It was one of the best Asian restaurants I've ever been too. The atmosphere was fantastic and the staff were super friendly and ready to help. The food was also great. The deserts I didn't like much as it had a strange taste, but it's me nothing bad about the food. However I loved the main food which was the Malaysian Currys. Highly recommended. They have traditionally food of many Asian countries so you can explore different tastes!

Absolutely loved the Vietnamese restaurant! The creme brulee dessert is a must-try—perfectly caramelized. The curry dishes are flavorful, and the service is top-notch. The ambience adds a fantastic touch to the overall experience.

Food comes in high quality: fresh, tasty & without long waiting time. Price was around 60€ which I think is fair for 2 starters, 2 main dishes, a soft drink & a cocktail. Service is friendly & professional. The restaurant has a nice interior design and is located in a calm district. Important: no reservations possible, first come first served principle. Therefore, come close to their opening times, otherwise consider waiting time.

A very lively and charming place, the entire atmosphere and ambience is just splendid! Obviously, you gotta wait to enter, but I find it worth it. The star of the order was Vegetarian bao (bun) with aubergine, 10/10, would eat again.

This is a great spot if you're looking for something Asian to eat, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The menu is large and translated so plenty to choose from, the drink menu is also large and unique. The buns were delicious and the Sesame balls for dessert were great. Great place for kids, plenty of seating as well

If you see the amount of positive reviews, you probably don't need much more convincing that you should come here. Let me try anyway. The Pad Thai was really delicious and indistinguishable to any I had in Thailand. The Malaysian Curry was super rich and flavourful as well. The Pinky Promise Cocktail was really amazing. Service and atmosphere were excellent as well. So have fun and you're welcome.

So good we ate there twice in our 5-day trip to Lisbon. Dim sum assortment a great starter for 2. Between us we had 3 or 4 bao buns at each visit, and this was a good portion. Seabass was our favourite but pork belly also very good. We also had pudding the first time - they are different and interesting so worth trying but we went for more bao the second time! Tried many cocktails and they were all great! Very refreshing - Pandan Mule somehow managed to have a taste of fresh ginger, more so than other ginger beer cocktails I've had, it is very good. We did not queue at all but visited in March and within 30 minutes of opening both times. Some reviews mention slow service - did not experience this (aside from getting a little slower as it got busier, which you'd expect) and staff were all very friendly, but as I said we made sure to visit early to avoid waiting.

Exploring a break from Portuguese cuisine, we ventured into Boa Bao for Asian flavors. We arrived at noon and it wasn't too busy, greeted warmly by the server and promptly seated. A waiter graciously provided a brief history of the restaurant, guided us through the menu, and offered insightful recommendations. Opting for the wagyu pho, sea beam bun, summer roll, and shrimp fried rice, each dish surpassed expectations, with the pho standing out as particularly delightful. The restaurant included tip options on the bill, it may feel like being force to give tips but I do think the waiter deserved every bit of it. While we didn't explore other Asian eateries in Lisbon for comparison, based on our positive experience, I would recommend Boa Bao for those seeking a flavorful departure from Portuguese fare.

Very nice location. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is good with some real Asian vibes in an old building. The food was delicious and the drinks were especially good. Great location to eat at at a higher price point, though 5,50€ for a bottle of sparkling water strikes me as a little wild.

Most importantly, check the prices on my menu pictures! I don't understand why people say it's €€€. It's a clear €€ In Lisbon you can get Baos and Pho for 3-4€/ 10-11€ (cheapest near Martim Moniz). Here, the Baos cost about 6€ and the Pho about 15€. This is not expensive in any dimension. Even considering the exceptional quality of the ingredients, the detailed and well-chosen spices and the beautiful and tasty decoration of the dishes. That said, let's get to the most important part. Obviously, the food is delicious and the drinks are crazy good. At BaoBao, they understand to design great food and drinks.

But delicious foodstuff is only one part of a great experience. One thing that made me write this review touched my heart in a way I've never seen before.
Next to our table sat a mother with her young son. The boy didn't like his fried rice but didn't complain either.
When the waiter came to pick up the dishes, she asked the boy, "Oh, didn't you like the fried rice?" The boy then said, "I was expecting a different kind of rice, I didn't like it"
Now came the surprising statement that I have never seen before in a restaurant.
“Shall I bring you some spring rolls, we don't want you to go hungry," the waiter offered.
You should have seen the boy's eyes light up.

