My partner and I entered CUF Tejo Emergency Unit at 21h17, it’s now 00h30, I’m a green code, I’ve been seen to, given a script and not assisted for my intense headache. My partner is a yellow code, he is still waiting after 3 hours. He came in with a fever of 40, and it fluctuates. They don’t do anything. They leave you to sit on the worlds most uncomfortable chairs with fever, and aches. NEVER AGAIN will I support this hospital group. We pay high private medical service yet can get better treatment in government. Absolutely unacceptable! Disgusting actually!

(Translated by Google) I think this move from hospitals to one was a terrible mistake. They don't warn us and we go to the closed buildings. Regarding this new hospital, I think it has been a circus caught. The employees' clothes look as if they were taken from a horror movie, then we have to go through the wing of the covid19 to climb the elevators and the boy who is there, poor protective suit, has it. Besides, the employees of the company are impeccable. I'm sorry if they get out of it, I think they are the ones who raise that. I find this cuf unfortunate. Lack of organization in the morning.

(Translated by Google) On October 15th he had an MRI scheduled for 11.50. I attended 30 minutes in advance and either at check-in or before the check-in was not communicated to me or alerted to prepare for the respective resonance. Conclusion, right at the beginning of the exam it was canceled. I had to wait another week to take the exam .... I was not apologized or created an alternative solution that same day despite assuming that there was a failure by the nurse who made the admission. This situation, which represents disregard and lack of professionalism on the part of Cuf Tejo, is unacceptable.

Having read many of the other reviews I was nervous about my visit to this hospital. There was no need. I was welcomed from the moment that I stepped in to the front door. I was early for the appointment and so the lady at the front door suggested that I might like to wait in the cafeteria downstairs. All this was in English which is my mother tongue and which makes it easier for me in strange situations. When the time came for the appointment I was speedily dealt with at reception on the ground floor. They referred me to the fourth floor reception where I was again welcomed and dealt with by a man who spoke wonderful English. I had a wait of less than five minutes in the waiting room before being called through for my tests which took about an hour. I was impressed with the professionalism of all the people with whom I came in contact. The cleanliness of all areas that I visited was superb. I cannot fault the staff or the surroundings into which I was welcomed.

I was pleasantly surprised after being scared to death when reading the reviews. Everyone spoke English, it’s probably the most modern hospital I have ever seen - even compared with the US or Germany. Technology was the latest and greatest as far as I could tell. Doctor was competent and friendly. In and out in 1 hour at 10pm at night. Good experience

(Translated by Google) Total confusion in that hospital. As soon as this building opened it was the biggest blunder of all. Employees come in impeccable, only the clothes are extremely ugly. This place is a total mess. I’ve visited several times during August and September after an accident and every time I had to wait about an hour. Last time there were so many people waiting that there was not even place to sit in the waiting room. Besides the wait, twice I came to appointments that had to be rescheduled a few days later, due to administrative errors. Of course they had no problem charging for the visits when I just came to waste my time. One of the doctors initially refused to provide the medical report for my insurance. I actually had to beg and apologize for the inconvenience of daring to demand her to do her job. Better just go to the public hospital and avoid giving your money to a company that has no respect for their customers.

Not sure why the reviews here are so bad. Visited the pediatrics department today to get my son (3yo) checked and had a great experience. Super fast service, extremely attentive nurses and doctor. And plus, very affordable given that this is a private hospital. Totally deserves 5 stars! Don’t hesitate to go here due to previous bad reviews (i almost did). It really is quite good!

