    As a new arrival in Portugal, I needed to get my SNS number at my neighborhood health center. I read the horrible reviews here so braced myself for rudeness and possibly hours of waiting. I arrived a few minutes after it opened, at 8h, and five people were already in line. When it was my turn, I let a kindly older lady go first, only to watch the bureaucrat at the check-in desk yell at her for minutes for allegedly failing to follow some unknown protocol in making her appointment. His incivility seemed to confirm the very worse of the reviews on here. But luckily when I got to the front of the line, I was told that the process for requesting SNS numbers is currently being handled by email due to the pandemic (at least for Lisbon). The instructions are in the photo posted with this review. So in the end, my visit was harmless and speedy, although I’m not exactly looking forward to the next one.

    The only reason I am giving two stars is that when I registered at the centre, the woman at the counter was very helpful, although the process itself was difficult. However, this centre is an absolute mess. Long queues all the time. I waited for a long time this morning (and even witnessed security breaking up a fight between a doctor and a patient while I was waiting in the queue!) and I managed to get to the desk. I have tonsilitis and all I needed was to visit a doctor to get a prescription for antibiotics. Being already registered as a patient of this centre, I asked for an appointment and they gave me one for TWO MONTHS from now. Primary care seems to be inaccessible. They were telling people "just go to the hospital if you need to see someone today", which will probably just result of lots of non-emergency cases filling up emergency rooms and waiting for hours on end. Something is seriously broken in the healthcare system here. I pay my taxes here (and was speaking Portuguese through the whole process), and yet I will now have to go and pay for a private clinic when I really can't afford it. Absolute joke.

    Absolutely abysmal patient care. I was discharged from hospital to the care of USCP Lapa and told I would be contacted for an appointment. Two months later and no effort to contact me was made. I then received an urgent referral through SNS24 and told I’d be contacted in 24 hours. Again, nothing. I went in person as instructed and was again sent home and told to return the next day. Went back and queued to finally be seen by a doctor. All non-clinical staff were extremely rude. Happily the doctor I saw was as helpful as she could be under the circumstances.

    Racist reception staff (Sara Gonçalves and another person who didn't had a name tag), started calling me names and make insulting comments on my country of origin, just because I don't speak Portuguese yet even though I am a citizen of this country due to heritage and eligible for service as part of the public healthcare system. The doctor and nurse were fine and treated me well, but I wouldn't recommend anyone going there. Shame to deal with people at the age of my parents who behave like 16 years old and insisting on not doing their job properly, very embarrassing and unprofessional.

    The worst service ever. There is absolutely no coordination in taking appointments. You take an appointment for a baby vaccination you get a consultation instead. Although the doctor was very good, the nurse was not. Go to CUF for your vaccinations.

    My wife is pregnant. We went there 6 times when ever we went we were said come other day, they are being racist and not trying to help us out. Nobody wants to give appointment. We pay taxes in the country but we are not getting any help. This is the worst place to visit.

    If there was an option to give negative stars, this would be my review. WORST SERVICE on the Earth. Its extraordinary how poor the customer service is in this centre. Out right rude, no solutions provided, not allowing our family to register with their centre. I went on a sunday and was turned away saying it was only open for emergencies. LAZY public servants. Disappointed at how broken the health system is when my family pay social security taxes If you have an option, go to another centre

    I tried to get an emergency appointment on 10/21/2023 at this Health Unit and was informed that no doctor had shown up for work today. Unfortunately, we are forced to overload the Hospital Emergency Department. They are ruining the SNS!!! Let someone bring order to the "tent" because one day the bubble will burst!!!

    Worst experience ever. I had a simple request since they wrote my name wrong on the Covid certificate and they yelled at me abs treated me with total disrespect. Most unfriendly staff I have ever experienced in my life. Situation was not resolved. They simply do not care

    0 Stars! 2 years and 2 months to get an appointment. We even totally forgot after so long time. And on the phone she was even in a bad mood/bossy (like if they are doing you a big favor). Really I don't understand how can we trust our health to this system.

    The center is in a very nice and somewhat hidden street. I really like the melancholic mood of the garden and old fashionedness of its building. The secrateries were all friendly to me. The doorman takes his job very seriously and he is very responsible. I speak somewhat portuguese so I didnt have any problems. But I saw that they werent really helping a foriegner woman who didnt speak any portuguese. They didnt want to give her a day appointment and were sending her to the urgent care, since she wasnt registerd in the center. This I didnt like to see. I think they should have made it possible for her to see a doctor there since she was already there.

    For registration and if you are interested in someone responsible: 3 days, 23/24 and 25/10, trying to contact the Center by phone, at different times, 5/6 times a day, without success! Online booking unavailable....I personally went to the center and after an hour and a half of waiting, I would exceptionally have an appointment with my family doctor on December 19th!!! No more comments...

    A highly professional, efficient, and effective health centre: emails are answered promptly and helpfully; making an appointment online is simple; reception staff are polite and informed - in português and inglês when necessary. My doctor and the nursing staff are the best. The centre has a high workload and will always need more resources. However, they work hard to do their best for the patients with what they have. This health centre has been transformed in the past year. Previously, the service was chaotic and inefficient. The administrative staff were stressed and were therefore rude and deliberately unhelpful. All credit goes to the staff and managers who have led this change. Thank you.

    Impressed. The reception greets you with bad humor, we have to explain more than once what we came to do, really terrible service. They told me to arrive at 1:30pm for an emergency appointment and at the counter they told me that the appointment would be at 3pm. It didn't even deserve one star.

    Without resident card they dot allow I think this is not normal. When some one have social number they have to get every service's. But they say we must have resident card. If I am wrong please suggest me.

    The doctor screamed at me because i didn't speak Portugese. I just moved here a month ago. She kept saying are we in England? Are we in England? She said that she was the doctor and i was a patient so i should just learn the language to communicate. She was very mean and disrespectful

    Absolutely horrible and aggressive staff. Came in with a newborn just to be offended. I was so shocked that i left without doing any tests. I did not feel comfortable to let them do any tests or checks on my child. Most horrific medical experience i have ever had. This place should be shut down!

    I live in Lapa area .. my father is 75 yes old he has problem of suffocation.. I went here two times to make utente number.. they refused to make .. the lady in the counter is rude.. she behaved rudely.. why it’s happening in lapa ??? Need to look after these staff..health minister Portugal needs to look for this

    If I could I would give zero stars! Horrible experiences, non-medical staff (with the exception of the guard) super rude, arrogant and disrespectful towards people. Especially a receptionist whose name I don't know because she didn't have the courage to tell me: glasses, gray hair and an arrogant tone of voice right from the start of the conversation, a woman with a frustrated attitude who allows herself to insult people by treating them like stupid, and saying false (he said he had no way of booking my visit before a month and a half, but a colleague of his did so two days later). She mostly refused to speak in English, kept complaining in a low voice, and refused to give me the complaint paper. A unique shame. The telephone is continually ignored, causing significant inconvenience to patients, and making the Center more crowded than necessary. This center should close. Some doctors are saved, but the others treat you as if they wanted to do nothing but go home as soon as possible, and if you even arrive just 10 minutes late with a justified cause they refuse to visit you, postponing the visit until almost three months later! Worse than third world countries.

    Very bad. We came in the afternoon, they asked to come back at 8h00 next day, no need appointment. We arrived at 8h00, they asked to wait until 11h00. And now, at 11h00 they asked to wait until 11h30…. We don’t know when we can see the doctor. The man at the door is quite good, helpful and is very good in English
