-VERY Dirty -Overpriced -Location is going broke for poor maintenance -Poor service like they do not really care about guests -NO organisation at all -At the restaurant and breakfast almost annoyed people in serving you or x you being there. -Zero culture and no good vibes. To sum up: with this price go anywhere else and you will get way better staying. + do not look for places that promise you to offer a coworking / digital / nomad environment try to look for it by your own in a better and more authentic way respecting more Lisbon and its people. Places like this attract people that are not really into considering Lisbon for its culture but coming there just for fun / sun /cheap life helping in making Lisbon very similar to any other European capital while loosing its authenticity. Not a good place and not good x Lisbon

Very disappointing. We stayed in the hotel for 6 days in the "Micro Room" and would not do it again. The room was very poorly equipped, I have never slept on such an uncomfortable bed. In addition, there were shared bathrooms. The bathrooms were cleaned at best 1 time a day, which was mostly not the case. As a result, the bathrooms were very dirty. I felt super uncomfortable while staying there. Additionally, the walls in the hotel are very thin, allowing you to hear almost all sounds from other residents. Even with earplugs, it was hard to sleep through the night. If you are there to cowork, this is absolutely a bad atmosphere. All in all, the room is not worth the price and I strongly advise against booking there! I have had much better accommodations in Lisbon for a similar price.

Very beautiful hostel. Stayed in a micro room but actually it was pretty spacious and shared a bathroom with only one other room. Went there for New year's, they had activities planned and made great recommendations. Everyone at reception was very polite and we made good friends. Especially Jovanna, Victor, Laura and Pablo :) big thanks to you guys for taking such good care of us and making us feel at home 🩷 Good vibes! The restaurant was not that good but I heard it's going to renovate so maybe this changes. Thanks again for everything, will definitely come back!

Despite what people say about this place, I loved it. A great place to stay for my first time visiting Portugal. I did question the staff about these Google reviews as I was a bit worried about the noise levels and feeling comfortable. They did tell me about high season and you are expecting higher prices, more foot traffic and noise levels being higher. I'm sure if you ask for a higher level room you will be fine. I've got to give credit where its due the fact that this place is a hostel & co-working area. I thought this place was amazing for the price. I wasn't a fan of the shared bathroom concept, but for the price I couldn't complain. People mention in reviews that bathrooms weren't cleaned as much, but during my stay I saw the area being cleaned multiple times, so dont let this put you off. The overall concept of the place is very stylish and has its own style to the place. The place has its own pool, 2 bars, great staff and is in a perfect location. Thank you to all the staff that supported my stay and made me feel comfortable. I will be back again when I do another solo trip to Lisbon.

First of all, is not a hotel is a HOSTEL. Music loud until 10 pm every day, people doing noise until 3-5 am. Rooms are not sound proof at all, and poorly illuminated. Bathroom is shared with +4 rooms, and they are single bathrooms... so, you have to wait until you catch it empty. Coworking is nice, but small. You can only have meetings in the meetings cabinets, and they are usually busy. Free snacks = a jar with cookies. Staff is nice but not too professional. They charged me extra city tax than allowed by government, we request to be refunded, they confirmed the refund but we never got the money back. Good thing? internet and if you want to socialize. That's all. Not even the price was good. And photos from that website is not the reality.

For that kind of price level you just expect more. All in all a stay that did not meet our expectations, instead we felt uncomfortable. We stayed in the micro dorm, which was badly equipped with not even a proper bed. Jo A/C bad air quality and a shared bath room which was very dirty and not cleaned enough. Further, the overall hostel and shred spaces were not clean, many places were dirty. The co-working area was very crowded, with an extremely sticky air and not enough space to work or even concentrate properly. The activities were mostly centered around party’s and not much offered for the high prices especially for mindful or revitalizing activities. All in all strongly recommend against it if you are looking for a peaceful stay to co-work. And to be honest for this price in Lisbon, you can get so much more.