This is real service and should be told!

We had great dinner here and It worth it. Pad thai is good. Also I ordered Gua Boa. It was tasty but for one piece it was extremely expensive. All ingredients were fresh and tasty. Service is quick but waiting is the worst thing. We waited for 1 hour to be seated. Better to make reservations before coming here. Prices is higher than other asian restaurants.

We ate here one of our first nights in Lisbon. Most people don’t think to eat Asian while in Europe but there are many amazing restaurants and communities that support them. This spot did not disappoint, it has a very “hip & cool” vibe to it with both indoor & outdoor spots to eat. We got there shortly after they opened for dinner but the time we were done eating there a line to get in. We will go back again if ever back in Lisbon.

An incredible experience! The food was delicious. It exceeded my expectations. An Asian restaurant well located in Lisbon. The service is also very good. I truly recommend it from now on! (It is not cheap, but it is worthy)

Really delicious pho and bao buns in a beautifully decorated lively setting. Be aware that they do not take reservations and that you may have to wait in line a bit, especially on weekends. I would say that it is worth the wait though, as the food is really delicious and it’s a very nice evening vibe. If you just want Asian food though, there are other less expensive options in the area where you will not have to wait.

One of the coolest Asian restaurants I’ve been to in Portugal. Loved their lychee cocktail, well balanced and let me tell you, you can’t just have one. The shrimp toast was great but slightly dry, I like shrimp toasts a lot and I order them every time I visit Europe. Spring rolls were good I could really taste the difference from other spring rolls served else where. The green curry was good but I tasted the coconut milk more than the lemongrass, basil and spices. I would definitely visit again when I come back to Lisbon.

We had dinner at Boa-Bao last night. We had not booked, but we were seated immediately. The food was overall really good. We had the calamari for starters, which were so crispy and delicious. Then we got 1 bun each: a pork belly one and a crispy chicken one. I preferred the crispy chicken because the other bun was a bit too spicy for me. The price is a bit high for what you get, but the food is good.

Wow wow wow! Stop looking for a place to eat and go here. Seriously. First of all, we went on a full tour of the menu from cocktails and beer to buns, satay, fried spring rolls, curries, pho, noodles, kimchi, creme brûlée, sesame buns, Vietnamese coffee dessert, flan type thing… it was all delicious! On top of the spectacular drinks and food, the environment is a feast for the eyes. Everywhere you look there is something interesting to take in. And the staff are all very kind and helpful. We enjoyed our time with Laura and would love to dine with her again. Thanks for the great recommendations, Laura! Note: they do not take reservations. Come close to their opening time and be prepared to wait. We had a 50 minute wait so went across the street for a drink while we waited. We will absolutely be back.

I got there a few minutes before opening and there was already a queue but once opened everyone was seated quickly, so to ensure a table go early or on time. The staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was upbeat and fun. The food was spectacular, the bao buns were soft and the fillings were flavourful, I also had dim sum which had a range of dumplings and the pad Thai was super tasty. Overall a really great dining experience.

It’s good, not the best kind of overhyped from the reviews. Too much Asian food variety, so some dishes weren’t as flavourful. Pad Thai was a little bland but the baos were really good.

Another one praising the staff ❤️, great vibe from queue to meal's end. The food presentation 🍜 is spotless, and the space all around amazing. ⚠️Edit: they are now taking reservations. Well... Perfect asian restaurant in Lisbon, please do yourself a favor when you re around and enjoy 🥰 _____________________ The only heads up would be to get there early⌚, like every other trendy place is getting harder to get a table. I would personally advise to go there either at opening or no later than 19:30, or you might have to return another day. Even in covid times they re not doing reservations, but it's worth every minute of waiting time .

Some of the best Bao I have had! The sea bass bao was outstanding, and the duck bao was also very good. The massaman curry was also very good but needed to be thicker and more hearty for my tastes to be outstanding. One of the best southeast asian restaurants in Lisbon. Service was a bit inconsistent, but overall I would go back for many sea bass bao any day of the week.

