My husband and I were recently married at Santa Clara 1728. We reserved the entire hotel for the night and it was absolutely the best decision we made. The hotel itself is straight out of Architectural Digest--- design forward and completely gorgeous. Picture do not do the space justice. Beyond that, the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. From the marble bathtub to the thoughtful note left in our suite - everything about our stay was perfection. We cannot wait to visit again.

What can I say? This house is as close to perfect as one would hope. They advertise it as your home away from home but it’s far better than that. If your home was perfectly appointed and just the right amount of minimalistic, then you’d be home. Breakfasts and dinners at Ceia are delicious and thoughtfully constructed. Staff is attentive and extremely helpful. I didn’t even mind the lack of A/C in July because everything is so top notch. Would stay again in a heartbeat. xo!

Such a lovely and chic boutique hotel with 6 very stylish and minimalistic rooms! Our room was probably the best in the city with a great view of the ocean! The rooms are spacious and very well maintained and thought through. Breakfast is incredible with fresh ingredients from the farm of the hotel owner who is living on the uppest floor with his family. Highly recommend staying here if you get the chance 😊

The room is simply perfect! Lovely dinner and breakfast too. One small hiccup is that the glass door at the entrance which is supposedly never to be locked, was locked when I returned from dinner around 8pm. And I tried to call customer relation several times and no one picked up. Eventually some other guests happened to come down and opened the door for me.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Santa Clara 1728 in Lisbon, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience that exceeded all expectations. This boutique hotel truly stands out for its exceptional breathtaking design and serene ambiance. One of the standout features of Santa Clara 1728 is undoubtedly the stunning panoramic views of Lisbon. The rooftop terrace offers a breathtaking vantage point to take in the city's iconic sights, and it's the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely breakfast or a glass of wine as the sun sets over the Tagus River. My stay here was nothing short of magical, and I can't wait to return to this haven of tranquility on my next visit to Lisbon.

We absolutely ADORED our stay here. The environment is so welcoming, modern, simple and clean. The people are so warm, helpful, yet honest! We felt like we were among friends and were always surprised with little treats and special features unique to this place. The breakfasts were incredible! Thank you Madalina! We loved the location and the constant advice we were given by all the staff. It felt like such an immersive and relaxing experience. We cannot wait to come back!

We had an incredible stay at Santa Clara1728. As it was our first time in Portugal, we really appreciated all of the maps the Santa Clara team curated for guests to explore the different neighborhoods. Tanira and team provided us with plenty of recommendations from shopping, dining and sightseeing both prior to our arrival as well as during our stay. Though we didn’t have nearly enough time to do everything this trip, it only gives incentive to return and discover more gems around the country. We arranged for a private tour to Sintra, Cascais, etc (for the northern side of Portugal). Nuno was an absolute pleasure as he brought us around. The day was absolute perfection. He provided us with a lot of information along the way and kept us intrigued and eager to know more about the history of Portugal. We mostly used uber to get around in town when we weren't walking or using the Rails 28. The chefs made the most beautiful of spreads each morning. The display was as appetizing as the food was too! We only wish that we would’ve been able to indulge in the dinner at Ceia too. The room is an idyllic dream. The attention to detail provided us with so much peace and tranquility- wouldn’t even know we were in the middle of a city. The bed felt like a cloud, which made it difficult to want to leave to explore. The shower and bathtub are so gorgeous and really give the room such charm. We adored the handwritten notes and appreciated little treats left behind for us as well. We hope to return another time, maybe a different property to experience another side of the country.

Elegant, sophisticated luxury does not quite articulate our experience here. We did not feel as if we stayed in a hotel. We felt at home. Design strategy behind the silent living concept is brilliant, thoughtful and disruptive to a traditional luxury hotel model. Luxury is not always opulence. In fact, opulence is easier. Visual noise can hide flaws. Intentional design down to the details reflect Joao’s heart and soul. We left inspired in so many ways. Their restaurant recommendations were from a local perspective not born from a concierge relationship with an establishment. We had the most extraordinary culinary adventure and never felt like a tourist. The breakfast is another level. I had been intermittent fasting for months but I had to break it for their breakfast. Beautiful, crafted with love and the most amazing ways to cook eggs! It is across the street from the Santa Clara flea market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. A great cultural adventure.

This is hands down one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Every detail is curated to perfection. The property is beautiful, with a vibe that is calm, relaxing and friendly. The homemade breakfast was healthy and simply delicious. I can’t wait to visit again.

Better than the description and photos on the website. Top 3 hotel experiences in Europe. Definitely make dinner reservations at Ceia.
