Do yourself a few favors and stop here. #1 Get a 24-hour metro pass if you're site-seeing and catch the included Tram 28 going up the hill. #2 Stop at Portas do Sol for this free outlook - amazing panorama of Lisbon and the inlet. #3 If you're going to the castle, you can walk up the rest of the way and enjoy some of the old, narrow streets of the old city. You might even catch a song from a balcony. #4 Easily walk back down the hill to visit some of the other sites.

Great view for the sunrise. During the day it gets very crowded but in the morning only a few people go and you can take some great pictures or enjoy the view in the morning. I even witnessed a couple getting eloped here which was hilarous and wholesome. Definetly worth visiting when in the area, its a highlight for every trip!

Free view over the red rooftops of Lisbon and out to the river. Very popular, lots of people in the afternoon. Guys hustling and buskers performing. Pro tip: take the small stairs up a level and enjoy a beverage and some food in the small bar away from the crowd, under the bougainvillea, and killer view.

Just love the views from this place. Located in Alfama, it is a trek uphill but so worth it. We walked up to it one day and another time got tram 28 from Baixa and got down here to look at both the scenic spots. The views are fantastic. A must see place in my opinion

Gorgeous free view over Lisbon! Heads up, it does get crowded and is in direct sun, but the view is great! This is the place to get photos and admire the view for several minutes, then get out of the crowd. If you want to stay a bit longer to enjoy the view I recommend the Miradouro de Santa Luzia right around the corner, the several times we were in this area it was a bit less crowded and we got to stay under the pergola to be out of the sun. I will say that although I prefer that spot better, the view here is better and you get more of a panoramic over the orange roofs of Lisbon!

No tickets needed. View was incredible but unfortunately it was raining so the photos my not be that clear. There are many cafe and restaurants so you can enjoy a nice drink with this view.

Just right beside Miradouro Santa Luzia, it is another scenic view point of Lisbon, Portugal. Also very beautiful. Beautiful spot to see sunrises. There’s also a coffee shop if you would like to have a drink and enjoy the view. Tram 28 passes right in front of this Miradouro.

Gorgeous, sweeping views from here. If you're in the lower part of town (or coming off a cruise ship) I recommend you take the free elevators up to the castle area and then wander your way down to this area for some photos.

Excellent view over the river! Right now there is a small market, for all your memorabilia, and besides a massage spot right there! Its so relaxing to make a break in visiting the city and recover energy :) And cheap!

Brilliant area! Showed it to my family and they all loved it! Definitely visit Sol restaurant outside, with a super nice chill area. I recommend taking tuk tuk to get up the hill! Save your powers for a walk to the castle. Always agree price before getting in, usually €5/person! Another must see in Lisbon! ❤️

It's a nice viewpoint, but you cannot see that much from this Mirador, at least at night. The area is cozy, next to a church, beautiful architecture. Tram goes next to the Mirador and there are places to eat.

Go there! Several times if you can! We walked the hill on our first day in Lisbon and were amazed. We went back every opportunity after that. Stop, have a beer, and enjoy the view.

I like this view point. It is the end station of famous tram 28. We came at night (No people), and later in the evening ,(crowded but the light was great) After you take the tram or enjoy walking down the small streets in direction to Lisbon Cathedral and watch azulejos decorations on the houses.

Stunning place in Lisbon - mandatory visit during sunset. I went there on Saturday afternoon. It was slightly crowded for a foggy day but still... such pretty views! If you struggle to walk steep streets up for some time you can also hire a bike, similar to the “tuk tuks” in Asia.

Busy in the daytime, lots of tourists and plenty to eat/drink in the area, exceptional views.... Then..... get up early one morning, arrive just before sunrise for a piece of magic. A few other people, but it doesn't matter, the moment is yours. Absolutely stunning. You can then jump on the first No28 tram and have it to yourself for an early morning tour.

If you come to Lisbon, make a visit to Alfama (one of the oldest districts) your priority. You will find the soul of old Portugal and its image preserved there. Alfama by night and day with fado and wine. Unforgettable.

From my Hostel I had a bit of a hike up to this location, but it is also accessible through many forms of local transport. There is a bar and restaurants open from 10am to about Midnight, but I was more interested in being there for the sunrise. From this location you get an excellent eastern facing view that includes not only the water, but a vast view of the Alfama district. It was not very busy when I went, a couple love birds enjoying the view and some photographers as well. I would highly recommend getting there for a sunrise before you leave Lisbon.

From Miradouro Portas do Sol you have, let's say limited views. It is in the lower part of Alfama hill. You cannot see the city center as this lookout is oriented to the northeast - towards National Pantheon and St. Vincent de Fora Church and Monastery. However, we enjoyed the atmosphere as there was a live band playing before sunset. Opposite the Miradouro is the tram 28 stop to take you further exploring.

  • 5/5 Olúwatóyọ̀sí A. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely amazing. The dimensional view gives you the spot on the roofs, the river and surrounding restaurants, shops and passing trams. Its a place to relax, have a few drinks and it can take you to Alfam, miradouro Sophia de Mello Breyner Andreson, the cathedral and Aljube museum, etc. It's a connecting spot for sightseeing

Nice view, too bad the cruise ships were spoiling it when i was there. Must be amazing without them. The buildings full of colour, the red roofs, green leaves of the trees and the blue water makes this place quite unique. A must see place when in Lisbon. The fact that you walk on the hills of Lisbon until you get to the place makes it even more rewarding

Ideal place to admire the city of Lisboa. perhaps it is one of the most popular miradouro, maybe for easy access. . I suggest to take tram 28 or 12 that stops right near the miradouro. enjoy the show, the view of the city, its roofs, the bright colours of the houses and have a drink sitting at one of the kiosks to live and immerse yourself in the charm of Lisboa

We accidentally bumped into this view point around 7:30pm. The view toward the hills and ocean was gorgeous. There is a very cute garden right next to it, that has very old bougainvillea vine and grapevine. We took a lot of great family pictures there. Two women played guitar and sang songs under vine. The vibe was just right.

VERY scenic spot! Short distance by walking from the subway station but the route is uphill. So it will take a bit longer than what you think. When you leave the “miradouro” turn left to discover a romantic and beautiful garden with splendid views. Weekends are overcrowded in that area.
