Ideal location in the center, the tall building serves as a landmark, easy to find from far away. Tram 28 has its terminal in front of the building. But central location also means it is quite noisy at night. It's an elegant huge hotel with busy reception. Unfortunately the elevators are slow and not enough for such a huge number of people at peak season. At check out we had to wait for a long time to get downstairs with our suitcase. Our room was spacious, but the bathroom had some drawbacks. The room maids did an exellent job in a discreet way. We were surprised to hear we had to pay for the mineral water placed in the room every day - not in the minibar. It is such a petty thing from an expensive four star hotel. Also there was no complimentary tea or coffee, only a kettle. The seating system at breakfast was annoying, though I understand the reasons of logistics.

Lovely hotel with helpful smiling staff. Great breakfasts, organized buffet with eggs, various breads, meats and cheeses. Pots of hot coffee and hot milk at each table for refills. Rooftop bar with amazing views of the city! Located close to shopping, food tours, and sights. Arranged a driver to the airport when we left.

This hotel was recommended to us for the rooftop bar, and it did not disappoint! We got to try croquettes and a strawberry sangria, while enjoying a wonderful view of the city.

The hotel and all the staff were excellent! We came in very early and they graciously held our luggage until our room was open. Breakfast was good, but did get a little mundane at the end of our stay. No problem though because the view from our room was excellent and beds were so comfortable. Being so central was perfect for our trip. We even left for another location and returned to Lisbon prior to our late flight and they again allowed us to leave our luggage until we needed to go back to the airport. Would recommend this place to everyone!

For the price, the hotel is too bad! Maybe in former time, it was a great hotel. But now, you definitely can find a better one. 1. The place where the hotel is, is very noisy and a lot of homeless people and drug addicts were right next to the hotel. Not a nice place anymore. Saw this nowhere else in the city. 2. The rooms looking to the big place where very noisy! Windows are not thick enough or isolated. We asked for another room, but they couldn't tell us, because they didn't know, which rooms are free....Also it was not really good cleaned. I found a used cigarette and hairs from the guests before! 3. The breakfast is really awful. We tried it once, but really not worth the money. Then we went the nice and cutes cafés around for having breakfast. Better choice. 4. For the price normally a water bottle a day/or for arriving should be included. We drank the bottle, which was standing on the table. No sign, that it will costs something. When we checked out, they charged us 3€ for this bottle! Wow, not a great service for what is called a 4 Star Hotel. All in all, you can have a better hotel, for sure! Look for another one. If we wouldn't have payed so much money for this, we would have checked out directly again!

There was an elevator out of service and it took sometimes 30 minutes to get up and down the levels. There was no offer to take our luggage to our room (which would have allowed us to at least use the stairs) and there was no explanation or apology for the huge inconvenience. What made it worse is when we finally made it to our floor, our key card didn't work, so the elevator journey began again... Upon checkout we could not even get an elevator... just struggled lugging 4 large bags down stairs ourselves. Made 2 trips, front reception just watched, no offer to help once again . Hotel is massive yet didn't have a pool which I found strange. Rooftop cocktail bar is really cool and unique and the buffet breakfast was very good. I think this is a great hotel for young couples singles or groups of friends. Not older couples or families. This was our last stay of our honeymoon and out of 2 airbnbs and another hotel this ranked last. -Joshua

The hotel's location is its best feature. We had rooms overviewing the square, which was lovely. Most of the main attractions and shopping streets are within walking distance. The rooms are quite spacious and convenient. I had, however electricity problems, as two sockets and the lamps that were connected there didn't work properly. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I requested several extras that were delivered in the blink of an eye. We got a complementary drinks upon arrival, which is always nice. The bars are definitely worth visiting. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of everything. There are vegan and fat-free options.

Great place to stay there and discover this great City! This hotel is located at the heart of Lisbon. From there you find many important places in walking distance. The famous Tram 28 and also line 12 are starting here. The Hotel as such is clean, but you can see, that it is not brand new anymore. Decades of intense usage left traces in the bathrooms and rooms/furniture. Staff is friendly and service oriented. For an extended sightseing weekend highly recommended.

