👍👍 My fiancé and I loved this hotel. First off, Facu, from the front desk was FANTASTIC! Extremely kind and super helpful. When we checked in he showed us a map and showed us all the locations to visit and eat and circled areas to go visit. The room we had was spacious and the bed was very comfortable... My fiancé and I loved this hotel. First off, Facu, from the front desk was FANTASTIC! Extremely kind and super helpful. When we checked in he showed us a map and showed us all the locations to visit and eat and circled areas to go visit. The room we had was spacious and the bed was very comfortable during our stay. The hotel room included 2 complimentary waters. The breakfast spread they provided was actually great! They had coffee machine, variety of baked goods, cold cuts, as well as fruits and few other items. The location of the hotel is perfect to walk around Lisboa. There are easy access to two “hidden” elevators to go up towards the castle and down towards the city center. The hotel is on a hill so just be aware of that. Overall great stay.

We stayed in Lisbon Casual Belle Epoque hotel on 16-20 September 2022. If you want to stay in a real 4-star hotel in Lisbon, this is not the place. I still wonder how they deserve 4 stars and how they can apply such prices. As for the situations I encountered: 1- They force you to walk barefoot after taking a bath in the room where most people walk around in their shoes. Because they don't have bath slippers, when I requested disposable slippers, the man at the reception said "we don't have them. I was surprised and asked why? He said, "ask the boss if you want"! 2- We came back exhausted from the 10-hour tour of Sintra at 6 pm. When we entered the room, the room was standing with the mess of the morning. The towels we left on the floor to be changed were still on the floor, and the empty shampoos and bath gel tubes were waiting for us in the bathroom. When I reported the situation to the receptionist, I got the answer "you should have said to clean the room in the morning before you go". This answer angered me and I explained to her the requirements of a 4-star hotel. But unfortunately, I got the answer with scolding and shouting from Ms. J, who is the receptionist. She was shouting at me and my wife and saying "you will respect me" and "I am not your child" We are 60 years old. I can't accept them shouting at us both and I don't think we deserve such behavior. As a result, these hotel employees have a lot to learn in terms of customer satisfaction. I'm sure this isn't the first time this has happened to us. Because as far as I can see, the hotel management doesn't care. I will report all my feedback to the Casual hotel chain as well. If you are looking for a 4-star hotel, I would not recommend this place. Sometimes more important than an apology is, not to do it.

Location of the hotel was perfect very center. Walking distance of everything. Rooms were nice and renovated BUT bathroom smell was horrible in the room to a point I have to keep the ac on so smell get less. Our second day of stay we woke up to a sound of water leaking. AC was leaking from ceiling. Staff are very nice and friendly but that's it.

My wife and I ended up our Portugal trip in Lisbon at the Casual Belle Epoque. From the pictures on the Internet, it looked like a good place to stay. But pictures often don't convey the reality, and that was/is the case here. These are $50/night rooms for more than 3x that price. I guess there's a reason they make you pay for the full stay up front. They're afraid you'll flee once you see the actual room. The problems: * VERY slippery bathroom floor * very hard to shower and not get the whole bathroom wet * very high step into the tub. Probably not possible for elderly. * horrible view from window * badly stained carpet * very creaky floors and we could every step the upstairs guests took. * no parking - despite advertising to contrary.

Booked 2 rooms for 4 nights for 3 people. Well insulated from outside noise, but extremely noisy floorboards. Could hear upstairs guest walking around at all hours of day/night which woke us up. Could hear this through earplugs! Bad smells from drains, this faded with opening of windows but of course then it was cold. One room wasn’t ready on our arrival at 4pm. Breakfast mediocre but acceptable for bread/pastries. Automated machine coffee with no alternative milks. Beds comfortable. Twin room had both beds stuck together with no room to separate them. Limited amenities - soap, shampoo, gel, comb only. No robe or slippers. No conditioner etc. Had to ask for towels for the second guest in one room despite it being booked for two.

From positive side: 1) good location 2) fine breakfast 3) comfy matresses (altgough they use unapropriate linen, so the bed often remains uncovered). We have very negative experience with their receptionist. As we were traveling by car with kids, we have decided to book a private parking slot, offered by the hotel almost a month before the visit. They have even charged us 50% booking fee. How surprised we were when the receptionist told us on arrival, that we will not get our parking slot. Even when I showed her their booking confirmation with parking included she denied by saying "You can show whatever you want, but you will not get it". Quite rude remark, I would say. So we had to find another parking by ourselves and it was quite stressfull (and expensive) in the downtown area. You can imagine our reaction when on return to the reception she said, that we were right and here is our parking card. When we said that we have parked already and it doesn't make any sesnse, she was trying to charge us full parking rate and seemed to be very unhappy when we've asked to remove this fee.

Nice large room with comfortable bed. Hotel is centrally located within walking distance to waterfront, restaurants, transportation, Castelo San Jorge, etc. Good value.