(Translated by Google) I will start by praising the sympathy, humanity and affection that nurses and health professionals had towards my husband, being he at risk for having diabetes and hypertension, in an operation at 7:00 pm although he was in an outpatient clinic under general anesthesia, which requires more care. So far everything has 5 stars, doctor, nurses, all health professionals. However, I have to mention that in terms of support services for family members and even the patient himself, he fell far short of what would be expected from a new hospital. In addition to not being able to follow him (COVID's fault) they gave me a phone number to have information on how the operation went, which line closed at 8pm. There is no more contact. We stayed in the dark, without news. It was the husband who called to ask to pick him up. The elevators were not working which meant that he had to come up the stairs almost without being able to walk and without any accompaniment, were it not for a nurse who also came up the stairs and helped him and as if that were not enough, he had to wait on the street outside the door , that I arrived. Unbelievable and I have no words to describe how a new hospital is being run. Shameful. Vergonhoso.

I agree with the five-star reviews! Although not all of the staff speak English at the receptionists, there is always someone who speaks English. Their system is very sophisticated. If you don't understand their system or wait a long time, simply ask them! They kindly help you. My first ER visit on Sunday was 42€ without any insurance deduction, and the medication for 20 days was 4.99€. It took less than one hour from the check-in to the payment. They are a private hospital. I will come back here if I need to see a doctor. No complaints at all.

Went to emergency, a little nervous due to the reviews. If you're like us and don't know where to go if you're foreign, this was definitely the right choice. They spoke English and got us through in a timely manner. Since it is a privately owned hospital it will cost to see a doctor (~100 minimum) but the experience was efficient and we recieved the treatment we needed.

I came with problems in the lungs. I had a fever for a few days before. After wheezing, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat. The doctor Cepeda Ribeiro asked me not to take off the mask, listened to my breathing and prescribed XRay. the next day I took the test, but the test results were given to me only after 5 days!! although my problem was acute. 5 days is a lot. but they promised to send me pictures to my mail -they never send it to me, because at the reception my email was indicated incorrectly, with errors. well, I came on the appointed day - the doctor said that my lungs in the picture are okay. and asked if something was bothering me now. I said, that I have a pain in the throat. he did not check it, he began to print the name of the medicine that I needed - PARACETAMOL! Are you seriously? ???? I am not a doctor, but even I understand that this is not what is needed for my problem. he also did not examine me. and said: for now, I can’t help you with anything else. I went to the reception, told my situation and asked: why should I pay 38€?? I was not checked and prescribed idiotic treatment. refer me to a normal doctor. but they said they couldn't help. that this doctor is a lung specialist. and with problems in a throat - it is necessary to go to other doctor. ok, why is he prescribing this treatment then? Why doesn't he refer me to another specialist? I'm shocked!!!

Very unprofessional, deceitful and fraudulent private hospital, I went there for an emergency that required X-Rays - repeatedly asked the price for this and then received an invoice for double the amount I was told at the time. This was the second time they lied to me about their pricing - they previously tripled the price they told me a surgery would cost and told me literally before I was about to enter surgery, leaving me little choice but to accept. I also heard from a Portuguese friend who works in their accounting department that they deliberately over charge foreigners. Do not be trust however desperate you are for treatment. Crooks

Good care, but incredibly disorganized hospital. I've experienced everything from doctors being over 1 hour late, appointments being rescheduled without warning, exams being lost, appointment requests never being returned, and prescriptions not being renewed. I already brace myself that any time I need to do something at CUF I'll have to be calling them a bunch of times to get things resolved. If this hospital got its act together and was more organized, it would be 5 stars.

If you don’t speak Portuguese you will have a lot of issues with the hospital. They schedule appointments without asking, when they do call to ask and you don’t speak Portuguese they just hang up the phone and do some random schedulings. When you go to the hospital directly to the administration to figure out what is going on, they don’t even bother to find a person who would be able to talk to you. It’s frustrating. I have a surgery scheduled and I’m afraid they will mess up something else. To learn to speak proper Portuguese for me will take a lot of time. I will even probably leave the country by that time, so for now the services they provide is not suitable for me. I would rather go to my country to do the surgery and will pay money there. I’m sure I’m not the only one. If the hospital wants to target foreigners as well, it has to do something about it.