Ok so I got here kinda by accident just trying to find a good place to eat and let me tell you is 100 worth it! I didn't had reservation so I had to wait around 30 min for a table, however you can sit in the bar and drink some delicious cocktails while waiting. The sitting area is a little compact if you're sitting inside but I guess if you don't mind is fine. The food was quick and absolutely delicious, it had an amazing flavor and it was quick once we ordered. The restaurant is super cute and their menus super cool and original. So definitely worth a visit if you're visiting Lisbon.

Fantastic place for authentic Asian food. You usually have to wait for a table so it is recommended to make a reservation ahead - but it’s also worth the wait. The food is delicious, the staff is super friendly and quick and always in a good mood. Make sure to try the pineapple carpaccio as desert!

Food is tasty and presentation is superb. The restaurant looks beautiful and very asian-themed. The staff is very kind and helpful 🤍 I had the pad thai and found it a bit bland, but the rest of the food was good. If you're familiar with Asian cuisine at all I'd recommend looking elsewhere than here. Our recent visit included such delights such as paying for expensive prawns in a stir fry, only for them to be delivered to our table hard as bullets and completely devoid of what should have been delicious taste. Also pho without coriander... Odd but I suppose not unheard of. Drinks were nice. The food is basically upmarket cheap takeaway food, and is not authentic at all. They'll reply to this and say it is - but take a look at the other low reviews - it isn't. If this was cheaper it wouldn't be a problem, but it is extremely overpriced for poorly cooked faux-fusion food. The atmosphere is nice, but it's hard to get the attention of serving staff, so we couldn't even really complain.

(Translated by Google) Although the food is quite tasty and a good space (I ate several times before the pandemic in the retaurant and sometimes in take away during the pandemic), the service provided by its employees is getting worse and more and more arrogant . They call to order and the phone rings endlessly and when they answer (this is 3-4 attempts), they are arrogant in saying that the customer has to be quick to place the order, not having the right person to ask questions. We also do not understand the discrimination in relation to the dishes available in take-away and on electronic platforms, as they do not have in take-away everything that is on these platforms (which makes no sense at all) or prefer to work only with these platforms and discard the take service. away! ?? I give 3 stars, because if it were for the taste of the food, which is very good, it would give 5 stars, however, the service of your staff is 1 star, hence the 3 stars, because everything must be considered. (Translated by Google) Finally the day has come! After 4 failed attempts there we managed to go to Boa-Bao for dinner! This restaurant does not make appointments and every time we arrive at the door to ask for a table we always hear the same answer "We are waiting in line for about 1 hour". We tried it on a weekday and very early and finally got a table for dinner. And we could already say that we were going to try 4x more to have dinner at Boa-Bao again! We sat in the indoor garden, which on this hot day made for a very pleasant breeze. Since the 2 people who came with us were great “connoisseurs” of this restaurant we decided to leave the decision of the dishes in their hands: for 4 people they ordered 4 dishes to share: Malaysian curry soup with egg and seafood noodles, Thai green curry from tofu, Sweet Potato Pad Thai and Chicken Pad Thai. All dishes were simply divine! Accompanied with a good Singha beer it was an incredible meal. At the end there was still space for a pineapple carpaccio which, despite being good, is not up to the rest of the meal. We hope to be able to come here many more times! (Original) Finalmente chegou o dia!

This amazing Asian restaurant is highly recommended when visiting Lisbon. They do not take reservations, but waiting can be done inside. The yellow curry was one of my food-highlights in Lisbon! All meals are fresh and contain lots of delicious vegetables. When sitting outside and it gets windy, they even have blankets for your convenience. The Japanese mochi desert was a bit disappointing, but nevertheless a fun desert to ‘discover’. Again, this restaurant is highly recommended!

We went there twice. The first time I had the Pad Thai, which was great, very tasty and fresh! The service was already not that great. The second time the service was really bad, unfriendly and arrogant. I had the green curry which is basically just some tofu (in case of the vegetarian version) and the curry sauce - nothing special and definitely not worth the money. There are much better places in Lisbon with warm, friendly and welcoming service.
