Put this tour on your must do when visiting Lisbon. I spent the most wonderful afternoon with Ruthy and Francisco (guides) and a fantastic group of curious foodies from around the world. This tour went above and beyond my expectations. You can see how much care has been taken selecting the family owned restaurants as well as the food and drinks paring. I loved hearing the story behind every dish. I think it's so important to know where your food comes from and it was lovely to do a tour with the same ethos. Ruthy and Francisco are the perfect hosts. Lively, engaging, knowledgeable and fun. They also made sure the whole group was comfortable. They say come hungry and they didn't lie! Prepare to be filled with the best food and drinks Lisbon have to offer. Thanks so much for a wonderful afternoon. It's one I won't forget.

FABULOUS!!!! We booked through Airbnb and Ruthy was amazing! She truly makes the tour special. The food we sampled was a great variety of what you’d want when visiting Lisbon! We really loved that she visits only family owned restaurants in order to keep it local.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour - Our guide was fantastic and the group of people we met were loads of fun. Each food destination we went to seemed to get better and better. This is an absolute must and can highly recommend Treasures of Lisboa for a fantastic cultural and historical experience.

What an absolutely fantastic and perfect introduction to Lisbon. Discovering a city through it food, by walking through one of its oldest neighborhoods, with great guides telling us about the history of the city and the importance of the various foods we taste - how can it get any better? Well, Marcio graciously took our group of 4 through the entire adventure in French while the rest of the group was getting the English version by Francisco. Attention to detail and personalized service is what you get on this wonderful food tour. I cannot recommend enough!

If I could give it 100 stars I would, We can not recommend this experience enough!!! From the moment we reserved the spots to the tour itself everything was amazing. Francisco who lead the tour made us feel at home right from the beginning, our group was 10 people, we bonded immediately thanks to Francisco’s ability to ask some questions about our selfs at the beginning and from that point an on we just allowed our selfs to immerse on his city and his knowledge of food and wines. Visited 4 different local restaurants where we had more than two dishes that were paired with the perfect wine. On the last restaurant we had so much food and diferente kind of wines. Please do your self a favor a book this experience you will end up walking the city exploring little streets , having fun laughing with friends eating good food drinking amazing wine and saying hi to locals along the way . Thanks again for a wonderful afternoon Francisco. Gloria, Fernando

Francisco was an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable and passionate about the food, Lisbon, and his country. We even ran into him a couple times after the tour and he was nice enough to help us find our way. The food was great, highly recommend this tour.

This food tour was really top notch! I consider myself a bit of an amateur foodie and have made a priority of trying to partake in a food tour in whatever country/city I'm in around the world, and this one goes at the top of my list. Our guide, Francisco, was so welcoming and knowledgeable and knew the balance of providing us culture and history and allowing us to mingle and explore the foods and comradery. He made it a point to get to know everyone on the tour, while providing helpful information to each. What made this tour a bit different from others is that we went to less restaurants and tasted a couple of dishes at the 4-5 instead of going to 7-8 restaurants. Of course there was some walking and exploring the city, but if you're in Portugal, you can expect that with anything you do. I'd highly recommend and thank you for the wonderful start to our trip!

This was the BEST experience we had in Lisbon by far!! Francisco was our tour guide and his energy is absolutely electric! He did an amazing job at incorporating Portuguese history, humor, and fostering good conversation among the group. I will never forget this experience!! The food and drink tastings were incredible! We 10/10 recommend this tour and would do it all over again if we could!

Ruthie was amazing and the food tour was a hit! We loved all the places Ruthie took us to. It was a personal, intimate and enjoyable evening. She even provided some excellent recommendations for our trip to Porto. Highly recommend doing this tour. You will learn about the wonderful people, food and culture of the Portuguese.

Great tour. I highly recommend. Francisco was fabulous. He is full of information and enthusiasm. He is likable and a good communicator. We had a particularly fun and interested group. Francisco welcomed all our questions and comments. His excitement about everything we ate and saw was contagious. He is a good storyteller. I loved that this tour (unlike, as I understand it, any other) frequents only the local family-owned restaurants in Alfama. I had a sense we had food that was made with love and was both typical and the best available version of each dish. There was plenty of food and drink that was well paced so no one was drunk or overfull. I would go back to any of the stops for a future meal. The walking was modest and mostly downhill - very doable even for my husband who is not a big walker. I recommend this tour without reservation.

Francisco was an amazing tour guide! We were referred by a close friend to do this food tour. The overall group was great, the tour was a perfect mix of getting to see a little bit of everything around the oldest part of the city + support local businesses. All of the establishments that we went to served delicious food and the information was the perfect level of detail. Bathrooms available throughout, food and conversation a great balance, and easy to do as a couple as well as bringing parents. 10/10 would recommend!

Brilliant. Our guide (Chloe) was fun, friendly and knowledgeable. It provided a generous amount of food and drinks from a great selection of restaurants (be prepared to have necked 4 glasses of wine by 1pm). A good way to see a nice bit of the city. I was trying to pick a highlight, but all the food was top notch. A must if you're visiting Lisbon for the first time.

