Absolutely spectacular. Our server Cathy was spot-on with every single recommendation from wine to dessert and the food we were served was next level. The octopus surprised me because the quality of the olive oil itself was able to shine while complementing the actual dish. Every bite and sip left me satisfied and excited for the next. Please do yourself a favor and try this spot out!

Absolutely amazing food! No matter what you eat, the fish or the meat and all the little side dishes are prepared with lots of love while perfectly seasoned. The food is absolutely worth the visit, especially for dinner! We just loved all of it (recommendation: sit inside not outside)

Absolutely fantastic experience at Frade dos Mares, and Alexandre really made the difference as a waiter, he was very caring, attentive and friendly throughout our whole dinner, and gave us excellent recommendations. The food was exquisite, of tremendous quality and for a really good price for what it was worth as a tasting experience. Totally recommend, I will definitely repeat.

I made a reservations here based on reviews from Trip Advisor. The nearest metro station is about 15 minutes away, but I enjoyed my walk to and from the restaurant. There’s indoor and outdoor seating. I was seated indoors. There’s fewer than 20 tables inside, and the place was full by 9pm. The menu is available via a QR code, but don’t worry, they have free Wi-Fi. I ordered the octopus salad, a fish entree, and two desserts. I’ve only had octopus twice in my life before dining here and this was by far the best. The octopus salad was delicious! My main course was amazing as well. The fish was well cooked and deliciously seasoned. Even the sweet potatoes and veggies that accompanied it were incredible. I completely cleaned my plate. Of the two desserts that I ordered, the chocolate one with ice cream was my favorite. The service was great. It was a busy night and they were short-staffed, but I never felt that the service was inattentive. This place is a gem! I dined at a couple of Michelin star restaurants while in Lisbon, but this was the best meal that I had on my trip.

Easily one of my favorite meals in Lisbon! Highly recommend making a reservation before you go, the place is pretty small and gets packed. My girlfriend and I made a trip here for a date night. Service was great from start to finish, they even offered to split our appetizers for us to share. We ordered: - Fish soup - delicious and homey, especially on a cold night - Prawns appetizer - so good and flavorful!! The sauce was delicious, we got bread on the side to soak it all up - Grilled octopus - I see why everyone recommends this. It is cooked to perfection and one of the best dishes of the night - Duck entrée - loved this! Duck was tender and the sweet sauce paired really well - Steak entrée - typical steak, the other dishes were definitely better Total came out to around $90, which was great for the quality and portions.

What an incredible experience. In summary, the food was EXCELLENT, the service was incredible, and the feeling of the restaurant was perfect. For the food, I had the octopus for my main and the puff pastry with raspberry ice cream for dessert. The octopus was just absolutely delicious. The flavors came together beautifully. Mica was my waitress and she was just the sweetest! She recommended an excellent wine to go with the octopus and regularly checked on me to be sure I was happy without being overbearing. It's a small restaurant that feels very intimate, which I love. Everyone here was so nice. They even gave me a small chocolate with some portuguese liquor inside as I finished up my coffee. I can only highly, highly recommend this place.

Absolutely recommended! We had garlic shrimp and octopus croquettes for starters, and shrimp risotto, codfish and octopus as main. Everything was delicious and fresh, it was of the best seafood we had honestly. Also all the waiters were very nice and friendly. We didn’t have a reservation and randomly found the restaurant, but would be better to make a reservation if you consider dining here. 🤗

Excellent restaurant in Lisbon. All the dishes were very well cooked. Octopus highly recommended. Staff was very welcoming and attentive. Be sure to make a reservation in advance as the restaurant doesn't have a lot of tables. Highly recommended

I made the same day reservation for dinner at this small restaurant. Ordered the Sea Bream fillet and the Fish of the day (Sea bass). Both were good and tasty. There are only a few people dining there and the staff aren't really friendly and the service can be improved.

