this place is an institution. it has kept well it's quality for at least the last 20 years. it's a good place to eat a wide range of Portuguese specials from seafood to fish and meat. I don't give a 5 because its often busy and the service is a bit rushed but i still recommend it.

3 of us ordered the same steak Picanha, the meat was smelly and old. When we reacted to the waiter he just ignored our comment even though we left our plates full.

Restaurant with traditional Portuguese food. Very busy, best to book a table. The food is tasty, the service is quick and attentive staff.

I recommend the hot stone with the cheaper meat. Affordable price and quite tender. I do not recommend the picanha with banana. It was a bit cold. Medium done (which is good). The standard side dishes are a little too carb focused (rice & fries). I recommend to mix it up. All in all with the right dish a great place with nice atmosphere. It lends itself for larger groups as well. Spatious. Parking opportunities are not abundant. But managable. Definitely coming again.

Not touristy restaurant at all! Great seafood dishes! Loved the clams and the rice with fish and prawns. Good wine choices and our server Pedro was fantastic!! Will definitely eat at this restaurant again when we come back to Lisbon!

We have been here a couple of times. Always very good food, we love the Sapateira crab and shrimps. Atmosphere also fantastic. A true original seafood pub Portuguese style, full of locals. Sometimes the service is quite slow.

Like a good red wine, Edmundo has only aged well which is really nice to see. Genuine food, here! Great seafood, beef on the hot stone, and the starters! Hmmmm the starters... Yum! You can go for a full meal or just to snack on some of those delicious starters accompanied by beer/wine. Last but definitely not least, super friendly staff who love what they do and it shows! Food made with love, served with love and always a friendly smile.

I received a recommendation about this place form my friend as the place with meat on the hot stones. So I looked forward to eat in here. Well, I was pretty satisfied with my experience but I will not come again. Place is traditional Portuguese restaurant with nice atmosphere but I don’t understand why they have no music for background. Anyway, I was sited fast and the waiter tried his best to speak English to me (unfortunately my Portuguese is not that good but I do love local food). I was surprised with appetizers - I used that olives served with olive oil, garlic and herbs. Here there were just marinated oils from the can without any spices. Well, it is fine. Oysters looked big and seemed fresh. But again - usually on kitchen they separate the oyster from the shell, but here I had a hard time to unstick the oyster and did it with normal fork. Plus fresh oysters in restaurants are around 2-3€ each, here I payed 11€ for 3, so it is over the price even in the city center. Main dish was the beef steak on grill with bacon and potato. First - I didn’t feel any smell from meat, you know, usually grilled steak smells really strong and good. There were no smell, and how I discovered - no taste. I literally asked the waiter to bring me salt and garlic, because meat had to taste at all. It was juicy and fresh, but I was surprised how plain it tasted. Well, potatoes tasted better than steak! Also potatoes were just boiled. Again, I used in other Portuguese restaurants they serve potatoes which were boiled and later baked with garlic and olive oil. These side didn’t have anything, just boiled with no spices. Potatoes itself were tasty, but I had to add oil and garlic by myself. So I was confused, that the food seemed good but wasn’t satisfying. The dessert actually was good - milk soufflé with crushed cookies. I like it. But anyway. Portuguese cuisine is very flavorful and I was surprised that this restaurant was so full of people, with decent, even but higher than average prices served food so plain. Not my best choice so far. I am glad I have tried, but don’t recommend to other people

Excellent food, particularly the chocolate mousse, and despite how busy it gets, there’s an attentive service. The place is a bit loud, traditional Portuguese. You hate it or love it. I love it and will keep coming back for more

Food here was good, expensive (45eur / per person) but good. Now its just expensive. We ordered clams with no taste. One of the prawn dishes had no salt and the arroz de tamboril was passed its validity, possibly frozen as it didnt taste good. One of our friends felt bad and vomited that very same day. ImBetter restaurants in Lisbon for sure.

Good food, quick service and nice vibe. The restaurant is for locals and has a lot of people eating in there which means that is a really good option to eat seafood in Lisbon. Expect to spend 30-40 euros per person.

A great restaurant, opened all day and till 2am. Great meat, seafood and fresh fish. You won't regret your choice! :) Be sure to try "amêijoas à Bulhão Pato" and the amazing "bife na pedra"

Calling the restaurant, to check if possible to make a reservation, endless message "Your call is on hold". Is this a joke? Better not to put a phone number if you do not wish to answer calls.

Typical Portuguese surf and turf restaurant (cervejaria). Good selection of fresh seafood and fish, as well as meats. Reasonable prices, but not cheap. I recommend the garlic shrimp, crab (sapateira), steak sandwich (prego). Note that certain dishes are much better in the summer than in the winter, such as clams (ameijoas a bolhao pato), large prawns, etc.

Fantastic food and very good service

.The food is good to reasonable, depending on the type of dish that is ordered. However, the price of the seafood is very high for the quality presented. Some of the dishes, including the mussels, were full of oil, which made it difficult to eat. The staff is attentive, but the service is chaotic, total disorganization. There doesn't seem to be any table distribution, the staff never know which table the food is for and you can hear unpleasant discussions behind the counter. I probably won't be back.