Great atmosphere for solo travellers and for digital nomads. There is a co-work area with many seats to take. The rooftop bar is nice, and upon check-in, you get a "welcome drink" to use at the bar. The shared bathrooms could be cleaner, some parts of them never get cleaned.. The beds are pretty comfortable

Property shouldn't advertise family rooms. Noise levels are completely unsuitable. Bathrooms weren't cleaned for 5 days. Communal kitchen was unusable (dirt) and the luggage store is an old shower that leaks. Additionally they wouldn't allow us to shorten our stay despite it being unsuitable for a 4 year old. Location is good. Property terrible

Comfortable and enjoyable stay at Selina Secret Garden Lisbon. As a couple from Canada, we had a private room with double bed and private bathroom. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had a bit of an odour to it, but i hear this is common, and it honestly didn't bother us and shouldn't be a deterrent to staying here. The rooftop is beautiful, and the courtyard is nice and a good place to have drinks and meet friends. We hung out multiple nights on the courtyard and met many friends. We didn't use the pool as the weather wasn't very hot, but the pool and pool area looked super nice. The location seemed to be pretty good, albeit a bit touristy, but we found multiple bars and restaurants within walking distance that we liked. Selina is a little bit loud, perhaps not the best place for people trying to go to bed before 10pm, but half the time we were the ones being loud so again, it did not bother us. Overall a pleasant stay, and would stay here again

This is a great place in the center of Lisbon to stay. It has dorms as well as private rooms. Rooms are quite compact but well furnished. There is a heated swimming pool, bar & restaurant as well. Staff is friendly. Overall a great stay.

Perfect location and a great area. The small private room was clean and comfortable except for two things. No air conditioning. It can be very hot midday in the summer. Stifling. It cools off in the evening but you have to have the window open. And the noise from the rooftop bar is deafening. I would really only recommend this place if you are a party animal night owl. People/ staff smoking cigarettes anywhere they want was disappointing. Right outside my room in the courtyard area. Definitely not a Health and Wellness vibe.

Selina Secret Garden is a very overrated place to stay in, if you're not a 20-yearish party person. I did the mistake to book a private room for 6 nights and they charged me almost 150 € / night for a dark, moist and very cold room without heating. The bed was so cold I had to sleep with clothes on in my sleeping bag. I asked for another blanket but they said they didn't have one. The sewer in the bathroom didn't work so the basin got filled up so I couldn't use it. In morning I asked them to solve the problems but they didn't do that. Instead they gave me another room. It was on top floor and nicer than the first but still very damp and cold. In the evening I needed a hot shower to warm up but there was no hot water. The waterpressure was too low so the hot water didn't reach all the way up. After about 15 min of flushing the pipes there was hot water - for 2 minutes! Then it was out again. After all this I told them that I couldn't stay and that the standard was like a 10 € hostel, although they charged the average of 141 € a night. They first refused to reimburse me for the coming 4 nights so I had to fight with them for over a day to get my money back. And they still didn't reimburse me for all the problems I had during the 2 nights I stayed there. In my opinion Selina Secret Garden is a place you should avoid. It was one of my worst experiences when it comes to accommodation.

Room was comfortable, always clean! Lady was bringing new towels every day and made sure everything is on spot. Co-working area was amazing, great if you need a quiet place to work. Restaurant had nice vegan food, only tip for everyone is to come and order earlier because they serve it slowly and it may take some time to have your breakfast/lunch. Overall satisfied!

Stayed at Selina Hostel and it was a good experience. The design is welcoming, and the reception staff were amazing! Natalia, in particular, deserves a special mention. Her warm smile and unparalleled assistance significantly enhanced my stay. She's attentive, personable, and truly goes the extra mile for guests. Her dedication is why I'll choose Selina again. Highly recommend!

This is the best hostel and hotel in Lisbon where you can have different kind of experiences that comes with the stay in packages. Which includes a super friendly Co-Working environment and a Swimming pool alongside plus the common kitchen with a free food section 😅. Nevertheless, the rooftop has a bar with music depending on the weather situation and a restaurant downstairs. Oh and forgot to mention about the Multipurpose room where you can have your time(watching movies, yoga, workout) with equipment. Cheers 🍻

You can't do much wrong with Selina hostel. We've been there for vacation, can't say much about the Coworking situation. But you will experience a beautiful hostel, very well located with a friendly staff. The cafe inside is fairly priced and offers good breakfast. Our room was really clean and tidied up everyday. We felt right at home! This is not a 24/7 party place but there's a beautiful rooftop bar that's open until 11 pm.

Great place to stay and meet new people. Common areas are amazing! Big kitchen with all utilities to cook. Pool, rooftop with awesome views. The room is good, cleanliness is good, partly not the best, but overall good. Recommend it!