Wiki was amazing - he was super helpful with figuring out what wine we wanted and was very personable and attentive! We had olives, tuna ceviche, sea bream fillet with rice (x2) and octopus. The sea bream was so good that I ordered a second one while my husband had dessert. The restaurant was smaller than we expected but Wiki and the food were great!

My family and I had the pleasure of dining at Frade dos Mares in Lisbon, and I must say, it was an exceptional culinary experience. This establishment truly stands out with its remarkable selection of meats and seafood that cater to the most discerning palates. As a lover of both, I was delighted by the diverse and high-quality options available. The selection of meats at Frade dos Mares was truly impressive. From perfectly cooked steaks to tender lamb chops, every bite was a celebration of flavor and succulence. The meats were expertly prepared and paired with delightful sauces and accompaniments, enhancing their natural taste and ensuring a memorable dining experience. What truly impressed me about Frade dos Mares was their commitment to providing excellent choices for vegetarians as well. In a culinary world often dominated by meat-centric dishes, it was refreshing to see a restaurant that not only caters to traditional tastes but also embraces the needs of those seeking plant-based options. The vegetarian dishes were innovative, flavorful, and showcased the culinary creativity of the chef. I must mention the outstanding service I received from the server named Wiki. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, Wiki's warm and friendly demeanor created a welcoming atmosphere. Their extensive knowledge of the menu and ability to recommend the perfect dishes added an extra layer of enjoyment to my dining experience. Wiki's attentiveness and genuine passion for ensuring guests' satisfaction were truly commendable. Frade dos Mares offers an exceptional dining experience, with its remarkable selection of meats, outstanding vegetarian choices, and impeccable service provided by servers like Wiki. Whether you're a meat lover, a vegetarian, or simply seeking a memorable culinary adventure, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit when in Lisbon.

This place had friendly wait staff, really fresh seafood and an amazing. We got the fish of the day (sea bream with potatoes and sauteed vegetables), prawn risotto and octopus rice. The prawn and octopus were really fresh and sweet and the flavour in the risotto was amazing. The sea bream was also cooked and seasoned really well. We also had some local Lisbon chardonnay with our meal. This meal was a little pricey but it's worth it overall.

Exactly as described. Each of the items ordered were thoughtfully created. The blend of citrus, salt, fat, texture are evident. The flavors are excellent. I favored the shrimp, octopus, in two forms, and the molten lava cake.

We came here for a nice dinner. The ambiance was very cozy. We were lucky enough to have a table in the corner. The octopus salad, the fish of the day and the octopus main meal were good. The fish soup deserves a special mention, it was extremely rich and flavorful. Mili, our waitress, was nice and sweet.

The reviews of the octopus are spot on. Best octopus I’ve had in Lisbon after getting at least one octopus dish a day for four days. Fish soup was great as well.

Best meal we had in Lisbon. Pick any starter you like, as long as you’ll have the prawn risotto as a main. Phenomenal. Great, friendly service and ditto atmosphere.

Incredible food. I went here for dinner and ordered the octopus croquettes as a starter and the octopus as a main meal. Both were amazing- I especially loved the octopus croquettes, they were one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Wish I had room for dessert as I’m sure it would of been amazing too. The servers are attentive, helpful, and friendly. Definitely will come back when in Lisbon again!! Also make sure to make a reservation.

Lovely little gem with amazing food and reasonable prices! We ordered the prawns for starter with some bread and they were fresh and full of flavour. Followed by prawn risotto and tuna steak which were equally tasty. Had a bottle of dry white wine and finished with 2 cortados. Total bill came to €90 which is very reasonable. Highly recommend to book a table because it is busy and they mainly operate on reservations.

This is one of our two favorite restaurants in Lisbon. The salt baked sea bass was the best I’ve had. Perfectly cooked, moist, and full of flavor. It was paired by a well recommended white wine. The service was wonderful and dessert is a must. We had the cheesecake, which was soft, crust on top, with fresh fruit. We had to go for lunch because they were all booked out for dinner for the week. Highly recommended. The only minor improvement can be to the atmosphere. Slightly dimmer lighting with music would be welcomed.