I waited for 1h40min for an appointment and it got to the point where they wait was ridiculous, I had already had to cancel my next thing, and felt absolutely frustrated for coming all the way for a consultation, waiting so long to then desist as I don’t have more life to lose on this. The only reason I don’t give it 1 star is that the receptionist was nice and helpful and that the check in was easy. I don’t plan on going to CUF for help ever again.

CUF is new and clean, and the doctors are lovely. But so what if it is completely ineffective? There is a massive problem with the ER. The triage system is effective, but that's where it ends. I have been there twice before 10am on both a weekday and weekend and it's clear they don't roster on anymore than one doctor. So the admin staff admit you, take payment of 110EU, triage nurses categorise and then tell you to wait for the doctor to call. The problem is, there is no doctor rostered on and when you query any of this, the staff say they don't know, can't tell you wait times and generally it's not their department. It means you have to wait hours to see a doctor, even if there are very few people also waiting. It's is utterly ridiculous. They are measuring their performance time based on admittance to triage, and ignore the rest. You may as well go to the public hospital, because it is staffed properly and you will likely be seen sooner. It may not be fancy, but it actually runs properly and they don't waste your time. Further, I also had a dr prescribe me a medication to which I was allergic (he knew) and it's only because I asked the nurse what she was administering, that I managed to stop it.

Their digital experience is awesome. I can come into the parking lot and pay with via verde (no papers). While still in the parking lot I can check in, before entering the hospital itself. The machines give you direction on which floor should I wait for my appointment. I can ask for the ticket number to be sent to my phone through an SMS instead of having an actual ticket. Every time I had an appointment, I waited less than 10 minutes to be called. All the exams I did there went straight to their app, which I can access. Payments can be done through card and everything in terms of next steps (invoicing, prescriptions and feature exams) is either given to me through email or through their app.

(Translated by Google) I went into this hospital to have spine surgery. As the current procedures say, I went into the hospital alone and went through all the procedures until the surgery alone. I must emphasize the calm and friendliness of all the professionals who followed and followed me. Always attentive to what I needed at all times. I remember the horrible pains I felt when I woke up and I was always accompanied and constantly being medicated. I never lacked support. At a time when patients have to be alone in the hospital, this is the first step for everything to go well. I also emphasize that both in the recovery and in the infirmary, when I asked them to call my husband, they did it right away. It was more difficult for him, as he spent hours calling the hospital to no avail. The central / general number does not work at all for these situations. They should study better a way to be able to attend the relatives of hospitalized people, since the current pandemic situation does not allow companions in the hospital. Nunca me faltou apoio.

I woke up in the middle of the night with a kidney stone. I was on my first day of holiday and knew no Portuguese and was worried about going to a foreign hospital. All of the staff was amazing, explaining the process and lucking all knowing how to speak English very well. The nurses, doctors, and technicians were all amazing. We had a great laugh when one technician was asking, “Your Weight?” but it come out “You’re White?” I kept replying yes and she couldn’t understand why I wasn’t replying with numbers. Another technician explained why we were not understanding each other. LOL. It is the only time I actually enjoyed being in an ER. The doctor was get with getting me something quickly to get rid of the pain. Everything was nice and very clean. This place is highly recommend.

It’s a new building. And that’s it! But it is a tragic disaster in organizational and managerial skills. They send you to wait in different room than you should be sitting. Don’t think your private (super expensive!!) insurance will cover anything here. Make sure you double check it before using services. I’ve used twice for minor things and both times it wasn’t covered. Just like with most things in Portugal: Better you don’t have to engage with them. Sad!

Waiting for hours to hear “you need to take a covid test” and was sent home? Which, according to the doctor, was supposed to be free of charge yet I was charged for ridiculous things that weren’t performed, plus the free covid test. Went home sick without diagnosis and recommendations of what I should be doing. Sent an email, nobody got back to me, but, they are very fast at sending invoices! Disgusting service.