We stayed in the standard room, which felt more like a hotel than a hostel very nice! The room was quiet, albeit not very big but we had a nice spacious bathroom with a view of the Taag! Breakfast was served in the restaurant which was simple but good (loved that we got served a side of fruit)

The best things about Selina in Lisbon are the location, the design, and the restaurant. Both pizza and cocktails are tasty, and the staff in the restaurant is attentive and kind. The reception experience was not so great. The staff seemed quite unhappy to be there and said no to any requests from the guests. They advertise as a place for digital nomads, but the Internet is really poor (8 Mbps), while a restaurant two streets away has over 300 Mbps. There is weird segregation in the coworking space. People seem to fight for comfortable chairs even if they pay extra to work there. Overall, the vibe was not as chill and friendly as they describe.

Awesome location, area is a bit sketchy at night but it's conveniently located to many bars and restaurants. The hostel itself has a nice layout and patio bar with lots of places to sit outside. Overall the property is quite run down, it's evident they don't try to maintain the property at all. Online all of the pictures look beautiful but in reality everything is very worn down, kitchen items are dirty, broken; patio furniture is extremely weathered. Inside the rooms it's clear they don't deep clean the bathrooms, sheets, curtains, etc. Nice place to save some money but there's a big gap between the expectation they set online to reality.

It is not your typical hotel. Big pluses: really clean, great vegetarian breakfast place (depending on your package, might be included in your stay) nice roof top patio and bar, friendly and very helpful staff. The vibe is cool. Minuses: rooms don’t have ac. If you open a window for air, it gets pretty noisy and people also smoke a lot in Europe, so you might get cigarette smoke coming in. Hostel type rooms will not have private bathrooms and if you go to use a toilet in the middle of the night, well you are going to the open yard/hallway located common area bathroom.

We were here in a big group of 15 people and we were very pleased during our stay with the service and the rooms! Although I suggest to not pick the micro rooms with shared bathroom, the upgrade to a standard or deluxe room is well worth. It is a nice roof top bar where you can gather and enjoy some drinks.

all together it’s a nice place in an awesome location! what I have to say is that there is no common room like one you might know from others hostels. and I felt like it’s very very hard to meet people here especially because there is no cozy room to sit around and hang out.. and it is really noisy. maybe try turning the music down at least when it’s getting later. but everything is clean and cleaned several times a day, staff was helpful and the beds are comfy:)

Excellent spot for short stays while visiting Lisbon. Really close to the city centre and the main squares. Easy access to public transport and a comfortable place to relax. Selina Secret Garden counts two really well-equipped bars and excellent bartender service. Rooms seem quite standard, but overall, they are a good quality place considering the low prices. I wouldn't recommend it to go with the whole family. It's the perfect place for digital nomads and people looking for a comfortable, short-stay place to work from.

Loves my stay here, ended up staying 2 weeks and it was a pleasure getting to know the place and the staff. Everybody was amazing, especially Giovanna, as I felt welcomed everyday by her. She is a fun person and introduced me to the majority of the staff. The location is amazing and everything is close by. I would say the hostel has everything but one thing: a closed, warm, common area. People are either in the restaurant, rooftop, kitchen or outside. But there is no central space where everybody would just come and chill. All in all, would come again!

A great concept hotel with so many cool amenities! The place was quite cute, with a lovely rooftop bar that serves great cocktails. It has a nice pool area and provides morning yoga classes as well as other activities. The bathrooms weren’t very practical but I would still reserve again.

Only stayed one night in a shared bed private, was great facilities and clean. They even gave us a towel without the renting like most places.

Very nice hostel in central Lisbon with pool and rooftop terrace. Great place to meet people. Nice staff. Mostly clean and free shared bathrooms considering the number of people staying at the hostel's dorms and private rooms. Very curious at staying in other Selina's around the world!

The hotel has an amazing design and vibe. The pool (even if small and with a few sunbeds) + the terrace are the highlight. Mixed Dorm x10 beds is quite spacious and bright with super comfy beds, it was well cleaned. Shared Bathrooms have a nice design, we’re cleaned once a day but being shared by many people cleaning could have been better. The staff could be nicer, I felt everyone was a bit cold.. breakfast: thumbs up for the granola bowl and the vegan lattes. WiFi worked perfectly and the facilities for working are spot on! Shared kitchen quite big and well equipped (could have been cleaner though) Overall I enjoyed my stay and would come back!

The most beautiful garden hostel in all of Lisbon. Perfect for a couple days stay, and 5 minutes from the train station, then 30 more minutes until the beautiful golden beaches in Cascais! The second best thing you can do in your stay in Portugal!