The location of the hotel is great. However, the service and facility is far below expectations. Just to be fair. The manager of the hotel warmly reached out to us on the next day, carefully listened to our major concerns, and committed to look into improvement. Hope the service becomes better and better. We arrived at the hotel around 9pm. There was no staff at reception to help us check in. After waiting a while, the receptionist came and her first reaction was asking us to call a local number next time if reception is empty. This looks very different from any other 4-star hotel which provides 24*7 reception service. Our near 2-year old kid got a fever. When we asked if the receptionist had a thermometer, she showed us an unusable digital thermometer which had run out of battery. Only when I asked if there was a nearby grocery store to buy batteries, she gave us a mercury thermometer. It was very tough to use for infants and caused our kid to keep crying during the entire measurement. The receptionist insisted we should pay in advance before giving us the room card. Later we realized the reason. The baby cot in our family suite was not set up correctly (see picture). We asked the receptionist if she could help set up the baby cot correctly. The answer shocked us. She said: "This is ok for your baby. The baby cot is a free service. We don't have to guarantee it is available." We got angry and explained to her this was very dangerous for a baby. The receptionist shocked us again by shouting to us: "You must respect me. I work here." Come on. We are parents who worry about the safety of our baby who is sick. Why were we treated so rudely by the receptionist of a 4-star hotel?

I love the place! Our trip started not that well, hotel is on little steep street, but thanks to hotel employees we found elevators just couple of doors up, have to admit- location is excellent, close to everything what You would like to see in Lisbon. Most important was employees- friendly, kind and helpful, what a pleasure to come back from long day walking and be greeted with a smile ! Just don't go for budget room , it is very small if you like comfort. Highly recommended!

We remained there with a group of 6 during a congress. The level of the reception team is from good to low moderate.Rooms are ok beds comfortable but AC caanot be regulated from room. Shower is in bathtub so some exercise is needed, floor bathroom is slippery. Breakfast start at 7 and is complete but improvement of the coffee is a must. Hotel located in old city allows you to visit interrsting places walking.

Location, location, location!!! Everything is close. Everyone is amazing, friendly, helpful! The rooms are specious and clean. Our original booking was for 3 nights, then we extended for 1 more, then 3 more…our Lisbon visit turned into 10 days stay. Shout out to the Reception staff!!! Sanja and Dejan!

The persons at the reception were just perfect and so sympatics. Our star was great with children. The hotel is located in the center and there is a lot of things to do around. Thank you very much.

We stayed at Casual Belle Epoque in Lisbon and the experience was fantastic! We booked a family room and the room was super spacious, with two bathrooms! The service was great, very friendly and the hotel is super well located, near all major attractions. Very much recommended!

The room was so much smaller than the photo, the bed is definitely not for 2 people. We left right away, and they didn’t want to give us the refund for 2 nights. (we still haven’t gotten the money). Please do yourselves a favor, DO NOT book this place!

The front desk staff/bar tenders were very helpful and resourceful. The rooms are beautiful. The breakfast, omg, the breakfast, was wonderful.

Brilliant location, couldn't be better. Tourist attractions just "next door", many restaurants, supermarkets nearby. Kind and helpfull staff. Breakfasts were ok. The room was clean, but needs some renovation, especially bathroom (wallpaper was peeling off, toilet seat was scratched and swingy). That should not happened in 4* hotel. The biggest disadvantage was acustics of the building. You can hear neighbours even talking and walking normally. Generally we can recommended it, but not for people who need silence or luxury.

This hotel was perfect for my wife and I. Close to many things! Cyril was exceptionally helpful. If you are undecided on what to see and do, ask Cyril.

Comfortable room and convenient location to main tourist areas. Also with very friendly and helpful reception, especially Cyril! Appreciated the WhatsApp contact by reception to settle questions especially parking for our rental car. Breakfast was good, welcome drink was a nice touch. Only small feedback is room lighting could be brighter.

So I’m not really sure where to start with this review, maybe start with the best then take it from there. Staff was friendly, they treated my dog very well. Cons: this hotel was very dirty. My shower had visible mold lining all corners and angles and I’m fairly certain they never really cleaned it. The carpet, better served for a private home, was very spiked and dirty. I literally wore shower shoes around like I was in the Shawshank. The mattress was also very dirty there was no protective plastic. I would think in the post-apocalyptic world in year 2022 there would be some semblance of sanitary measures. They did not put down a fitted sheet either so if you shifted in the slightest you would be on exposed dirty mattress. I ended up rolling myself up like a burrito with the comforter instead….I hope that was cleaned. Have you ever seen American Horror Story: Hotel season…that about summer this place up. It was very expensive for the quality which is my main complaint. I paid up front so had no options once I committed. I did complain about cleanliness to staff and unfortunately he just said sorry. Then charged me extra for cream in my coffee I also had to pay for as there are zero amnesties in the room .. yes, no coffee. I really hope they improve, because it is in a convenient location, not loud like in the middle of chiado, there could be potential.
