And yes, the weights area is very very tiny and small if was up to me I would knock down the wall next to a studio and sacrifice a studio (they would still have a few) and make a proper sized gym with more machines and equipments. Then it would be 5 stars as the staff and the place they have all the numbers to be excellent but the size of the training area is exaggeratedly small for any gym.

It would be the best spa & social club in Lisbon if it weren’t for all the people trying to exercise. Don’t they know this isn’t a gym? They do their best to try and get rid of the exercise types: - The workout equipment is pretty old, and free weights are scarce. - The social space is super small and cramped to encourage socializing and discourage exercise. - The personal trainers do their best to keep the few stations they have occupied, as they chat the day away with their clients. - The rulebook was specifically written to aggravate people who take their fitness seriously, and the staff enforces it as selectively as possible. E.g.: you can’t use cardio equipment for longer than 15 minutes during peak hours. All of this to no avail, the social space is still filled with people trying to exercise for some reason. Very expensive & luxury gym but well worth it for that little bit extra. I bought a 3 day pass whilst on holiday for €45. Gym is equipped with plenty of machines, cables & racks. Dumbbells up to 40kg. But the use of the sauna, steam room & pool is fantastic and makes the pricey day passes worth it.

I'm a current member here. It's nice, always very tidy and the staff is quite friendly. Only issue is with the number of machines - quite limited for advanced workouts. Apart from that, I'm very happy that I signed up - used to be a member of Academia Life Club which was great on all aspects except for cleanliness. The Holmes Place club is more central and luxurious but Academia has WAY more machines. Something to think about if you are on the fence between the two.

Overpriced though (including for personal trainers whose fees seem outrageous to me (60+ euros for 2 ×30min sessions?). They offered a free postural evaluation for my birthday but I cannot get it because there is no room *sigh*(maybe think of that before offering the voucher? Or offer a date or another option?)...One staff there seemed annoyed that I was trying to book my nutrition evaluation meeting... which I will likely not do as I feel quite uncomfortable.