We tried this restaurant for diner. One of the best in Lisbon. The decoration is very pretty as well as the personal who was very friendly and very welcoming. The food is so delicious. We tried the octopus salad, one of the best. We had the octopus dish, very tender very easy to eat with a lot of flavor. The seabass fish was also greatly cooked with side-vegetables. For desert, we had the cheesecake with bread crumbs and berries. The service was great and one of the two cheesecakes was on the house as they took a bit of time to be served. Over all very good restaurant, strongly recommend.

Wonderful octopus and seabass and wine was good. Our waiter was lovely and very helpul (originally from Pakistan - he made us guess based on his accent). Would definitely come back here and considering how busy it was it was very reasonably priced.

Limited menu options with too many Octopus plates, which if you don’t eat, then you are limited by quite a lot. I would have expected to see maybe a fresh sardines dish or scallops to have a richer variety in the menu. Straight from the start, service was extremely slow, especially in providing menus and in taking orders. I was surprised that they had new and inexperienced staff taking orders as he did not know the menu nor the wine options offered. The soups we ordered were delicious (vegetable and fish soup), and so was the fish and prawn curry. Overall, I would not have chosen to go to this restaurant if it’s out of your way. The service does not represent well the quality of the food made in the kitchen which was really good.

AMAZING!! I haven't even left the restaurant and i was to excited to comment. The best codfish of my life so far. The restaurant is very nice, dispite the fact that accross the street they are domingo work. The waiter was so nice, the music, the food OH GOD THE FOOD. The best in Lisbon, so far for me.

It was super busy and since we didn’t have a reservation we had to return an hour later to then luckily get a table - and it was worth the wait! We had the vegetable soup & tuna ceviche to start (excellent) and continued with the Octopus & Risotto (fantastic). The lemon merengue pie to finish was delicious too and Cathy has served us so friendly and well. Highly recommend - but book in advance if you can!

This is probably the best seafood meal we had here in Lisbon after dining in several different restaurants! The quality and freshness of the ingredients with the chef’s cooking really tick all the boxes. We’d highly recommend the prawns and clam starters alongside the octopus “a Lagareiro” - LOVE them! We also had the fish soup (hearty) and the fish of the day which were so fresh and delicious as well. The service in particular is top tier! Hicarla were very attentive and lovely while serving both of us. We particularly applaud the restaurant as they separate our dishes into 2 separate plates without asking them to, as we are sharing all of the dishes. The ambience of the restaurant were perfect, the noise level were just nice and we could talk without having to raise our voice. Overall, a 10/10 experience and couldn’t recommend this restaurant more! Thank you!

The best seafood I’ve had in Portugal. Highly recommend the prawn risotto! Outstanding service, ambience, and overall experience. It’s best to call ahead to reserve a table as it can get quite busy.

Really good lunch here! Recommended by a local friend, they do a special for lunch every day and it was of really high quality. Everything was cooked to perfection, and for €10, this was a really impressive meal that you’d expect to cost at least €5 more! Definitely try it out, can’t go wrong with this one.

Spectacular seafood restaurant. Even though they look fancy, they are not that more expensive than the regular hole in the wall restaurant. The fish soup was flavorful and fresh - they thoughtfully split our order into 2 bowls so each of us could try the dish. Prawn risotto was good but a bit salty. Polvo was delicious! Special shout-out to Wiki, our waiter, who was very attentive.

Very good yummy food and good wine! Ceviche, fishsoup, risotto with shrimps. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Paid with tip 90 Euros for 2 people including 2 bottles of sparkling water and a bottle of white wine. We saw the desserts they looked yummy too but we were so full, couldn't try. Overall really good experience 🤩

Had the most amazing food at this restaurant. Our waitor, Wiki, was also so kind in accomodating us. Our favourite dish was the tuna - so tender, flavourful and just mindblowing! Would definitely want to visit again.