Legit! First time staying at a hostel and I was initially skeptical due to Covid-19. However, my nerves were quickly calmed with your Covid protocols asking for our vaccination cards, mask mandate, and the facility cleanness I had a private room and shared bathroom - Clean. I liked the decor and the plants at the property, it does make it feel like a secret garden. The staff was polite and friendly. Would visit again. Thanks

Stayed for 1 month. Hygiene in the shared restrooms and shower rooms is non existent, place overall needs renovation or better management, things are not looked after properly. Shared kitchen is disgusting, always dirty and everything stinks and sticks. Be aware of staff night parties and people talking/listening to music at 3am, walls are thin and not sound proof, you can feel/hear toilet flush in the neighbouring room. Great concept ruined by management.

I LOVE this place and have stayed twice. Excellent co-working space, cozy, but does the job. Social rooftop and location near restaurants and not far from main attractions. As hostels go, clean and accommodating. The pool is also a plus! Small but clean.

  • 3/5 Margaux W. 6 months ago on Google
All in all - an ok hostel. It's pricier than most hostels so you expect a slightly better experience which in some ways is! A little pool, a super cute rooftop, welcome drinks & fans included in every room. However, the shared bathrooms can get pretty grimy, the service was sometimes on the border of rude, and we felt we were being 'mislead' or 'scammed' when a couple next door with the same Microroom as us had access to the private bathroom between our connected rooms, but we had the same room next door but were told we had to use the shared bathroom with like 6 other rooms down the hall. We tried pushing the issue and they kept blaming it on 'management'...?

Hotel was really nice. The private room was on the small side but because we were only staying 3 nights it didn’t bother us. The room was very clean. Location was nice. The people who work there are super friendly and always ready to help with any questions. They also have a good costumer service and answers quickly on e-mail. The rooftop bar is also a big hit!

Staying at Selina in a private room was like a breath of fresh air after a week of staying in hostel dorms. A lot of reviewers complained about AC - I stayed when it was 80F/27C and it was totally fine. They give you a fan and blackout curtains. The ambiance of the hostel is really cool and the pool is lovely. Super clean and staff were helpful. Great location 15 min walking from the main touristy area.

Just stayed at Selina for vacation I was not working and I absolutely loved my time there. Older more mature crowd made it for many great nights. The bartenders Duarte Ines John and Vanessa all made amazing cocktails and were so easy to chat with! Melody and Lauren hosted the welcome drinks and I think that is one of the most critical reasons why I enjoyed it so much, it built a social environment. Pretty much the thing I want to do when travelling is just meet as many people as possible and Selina helped with that process. Thank you all !!

The location is good with a couple of nice brunch/coffee spots nearby as well as a laundry next door which is really cheap and they do the washing/drying for you! The staff was very nice and the facilities were clean. They have a fully stocked kitchen with pots/pans utensils/ cooktops/ovens and pool which are nice amenities. At times it can be a little noisy but generally you can expect to have quiet time from 11:00pm till about 8/9am depending on your roommates and how light of a sleeper you are. The beds are comfortable and there are lockers to put your stuff away. I didn’t use the cowork space but it looks inviting and I would consider it in the future. I stayed here in the beginning of my trip and end of my trip of Portugal. It’s great for solo travelers and can be a nice place to meet people.

I came from Spain And heard of Selina from some friends from Latin America and I enjoyed my experience at Selina Secret Garden, from all aspects from the staff to the location. I stayed in another places in Lisbon before but from this moment on wards this is my go to location from the moment of the check in you feel part of Selina. The beds are amazing, the rooms were clean and the rooftop and pool are great as I mention Selina Secret Garden Will now be my choice whenever I need to come to Lisbon

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at Selina Secret Garden Lisbon. We loved the rooftop terrace the most. We had the joy to facilitate a few workshops in cooperation with Selina. The care, the organisation and the facilities allowed for a smooth workshop experience. It also allowed us to create a special safe space for the participants in a literally beautiful space. :) Thank you, Selina.

While we didn't stay, we confidently would have. We're here for drinks and working, and found such a gorgeous, multifunctional space, kind people, and interesting guests. Is on the top of my list if looking to stay at a hostel and Lisbon.

Co-Working Space - I really liked this place when I worked there in August-October 2021. So I decided to come back in January 2022. Unfortunately I now returned in June 2022 and it is not the same anymore. In 2021, the staff was super friendly, it was an amazing atmosphere. Now they replaced the whole team. The kitchen + area to hang out becomes an electronic scene. Loud and disturbing. Total impersonal. The prices raised massively. It is crowded , impersonal and completely lost its charm and characteristic what it used to have. It is really a shame to see a place like this turning into another tourist trap with meaningless connections and overprized food + drinks. Really sad.

