At the very heart of beautiful Lisbon, this is very crowded plaza where you can find lots of shops, historical buildings, restaurants and city tour buses. It has a famous statue of former Dom Pedro I emperor, from 19th century. It's a very nice place for a short visit and then connect to many other places in downtown.

Praça da Figueira is a crowded, and a little run down, square that hosts an open air market and sports a statue of a king Joao I. Market prices are a bit on a high side and other than the statue the architecture is typical of Lisbon, that is tile covered plain tenement houses. All right for about a 15 min. stopover.

There's an impressive statue of King John I riding a horse. The plaza is large and had several vendors when I visited. Lots of taxis and tour guides are parked all around this square.

I went Portugal for 24 hours and covered almost everything through a taxi. Just watched the historic places from the outside.

Praça da Figueira is a square in downtown Lisbon, close to Praça de D. Pedro IV. Before the 1755 Earthquake, it was the site of the Hospital de Todos-os-Santos.

The Praça da Figueira is a large square in the centre of Lisbon. It is part of the Lisbon Baixa (the area of the city reurbanised after the 1755 Lisbon earthquake) and in 1971 a bronze equestrian statue representing King John I (1357–1433) was inaugurated in the square. From it you can move to different points of the city. You can find here tram stops (tram to Belém) and subway, besides being able to take tuk tuk, buses, trolleys.... You can also see the San Jorge Castle at the top of the hill. There are usually installed markets with typical meals.

(Translated by Google) A pandemonium with the number of tourists. Lisbon in general and Praça da Figueira in particular, totally out of character. The reference stores and of all time, disappeared, giving way to souvenir shops of the Chinese, restaurants and hotels, hostels and the like everywhere. One day when tourism slows down or Lisbon goes out of style, I want to see what they are going to do to that type of commerce. Who saw it and who saw it ... For me, zone to avoid (Original) Um pandemónio com o número de turistas. Quem a viu e quem a vê... Por mim, zona a evitar

Pretty cool meeting hub with plentiful access to cabs, metro and busses. A but dirty and loud, but at least vibrant in a way.

We did this as part of the free Rick Steves walk on his app. I probably wouldn't come here if I wasn't doing the Rick Steves walk but they have a ginjinha store here that I think was the first. There's also a church, it was just a pretty crowded square so we didn't stay long.

Obviously this remains a critical gathering place in the heart of Lisbon along the Tangus Riverfront. The size and scale are most impressive. In the future, I would hope that Portugal begins to honor its important women of the past as well as of the future, as time marches on.

This is a busy public square that sometimes hosts a market. If you visit when the market is running, it's a fantastic place. On the day that we went, there were many different vendors selling their wares. Lots of variety, from jewellery, to cork products (coin purses, wallets, etc.), cheeses, cured meats, nuts and candies, breads and pastries. In addition, there were several stalls that had freshly prepared foods to eat there, along with a sizeable eating area set up with tables and chairs. There was even live music playing. So a great place to spend an afternoon, as the atmosphere was very vibrant and lively. Aside from the market, the square serves as a transportation hub, as there are always tuk tuks and taxis readily available to take people wherever they may need, and there is a metro station under the square to connect to the subway lines. There are also plenty of historical buildings, shops, and cafes nearby.

A huge square that is lined with good restaurants and shops. The square is centered around an impressive statue and can be accessed through an ornate archway. Walking through the square will take you to the Tagus River where you can by a boat ticket.

Praca da Figueira is a nice square in the centre of Lisbon. It's kind of hard to miss as it's so central and also on the way to some notable Lisbon landmarks no matter which way you're headed. As with most European public squares, there a lot of cafes and restaurants with outdoor seating to enjoy the views, especially with the districts of Alfama and Penha Franca in the background.

At first I was a little impressed with how the streets were made, it is similar to cobblestones but very smooth, so I advise you to go with comfortable shoes, no heels.
