I am an American from Southern California, I know little to no Portuguese, and I had the best experience at this bar. The bartender had so much knowledge about the alcohol originating from Portugal, and had the best suggestions for alcohol made in Portugal. He was so kind and generous with his time, he made us feel so welcome. We came in for one drink, but we stayed for more solely because we were having such a great experience. If you are looking to have a drink in a bar that is frequented by the locals, look no further. I highly suggest this place for the Ginjinha, the Madeira punch, and any Portuguese alcohol. It is straight up authentic.

A hidden gem among the many wine shops in the area. Great sausage & cheese board, great ginjha, and best of all great wine. Definitely recommend.

The service is incredible, let alone the hospitality. Ze has great insights on sociological matters. It's a real local place as well, not a tourist trap. Will visit again whenever I am in Lisbon

This small unassuming bar is a part of Lisbon that gives the traveler a respite from the tourists and a taste of what the locals enjoy. I was warmly welcomed by the bartender Jose and given a sampling of Portuguese liquors and beer. I ended up spending t two hours taking with him and a local photographer, getting a sense of what real Lisbon is. Great spot to relax and enjoy.

We were in Lisbon for four days and had the Sangria de ginga at this lovely establishment in the Chiado neighborhood. The owner and his son were amazing hosts and made the most amazing sangria! We will definitely be back next time! Obrigada!

A place that locals frequent. Great staff. Nice place to stop for Ginjinha and a snack. They do other drinks too like poncha!

Uhm, why did I not find this place sooner??? The bar tender alone is like a free tour of Lisbon's drinking scene! He is so friendly, chatty & knowledgeable! We only wanted to try the cherry drink with the chocolate cup but there was so much else here that was unique and tasty to try - very tempting!! If you want to go somewhere small, with knowledgeable staff, have a good drink or two or three & chat with others casually - this is the place! Next time I am in Lisbon, I will be visiting sooner!

Very cute stop with a lot of knowledge of traditional and delicious drinks. The barman was an absolute delight and gave us the history of the drinks as well as advice on how the locals prepare them. Would definitely recommend the bitter almond with lemon. Was a highlight of our trip and wish we had found it sooner

Love this little bar! It was my first time, but my husband and sister-in-laws second. We were helped by the father and son that own the bar….they were great. We had a all the specialty drinks, plus more! My favorite was the sangria ginja. I really loved the shot of ginja in the chocolate cup too, I’ve had it at other places and the chocolate was always dry and unappetizing… the chocolate cup was so good here! Definitely give this place a try!

I love this place! I was a tourist but enjoyed the ginja (cherry liquor) and learning about the Portuguese culture from the amazing bartender Zé. Lots of locals and tourists alike - must visit!

Some things never change and should never change. A night in Bairro Alto begins at Praça Camões, followed by a "Ginginha" at this place (chocolate or glass cup, your choice), otherwise you're not doing it right.

Perfect little bar to have drinks with friends. Try the homemade punch, it’s delicious. Also ask the boss to make a cocktail for you, they are really great.

We had a great time with Ze ! We learned a lot about local drink and customs. Ze is well educated and has plenty to share, he’s like a walking history book. Looking forward to another visit.

👍👍 I was very surprised to see that even though this is right in the middle of “tourist town” the Pastel De Nata is by far the best I have ever tried. 👍👍 We are Americans visiting and really enjoyed the pastries and coffee here. As a warning to other travelers, most the staff doesn't speak English and there us a ticket system to order.