We loved the Alfama neighborhood restaurant crawl. It’s a great way to taste Portuguese food. The tour was in English, but our guide Ruthy, a French speaker, invited questions in French. She has a contagious enthusiasm for the food and restaurants she visits and ensures that all participants have a great experience.

The best thing I have experienced on my trip so far. Francisco was super nice and funny. He took us to small, hidden restaurants that you wouldn't even discover as a tourist. The food was really amazing! I really felt completely comfortable and can totally recommend this tour.

Amazing food tour! Francisco was our tour guide and he was full of knowledge, experience and passion for the food he helped us experience. There was ALOT of great tastings, and I cannot say I regret any of them. It was all delicious and so much fun to experience as a group.

We loved our experience on this food tour! Francisco and Mathilda were so friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about every stop we made. Mathilda went out of her way to answer all our questions and make sure everyone in the group was enjoying themselves. The length of the tour was perfect as well; it’s best not to rush food tours and this one had a great pace and range of stops and options. Highly recommend!

A great way to sample the local fare! Guides Matilde and Francisco were personable and knowledgeable. Each restaurant on the tour provided something unique including many homemade ingredients that make their food extra special. You can tell they are passionate about their work!

Had an excellent afternoon on the food tour, Ruthy was a great host, we had the most amazing local foods from family run hidden gems within Alfama. I would highly recommend going during your stay in Lisbon.

My family and I had a wonderful time on the Treasures of Lisboa Food Tour! Our guide Francisco was personable and a lot of fun. We loved all the family owned restaurants on the tour. I would recommend this tour in a heartbeat! Thank you!

Ruthy’s tour was one of the biggest highlights of our time in Lisbon! We didn’t have many days in town, so we loved getting to try so many local specialties in one half-day experience. Learning about the history and culture through her storytelling was wonderful as well. She was so friendly and warm and illustrated the tour with pictures of the wine regions, fishing processes etc that made the food come to life. We got her recommendations for sights & restaurants in the area as well as in Porto and those places turned out to be some of the best memories of our trip. I most appreciated that the places she took us on the tour were all cozy and locally owned, off the beaten path and definitely places we’d never have found on our own. Can’t recommend this tour enough :)

Our experience with Treasures of Lisboa food tours was quite honestly the highlight of our entire trip to Lisbon. The guide was so knowledgeable and the food was amazing. We tried so many new things that we probably would have never tried - I highly recommend this tour, you won’t regret it!

We had the BEST time on our walking tour. We had high hopes due to the many positive reviews, but it surpassed our expectations. The tour of Alfama was really informative and pretty. The amount of food and drink was very generous given the price. We loved the element that all the venues are run by local families. I don't eat meat and I was well accommodated for. We also got great tips for the rest of our time in Lisbon.

Book early for this very popular tour of the Alfama neighborhood in Lisbon. Our guide welcomed us warmly and made sure she got to know each of us and that we got to know each other. The tour visits restaurants owned and run by local families some of whom produce the products they use in there restaurants.

This was by far one of our favorite parts of our trip! We were lucky enough to have Francisco as our tour guide and he was super energetic, funny, informative and had loads of suggestions on best places to go to after the tour in Lisbon! He made sure everyone felt comfortable and interacted with all of us. The restaurants we went to were all local, family-owned which I loved. The food was delicious and there’s plenty of wine to go around for all of the meals! The menu + restaurants were craft-fully picked and we were very impressed. Highly, highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Lisbon! Thanks Francisco!

My sister and I booked a tour prior to arrival. What a great investment! Our tour guide was Francisco and he was awesome! He was charismatic, knowledgeable and did a great tour! We had some excellent food! Our group was only 7 people and when we finished we had all made new friends! This company focuses on family owned establishments and we really appreciated that! There is a lot of walking and steps as well as steep inclines, so keep this in mind when booking! We highly recommend this tour!

This was SOOO worth the money! Ruthie was absolutely wonderful! We would not have found any of these restaurants or had the opportunity to try some of these amazing dishes. We traveled during Covid and I felt completely safe with all the precautions she took. All the restaurants we went to were truly delightful and you could tell were unique family owned establishments! Come hungry, bring a water bottle, wear comfortable shoes (lots of walking but she plans it so you are going downhill), and you will have a wonderful time!

You can tell Ruthy and her husband love doing the tours. All the places we went were delicious, some unexpected dishes and tastes and you can really have a glimpse of the tastes of the Portugal cuisine. Lovely little places, with history, good food and good wine. The way between places were packed with history and stories about Lisbon, it's people and culture. Alfama by itself already has this cozy and authentic feeling but with Ruthy tour it became somewhat whimsical.

This experience was amazing! It was me and my husband’s first time doing a food tour, and it has convinced us that we need to be doing more food tours. Ruthy was amazing at explaining about dishes and Portuguese history. Book this food tour now!!

Such a lovely way to become acquainted with the rich history, food, and goings-on in the Alfama. Ruthy was so attentive and went out of her way to make a large group feel very intimate and known. Highly recommend this tour—the food was a lovely cross section of Lisboa favorites!