Dear Selina Team, I had a great time at Selina with my son. Upon arrival we met Miriam, who was super welcoming and lovely. I felt like there was a family alike atmosphere between guest and the staff. At breakfast (very tasty, also vegan)we quickly got in touch with other visitors. I used the cowork for a little bit and noticed the very relaxed atmosphere, which makes work much more fun and productive. Unfortunately it rained and the yoga class could not take place on the terrace, but the yoga room is also nice. In the evening there is music and various lectures, from 11 pm it becomes quiet and you can sleep relaxed. We got great tips from Zoë on shopping for sustainable Portuguese clothing and a super cute manicure and pedicure store just around the corner from the Selina. We immediately felt like we had arrived in Lisbon. Outside the door you can get on the famous tram line 28, there are great cafes, small boutiques and a supermarket.

I really like the concept of this brand, you have a mix of private and shared rooms + co working space and rooftop bar , restaurant. Location is very convenient, right into the middle of the city and close to shops and good restaurants. The place is clean and cool design. I recommend if you are looking for an affordable place to stay and meet working nomads during your stay

  • 1/5 AYUSH W. 1 year ago on Google
Very disappointing for the price. Stayed in the micro room. Shared toilets outside, not clean. It was very hard to sleep and there was a lot of noise from everywhere. The toilets are next to the room and you hear the shower and the flush every time someone uses. The rooms are very close to all the common areas, bar and pool, i.e. no possibility to have a decent rest or sleep. Very over rated.

Loved how the place is decorated with plants, the way it was built cuz you walk through different areas to get to the dining room. Great initiative the open mic events!! They could have a bigger offer of beers though.

Having stay previously at different Selina hostel I thought I would try out the one in Lisbon during my stay there unfortunately it didn't live up to the expectations. I'm not sure what it was I just didn't get the sort of atmosphere I was looking for. If you are looking for something away rom the hustle and bustle then this is perfect as it is about a half an hour walk from the centre. I would really recommend the Yoga there the instructor was great.

I have been in 3 different Selina's by now, and this one it's definitely my favorite one so far. The staff was really nice and they show you around as soon as you arrive :) i did my check in before 3 so it was really good! The place is really nice, it's indeed a secret but more people should know about it! I was on the second floor and i could hear the music while I was working, it made my day! It stops around 10:30 so if you need to sleep early, don't worry that will not be a problem! I stayed on a Micro (shared bathroom) but we had 3 so it was basically 1 for each room :) Here are some pictures! I also had breakfast at the restaurant on the ground floor, it is a most! Even though you don't stay in the Selina, you should try it Definitely going back!

One of the best hostels I have stayed in. Amazing and kind staff. I came to visit in January and they had a heated pool which the guest could use. Very clean rooms and common area and cool people.

Had a great stay at Selina with my boyfriend. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and reception is open 24 hours for all queries. Rooms are clean but small. They do not have air conditioning but this was not a problem in May as it was not yet very hot. Shared bathrooms were kept very clean and included a hairdryer. The pool and rooftop areas were lovely and a great way to meet new people. The shared kitchen was also a bonus. Great stay overall in a great location. Highly recommend for young couples!

Would not recommend this hostel (and specifically the micro room). - The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. - They advertise a sink in the room, this is not the case. - They advertise that each bathroom for the micro rooms is shared between 3/4 rooms, this is also not the case. Everyone (including people staying in dorms and people using the restaurant/bar) have free access to all bathrooms. - They advertise a free room upgrade if you book direct and there is availability. When we stayed there was availability and we were denied this. In fact, when we first enquired the staff said yes we could upgrade and went to check a price. When we queried about the free upgrade, she knew nothing about it and when her manager checked there was suddenly no availability despite rooms being available to book online. - Housekeeping is not good, rooms were not cleaned properly and on two occasions our towels were taken but not replaced. It took reception an hour to replace them. - The rooftop bar was not open due to the time of year but the actual terrace is meant to be open (as per advertisements around the building) but when we tried on two occasions this was not the case. - On the plus side, the location is quite good.

Generally a nice hostel but you basically cannot work from any space for free, other than your room or an outside area with no cover for rain. 15€ minimum to work from the cafe, 10€ for the coworking space, cannot even have your laptop out while having lunch in the shared kitchen. I do not recommend this for digital nomads unless you want to pay extra. Also FYI the rooftop is closed for maintenance as of March 2024.