The absolute worst hospital experience of my life. Rude, condescending doctors with not one ounce of empathy, especially if you are a foreigner. Also, the ticket system with all the different rooms is an operations embarrassment. Find a other hospital and don’t waste your time here.

We visited ER in 6th December with my wife, we got basic food poisoning treatment, it took around 1000€ for both of us, then I asked for doctor’s report to give it to my insurance company for compensation, I sent an email also had a phone call, still no answer, they are playing dead. I do not recommend going this hospital unless you are about to die and passing near this hospital.

Waiting for 2 hours for a 5-minute visit without getting the expected X-ray, despite having medical insurance, doesn't reflect the quality of care one would hope for. The significant wait time and limited consultation duration for a considerable fee seem disappointing and not aligned with reasonable expectations for healthcare services.

I am absolutely AMAZED at the service that I received at CUF Tejo! I generally avoid the doctor's office (most of my life) because I've had bad experiences. But I had an issue and needed to see someone. They made a same day appointment, I checked in, within 5 minutes they assigned me to a doctor- Dr. Maria Teresa Guerra- who was lovely, professional, kind, knowledgeable and thorough. She didn't make me feel like I was overreacting, she made the necessary recommendations for testing, and then I walked out- and was able to get the tests done right away. She also helped me make another appointment 2 days later with Dr. Ana Cristina Lourenço. I had the same efficient, experience with check-in, and had no wait to see the doctor. She also was professional, thorough, kind, and very knowledgable. In fact- my experience with Cuf Tejo and these 2 doctors- was the best medical experience I have ever had. I am very grateful for CUF!

this hospital is dysfunctional when it comes to follow up. i have been chasing test results for weeks as they were not uploaded on their, also dysfunctional app. The call center attendants can do nothing but send an "urgent request" which no one but the patient follows up on. This issue happened twice in a row with the same exact helpless call centre attendants.

Nice parking and organisation of this hospital. But some of administrators just surprised me, when I ask the question, one girl looked at me and turned her head to colleagues and did “strange face” with sound “eh?”, I thought I ask some stupid question but then I realised she just didn’t speak English. (No problem, I could ask another administrator but the reaction was like in teenager school and disrespectful) - in conclusion I received 3 different responses by doctor and 2 different administrators. Then I do not recommend to do mammograms there, I didn’t receive any answers by the doctor for my simple questions (for ~200€)- level is low, I need to go to another doctor who can explain. Woman who did to me 3d mammograms - definitely I understand comments below about very rough relation to the patients. (That’s what I experienced as well). I’ll not come back :(

My husband and I have been going to CUF Tejo since they opened the new facility. We are Americans and the care we have received there far exceeds the care we received in California. The staff is helpful, the doctors are extremely knowledgeable and the facility is state-of-the-art. The administration can sometime fall a little short, e.g., billing, the CUF app. etc. but the quality of care more than makes up for it. Also, you will have no trouble finding doctors who speak English. We are very thankful to have such a great facility available to us.

A family member just had his coronary bypass surgery. Prof Fragata is wonderful. He is caring, attentive and responsible. He called a couple of times to update me on the outcome of the surgery. Prior to the surgery, we met an excellent reception staff who went out of her way to schedule two urgent MRIs, for an unrelated grave medical condition, the following day when she realised that it must be done prior to the coronary bypass surgery. The nurses in the intensive care and general ward are also attentive and caring. Thank you all for your care.

I’ve been waiting for almost 3 weeks for an MRI report. I have gone up to the hospital to request it, I have checked MyCUF every day, and I have emailed multiple times. This is ridiculous. I need this report for a surgical procedure! I’ve told them this many times. It’s semi-urgent because I AM in pain but they do not care and take even longer. If this was a true emergency, I’d be dead. I’d hate to have to go to the emergency room there. I don’t know what to do anymore.

