Lisbon, this is the place. The curries and stews are amazing. Mozambique portugese recipes that are all very addictive. The banana chips are like those they sell in Kerela and the bebinka are similar to Malaysian kueh but still so good

Amazing experience, walking distance from city centre. Location wonderful and offers authentic street views of Lisbon. Coming from Africa, it was nice to experience some familiar tastes, even if it is a continent away. Unfortunately we were 10 minutes late for their happy hour

What interesting and tasty food! Definitely gives a kick and difference to the regular Portuguese food we've been having in the past week! Thanks to Radha for her friendly service :)

We visited this restaurant on the recommendation of a local tour guide, and it didn't disappoint. We were able to sit at a shady outdoor table and could hear the birds tweeting busily above our heads while we waited for our starters. The fried bananas were fabulous. The servings were very generous for our main courses and had flavours combining African and European influences. I will say that chips (fries) were not their strong point, but meat and vegetables were great, and the rice was good. In fact there was so much to eat that 2 of us could not finish their main course, and we had no room for dessert, so sadly I am unable to comment on the Goan cake - this time at least.

The group I was with enjoyed sitting inside the restaurant. There is outdoor seating for those that like sitting outside. Food was delicious! Definitely a hidden gem!

Came here for lunch & easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Lisbon so far. Enjoyed the prawn curry with some wine in their outdoor area.

Great experience. It was my first time tasing authentic Mozambican food. The place is busy and many people tend to go there. I read several reviews on the service but at the end this is not a fine dining experience and delays should be expected. It has a feeling of a home restaurant and there is a story behind the restaurant. It is is there on the walls for those who are curious to know more. Recommended.

My family and I have been in Portugal for 4 days now and this has to be the best food we’ve had!! The lamb ribs were absolutely AMAZING. Our server, Marufu (hope i spelt it correctly) was great and very attentive. We went during happy hour had their amazing sangria pitchers for very cheap. Highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious prawn curry and lamb here. The friend plantains and dipping sauce were a great appetizer to start with. Must visit restaurant in Lisbon and the staff provide good food recommendations if asked. The outdoor seating was nice to be able to watch people walking by. Cash or card accepted and no reservation needed.

Great find, African food in Portugal. Hidden in a side street on the hill below the castle. I had the lamb chacuti, chamussa and the spouse eat roasted chicken both were very good. Server was great. Nice change of pace.

My friend was recommended this restaurant and did not disappoint. The portions was quite big! Day 1 - we had piri piri chicken, with chips and rice. The chicken wasn’t too spicy and was a tad dry, but the chilli sauce went well with the meal. I returned on my own, ordering plantain, the lamb shank with coconut rice - all v tasty. Eyes bigger than my belly as this was a huge amount and I ended having most of it as a takeaway :)
