City Sightseeing Lisbon

Establishment service ā€¢ Tour operator

šŸ˜  I've been on City Sightseeing tours all over the world and Lisbon is by far the worst. Almost no narration so I learned nothing about the city, no announcements for stops, and the driver of our tour decided to cut out the Belem part of the route without any warning. I would advise using a different... People often mention tour, time, audio, buses, stop, good, minutes, hour, line, stops,

Need to print ticket, welcome to 1992. They scan tickets digitally anyway, the only reason they need you to print it is that they hope a small percentage will not show up because of it or forget to print. Scummy business tactics.

The price is nice and the ticket is valid for 48hrs which is nice. The guide is in many languages and is helpful... But the connectors for the earphones don't work most of the time (at least a third of them are broken) and on many occasions we waited more than 30 min for the next bus (40-50 min) while they promote a 30 min frequency... All in all is a good way to explore the city.

This is by far the worst Reb bus tour I have ever experienced. At the booth we were told that there is a bus every 30 minutes and that there are three lines operating. So figured that between the three lines there should be a bus every 15-20 min - wrong What they donā€™t tell you is that itā€™s very 1 hour per line so when there are two lines operating on some stops it averages at 30 minutes. Despite this we waited for 55 minutes for a bus at one of the stops. In the mean time there were 3 yellow hop on off busses that came past - will try them next time. Despite the frequency and the age of the busses - the commentary was atrocious. 85% of the time they played music on a continuous loop and the commentary what very ā€œspecific factsā€ this is a build x which was built in yyyy,,,, Lisbon has so much history that they could have filled a 4 hour journey but alas. Save your money, hire a tuk tuk or a local guide instead - really really really bad.

The low rating on here is quite appropriate. There are too few buses for the numbers of passengers they have, meaning that you will spend hours waiting due to full or delayed buses. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY - Shocking tour, 95% of the tour was listening to bad music, the other 5% were short little automated messages that were very average, very disappointing, 27 euro each is an absolute scam for a mere bus ride, you cannot call this a ā€˜tourā€™ my god, nobody knew where we were, what stop we were at, people missed stops. Cannot believe what a waste of money this was.

Recommend avoiding City Sightseeing. Iā€™d give zero stars if this was an option. Poor driving, terrible narration, lazy unhelpful staff and buses that never seem to show. While waiting for them to show up at the Jeronimos Monastery, two Gray Line buses see came in the time we were waiting. Appalling.

Bad experience with the service, in the off season really doesn't worth the money. Old busses, not informative at all. Good to use only for the transport but very expensive for the service. Better use the other tours. For my trip was a big mistake.

48hr w/ boat ride: Some of my family has a hard time walking so this was a really nice option for us to see the city and take some photos. Can't comment on the audio because we didn't use it (talked amongst ourselves) but overall, the bosses were on time, clean, and helpful for our needs. Loved the boat ride! Worth the price for that and transportation, for sure.

There are a lot of seats without audio, and for the ones that work, the audio quality is super bad. On the blue line, you have to wait an hour for the bus, not the 30 minutes the sales people tell you. There is no announcement of the bus stop numbers, and they skip bus stops, making orientation extremely difficult. Super unhelpful chauffeur who neglected to mention that the winery he dropped us off at was closed for lunch. Would not recommend.

Terrible terrible tour. The whole trip was 2 hours and about 6 minutes of the whole tour was audio about the sights and the rest was bad music. Was such a waste of ā‚¬27. It was also terrible how at each stop they didnā€™t say what number stop it was, that should 100% be part of the audio. The 6 minutes of information that was shared was out of date and often not even in time with the landmark or view we should be seeing. Everyone on the bus all said where are we and what part are they talking about over the audio as it was so our of time. The information was not in depth at all, it mentioned very broad topics within building and gave no examples. Iā€™m hugely disappointed in this and I highly recommend not doing this tour.

Use another company. Two hours between buses doesnā€™t work. Audio tour is 95% music. Very little narration. So disappointing. There were points of interest passed by with not a word

Lots of waiting around, buses are old with audio that often doesn't work. Staff were really nice. The streets are bumpy so you get thrown around a lot. On our tour there was an altercation with a guy that tried to cut off the bus and lost. The guy in the car was a psycho but our bus driver handled the situation with class. There was no damage and the other guy was at fault. Overall I wouldn't do this tour again. Grayline seemed more frequent.