We loved the food tour and it was the highlight of our trip to Lisbon. Ruthy and Marcio were a very enthusiastic and passionate about showcasing local businesses while promoting the fantastic array of Portuguese produce. Definitely recommending this experience when you are here!

Loved the food tour my wife and I went on in Lisbon on 19th March. Great food, interesting commentary, fantastic local establishments and a superb host. Loved it and would recommend without a second of doubt

This was by far the highlight of our entire trip to Lisbon. We loved the mix of history, food, local legend, wine and architecture all expertly led by Ruthy. She had an amazing skill of making sure everyone was looked out for and felt connected and then let the group sit and chat as well (we were lucky with some really cool couples from around the world). So a great option for solo travelers as well as groups. The walking is really minimal and very easily paced. I have food allergies and she made sure to have a substitute dish for everything I couldn't eat (I think I lucked out with so many extra goodies). The food itself was delicious and so much! Easily multiple meals and better wine than I had on a wine tasting tour the day before. I hope they will be able to ship their food baskets to the US as I'm missing it already!

We had booked this tour before coming but were also happy to see it was recommended by another tour guide we had in Porto for when we got here. This tour was a perfect way to try all the foods you should try here in Lisbon while also learning the culture. We loved trying all of the different foods and the drinks were great. Francisco and Ruthy were great guides and were so helpful in providing recommendations and the tour was put together really well.

Truly a wonderful way to spend an afternoon in Lisbon and to eat the dishes that a local would. Francisco was a fantastic guide, he is very knowledgeable and passionate in explaining the backstory of the dishes and drinks served and also of the restaurants we visited. Amble time is spent in each location; time flew by yet not once did we feel rushed!

The 'Treasures of Lisboa' food tour with exuberant Ruthie & Marcio is a magical and delicious experience for adults visiting Lisboa. These wonderful and knowledgeable hosts have thought of every detail to delight, educate, and feed visitors new to the Portuguese culture. The four hour tour takes guests through a labyrinth of ancient alleyways that are filled with charming shops, lovely family-owned restaurants, and stunning architecture. The pace is perfect with a variety of mini-meals and drink along the way. The small guest group has the opportunity to try native dishes and local wines and to learn about the history of the recipes. You will be full and happy when the good-byes are said. We highly recommend this 'Perfect Meal' tour.

We had such an awesome time on this food tour! We booked it for our first full day in Lisbon, which was a great way to learn about the city from a local. Alfama ended up being our favorite neighborhood in Lisbon—it has so much character and soul. Ruthy and Heloise taught us interesting information about the history, cuisine, and traditions. Everything we tried was distinct and memorable, and we appreciated that they didn’t skimp on the drink pairings (plenty of wonderful wine). We also love that the businesses we visited were family-owned and the commitment to zero plastic waste on the tour. We recommend this food tour if you love history, culture, stepping off the beaten tourist path, and eating amazing local food with friendly, knowledgeable guides!

A delicious introduction to Portuguese food and drink in authentic atmospheres. Not too much walking and very well-planned from restaurant to restaurant. Francisco and Marcio were very thoughtful and funny hosts. Above all, you can tell how much they love food, culture, and the Lisbon community. It was so nice to just show up and have everything taken care of! I would go again if I could!

Had a fantastic time exploring the city and trying various foods around the city center. Joao was an incredible guide and was able to give us loads of information on the history of the city and the food we were trying. He also had fantastic recommendations for us to try during our stay here. Definitely recommend!

What a fun and DELICIOUS way to explore Alfama in Lisbon! The food was great and the drinks were too. Everyone was so personable on the tour. Eloisa was so nice and charming. Mafalda was also great at the end of the tour. I LOVED that I thought I was going to be late to the tour and the owner called me 5 minutes after I emailed them stating I was going to be late. That's just excellent customer service. 100% recommend this tour.

We had a fantastic time on our food tour today, we ate loads of amazing food and tasted lots of great wine, beer, and liquor. Our guide Eloise was brilliant; she was very knowledgeable about the food and the area, and she was really friendly and got everyone involved. We did the early tour which was a great time to start as it was a bit cooler and the streets were less busy. I would definitely recommend this food tour, all the stops were run by locals/family businesses, and the food was very traditional.

We had the best time on this tour! The food was so delicious (as was the wine) and there was plenty of it. We learned a lot about the food in Portugal and there is obviously a lot of pride in their delicious and unique dishes. Book this - you won't be disappointed!

An absolutely wonderful experience! We visited 5 local family owned restaurants and got to try so much amazing local food. Make sure to show up hungry to this tour as there is an abundance of amazing food to try at each location! Francisco was an amazing guide with so much helpful information not only about the history of the food and drinks, but about Portugal in general. He provided lots of wonderful recommendations for our stay and was so lovely to chat with. Matilda was equally as incredible and extremely knowledgeable about the food and experience, but also about local tours and sights. She was extremely kind and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was too notch! I would recommend this tour to anyone coming to Lisbon ☺️ thank you Francisco and Matilda!