Great location for trip to Lisbon. In the Commercial quarter. All transport connections within 5 minutes from hotel. Bus, Tram and Metro. 5 star hotel, immaculate decor, great staff, rooms comfortable and very clean. Breakfast choices great, continental or hot cooked food. Recommended

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Mundial in Lisbon, and I cannot express enough gratitude and admiration for the exceptional service provided by two remarkable individuals, Jose and Ruben. Their dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of my family, particularly my beloved grandmother, was truly outstanding. From the moment we arrived, Jose and Ruben made us feel welcomed and valued. Their warm smiles and genuine care set the tone for our entire stay. However, it was their swift and decisive action during a moment of crisis that truly made them stand out. One Morning, my grandmother encountered a medical emergency during breakfast. Without hesitation, Jose sprang into action. He ran to her aid with a sense of urgency that immediately put our minds at ease. His calm and composed demeanor reassured us that we were in capable hands. Both swiftly coordinated with medical professionals and ensured that she received the prompt attention she needed. Throughout the ordeal, Jose and Ruben remained by our side, offering support, comfort, and regular updates on my grandmother's condition. Their unwavering commitment to her well-being was truly remarkable. They went above and beyond their duties as hotel staff, demonstrating genuine compassion and empathy. Beyond their exceptional response to the emergency, Jose and Ruben consistently provided outstanding service throughout our stay. They were attentive to every detail, ensuring that our needs were met and that we felt comfortable and cared for. Their friendly and accommodating nature made us feel like valued guests. I cannot recommend Jose and Ruben enough. Their professionalism, compassion, and quick thinking were truly exemplary. They turned a potentially distressing situation into one where we felt supported and well-assured. Their actions not only reflect their personal qualities but also speak volumes about the Hotel Mundial as an establishment that values its guests' safety and well-being. If you have the opportunity to stay at the Hotel Mundial in Lisbon, I urge you to seek out Jose and Ruben. Their dedication and genuine care will undoubtedly enhance your experience. They are a true asset to the hotel and exemplify what exceptional service should be. Thank you, Jose and Ruben, for making our stay memorable and for running to my grandmother's safety. You have our deepest gratitude. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5 stars)

I visited Lisbon for my birthday and stayed at Hotel Mundial. The hotel has a great location, fantastic views and walking distance to attractions, restaurants and shops. The staff are truly professional, attentive and very friendly . They went the extra mile for me to enjoy my birthday with a very special touch of leaving me a bottle of champagne in my room. Thank you for making my birthday so memorable. I would highly recommend Hotel Mundial. You will not be disappointed.

Very pleased with this hotel. Very busy with tourists and reception area can get quite busy. Room was large and spacious. Good bathroom. Excellent room service every day of our 5 night stay. Enjoyed 2 Excellent meals in the veranda restaurant. Great service and tasty food. We appreciated the advice on wine choice. Breakfast was first class. Location Excellent.

Great central location with easy access to all public transport. The famous Trolley 28 is right outside the front door. Easy walking distance to several Metro Stations and the Rossio Train Station. Wonderful breakfast and nice rooms. The hotel staff could not be more congenial or helpful. Outstanding customer service. Grocery store next store for odds and ends. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

We were very pleased. Large clean room. We requested a room with a bath, and ironing board - everything was done. There are always several taxi cars waiting in front of the entrance. The staff is friendly. The breakfast was tasty and we had a big choice. On the last floor there is a beautiful restaurant with a panoramic view.

Rooftop bar is worth a stop in the afternoon to watch sunset and watch city lights come on. Food could use some work but wine is decent priced. Get there early for front row table.

Hotel with big annoyance: I booked this hotel because of its location and its great rooftop bar - 2 nights. on the first evening the rooftop bar was closed because of an event. as a hotel guest I was put off until the next evening, Saturday. An hour before sundown was already reserved on the terrace again. In a waiting room , where nothing to drink gets, one may wait. for hours. Many hotel guests left in a huff. As a hotel guest you have almost no chance to get a place at sunset. The hotel should urgently change its policy.

I spend there one week and I am very pleased with the hotel. The rooms are big enough, very clean, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is also clean and big. The view from the room was very nice. It is not noisy, during the night is quiet and we could sleep very well. The breakfast is ok, there is a big variety of food. The ladies there always try to find the best table for you. Only the coffee was not the best, but this is normal for such big hotels. They made a surprise for my birthday with a little gift :) The location is in the center of the city. The rooftop bar in expensive but with amazing views.

The location is perfect. The staff is super friendly and professional. They don't have the basic amenities, for example: iron and ironing board. They have a blower but you need to stay pressing a button so the device can work. The first day we got to the hotel, there was a power outage. After almost 11 hours of not having a shower we couldn't have a shower because there was no electricity and no hot water. The power came back an hour later. We had two lamps in each side of the bed and someone came (with the best intention) and installed an electricity converter. We later couldn't turn on those lamps. The only light we had was the lamp in the drawer, the entrance and the bathroom. There's no icemaker, you have to ask for ice in the reception area. Overall, I would say the people are extremely friendly and service oriented, they just need to correct these flaws.

The people that work there are very attentive and respectful. The rooms could be cleaner. We had an issue with an smell coming out if the bathroom. The location is perfect. This hotel is close to everything. The rooftop is nice. We enjoyed our time there.

