Such a lovely local place, a hidden gem in a minute walk from the Castle. It’s run by local people who are extremely friendly and nice and love what they’re doing (you can easily see and feel it). The restaurant is very small so you’d better book a table in advance for a dinner. Everything was delicious - octopus, green salad with goat cheese and walnuts, chocolate mousse. We visited it several times during our stay in Lisbon and were never disappointed. The food is made with love here!

Fantastic experience. This little restaurant is a gem - the lady owning the place was so hospitable and we were so pleasantly impressed with her. She was sweet and spoke French, English and other, catering to every guest. The food was simply the best. The bacalhau with nata was the highlight and was just too good. The lime dessert is the restaurant’s own recipe and was spectacular. We wanted to eat here everyday ❤️

Lovely small place at bottom of St. Jorge’s castle. The women that manage it are very kind and polite, they translate the menu for you as it’s only in Portuguese. The menu is small but everything we had was properly made and price are honest. Would recommend

This was the best food we had during our stay in Lisbon! We wanted.to come.back every night. Do youself.a favor and try the Bacalhau dish and the pork. I dream about these meals!!!!! The service was great! Little family run place.

Nice authentic place and the cod loin (lombo de bacalhau) was absolutely amazing - a must-try! Points docked for very long food waiting time, rude women who runs it and a foul “Greek’ salad that was all honey and no veggies. Particularly bad that they refused to give us tap water with our massive order and wine. She insisted on charging for tiny plastic bottles- really bad for the planet and the wallet. Declining to give someone tap water is unacceptable.

Not the friendliest environment, or maybe just a very selective staff :) Got the pulvo and although it was tasty overall, it was disappointing to see it was a reheated meal and not cooked fresh. Considering the price of the meal it should definitely be cooked fresh and not just thrown in the heater.

Delicious and high quality of cuisine. The owner made everything fresh and alternate her menu from time to time. All the dishes are tasty with good amount of portion. Do make reservations way in advance because the tables are limited and it often is fully booked. High recommended.

Absolutely a must. They care about their food. I'm 44, and it's the best pork I ever had. Take a trip and come here. It's a small place, but it's worth it. Best dishes in portugal so far.

A jewel of a restaurant nestling close to the castle entrance. Small, intimate, and with a beautiful atmosphere. The food was exquisite and beautifully prepared. We sat in the sun on cushions with some cold beers waiting for a table. So worth it! The interaction with the lovely manageress and staff absolutely made our day. Thank you so much! I wish I could go back once more in the evening. Alas, it was a day trip to visit the incredible Oceanarium and eat somewhere in Alfama. We struck lucky!

Both food and staff are amazing! Cod fish and octopus so good! All plates serves with salads! Potato is the best ever! The server is very very friendly and speak English very well. Look at our plates😊

Nice spot tucked away in the corner of a busy street. Food was tasty, we got the burrata, lombo de porco, and salmon. The sauce on the pork was delicious. Knocking off one star because I felt that the food didn’t justify the cost. There are other places in Lisbon that are cheaper and tastier. It’s on a touristy street, so that may be expected.

We ate dinner and it was amazing! Service is kind, quick and careful, the friendly lady translated the whole menu for us (from Portuguese to English or French) The food was very tasty, portions were abundant but we did not feel too full after the dinner. The octopus was insane, very soft and delicious 😍 Definitely recommend, there is not much space inside so maybe it's a good idea to call in advance 😉

Incredible authentic Portuguese food that has a great feel of home cooking, located right under the castle. We arrived a few minutes before opening for dinner at 7pm and only just made it to grab the last table. It books out quickly, so call ahead to reserve if you want a table!

We came in here because of the good reviews. My friend and I were seated inside, the interior was a bit smelly. We had octopus salad, salmon and the green wine recommended by the woman who was serving us. Octopus salad had too much onions and salmon was just plain. Not the most pleasant service. Nothing special and overpriced.

we got the codfish with cream the sardine appetizer and the salad. The salad was honestly the best part. The portions were pretty small and not that filling so we had to order more bread. The flavor was really good though

A very nice little restaurant right under the walls of Lisbon's castle. The food was pricey, but excellent, especially the main courses. It is run by a middle aged couple who give very friendly service. There are only a small number of tables, so might be worth booking in advance. I got very lucky. Even on a Monday in April the place was completely full.

What a great little spot right next to the castle! The service was great, the woman was so sweet and helpful and the food was superb. Got the salmon and chicken and both were delicious as was the green wine! A great spot for lunch or dinner after a walk through of the castle.

Very good and cute restaurant, family owned. The Porto cocktails were a very fresh and tasty start. The octopus and the salmon were very fresh and perfectly seasoned. The dessert were a great finish! Would highly recommend.

amazing menu, small place, wonderful food. everything we tried was outstanding. one of the best lunches i have ever had. the flavors in the meat pie, the grilled octopus and the dover sole were cooked perfectly and tastes bursted into your mouth. not only was the food 5*, but the service was friendly and great. i would come back in a heart beat.