Horrible experience with Opthalmology. I was asked to come back two weeks after my original appointment for a check-up. Waited 2 hours late afternoon without ever having an exam. As the doctor was walking out with her coat on, I asked about our appointment. Clearly she'd forgotten me and the receptionist never told her I was waiting. The doctor did have the nerve to ask if she could see me again. (And wait another two hours?)

They performed the surgery well. But was too expensive, they took far too long for a private hospital and they didn't explain costs. I cannot dispute the charges without making an account but I can only make an account by going in person. Not sure if it would be better than a public hospital in most countries

Poor service and the doctors don’t seem to care about the patient. I went through 6 different psychiatrists in different CUFs and no one seem to care, they just want to get rid of the patient as soon as possible. No empathy at all. It’s crazy how someone does psychiatry and don’t want to help people that really need it.

It’s the perfect hospital if you don’t mind waiting or if your A&E emergency is not an emergency at all. At A&E the laziness and careless of the service starts on the triage. Blood pressure at 19/10, heart beat at 125, vomited blood, lack of air, chest and stomach pain and the nurse gives a yellow bracelet. This is a trick so they don’t have to Work or rush themselves. The waiting room is empty- and usually is empty- because nobody trusts their service. After almost 1 hour waiting in the waiting room I ask a nurse for help. He says the only thing he can do is take me to the observation room to be closer to him. After almost 30 minutes waiting for a doctor and listening to the service doctors and nurses talking about their breakfast and clothes for the New Year’s Eve I ask when I’m going to be seen. The nurse answered that in that room they can’t see that and that I had to wait outside in the waiting room . When I got there my number had already been called and the doctor was answering two numbers up… The list could go on with the attitude of staff, the nurses that are rude and careless, the doctors that are there clearly just to make money and couldn’t care less about helping you… If you have time to waste and a minor emergency that is not suspected life threatening it’s a nice place to go, if you really need help avoid at all costs. Best thing- f you don’t pay the bill outside ten minutes later it will be on your email. THAT is the only effective thing on their service.

It was the first and last time I come to CUF. The despicable experience I had simply shames a hospital that claims to be a high-level medical center. The story goes like this: Two weeks ago I called to make an appointment for a breast ultrasound that I am being asked to do as part of the fertility treatments I am undergoing. In the phone call I emphasized that I wish to perform this test only, and the nice clerk approved the request and made an appointment for me the following week. When I arrived at Cuf Tejo, the clerk claimed that I cannot have a breast ultrasound only, and that I must also undergo a mammogram. I emphasized that I had already performed this test in my home country about 11 months ago, my doctor has the results and that I do not intend to go through this painful test again. The clerk did not speak English well so the security man came to talk to me. His breath smelled bad from alcohol and he explained again that this doctor is not willing to perform the ultrasound but only both tests together. I was very upset and asked why they made an appointment for me if this was the policy of that doctor?! I live about an hour and a half from Lisbon, I missed a day of work to get to this hospital specifically to do the test, not to mention the heavy traffic that I had to go through that day and in the end I didn't go in. This doctor wasn't ready to see me even though I had an appointment. Perhaps this doctor gets a lot more money when he performs both tests. It was a waste of an entire day and such a terrible experience. What a disgrace CUF Hospital.

I was sent to the wrong hospital and then was late to the appointment. They had previously mixed up my appointment time and had booked it for the day before I arrived which wasted ten Euros on a taxi fare. After I got to the right place they said everything will be fine but by then the doctor was in a rush barely spending 30 seconds examining me and then sent me for an x ray. After the x ray I had to find my own way back to the reception as there was no direction. Again everything was done in a rush with little sympathy. When I spoke again to the consultant he gave me the shortest of time to inform me about what to do. In fact he was wrong and I had to pay for another consultation, but this time I went to another hospital which was much better. I would expect much more from a private hospital ,this place looks like a train station with passengers waiting for a late train. I would not trust to go again.