Beautiful, clean hotel with nice sized rooms and comfy beds. It’s in a great location with the friendliest staff. I will say that our experience on their beautiful roof top bar was disappointing solely based off the attitudes from the staff up there but that definitely wasn’t the theme throughout the rest of the hotel!

Hotel is indeed in a perfect location for exploring the city. Rooms are a good size and clean. Service is very good. Downstairs bar very comfortable and not too busy. Rooftop bar can be a bit overcrowded and noisy, but it’s peak season so as expected. I stayed for a week, which included my birthday. This was never mentioned to any of the staff, but on my birthday a bottle of champagne and box of chocolates was left in my room. Nice touch that was well appreciated! Very happy with the stay here. Would 100% stay again if ever coming back to Lisbon.

Great hotel. Great location. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The roof deck bar area has great views of the city. The Veranda restaurant has good food and big wine selection. If you're planning a trip to Lisbon, I recommend Hotel Mundial

Nice hotel and well located for many of the sights. Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and helpful. Supermarket very close to the hotel and many items well priced with wine from 1.59€ Breakfast is good and the room in which we stayed was big and spotlessly clean. Sadly the bedroom overlooked the main street so was very noisy at night. I'm no expert but it looked like black mold may have been growing near the bath?

We went to the rooftop bar near sun set and waited about 15 minutes for a table. Ordered drinks, charcuterie and cheese. Drinks were good and food was great as well as the atmosphere. Staff were organized and professional. Recommend reservation. Food and drinks, (one drink each) was about 20€each. Worth it and would return.

Very good location and super helpful staff. We got mineral water every day and small treats at arrival. It is in walking distance to almost every attraction (we like to walk). The breakfast is a strong average. It worths to go early to avoid the queue. The only reason I gave 4 is because there is a permanent noise beyond the usual voice of the traffic, maybe the huge central unit of the AC on the roof. We could sleep well because were very tired but if you are sensitive to background sounds it's not your place. But overall we loved it! Thanks!

Fantastic location and very Modern hotel. Very friendly welcome by all staff on reception and throughout our stay. Breakfast was very good plenty of choice and fresh, hot and cold buffet. Loved the Roof Top bar, fantastic views. All reception staff we spoke to went above and beyond to help us with any concerns and dealt with any questions immediately. Also giving us local Tourist advice during our short break. Our first room on arrival, was a room upgrade and a fulfilled request for a high floor with a view which was a nice gesture and appreciated. Room size was very good with a nice bathroom, very clean and modern feel, just a couple of issues for us which were very quickly resolved was that the air con wasn't working, it kept blowing out warm heat, (we learnt that because it’s winter some rooms in the hotel are controlled by the hotel). We didn't sleep that well the first evening, also we found it noisy being on the front side of the hotel. We spoke to reception about the issues the following morning and left it with them as we had to go out early on a day trip. We came back later in the day and spoke to reception again and immediately they had kindly moved us to a different room which was very much appreciated. The room was much quieter, and a lot cooler, we could control the air con ourselves within the room which resolved our problem, and we slept very well for the rest of our stay, which was perfect! The only minor issue we had with the second room was that the bathroom was smaller, sink area was okay but toilet was cramped, it was positioned in a very restricted space within the bathroom, as kept catching our arms on the loo roll holder, also when taking a shower it seemed a bit restricted too on space and we are just your average build, all in all nothing major and wouldn’t stop us returning, we had a really pleasant and positive stay. We really enjoyed our stay at The Hotel Mundial and visiting Lisbon, was our first time there and wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Lovely hotel in a perfect position for visiting the town. Friendly helpful staff in every part of the hotel. Roof bar is a must visit especially when the weather is good. Room clean and very comfortable. Definitely recommend and would stay again

Located between two metro stations and 40 meters far from the Tram 28 first stop, great area to stay because you are in the center of city. Very clean rooms, the hotel is huge but we did not have noise problem at all. Breakfast is good, not excellent but good. The stuff was helpful, i would stay again there.

We enjoyed our stay at this Hotel. The location is perfect and central to access all public transports (Tramway, Buses, Metro and Train station less than 500 meters) and visit the the town. Special thanks to the Hotel staff for their kindness and being really helpfull when asking. The room was fine (even if a it would deserve to be refreshed a little...) It was a little noisy, nertheless it is a cost to pay if your are located in a crowdy place and close to Firemen station (reason of my 4 stars only). But at the end, not so problematic. I would recomend this hotel!

