Excellent place to visit and dine in at Lisbon. We had a great time, and the meet plates were huge and delicious. Out of the desserts, I’d order the Chocolate Tart again. There is no option or book a table in advance, but the waiting line moves fast.

If you're a meat lover then you must go to this restaurant. You will be satisfied with the price-quality of the food there. The desserts were delicious too!

It's looks like a small place when you walk by but it has a huge open area at the back. Great service and food. Everything we had was awesome quality and tasted phenomenal. I didn't have wine however, it would seem that they have a huge variety to choose from. Highly recommend.

Oh my goodness. After a week of excellent food in Lisbon, I didn’t think it could get better. Then I ate at A Carvoaria. It might be hard to believe, but I had both the best steak I have had in my life (their Wagyu steak) and the best risotto I’ve had in my life (their mushroom risotto). Everything we had was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. I skipped the starter plate selection they brought me as it felt a bit unexpected, and I’m glad I did as I wished I had even more room in me to eat more of their steak.

Went there with no reservations and they kindly arranged a table for us, we had the cheese and sausage platter for starters and for main the chuck steak 400g medium rare, it was delicious! Staff were friendly and great ambiance, I definitely recommend this place for a nice steak dinner with reasonable prices.

It's been a while since I have last seen such good service. Waiters were quick to come and to serve. They serve really good meat, although one of the pieces was a bit rarer than what I'd prefer. The desserts were out of this world. I will certainly return to this place in the future.

Great restaurant..probably best selection of meat (and good wines too). Everything was delicious and the waitress was really good providing advise and explaining the difference of cuts. A nice experience!!

If you are a dedicated carnivore, you have to dine here. Steaks are huge, order according to weight I had the rump which was lovely, with sides of creamed spinach and garlic potatoes. Big portions will satisfy the hungriest diner. Two glasses of wine, an espresso and cherry liquor. Amazing value at 33 euro. Place is lively too!

Very nice dining place with super delicious food. Except the portions are too big XD that almost no space for dessert. Must try their flan (pudding) as the perfect ending.

A perfect date night. Delicious steaks, cooked to perfection with a great variety of accompanying dishes. Helpful and friendly servers who were compassionate to American guests who don’t speak the language. Dessert was so good as well. Best of all, felt like fine dining without being priced as such. Great meal including a drink, appetizers, and dessert for 2 for like 70 euro

Great restaurant with excellent meats. The waiters are very helpful explaining to us the different cuts and plates. We ordered the shrimp and garlic sauce for appetizer. My husband had the sirloin stake steak and I had the veal and pork skewer. They were delicious! Congratulations to the chef!

This has become a total tourist trap, if that’s what you want. I have been going here off and on for decades and it has become beautiful and more touristy as the years go by. The meat was never particularly good in my opinion. Always tough no matter what cut you order but I always went because friends wanted to go. I went tonight and ordered the beef loin to make sure it would be good and tender. It wasn’t loin and wasn’t tender. The salad is good and fries are fine as well as the house wine but the meat is not. And it’s a steakhouse! Last time I’ll go no matter who invites me. Too many other good places in Lisbon.

I recently dined at Carvoaria Jacto and had the pleasure of enjoying their fillet steak. It was truly an exquisite culinary experience. The fillet steak at Carvoaria Jacto was cooked to perfection, tender, and incredibly flavorful. The quality of the meat was evident, and it melted in my mouth. The seasoning was just right, enhancing the natural taste of the steak without overpowering it. Excellent food. Great service. Polite staff. Very helpful with selecting the food that we wanted. The friendly waiter got us a table without pre-reservation.

Great steak and nice ambient, however I didn't expect a nice place like that do the classic Lisbon trick to push to you table a lot of not requested "starters" as soon as you seat, obviously all paid. Just say you don't want and they remove it.

So I think if we had ordered differently this could have been a 5, but I have to give a 3 because there were quite a few sub-par dishes. First, the highlight was the veal rib steak (see photo) for ~20 Euro. HUGE steak and their medium rare was like proper medium rare and not medium haha. Seasoned beautifully and simply and just truly delicious. Huge portion for the price as well. The middle of the pack was the House special fillet with sauce and fries. Sauce and fillet were good, but the fries were not good at all. Lacking salt and zero crisp to them. We also had the bbq rabbit which was okay, but I wouldn't order it again. At the bottom of my list was a side order of mushroom risotto which was honestly so awful we couldn't even eat it. It was sour tasting and so gummy in texture. Overall, this cost around 60 Euro, which was not a bad price considering how many dishes we ordered and how much food we got. In conclusion, my advice to anyone coming here would be to please just order STEAK (BEEF OR VEAL), and maybe get some bread on the side. If I had done that, it would have been AMAZING. One last thing... for other people from Canada (or US) please keep in mind that the custom is to serve up a bunch of extras. They leave the bread and things at the table, and bring the appetizers to your table before you have a chance to look at the menu and think about your choices. And none of it is free. So just be firm and tell them to let you take your time and to feel okay telling them no if you don't really want something.

Over all 5-star experience the food and the service. We ordered the house special and sirloin steak both were perfect and when ordering the wine the staff took us inside to review the various bottles and recommended the best we had so far in Lisbon! Definitely worth a visit!
