The museum could be more interesting by adding more information on exhibited items, a reorganization of the material and addition of interactive parts. The staff were friendly and helpful, though there was no ticket handed to me, even though it was free most museum print ticket but here was not the case. I was the only one visiting the museum at the time which was strange as the tourists were flocking out of the building. I believe the museum should take benefit of its outstanding spot in the middle of most touristic areas to attract more visitors. One more thing to mention is that there is no actual shop for the museum. In fact there is a museum shop outside the building but not actually dedicated for sport museum, and selling souvenirs from Lisbon and porcelain objects among others.

(Translated by Google) Free entrance museum with several exhibitions related to sport / personalities related to sport and also with a library. Quick visit (about 1h). I could have more articles related to prominent personalities in Portuguese sport and other sports.

(Translated by Google) The National Sport Museum Portugal is located in the center of Lisbon, in the Palácio da Foz. It was inaugurated on July 13, 2012, the year Portugal celebrated the centenary anniversary of participation in the Olympic Games. This results in space public invitation to the sports federations to make known heritage that athletes of various modes left. The museum also houses the national sport library has a collection of 600,000 items recorded. Here are the latest and most important modern monographs on sport and some examples of particular historical relevance such as the Gymnastica art book, considered the first published sports book in the world. The National Sport Museum has also created a space for temporary exhibitions related to sport and a cross-border educational service. It has a room dedicated to Lieutenant Dr. Antonio Augusto da Silva Martins former shooting champion and participant of the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris where his trophies are on display. There is also a faithful recreation of the pro's workroom. Moniz Pereira is unavoidable when we refer to sports in Portugal.

Staff unhelpful and rude, if my husband did not speak Portuguese and explain why we were there they would not have let us in, shocking treatment, we won't be returning.

(Translated by Google) This national Portuguese sports museum is not very big and is beautifully located on Av. da Liberdade or at Praça dos Restauradores. In Germany that would be a sports museum on Kurfürstendamm or on the Kö. The building is also very beautiful. However, this great location does not solve the problem that many sports museums have: what do you present? Do you want to see the old-fashioned shoes of a football player or a track and field athlete because they won a World or European Championship? In Lisbon you chose a friendly path and presented older "sports equipment". But a visit to the building is already worthwhile.

Not easily found museum in the tourist area of Restauradores but quite good to see if you have extra time. The person incharge was friendly and helpful. Some history of the games where Portugal won. The building itself is nice to see as it is full of character. I hope they improve this museum as it has great potential! The main entrance only shows a written word that the museum is inside and you need to pass another building to enter.

(Translated by Google) Portugal stands out in many sports that this museum could have explored each modality in more depth. It would be useful to have a history of the sports, with names of people who have distinguished themselves in the area. Very weak.

The space is careful and is of great beauty, it is recommended to visit not only for the sport theme but also for its framing. (Translated by Google) Installed magnificently in the Foz Palace, the National Sports Museum is special highlighting in a unique way of the others. I recommend this museum, free access, to everyone with a highlight for sports fans. An excellent collection of objects and pieces of the most varied sports of the 50s to 70s (except for deception). There you will find bicycles, box and tennis gloves still made of leather, spears, darts, uniforms, bathing suits, books, special editions of newspapers, technical notes, hundreds of vintage photos. You'll also find incredible trophies from various Portuguese world champions, their stories and trajectories. I recommend it for all ages, especially young people. I hope Tourism companies offer this cultural option. Congratulations to the RPCM - PRESIDENCY OF THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS. Eng. Prof. Pesq. Parabéns à RPCM - PRESIDÊNCIA DO CONSELHO DE MINISTROS. Eng. Prof. Pesq. William Berbari

👍 First think this place requires prior reservation before entering. So if you didn’t make a reservation you can’t do it the day you came. Second they do not provide helmets and gloves. 😠 I visited here during the exposition Musex, a traveling(?) museum exhibit about female sexual pleasure and health.