It was a pleasant stay. Very nice staff, perfect location directly in the center and next to the trams. The food in the restaurant was very good, breakfast was okay. Room was quite fine, but the windows were so thin, that you could hear everything from the street in the night. For the price it was more than okay! :) We would come back - with earplugs ;)

Simply amazing! The room was spacious, the breakfast huge and the views unbeatable. The location is ideal to explore the city on foot or via public transportation. The front desk staff were the friendliest and most helpful people we have seen during our travels. They went above and beyond to help us. I have only good things to say about my experience here.

For the budget price we paid, we can't fault it. Location is perfect, tram 28 stop at the door steps, ( we managed some 730am tram ride with my son before breakfast, avoided the touristy queue and crowd), it is minutes away from 2 Metros and touristy sites. Our triple room was clean and spacious ( plus we were lucky to have courtyard facing room, so there were no noise issues at all ). Room is basic and clean, but it is not a 5 stars Hotel so one shouldn't expect a 5 stars Hotel room. Breakfast is standard and enough varieties for everyone. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooftop bar has a wonderful view, good for drinks ( food has limited choice and overpriced even for a hotel). One negative thing is, there were no kettle in the room. Can't make a cup of tea. Overall we had a very good stay, will come back.

Lovely hotel, centrally located and close to everything. Very near pedestrian area, with many restaurants and bars close by. Taxi rank is outside the front door, as well as the main stop for Tram 28 and its hilltop tours. Best rooms are on the higher floors overlooking the square. Beds and rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast is just OK. Reasonable selection for the cold buffet breakfast. Hot breakfast is limited, luke-warm and disappointing. There is a fancy restaurant upstairs, but it is expensive. We did not try it because the hot breakfast was so poor. Highlight of our stay is the Rooftop bar with spectacular views of the city, although cocktails and snacks are expensive. The cheapest option is a bottle of wine. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is no swimming pool or spa, but otherwise the hotel is a very good choice for anyone who wants to be close to everything in the city centre. Recommended.

Staff were so supportive and friendly, hotel location is very good and close to many attractions. Room were so spacious but old and really in renovation needed status. Most of services which are free in many 4-star hotels were not available in the room, simple example is hot water and tea bags or slippers.

It is a good, comfortable hotel with a good value for money. It is well positioned, central, with quick access to the subway station. The rooms are spacious, clean and the bed is comfortable (the mattress is good). Breakfast is varied and tasty. Important for me: the staff is friendly! Don't miss the view from the rooftop bar! I recommend! We will be back!

Nice place for staying. Big clean room and good breakfast. We got a room on 5th floor with beautiful view. The Rooftop Bar is residents only in the evening time, worth to go spending your night.

The staff made our entire stay excellent. The staff from reception was so friendly and helpful and really welcoming. Then there was the staff at the breakfast it felt like we came in as strangers and left as friends. Everyone was so nice and friendly and really services minded. Also the Barman in the bar, when we arrived earlier then check in time the room was not ready yet so we wanted to get some food in the bar but the kitchen was still closed. But the barman was so very friendly and sweet and brought us cookies and dried fruit and nuts. The room was very nice and spacious and the bed was comfy and the view was very pretty! The only thing that was a little less perfect was that the window was not really sound proof so we could here everything from the streets like car alarms sirens and people on the square across the street. We would love to stay here again and the staff deserves a raise ! Location also very good !

Good clean and reasonable sized bedrooms. Great Rooftop bar. Good Location - 5 mins walk from local squares, pedestrian streets and trams/buses. Staff friendly and helpful.

Room was clean and water is hot with good enough water pressure. Bed was comfortable. Morning breakfast is not very good, so we went out most days for a coffee and pastry — even better to see the city waking up. Location is very good to get to different points within the city, so no complaints. Only issue is wifi. Good enough for email, but if you want to stream a video or have a Zoom meeting, forget it. Any work-related meetings need to be done by phone — don’t even attempt zoom.

Room was nice with a view of The square. Was a little noisy from outside. Beds and pillows could do with updating. Bed was sagging and pillows were lumpy Good location. Public transport everywhere. Food and drink. Walkable to some sites restaurants close by or public transport closer by to explore food in other areas Rooftop bar was quite pricey for the area and what you get. Food was nice but not great. Steak sandwich was a huge letdown (undersized chewy piece of steak and that was it in it). drinks were nice

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Mundial, the room and the view was amazing and we also appreciated the service, everything was very good and safe (Covid wise). I'd like also to mention the help we received from the reception, in particular from Ana, extremely kind and nice with us! We'll surely come back to Hotel Mundial the next time we are in Lisbon.

Me and my two friends just walked in to this hotel for few drinks in Oct 22. Lobby bar & roof top bar were very good. Excellent friendly staff. Specify guys worked in the lobby bar. Even we are not residents in the hotel, they treat us very well. Credit to the place. Highly recommend if anyone wants to have few evening pre dinner drinks in fancy place.