Remarkably unhelpful operators. Unlike their competitors with Gray line their audio doesnā€™t announce bus stop numbers so itā€™s easy to miss. If you lose your paper ticket they have no way to reissue it - the want you to buy another, and they wonā€™t accept it if you try to use a photo of your ticket (I always take photos of tickets and passes in case the paper gets lost or ruined in a pocket) which is what happened in my case.

I purchased the city-sightseeing tour around Lisbon on the 05 September 2022. The tour operator ASSURED US that the red bus line runs every 30 minutes, which isnā€™t true as they run every hour. After 'hopping off' far from the centre, we had to wait an hour for the next bus to arrive. The bus drivers were not good drivers, they would accelerate rapidly and then slam the brakes, on meaning I had to constantly brace myself for the constant traffic and red light stops around Lisbon. The audio descriptions of the buildings were sparse and non-existent so I had no idea what I was looking at half the time. There was no history or running commentary. Lisbon is simply an awful city to do a driving tour around as it's so congested, full of narrow roads and traffic lights. The tour was not an enjoyable experience whatsoever and I feel I have been ripped off with the price, therefore I have asked for my money back several times. The company keep fobbing me off with ā€˜weā€™ll reach out to the Portugal branch for commentā€™.

Quick tip. Donā€™t go with this company! There are other two better. This one has old buses, the phones do not work properly, and you need to wait about 1 hour for the buses to arrive.

The busses of citysightseeing Portugal / Lissabon are old, the guided earplug tour consists of 90% music play and the last 10% are superficial information. We waited for 45 min on a station where normally 2 busses stop. A shame that this tour has the name official in it.

Very good idea in doing sightseeing in Portugal šŸ‡µšŸ‡¹ friendly people. Great culture . As I live arts then it is a great place to experience it.

This review applies only to the Porto tour bus Horrible job on the descriptions. They use a pre-recorded audio recording to narrate the sites. However there is no description of the building or sure you're going to look at, and the descriptions often begin way before the building is in sight, so you have no idea what they're talking about. Also, when the narrative it's not speaking, they play local music that is so loud that you cannot talk to your companions without taking the headphones off, which then puts you at risk for missing the next narrative. The bright side is the busses are clean and comfortable, and drive at a good pace for sight seeing. However, when sitting on the upper deck, be prepared for the small of diesel exhaust!

I spent almost two hours waiting for the bus. Then the audio guide didn't work for ages. The last bus is 1745. By the time you've waited, the day is gone. Wouldn't be so bad if they put trackers on the bus and you knew when the bus was coming. It wouldn't be difficult with today's technology. A rotten experience. Don't do it. Just use local buses.

Worst sightseeing Bus. Red line should pic up ever 30 min actually we had to weit more than 1 h The Audio devises on the Bus almost not working. We tried 4 places at the Bus. At the purple line also no Audio worked. The busses are old and not in good conditions. At least the price is good. 25 EUR per person for 2 days and 3 lines included.

Overall good experience if you read the reviews first and would not hop off on the stations. We came early to the first stop (I think to the time of second or third bus) and have good places. However, on the middle stops the bus was completely full. The disappointing point was that they offered a 10% discount if you have tickets from CitySightseeing Porto, but we can not get it. The girl who sailed the tickets said that we should go to the ticket center extra, where the line was huge. Certainly, we decided to forego the discount and spend time on a tour instead of standing in line. I believe that it is unfair for a company to promise a discount and then arrange additional conditions for receiving it.

With City Sightseeing I really had one of the most cost-effective and certainly the most convenient way to move a around in Lisboa... The personal was very simpatic and very well organized. I had a very nice experience and if will be back in Lisboa definetly IĀ“ll do it again with pleasure.

Nice routes, but the bus times are the most unreliable thing ever!!! sometimes in 30 mins, sometimes in 50, sometimes over an hour. its an absolute joke! would recommend other tour companies, like yellow bus instead. also the headphone jack was broken in most seats

Purchased our tickets near stop 17 and hopped on the bus at about 10:30. Views were fine from the top as we made our meandering way to Torre Belem. Got off here and made use of the attraction. Come time to get the bus again I spotted the bus coming and jogged to the stop. Got there ahead of the rest of my family and asked the driver if he was waiting a minute. "No, I leave now" was the surly reply. He drove off just as my family arrived. The fact is he had only had to wait for 4 or 5 people to disembark so could have spared literally 30 seconds to let my family catch up. OK, so the buses run every 20-30 minutes, right? Nope. We had to wait just short of an hour for the next one. Given how expensive the tickets are, this was a very poor experience. Try a different service or get the Lisbon card for public transport.
